Quahog’s Excellent Adventure – How Did You Do? Poll Results

Hi there fellow addicts.

Yes, finally they’re in, the poll results from the Quahog’s Excellent Adventure Event that many of you will be keen to see.

Firstly I’d like to take a minute to thank everyone who voted, seriously big thanks to all my fellow addicts who take the time to respond to these polls, without your interaction it just wouldn’t be possible to have posts like this, or to show TinyCo what we are thinking and would like to see in our games going forward. So thanks for taking that minute out of your day to be part of this community.

Now in recent polls I’ve added a few questions that will appear in all polls going forward, they are just to give a quick insight into our thoughts about events. They cover the fun factor in the event, how you describe the event and you’re favourite character or costume from the event.

So I’ll start with these, then get on with all the usual facts and figures. So I asked you to rate how much fun the event was, where 1 is no fun and 5 is lots of fun, I also asked you to choose from a list of words the one you felt described the event best and finally your favourite new character or costume released during the event, so here’s what you said.

Quahog’s Excellent Adventure Event Fun Factor Rating:
4

Seems like this was seen as an excellent event by many of the players.

The three words used most to describe the Quahog’s Excellent Adventure event:
Excellent. Hard. Unfair.

These tie in with the what we saw in the comments, this event was high on funny dialogue and popular content but there was a big downside in the timers on Ted Logan and Tehuantl, these saw less than half of you unlock these characters freemium.

Most popular new character or costume released during the Quahog’s Excellent Adventure Event:
Ted Logan

I’m not surprised at this as he was my favourite and looks fantastic, just a shame that over 50% of you missed him or had to spend clams to get him. Very unfair that a supposedly freemium character should be so hard to obtain.

And now here’s the ins and outs of what we spent, who we unlocked and everything in between.

Which of the following freemium characters/character costumes did you unlock? (Please note the timed characters are not included here, I will ask about them separately later in the poll)

  1. I for one loved this event. It’s the first event in ages that I wasn’t a week/week and a half behind when it ended. I actually made it to the final week!! Very exciting for me. And I’m right on target with the summer camp event also. They must have changed something (so far) because it’s been depressing for me for about a year. Making little to no progress and never gaining any new characters made it really sucky.

  2. You would think looking at these polls, that TC would restructure how they want us to spend clams as its obvious not a lot of people are spending on the game/mystery boxes. I don’t now because IMO the game has been broken and unfair for a year (and this camp event is the worst yet). I haven’t come close to finishing an event in ages, if I’m a week – a week and a half behind I’m doing well these days.

  3. I think the question one whether contacted TinyCO should be given a third option, because it is kinda misleading in the result. Many will have clicked no, because they didn’t contact TinyCO at all. The result suggests that 80% contacted TinyCO and were not satisfied with their support. So, my suggestion is as follows: (3) I didn’t have to contact them during the event.

I had that option in in earlier polls and it skewed the results as this is to gauge how TinyCo respond to players when they report an issue, the question clearly says if you had to contact TinyCo, if you didn’t contact them you don’t respond to the question. It’s only for those who contacted TinyCo! And from the comments here I wouldn’t be surprised if 80% of players who did contact them weren’t happy with the response.

  5. I wish they’d put Rufus in week 3 instead of week 4. Didn’t care for Tehuantl even though I unlocked him, but would’ve liked Rufus to go better with the Bill & Ted theme!

  6. Some interesting results there…..98% of players did NOT complete the 4 week challenge. What does that tell you TinyCo? Clearly waaaayyyy too hard.
And 93% did not purchase ANY mystery boxes; surely this indicates they are overpriced and the random nature of the prizes do not entice players to part with their clams.
Still, a fun event overall just marred by timed characters and unrealistic achievements.

  7. The incredibly deplorable drop rates for Ted unfortunately put a somewhat sour note over the event for me. I still (mainly) enjoyed the event though, as I always loved the Bill and Ted movies. I still recall watching both Bill and Ted movies (Excellent Adventure / Bogus Journey) on my family’s Beta video player back when I was a kid / teenager. I think I watched them, just before my family got ready to move onto VHS. I have not seen either movie in many years now though.

However, the shortness of the event was another factor that annoyed me. As I mentioned in a previous post, it is good if they delay the release of an event if there are problems / glitches with it. I also understand if they are on a tight schedule with the release of events and can not extend the end time or date. They need to understand that with less time though, they might make things a bit easier for players. To complete 60 achievements in LESS than a week? Was that actually possible? I think not. We players should not need / have to suffer the consequences of a shortened timeframe. 😕

  8. It was a reasonable event, but they cut it too short (after a late start) ending the final phase on a slightly sour note.
