GLITCHES & ISSUES

Consuela’s Vacuum Removed

Game crashing on older devices, and those with older/outdated software continues, it may be they can no longer handle the game. What I can tell you is if your device runs on 2gb of ram you may struggle with crashing, if it has less than 2gb ram it probably won’t run at all.

HOW TO CONTACT GAME SUPPORT

There’s 3 ways to do this, The first and best way is through your game main menu, select Help & Support and then tap ‘Contact Us’.

Go to their website and use the ‘Contact’ button: https://jamcity.helpshift.com/a/family-guy-the-quest-for-stuff/

Ornament hunt mini game

With the new event we are seeing the return of an old style mini-game.

In order to be able to participate you’ll need to collect a Cat. Once you have one just tap on the Ornament Hunt Icon at the bottom of the event screen.

After tapping on this, the mini game will appear.

You will see on the top of the screen the Rewards you can win from clearing the Ornaments (lights and baubles). The amount of Cats you have available in the Lower Left. The PICK button in the Lower Right. (If you’ve no Silver Bullets it will show More) Then in the center, you will see the circle that is essentially your target that you will use to get the Ornaments. You can also see the target is orange, this is because it’s not on an Ornament.

It will turn green once you are on this. Don’t hit PICK if the target isn’t green as below. You’ll just waste Cats.

This is really an “Aim n Shoot” kind of set up. You wait for a minute while the Ornaments float around, then move the circle to target them. It should turn green when an Ornament is properly in target. It is usually possible to get 2, 3, or 4 with one Cat let, so be patient and wait until you see a group of them overlapping each other and quickly hit PICK.

To do this put your finger on the target in the middle of the screen and drag it around to where the group of Ornaments you want to hit are. Try to make sure they are very close together or overlapping each other so you can hit more than one like below. You will then be given Rewards depending on how many you clear. I’ve managed to destroy 4 at once at most so far.

The rewards you get will vary on how many  you destroy at a time.

Per Each One Cleared:
1 Matchstick (Chance)
1 Miseltoe (Chance)

Snowman

These are the little baddies this week of the event and are quite simple to deal with, just more of the tap, aim and fire we’ve seen in previous events..

As usual will find they wander your sidewalks, you can find them by looking  there or using the Squatter Button.

Before you can clear them you’ll need to get a Matchstick. Once you have this head to your sidewalks and simply tap one of them to bring up the targeting screen. Then move the Matchstick until the green target circle is on one, then simply hit the check mark to clear it.

I am seeing up to a maximum of 8 in my game.

The event rewards for clearing them is as follows:

For Each One Cleared:
10 Presents  (Chance)
1 Chestnut (Chance)
1 Naughty List (Always)

There you have the overall basics to get you started through this week of the latest Event. Where are you so far? Anything particular you like the most? Suggestions or tips to fellow players? Let us know.

  1. One character for cats… fine. They’re suppose to also be common though and I’ve only gotten one. :/

  2. The only freemium way to get cats is Lois, and while it says “common”, I have got 2 drops from 5 today. Not a promising start.

  3. Why do they insist on having items that only ONE character can collect. In this event, it is the Cats and only Lois can get them. Not only are they needed for the quest line but to get the other event characters, Buttcracker Peter and Thief Lois. Both are the only other characters who can collect Cats. I have 300 characters at my disposal but constantly have to tell on 4-5 for events. I understand making it a “challenge” but instead of 3-4 characters that collect candy canes maybe have at least 2 that can consistently collect items required for the rest of the event tasks.

  4. Has anyone noticed a better drop from either the ornament or the light string in the cat game? I assume they are just images with the same random programming, but if someone has noticed a recurring difference, I’ll focus on clusters of one type. Thanks

  5. I keep getting connection errors and can’t connect to the server to start the new game. It just keeps going through the 9 second restart process over and over until the game crashes.

  6. Sorry, I’m not buying the “old devices” excuse for issues with Consuela’s vacuum. I was running the game on a 4th Gen iPad Air, which only came out a little more than a month ago, and it was causing the game to freeze for a few seconds. If the game won’t run on the newest device with the most recent and fastest processor, then it’s not just that the device is old and outdated. This only started within the last few weeks. Before that, it ran fine on my year old iPad and two year old iPhone, and that was even with the “all go for the gold” and vacuum feature for QHS when a couple of hundred characters get dumped out in the space of less than a minute and them get sucked back up into the building even quicker on top of the existing Consuela’s vacuum working fine. If that didn’t choke the game on older devices, then it seems unlikely that it would now.

They did something to the game during the last event that caused this. Don’t know if it’s related to the investigation rooms getting broken, but it’s some change in the code, and not just older devices can’t handle the game any more.

    • The old devices info isn’t relating to the Consuela’s Vacuum but to an ongoing issue where older devices can’t handle the game as it updates. Seleratd isdues.

  7. I got the Christmas update, but still no Consuela vacuum. Just wanted to put it out there if anyone else is still missing it as well.

  8. Oh so excited to hurry up and get this, sucks Louis is the only one off the back to get cats, making it harder to do. But at least it’s only 4hrs
