Now hold on there a minute. Are you SURE you want that? With all these cool Quahog Heat limited time event items in the game, it is very easy to get carried away. Before you know it, Clamshell Shock! All gone!

So before you go ahead and buy the Chopper Cop Quagmire character costume with your hard-earned Clams, here’s a few things you might want to know about him.

Character Costume: Yes
Clam Price: 270 Clam IconClams
Unique: Yes

PROS:

  • A new costume for Quagmire that lets us see him in uniform.
  • Can help investigate the bank Vault
  • One of only two characters who can attack Boss Bertram
  • Fully tasked with Questline.
  • 2 permanent animated tasks

CONS:

  • Frakkin 270 CLAMS!!!
  • It’s a costume, and Quagmire has a lot already
  • Won’t be useful after the Event

MATH OF IT:

Well there is none, he has no drops, the main purpose of this premium buy is to give you an advantage in investigating The Vault room to find Robbers and bust Bertram, you can then use him for attacking Boss Bertram.

Think of this, Choppper Cop Quagmire can start to do investigations immediately in Room 3 in the bank, The Vault. This room only needs 1 rare Police Tape per investigation as opposed to the 2 and 3 needed for other rooms. So that’s a plus straight away if my Police Tape drops are anything to go by so far.

The Vault is the only room apart from the Security Room where you can bust Bertram, so it’s 1 Police Tape as opposed to 3 Police Tapes for each investigation once you need to bust him.

The Vault is otherwise out-of-bounds until you unlock Erik Estrada and that’s going to take a lot of clams or time. You can of course investigate other rooms with Lois & Miami Cop Peter, once you’ve unlocked him. But without Chopper Cop Quagmire you’re probably going to find you can only use Lois for a while, and as I say the rooms she is of use in take more Police Tape. The Teller Room needs 2 but you can’t bust Bertram in it, and Security Room where needs 3. And these Police Tapes are rare drops remember.

Also Chopper Cop Quagmire can help fight Bertram once you bust him during an investigation. He’s the only character apart from Miami Cop Peter that can do so, so he’s going to be a good help there, as again you can immediately attack Boss Bertram after a bust rather than waiting to unlock Miami Cop Peter.

These  battles are crucial not only to progress in Phase 1 but also to unlocking Erik Estrada.

And another quick reminder of who else can help investigate rooms:

Teller Windows – Lois

Security Office – Lois or/and Miami Cop Peter ( Miami Cop Peter needs to be unlocked before he can be used so won’t show as immediately available).

The Vault – Erik Estrada (who needs to be unlocked before he can be used so won’t show as immediately available unlike the premium Chopper Cop Quagmire).

And who else can attack Boss Bertram: Miami Cop Peter (who needs to be unlocked before he can be used so won’t show as immediately available unlike the premium Chopper Cop Quagmire).

Final Thought:

Personally, I usually only buy a character costume if it’s something I really want in my game, I rarely buy just because it will help in an event. But I have to say if this costume was even a little cheaper I would possibly have taken the plunge immediately, as it will help a lot in this Phase: with the cheaper investigations, and inflicting damage on Boss Bertram. If you’re short on time, or like a hand up in events this is a tempting buy. I think a lot will depend on how you’re finding your Police Tape drops going. My drops haven’t been good so far, and that is what made me buy this costume, even although I think 270 clams is way too much for a costume. But I have to say during this part of the event he will be of more use than many other premium costumes/characters have been during events in the past. We saw this improvement in the use of premium buys during the Kung Pow event and buying this looks similar to buying Walking Joe in the first phase of that. He was a massive help. So basically I think it’s too expensive but I’ve hit the bullet as I think he will make things easier for me during this phase. And to be honest it’s not a bad costume either so hopefully I won’t regret it too much hopefully. Just be aware that once you place Erik Estrada you will need to do investigations at the Window Tellers for handcuff drops but hopefully by then you will have had a head start thanks to this purchase if you should choose to buy it also.

With it being part of a Limited Time Event, just make sure you make up your mind as once the event is over it is most likely they will be gone. In the end it’s your call.  What you buy and what you don’t buy is your own personal choice we can only guide you on the facts and let you know what we did and what we think.  But don’t purchase it until YOU are sure. ALL SALES ARE FINAL!

  1. Is he actually on a little motorcycle? If he is I’ll bite.

  2. Well it is expensive but I squealed like a “B” when I seen this was a “CHIPS” character on a bike. Dam I loved that show as a young-buck.

  3. I understand 270 clams is a lot for a costume. But the amount I would spend on those I just spent at Subway for a meal that lasted less than 30 minutes. The skin lasts a month, so to me it’s worth it if you think like that .

    • Yeah, sometimes we spend more on a coffee or something that’s gone in a heartbeat, I think that’s why some players consider there mobile app spending as part of their entertainment spending, like a trip to the cinema or such.

  4. My game still has still not updated, shows the update on the main screen but that is it.. Same thing for the past 4 events. Hard to finish an event when you start behind . Lol

  6. My tactic for a lot of events is buy the first character/costume as it allows you to get a head start on week 1 and therefore the rest of the event.

I look at it as 270 clams to help unlock everything in the event rather than just the one costume.

Plus with ads, Jesus’ and neighbours I usually earn back the cost by the end of the event anyway.

  7. Tempting but the price is too high. I’m gonna hold out and see what they have in store for the second week. Week 2 has been traditionally the toughest for me.

I’m really hoping they provide a clam generating building for this event. It was one of my minor gripes about the last major event.

  8. Remember the days when new, premium characters cost 270 clams? Insane!
