I eventually complained enough to tech support in game that they finally relented and “just this once” awarded me with the Sweater Giant Chicken, or whatever it was called. That made me even madder. Like, ‘oh, we’ll take pity on you just this time”. Do you like my money?
Sent them this today as I looked at the completion of the full event pass the other day. They use xp which counts up ‘things’ coming in. Like a character that drops 6 event currency as part of their task, the xp goes up by 6. In the mini event, once all the tasks and quests are done, you are down to 1 xp per thing occurring, like pterodactyls, or a character still dropping something. I hope they can smell the sarcasm built into the later stage of this:
“ Pass this on to your dev team. The VIP Mini Pass collection flaw stems from the assumption that the player will be collecting items in the same fashion as the full event pass, where any character that has an event task will be also collecting event currency. In the mini event, there is no possible way a user can collect upwards of 200 xp by the collection of one item per thing that is happening, like a task that still produces something, or a game thing, like clearing the pterodactyls did in the latest mini event. They really need to rethink the incredible jump in the numbers needed in the last stages of the event to account for that incredible decrease in xp coming in. That, or just be happy with the number of players not continuing to pay the same amount for the mini pass as they do for the full event pass where they can usually have a much greater chance of actually acquiring the final prize. And then have tech support be the ones who have to explain to customers that they really could have done it if they just wished and prayed hard enough, but hey Lil fella, we’ll toss you a bone ‘just this time’ just cuz we like your wallet, er, we like you so much.”
I do the cash option for just the pass because luckily I am able to right now, but charging the same price for a week event is silly. I did see that the XP totals have come down precipitously and ‘should’ be attainable. Just have to keep doing everything that drops event xp.
I wasn’t able to get enough xp points to get the special giant chicken character. I completed the event and because I paid for the “vip” pass, I should have gotten the final reward.
It is a no for me on the Mini Event Season Pass. Everything was going fine until 3 days ago. My xp barely moved since then. I am not going to get the 400xp. Epic fail. I will not purchase the mini again.
My experience is similar to what others are saying. Initially you move through each tier relatively quickly because you have more characters working for event items. As you complete item sets, you run out of opportunities to gain XP points to get to the end.
Here are some of the specific problems I noticed:
1. Most characters collecting items gain you 1 XP point per completed task. When you only have a small handful left getting currency, it moves very slowly. You get most of your points for clearing pterodactyls (a stupid choice for this event lol), but you have to wait for them.
2. That I can tell, you can’t trick the system. I tried waiting on unlocking Falconer Joe after all the materials were collected so I could keep sending characters on event related tasks. Regardless, the XP points were not always recorded in the season pass if all of those materials were already gathered, even if it still showed they were dropping the items. If you unlock the new characters, the event related tasks usually disappear, so it’s not an option at all, even for the inconsistent additional points.
Based on comments here and conversation in one of the FB groups, most people stall out around 200 to 250 on the last 48 hours or so.
Once you have enough of an item for a character the XP stops collecting from the action. It seems designed to fail. I messaged support, waiting to hear back.
I had done the previous mini pass, where they continually changed things as they got feedback about how horrible it was. I contacted them yesterday about basically finishing the event with 246 xp of the needed 400 and while I was effusively thanked for being a VIP player, I was told to just keep running characters (I think they must think all the characters that no longer drop items for the event have something to do when they don’t) as there were TWO WHOLE DAYS LEFT (their emphasis). I’ve been playing for 5 days and completing events and gotten just over halfway and they think I will get just under another half in two days.
When it eventually fails, I plan to continue complaining to get Sweater Giant Chicken, that is why I feel it worth doing. I do wonder how a week long pass costs the same as the three week event pass.
I can’t say I’m happy with the Season Pass this time. It cost the same as a 3 week season pass and I’m pretty sure I won’t be able to reach the end. I’ve finished all the task and have been faithful about play every 4 or 6 hours and I still needs lots of points.
I’ll know better about a 1 week season pass next time.
It seems impossible to achieve the 400xp needed to reach the end. Im at 298 right now and there aren’t enough things to earn the xp neeeded unless I spend a massive amount of clams to skip levels.
Hi, they are still testing it in different ways, some with clams others with previous characters/costumes. I’ve not been told of any plans for exclusives linked to this feature as yet, but it would seem way may go.
In my game, the costs for it are the same as for full event VIP Season Pass, so that’s a little upsetting, but, it does offer a lot (for me, I count the clams up since I have most characters).
For the ‘Free’ line, there are 3 Gravies, 10,000 coins, 10 clams, 5,000 XP.
For the VIP line:
75 clams or a Peter character (lumberjack, maybe? Has a stocking cap on and wearing blue),
75 medals,
1 decoration (pile of leaves looking thing),
3 Gravies (event material),
1 decoration ( dragon Herbert?),
100 clams or Peter character (as a bear?),
2 dinner plates (event material),
1 decoration (feast picnic table thing),
75 clams or Mtn Man Chris character,
A building,
3 Pine Cones (event material),
100 clams or Pimp Giant Chicken,
5 Gravies (event material),
A building,
Prize: Giant Chicken in a sweater, not sure name.
It was worth it to me for the 360 possible clams and the character. Some of the event materials come in handy. Buildings and decorations just go straight into Inventory for me.
I don’t think it should be the same price as the main pass as you get a lot less from it. I wouldn’t mind the £1.79 price range but don’t see myself investing in it.
Maybe if you could buy a pass that lasted a few events that would be nice.

Agree. This is going to be impossible to complete at this rate. Feels like we spent money for a character we can’t get.

Not a fan of the Mini Event Season Passes. It takes forever to even get halfway through it and the event only has 2 days left.

What is this Cascade Sales? I have no idea what the prices are since they only show the next three. Have you done it? Any characters or costumes?
