Hey Addicts it’s time to gather your thoughts….. I won’t give you a penny for them but I would appreciate hearing them. I want to chat about the returning events that have hit our games of late.
So in the comments I’d like your thoughts on this, are you enjoying chance pick up old content, enjoying the break or are you simply bored.

I feel this is the beginning of the end and that TinyCo is close to shutting things down. There really hasn’t been a reason to play the last couple of months. I’m still logging in when I remember to do so, but frequently I just don’t feel like doing so. I’m wondering if that’s the point.

Every so often is fine. Four in a row is offensive to longtime players. There are events I wouldn’t mind playing again, especially if there are characters not yet available in QHS. What bothers me the most is that you have a news board in the game which used to let us know about upcoming events. How about a little heads up for returning events? Or ask us our thoughts in the news board polls? What’s the point of having the news board anymore. Instead, you have upset users contacting you. If the game is ending, let us know. I’ve had developers in other games let players know when they were no longer adding content. I’ve been here since the beginning. I little heads up would be nice.

would be good too if they told us up front which returning characters will be part of these repeat events. Long time players can then check and see if they own any of them and decide whether or not to participate, instead of just going through the motions week by week to see whats on offer.

Sorry, Guys but this long term player is about to admit defeat and give up.
There is clearly something amiss behind the scenes regardless of what anyone is admitting. Returning events for the right reasons from time to time are fine though ive yet to experience a return event that I missed first time round.
They are not announced…. it takes me a short while to realise they are repeated.
This is boring now as others have stated. One – fine. Two…. too much…. but now FOUR IN A ROW??? come on. I now dont expect any new stuff and the game is about to fold. I certainly wont keep playing anymore if it’s just repeated events theres no point.
The only thing left to “do” for me is to try to collect the increasingly expensive QHS characters… but thats more and more difficult when the current cost is 20000, and at least with regular events happening you’d get boosts of 1000 or more a week… simply sending all characters back and forth going for gold is dull, and with the game not running in the background ill run out of money to use the ‘send all’ soon enough anyway.
There is clearly something awry. Something isnt right and nothing lasts forever and this game is inevitably going to close down eventually anyway I just wish they could be a bit more upfront about whats happening. Of course the game could just carry on forever on minimal staff if they just keep repeating old events and this feels like its begun now.

I’m glad they’re giving players a chance to pick up characters they may not have, but 4 repeat events back to back? I’m concerned they’re about to dismantle the game like Futurama did. I’ve been playing since the beginning and spent more money than I want to admit, but if the game is going away, please tell me now before I spend any more time or money on it.

I’ve been hoping for the return of A Grimm Knight in Quahog so I can obtain Princess Buttercup, Indigo Montoya, Miracle Max, and Vizzini.

They are great if you don’t have the characters yet. Nice to just have a break also. Never bored with this game. Frustrated sometimes, but never bored for me.

Make every single old character available for purchase for Clams, Coins, Stewie Bucks, or QHS Medals.

I messaged tinyco last week asking about this and have yet to receive a response. I’m not per se opposed to rerunning old events, but ideally they’d be from 5+ years ago. Or, they could alternate the reruns with current stuff.
But if they’re altogether done with doing new events, that’d be nice to know too.

I don’t like it. Once in a while, ok. But not over and over again. I contacted them and they replied, ” Things are in development ” and thanked me for my patience. I am curious though. When did they stop writing program for new events? I am thinking end of 2022.

Super boring, by the end of this event it will be 2 months without new content. Why can’t returning characters be in QHS?. I’m just sat here collecting clams, there is little point getting season passes when you have 95% of the stuff.

I’ve been playing this game for 9 years so I get that there’s a lot of content that many people may have missed out on. And I welcome them to the game. My wish is that if TinyCo is going to repeat an event, please make it evident in the event title or somewhere in the gameplay. With over 800 characters I’ve collected, it’s a challenge to look back through to see if I’ve already earned/unlocked a premium character. It would help me with the decision to get the VIP pass or put in the usual amount of effort. I would also like TinyCo to mix them up a little and not do so many repeat events in a row.

While I have often thought it would be nice to “take a break” for a bit, I would normally expect that to be 1 or 2 weeks. This extended break is perhaps a bit long. On the other hand, I gathered a LOT of extra Clams on the event where the cost was low and the payoffs high (due to having all the characters/costumes already). I almost doubled my Clams during that event, from about 800 to 1500! Of course, I lost my Fast Forward, in the process. 😦 But until a new event comes along, I am playing the minimum required to gather currency, to collect from the Season Pass, while still accumulating Historical Society points.

Yeah, it’s terrible. Maybe 1 or 2 year, but 4 in a row!? There is nothing in the event for older players to obtain. I have all the buildings and the characters / outfits. In addition I’m not collecting and clams or coins. Total stall.
The only way this could work and be interesting is to make any characters that required clams to obtain from the older events (which freemium players never got) and make THOSE something to work towards obtaining. Gives us long playing players something to do. For weeks now all I do is let characters out of QHS and then put them back.

Hi! I really appreciate that TinyCo gives us an opportunity to get some old stuff. It’s really cool. And I hope in future events, new or old, there will be mo original characters rather than reskinned Peter, Louis and others.

I’m okay with the returning games but I wish they’d include some content for those of us who have been playing for a long time. The Season Pass if helpful to earn missed character/costumes but sometimes earning the points can be difficult.
Something to tell us everyone who earns games points would be very helpful.

We have been asked many times “what characters would you like to see again” and this unfortunately, or fortunately depending on your tenure with the game, is how that happens. As the show lives on, so does the game, drawing new users. As long term players, we need to accept that the game makers are re-running events just to give people a shot at characters they may have missed. We likely won’t get the superstar characters, it would cost too much to re-license them. I can say I have been able to get a couple characters I didn’t on the first go round.
I’m not bored, per se, but wouldn’t mind mixing them in occasionally rather than going a few months straight.

Bored! If they want to make new old content available again, that’s what the historical society/season pass/stewiebucks shop is for. Running multiweek events that don’t contain any new characters (or even costumes) is incredibly lame.

The last few were a bore as I had everything. For this most recent event, I don’t have anything so it’s nice to play.
I imagine that’s what it was like for others with the previous ones, so I’m fine with that.
Hoping that TinyCo/Jam City are gearing up some new features for the game and not game closure after what happened to FWOT.

there’s 24 years and over 400 episodes of family guy to draw from so repeating events is lazy and uninspired.
appreciate for newer players it’s nice to get some new characters but id say most of the commuity are long-time veterans and repeating events comes across boring and feels like the death knell for the game.
tbf the only reason i’m still playing this event is because i’m an addict otherwise i’d have 3 weeks off.
