Cannot complete Mountain Man 7, ice bar still says locked😡I’ve placed the other buildings, got both winter Chris and Lois- still locked, its been several days- frustrating

I finished Week 1 and am ready for Week 2. But the snowballs and ice cubes were definitely slow going. Nonetheless, I’m happy to have the 2 Trophies from Winter Lois and Chris. I’ve got 6,000 extra Medals stockpiled for QHS Rank 29 and 900 free clams saved up — with more on the way as soon as Rank 28 is released — since I already have all 4 characters. The game is really fantastic now — the best it’s ever been. Between FF and the QHS bonus clams, I am well positioned. But I’d still like something interesting to do with my 180,000,000 Coins and my 62 Gold Stewie Bucks. How about a Mystery Box that works on Coins and Stewie Bucks? I’ve had Winter Lois for a while now, but I’ve been in the Gulf of Mexico and tanning in the hot sun on Clearwater Beach for a few days. Hard to do a winter event when the closest thing to a whiteout is the white sand with blazing Florida sunshine blinding you in 85 degrees. It sure feels like summer in Florida — even though it’s January.

I couldn’t take that heat, here it’s a chilly but ok 35 degrees. I did suffer through a 105-110 degree heatwave in Moscow and it was brutal indoors and out, as they aren’t used to that heat virtually nowhere has air conditioning, the tar in the streewalks was melting. I honestly don’t know how you folk that live in Florida etc cope. As we’re quite a cold and wet country, folk start get excited here if the tempersture hits 60 degrees in summer although we have last few years started see small spells of really hot weather where the mercury has hit 80 for couple days. But in that heat I’d just lounge around playing games to, certainly too hot to work….. I’m not sure we’ll see any use for Stewie Bucks etc going forward but I do ask them to consider something and will do again. Even if they opened some more Tan Lines Floor and use Stewie Bucks to unlock them or something.

I am getting the rare snowball from the “wear UGG boots” activity which fails to register on the snowball counter. Not only are the drops way too low, but the cheat by not allowing it to register is making the quest more difficult than it has to be. The game creators seem to be overwhelmed by the pace of their game.
But then again, buying clams fixes all “errors” right? SMH.

The Connie wear UGG Boots task doesn’t drop Snowballs, it drops Silver Cannonballs for unlocking Winter Lois, that’s why it’s not registering on your Snowball counter

I’m just glad that they are starting to use the different skins and characters for events. It got to the point where I would stop buying them as they were useless for the future and it was always just the main ones.

Another event where you have to finish the main questline before you can progress in week 2 and 3 I assume? Would be unfortunate considering I don’t have Tom Tucker yet so won’t be able to complete Pt. 5.

That’s way events gave always been set up I’m afraid. Events are tough for newer players.

I don’t have Rambo Lois, Winter Chris, or Winter Peter so I can’t even get past the first part. This really sucks, because, I get people liking these events, but they don’t need to be constant ,especially if I have no way of participating. On top of that I have to deal with all these Snowmen walking around that I can’t get rid of & having that Snowman screen constantly coming up every time I tap my screen. I wish I could opt out & just focus on the main game, if there can’t be a way for newcomers to actively participate.

This is the way the game has been since the year it launched, constant events. It’s pity you can’t play but as you say ignoring the event and concentrating on the main game is best, but be warned as soon as this event ends another will start, so you’ll always be either ignoring an event or juggling main story and an event depending on who’s used.

That’s the way I was back in the day. I was busy trying to unlock the main districts and missed a lot of content from the early events. I’d concentrate on getting your districts unlocked then go from there.
At least now we have the Historical Society so you’ll be able to get some of these characters/costumes at a later time. Good Luck!
