Hello There Butt Grabbers!
Well true to form…TinyCo has another something in store for us this weekend. Before we get to the NEW stuff let’s just get one quick PSA outta the way. TinyCo released a new update on Android Devices (v 1.0.12.1) be sure to hit up your Play Store and download it. It would appear it’s just fixes for some glitches…and it’s slowed the mummy spawn rate WAY down. Before they were slightly out of control.
Again…this is ONLY on Android. (No word if/when on iOS).
So onto the new stuff…
There are some cool looking sarcophagi in the game now. One resembling Brian and the other Stewie. So just what are they?
Let’s break down just what each one contains inside…

I’m with you…..I see the update sitting there…..and there it will stay for awhile. I’ll wait until I get the “Swordsman…Man of Danger”. Not hearing enough positive things said about the “exciting” new way to spend YET more clams.

OUCH!, so I thought I would gamble $20 bucks on the stewie sarco…I got three dance floors in a row, then the DJ booth, and ended with 1600 butts. Talk about a short end of the stick. That’s the last time I fall for that!

Not sure what I think of this event right now. It’s been fun (ish) but I’m almost positive as a free player I’m not going to get the Man of Danger (if they increase idol creation the last week I suppose it’s possible), and there are two more past him? So many clam buildings, which is just a bit obnoxious in an event. I’d prefer if there were more ‘optional’ clam deco buildings and not so many stacking things in events. I have the 2/4 premium characters, and just about to get the 18k Silver Medal with 15 days to go. I know I could have done better than I have, but not enough to make me think 50k idols was possible….
Just for reference, I’m also about to hit level 40 and have over 200k banked. I play a lot.

I thought there were a buttload of mummies in my town; Now I know why. I’m on iOS and don’t care about most of the Egyptian themed content, because it is not in the main FG storyline. Aside from that, I think TinyCo is doing a great job and even though sometimes it feels like I’ll never be able to collect all of the items to move on, I always do. I haven’t spent a clam yet and have actually been rewarded with hundreds of them, as opposed to donuts in TSTO. All of the characters are integral ones, with voices, too! I do play both games diligently and am in about the same progress stage in both. Keep it up TinyCo and FGaddicts!

I can imagine the user rate of play went down with this event, just glitches everywhere, clam heavy items and just people sick of waiting over and over for a item to drop to finally get Cleveland. When Frustration sets in to much and people leave. When the new buildings are released, I can see another 400 total clams going for at least 2 of the buildings. I see the digust happening in many people. I wonder how many addicts will kick the habit real soon.

Im really angry…im a premium player so i dont mind paying real money once in a while, but i just played the stewie thing twice and BOTH times got the worst 1600 moon idols…i felt like yolo and boy that was a mistake…it just makes me sad that i NEVER win at these things and pretty much just blew all my clams…had high hopes and now they are crushed…i will post this on the next what the hell segment too… 😦

We know them too. However, we don’t post spoilers until they’re confirmed by TinyCo (which they won’t do) or arrive in the game. It’s just our policy on both sites. So many things are in the game files and you never know what might get changed at the last minute. Especially with this company, they’re constantly changing things that are already in the game…

So, correct me if I’m wrong, but the mew update takes away free moon idols(by reducing mummy spawn rate) and replaces the with a way to
waste clams/actual money?

I guess I wasn’t careful enough and my phone finally updated itself an hour ago. Until then I was able to get two streams of mummies both from the phone and by switching over to my tablet which had the update as they are treated separately for some reason. I was easily scooping up an extra 500 idols/hour while it lasted. Oh, well… what day is it? I should probably put on pants….

Is it possible to post the odds for each of the prizes? Bought two capsules and got a couple of moon idols + the small shrine, which is a good payout. I am now tempted to buy the sarcophag, but without knowing the odds I think it’s not worth risking my last clams.

I don’t know if this has happened for anyone else or if you guys talked about this,but the day of the update I was on day 2 (3,4,5? lol) of needing 1 inner tube to complete Cleveland. Despite having Chris and Quagmire on constant rotation they weren’t giving up the goods, but after the update (and finding yet again no items from them) I clicked a few mummies and a female mummy ended up dropping one! Has anyone else gotten quest items from the mummies like that?

Alissa, this probably won’t happen, but wouldn’t it be interesting if TinyCo put Diane, Mr. Weed, and Loretta in the game even though all of them were killed off on the show? That would make for some cool gameplay and tasks I think… Like other collectible characters, these three can be under the caption ‘Back From the Dead’. You think TinyCo would consider them for a future event or update?

