EVENT AREA IN QUAHOG

There is just 1 item up in the usual event area and it’s the fantastic transporting device, The Cursed TV.  This will allow you to travel back to yesterday years, starting this week with 1950’s Quahog. Just tap on it to see the  Cursed TV decades you can be transported back to, and as I say for this week there’s just 1, 1950’s Quahog.

Be aware most things you need to do this week will be done in 1950’s Quahog not in your standard Quahog. This includes some items in the store only showing up when you’re in 1950’s Quahog.

1950’s QUAHOG

By tapping on the Cursed TV in the event area or tapping the TV icon in the lower right corner of your game screen you can “travel” back in time to the 1950’s event area, here’s where you’ll earn stuff  and acquire items to further help you along in the event.

.

As the game progresses, more past decades will unlock for you to travel back to. But for now the first decade you will see will be 1950’s Quahog. And yes it’s supposed to be monochrome.

To go to 1950’s Quahog, just select it from the Cursed TV screen, then tap “Let’s Go” and you will now be taken to an alternate play area. (And remember to return to your bog standard Quahog you just used the Cursed TV again, only selecting Quahog as your destination).

You will notice a hammer or two to “repair” in 1950’s Quahog as you progress. These are for the characters 1950’s Peter and 1950’s Lois. They aren’t timed so don’t worry about repairing them. Once repaired you can start collecting items to unlock them. And funnily, well in my game, they seem to be able to get in 2 places at once as I can see them in both my Quahog and 1950’s Quahog.

As well as this you’ll all the usual event content such as buildings and baddies to defeat. And I’ll be breaking all this down below.

POP’S APPLIANCES

Here is where you will trade the Event Currency you collect while playing the game to unlock Buildings & Decorations to use to further your game play in the Event.

1950’s Drunken Clam : Chance drop of 2 High Ball every 4hrs

CLAMMY DINER

This will be you’ll trade your items, it’s essentially a “Crafting” area where you will combine materials to make the Ray Guns you need to participate in the Intergalactic Combat mini game.

 Ray Gun

Needed to craft: 3 Decoder Rings

Time to manufacture: 2hrs

You can be crafting up to 6 items in the Products Queue at a time. If the queue is full you will have to wait until one finishes before adding more into the Queue.

Basically all you need to do is collect the necessary materials and then select the item you want to manufacture. Once you start manufacturing you’ll see items preparing in the section on the right. The clam cost to speed them up is also shown there.

And here’s a reminder of where you’ll get the materials you need for crafting:

Decoder Ring (Always) –  Get from clearing 50’s Sci-Fi Monster, Mrs Clammy Ice Cream Truck

50’S SCI-FI MONSTER

You will trigger them and learn about them at Part 1 of the main Questline.  You will find them wandering in 50’s Quahog and you will need to use a Character to clear them.

Tap on a 50’s as Sci-Fi Monster wandering around to bring up the screen showing the item and character/s needed, basically you need 1 Baseball and either Chris, 1950’s Peter or 1950’s Lois.

Simply tap on SELECT to choose the Character. Please note you can also put the Characters on the tasks directly from their profiles.

Characters Used:
Chris
1950’s Peter
1950’s Lois

Task Time: Instant

Chance Payout:
2 Decoder Rings (Always)
1 Pomade (Chance)
1 Apron (Chance)

And here’s a reminder where you can get Baseballs.

Baseball (Common) –  Get from Chris Bat Around, 50’s Peter Throw A Punch, 50’s Lois Pick Up After Everyone

INTERGALACTIC COMBAT MINI-GAME

With the new event we are seeing the return of an old style mini-game. You might remember similar ones from the Peter’s Booty Haul and Beachy Keen events.

In order to be able to participate you’ll need to collect a ray gun, you’ll get them here:

Ray Guns (Always): Get from Crafting in the Clammy Diner, 50’s Cleveland Read A Comic Book

Once you have a Ray Gun just tap on the Rocket Icon in the bottom right of your screen. It will only show up whilst you’re in 1950’s Quahog.

After tapping on this, the Intergalactic Combat mini game will appear.

You will see on the top of the screen the Rewards you have won from clearing rockets. The amount of Ray Guns  you have available in the Lower Left. The FIRE button in the Lower Right. (If you’ve no Ray Guns it will show Need More) Then in the center, you will see the circle that is essentially your target that you will use to get the Rockets.

This is really an “Aim n Shoot” kind of set up. You wait for a minute while the rockets fly around, then move the circle to target them. It should turn green when a rocket is in target, but it’s monochrome so we won’t see it. But the secret of this mini-game is to try target more than 1 rocket, so be patient and wait until you see a group of rockets bunched together then target them and quickly hit CAST.

