Glitch Alert – Crashing & Loading Issues….

Just wanted to put up a post about a growing issue that seems to be impacting  players.

It would appear the game is once again playing up, either crashing or not loading on various devices. Support are looking into the issue.

Please reach out to support about this giving your device details, either via the website or email. You can also post these in thr comments here.

HOW TO CONTACT GAME SUPPORT

There’s 3 ways to do this:

The first and best way is through your game main menu, select Help & Support and then tap ‘Contact Us’.

Go to their website and use the ‘Contact’ button: https://jamcity.helpshift.com/a/family-guy-the-quest-for-stuff/

However if neither of these are possible, then you can contact support via email. The email address to use is – support@jamcity.com

  1. I was forced to update FGQFS last night and my crashing issues with the game started. However a number of my other apps also started crashing – coincidence?

It turns out that a lot of folks were having crashing issues last night with gmail, yahoo mail and being among the the various apps folks were mentioning. It was mentioned that for android users the likely culprit was Android System WebView app.

The Android System WebView app was already disabled in my system so I searched on how to enable and came across a mention if chrome causing crashing issues and in order to enable the WebView app chrome needed to be uninstalled/deactivated. I deactivated chrome, enabled WebView and the disabled it again. Reactivated chrome and my apps including FGQFS were working again.

I did lose open tabs I had when I deactivated chrome so if anyone intends to try this fix and has open tabs I suggest you make a note of them first.

I now have updated chrome to the latest update and so far everything seems to be ok

  2. Problem is Android System WebView. Update it and then game load.

  3. I did a little digging and found out on my Android phone that I needed to backout Android System Webview. It made most of my apps crash on the splash screen. Backing out that update fixed all of the issues.
