A Tale of Two Cities….

For over a decade there’s been a tale of two cities in the App Store, it started when The Simpsons: Tapped Out hit the app stores in 2012, then 2 years later Family Guy Quest For Stuff entered the fray. Sadly there was no twinning of these towns for many as they felt they had to pick a side, Springfield or Quahog, but some enjoyed both, they looked past their similarities and celebrated their differences. I was one of those, so it’s with sadness I read the pop up in my tiny Springfield on Thursday telling us the end is nigh.

FGQFS may be on life support, with the odds of survival low, but where there’s an app there’s still hope, however TSTO is at end of life care, as the game will be nuked from EA servers on 24th Jan 2025. So for those of you who enjoyed both games it’s sad news, especially for the community of players built across the addicts sites.

For those who played and stopped you’ve time to log in, grab free donuts to buy all the returning characters that are coming, and of course take a screenshot of your town as a keepsake, or to make into a tea towel or a jigsaw.  But seriously I’ll miss my tiny town of Springfield as much as I’ll miss my tiny Quahog when the day comes when EA flush all our little towns down the world’s largest toilet.

  1. I would like to see a book containing all of the strips. All the events and side quests. It would be worth a bit of real money that would let me relive my own fond memories over the years, and see some of the dialogs that I accidentally clicked through.

  2. I do wish that they would be as honest about Family Guy as they have been about the Simpsons.

Weve been asking since January 2023 when new content stopped and a year ago we were promised that there was new content coming and yet…. another year on there is none.

Of course, many will have given up and left. Sure you can attract new players with all these repeated events and perhaps the game isn’t really supposed to endure for any one player beyond a few years.

For the last 18 months I have opened the game twice a day to send all to QHS and slowly worked my way through the list. I have 2 characters left – level 152 and 153 and then… that’s it. Nothing more to do and the app will just die for me.

A real shame they haven’t added more content as promised but they haven’t and I suspect most long standing players are gone now. End of life is inevitable and they should really just pull the plug.

  3. quite sad about this as it means family guy is gone fairly soon as well. I’ve been signed up to the Simpsons game since 2012 but just when back in.
the final quest line was quite sad and emotional for sure

thank you for all your work on these website over the years though 🙂

  5. Well that will suck. As for me, the only condolences is I have been a tight wad penny pincher and not given any money on this inevitable ending of games. It may be due to players like me in not supporting the developers, but I also must state it is cycle if life in that some newer will come along and replace the game I have grown fond of. Anyway that’s my two cents worth of blathering.

  6. I really didn’t think Family Guy would be the last one standing after Futurama.