To do this put your finger on the Target in the middle of the screen and drag it around to where the group of rockets are that you want to get. Tap in FIRE to destroy them. Remember you’ve a better chance of capturing more if they are really close to or/and on top of one another like above.

You will then be given Rewards depending on how many rockets you destroyed with your ray gun. I’ve managed to destroy 5 at once, but the screen only showed 4 destroyed, but I did get rewards for destroying 5..

The rewards you get will vary on how many rockets you destroy at a time.

Per Rocket Destroyed:
1 Bread (Always)
1 Pearls (Always)

TV GUIDE WEEK 1

You’ll find a full and more detailed post on up on the site soon!!!

Think of this as a “CHECK LIST” of items that will help you gather resources for the Event.

You can get to the current TV Guide Screen by tapping on the Icon in the lower right corner of the game screen.

Once you complete a task you will see CLAIM appear  above the icon.

You must  be mindful of this and tap on the “CLAIM” button next to an order to gain your reward. As I say be vigilant on collecting rewards in order you trigger the subsequent task.

To go quickly to location of a task you need to complete, tap on the “GO” icon next to it.

Here is the list of what I currently see in my game for this Weeks TV Guide p (as you clear one or progress through the event, another will appear)…

Sci-Fi Smash

Back In Action

Open Carry

Space Invaders

Complete Set

Architecturally Sound

GRAND PRIZE: If you complete 49 Achievement Tasks, you can also unlock a Baseball Bobblehead

There you have the overall basics to get you started through the first Week of the New Event. Where are you so far? Anything particular you like the most? Suggestions or tips to fellow players? Let us know.

  3. I’m having the exact same issue but with mcburgretown I tried to place it and it immediately went into my inventory. Then to place it, it tells me I need to go back to present day quahog where the item is invalid and won’t post. Puts a bit of a damper on the event.

  4. Anyone else not able to get their daily clams for watching ads and doing demos? It just hasn’t reset. I haven’t been able to for about four days, which is about 35 clams. It’s really frustrating considering all the problems with watching videos in the past. Ever time I think it’s finally fixed it has problems again. I really rely on those clams and problems hurt my bottom line. Any ideas?

Nancy, it is not just you, I am having the same issue. When I am in 1950’s Quahog and try to place the 1950s Griffin home it transports me back to present day – and then I am not able to place the home anywhere, because obviously we are in “Present Day”.
The other issue I am having is that the ONLY time I am able to find the 1950s Griffin home in my inventory is when I open up the prompt for the “Good Ole Days Part 4” in the quest log on the left side of my screen. I I open my regular inventory via the shopping cart icon on the bottom right corner, they are not there… so what is up with this, and how do we fix it?? Anyone have any suggestions?

    • Hi, sounds like you’re going to your store and not your inventory. Try this. https://familyguyaddicts.com/2018/09/09/50s-griffin-house-glitch-fix/

Received your response, and found the item using the actual inventory in lieu of the store. However, still unable to place the 1950s Griffon home. When I got to 1950s Quahog, then click the Inventory (the correct one this time) icon, and then pull up the 1950s Griffon home, it pulls up, but is all blocked in red.
When I open up “Good Ole Days” part 4 Quest from the left side of the window, it still prompts me back to “Present Day Quahog”, and then pulls up the 1950s home, and it is blocked in red. So essentially I can pull it up in either time frame, but have no place to put it. What am I doing wrong?

        • Try placing it well away from the sides of 1950’s Quahog, bits that look like open land won’t let me place things on them, so go near the centre.

I tried to place the 50s house in 50s quahog but it wouldn’t place. Now it’s only available in reg Quahog and it remains red and I can’t place it. Any ideas?

    • Another player having same issue. Did you Store it in your inventory instead of placing it straight away? Can you tell me what device, platform you’re playing on.

      Like

    • Same exact thing happened to me. It went straight into my inventory and trapped it there and would only let me drop it in present day quohog. I figured out a workaround since it doesn’t appear in the 1950s inventory. Go to 1950s quohog and hit the MOVe button first and then hit the STORE button. Your 1950s house should be in there and you can then place it in 1950s quohog. It worked for me. Hopefully it works for you.

  7. I’m loving the format so far of this event. Great job so far! Definitely love the B&W….nice little twist. I’ve been playing for almost 2 years now and don’t recall them doing anything like that. Very neat idea. Can’t wait to see the next decade.

  9. I can’t. It’s not an option to place it in 1950’s quahog for me. It’s not in my inventory there. It automatically brings me back to the main page whenever I try to place it.

    • If you’re game is saved to an account I’d try a clean install. And of course contact support but with the weekend you might not get a response, hence I’d try reinstalling.

  10. Switching between 1950s Quahog and present Quahog really makes you appreciate colour. 😀

    • It’s like an old movie that starts in black & white then bursts into colour when we’re going back and forth. Even the overview post seems weird with the monochrome images.