Another update to upset me and crush my hope that TinyCo would create a fair game… I missed out on a lot of things in TSTO so vowed to become a completionist in TQFS. This event I must have already spent around 1700 clams. Including 2 of the big shrines so I have a chance at all the prizes. Now to introduce a clam based game based on chance with a ‘rare item’ is crazy. Especially when most of the other items aren’t worth 125 clams at all, when compared to the characters you can spend your clams on.
Just a very disappointed player who hoped this game would be a lot more. This event must be absolutely horrible for casual free players.

I m also a longtime TSTO player and a completist there. My first impression of FamilyGuy compared to TSTO: its worse and better when it comes to spending real money. Worse because a lot of stuff cost you clams or without clams it takes you a ridiculous long time to get stuff. Better because there is a lot of stuff you have to pay for, but this is mostly decorations and not important buildings or characters. So far you can be a freemium player or small payer and still get the essential stuff…
So don’t be a completist if you don’t have money to spend, but be a selective completist and enjoy the game…

In all honesty I don’t see how a freemium player can get anywhere near most of the prizes. In this new little event it would have been nice to have a clam based prize, and a smaller event currency/coin prize.
TinyCo had a great opportunity to battle in EA, instead they’ve just been blown away by the Stonecutter’s event, sadly

Your right the only people who are able to get everything are the people who fork out hundreds or more likely the people who hack. Hacking is unbelievably rampant in this game yet tinyco is doing nothing about it. I have even reported people yet they do nothing.
Having already spent a substantial amount of money on this game, I will spend no more until they do something about it.
Its very disheartening to see others get everything from the game without putting anything into it.
The “economy” of games like this are important if you wish to encourage people to keep playing and spending money.
Having a button in the multiverse that would allow reporting of hacking would go a long way to restoring integrity in the game.

Lots of people complaining about this event and the amount of premium purchases and I agree its annoying. As a free player Already now there is noway I’ll be able to collect all the ‘butt prizes’, in fact I dont even think it is possible which is a real bummer.
Thats one thing I like more about the simpsons, every event (apart from easter) it was easily possible to get all the ‘event currency items’, family guy it clearly isnt, especially now the mummy rate is getting lowered (alot), that was most peoples main butt income.
But other than that I feel the amount of clam to coin purchases (for events) are very simlair in the two games. These random boxes are like the homer buddah and mystery box, so I cant really see why people can complain about them (when comparing to tsto).
I had big hopes for this event but its safe to say it is lacking something and I think that something is just simply the fact that all free players (or even low spenders) knew from the first few days in its impossible to collect all the prizes.

I think people’s problem with the capsules compared to the mystery boxes is that 1) They’ll never be giving you a free one, unlike tsto and 2) There are multiple items you have no way of getting without buying the 120 clam a pop Stewie capsule. 120 is nothing to sneeze at either. Consider how much you’d likely have to spend to get all the exclusives when you factor in misses and doubles.
With tsto there is only one exclusive mystery box item ( the lemon tree ) and plenty of people, like me, got it for free just by collecting our free mystery box at the end of each week. Heck I even got two premium characters from the mystery box. That was when the game was still new though and I don’t think the box even gives characters anymore. Even if you do decide to pay for a tsto mystery box or Buddha you will end up paying far less than 120 donuts for it.

I’m so happy that 99% of the premium stuff is glorified garbage that I don’t even want in my town. The only prize I looked forward to was the 25 clams that I can put toward premium characters. Everything else will be in my inventory forever because it is hideous.

As mentioned elsewhere, it is very annoying to get these push notifications in iOS about the Sarcophagi when there is nothing there. They can obviously distinguish between the iOS and Android users so why can’t they just send the push notifications to those that actually have the update? Bad TinyCo 😦

LOL…..so funny you wrote that because a minute ago, I too got a “push” on my iPad. I thought, great, the update is ready…….went to the App Store…NOPE!…went to the game…NOPE! But no worries, found another 21 mummies who were ready to add to my “booty bounty”. 😉

I am a realllllllly bad gambler…so on the fence…i dont care for he small one but i like some of the large ones prizes…but i only have 204 clams…1 chance, dont want them to go to waste…what should i do? Advice!!!

Personally…I wouldn’t spend the clams. But that’s mean. I honestly think the premium characters are much better than any of the prizes in the event.

So I got the new update (android, Note 3), and tried to open the Brian sarcophagus, and if it was a credit moon idols prize, I pulled my battery out IMMEDIATELY, thinking that the game probably saves every so many seconds and that I could get away with not taking my clams. It actually worked the first two tries (both time got the worst idol prize), and the third and fourth time I didn’t do it fast enough and it took my clams and gave me idols. I had 100 clams at the beginning, now I’m down to 50. Has anyone else tried this? If we can get it to work every time, we could be rich in clams!

