Tasks are way too long, especially as they’re needed to unlock the last bonus prize. To complete everything you need to unlock character at least a day early. Really not fair, especially with bad notebooks drops.

Exactly! I was to the stage 7 of the main questline by Sunday, but I never actually was able to unlock Brian (without using clams). Those notebook drops were almost infuriating. The bonus prize wasn’t that spectacular, but would have looked good along my mansion road.

Not going to get Dr Brian – have been working on him since last Wednesday but drops have been abysmal. Only getting mouse traps about 50% of the time and then the notebook drops have been about 20% (i in 5). Has taken 6 days to collect 21 notebooks – approx 3 a day – and only have 10 hours to collect 6 more. So it is not going to happen. It’s a long time since I have been unable to unlock a character as I play every 4 – 6 hours. And I am not going to spend 24 clams a notebook to collect 15 clams for the set.

I’ve been 10 Notebooks away from unlocking him for the past 4 days.
I know Notebooks are down as a rare drop but I’m collecting rat traps from 3 points every 4 hrs (with a trap drop rate of usually 2/3 each time).
But then when I use said trap on a rat I get no Notebooks dropping. And this has been the same for 4 days.
Messaged TinyCo 2 days ago and got the “we’re always looking to adjust drop rates” but nothing changed.
Not prepared to waste the clams to quick unlock so looks like I’m gonna miss out.

I’m starting to think this is a premium character disguised as a freemium character based on my drop rates.

I need one more Notebook, with 4 hours to go: I think I will make it. But I won’t be able to complete the Case Files, if there are 20 hours of tasks for Watson to do, to complete the Questline… 😦 It is tough, but doable.
(I play freemium, only using Clams to rush tasks, and have bought no premium buildings or characters. I have more Clams now than when the event began, earning them from Jesus, Clam TV, Ollieland, and Tan Lines Daily Quests. I even missed a few logins on Monday, due to a power outage from a freezing rain storm, but I am lucky that my schedule allows me to check in often.)