Meh. Not missing much on these chance based prizes. iOS player here. Losing my interest in this game fast. As a sometime premium player, I just may become a freemium player when my clams run out and this event is over. TinyCo can keep their butt shrines. Up theirs! 😉

Have you had anyone else mention there was a glitch with the iOS roll out at the start of the event?
I got all the moon idol store items available at the beginning of the game for free. They were all in my store when I went to play but since moon idols hadn’t been implemented yet they were all marked as free. I destroyed all my roads and stored all but the most critical buildings and flooded my Quahog with oasis. Thanks to that I cleared all my blocks and will be getting my $500,000 achievement any day now. It still looks like crap but with all the blocks cleared I was able to put back all the currency earning buildings with some semblance of order so my earning power is even higher now.

Yes, a few players mentioned this worked for them before the event hit. But because it’s no longer working we didn’t do a full blown post about it, didn’t want to tick off players who missed out. But it’s awesome you were able to cash in! 🙂

Had one of those also, with all the idol payout adjustments, I think I’ll be winning all the “prizes” (Only ones I actually like are the volcano, 25 clams and the Stewie Sphinx),….the rest, meh!

Epic update!!! I had 1071 clams to start. I was able to get the Disco Floor + the DJ Booth, And The Badonkadonk Shrine!!! I also got 500 clams grinding it out. So going from 1071 ended with 371 clams. I had 78,000 Idols and ended with 97,000 Idols. The first two Sarcophaguses were the Shrine then the DJ Booth. So on the whole it was worth it big time!!!!!

Anybody know actual odds for prizes? For example, 10% chance for 1600 idols, 5% chance for 150 clams, 1% chance for Badonkadonk Shrine, etc? Sorry, but I don’t gamble much in rl, and I’m freemium and saving for Consuela… but might open one or two if I knew the odds! Thanks!

Was dropping from mummies. I noticed today that option disappeared. You also cannot collect the inner tubes from Bonnie abusing the pool jets.

Is it bad if I’m ok with the update taking it’s sweet time hitting iOS? I really like those extra mummies giving me all that sweet booty and I know I’m not going to take advantage of the sarcophagi…seriously? Spending sweet clams on a CHANCE at items? Yeah, no thanks! I’d be happy spending coins, or booty. But hands off my precious clams!!
When this event first hit I was soooooo excited, but I’m really getting sick of feeling like the only way to really enjoy this game is to spend a ton of money on clams. I’m rooting for TinyCo so bad, but they just keep letting me down. Sad panda 😦

I am in total agreement with you!! I was impatiently waiting to find out what this weekend’s update was but its so underwhelming that I don’t even care if it doesn’t come to iOS. I’m also sick of feeling like the only way to enjoy the event and get the most out of it is to spend a ton of money on clams, which sucks because up until now I’ve really enjoyed the game.
With that said however, I get it. TC has to make money from the game somehow and up until the event they’ve given us a pretty fair selection of items and characters that only cost coins. I hope that TC continues to listen to the players and adds more coin items or lowers the clam costs of premium items for the next time they have a long event like this one.

I’m an iOS user too and agree with a lot of your points. The mummy rate is GREAT. Left a cleared town for an hour, came back to find about 30 mummies. Had one female pay out 40 idols!! Also got 1 clam from a male. Many of the males were paying out 10 idols each. Thank you Apple for your slow approval process…lol.

Hi, I’m looking for a game where pretty much everything costs a weeks wages to play, is this one any good? lol jokes aside, this latest development is a bit cringe worthy. I’m looking forward to the other districts opening and the new characters. I think Tiny Co. need to make their events a bit shorter or balance out the premium ratio.

I used to like this game a lot and thought it might even displace TSTO for me, but I’ll be honest, the never-ending cash grab is becoming obnoxious. Now they introduce a premium gambling wheel for event currency and exclusive items. I can’t wait to see what kind of amazing offers they have in store for us over the next few weekends.
People complained about EA being greedy during the Easter event, but this event is much more overtly pay-to-win. Together, my premium shrines (small / medium / large) earn me more than all of my characters combined. I can’t imagine what kind of time a freemium player is having.

I’m at 14,500 idols total with no premium items. They are going to have to increase the idols a whole lot more before it’s over if I’m going to get every prize.

This hasn’t shown up in my iOS yet so here are a few questions for the BBGs*:
1) Did the new content load with the Android update or on it’s own as an in-app update? (If update, see #2)
2) Any word from TinyCo how the approval process is progressing for the Apple update?
3) Riddle: An empty bus pulls up to a stop and 10 people get on. At the next stop 5 people get off and twice as many people get on as at the first stop. At the third stop 25 get off.
How many people are on the bus at this point?

Opened one royal sarcophagus & got the disco floor. For everyone’s info, it does not disappear from the prize list after you’ve won it (i.e. the odds on other prizes get no better). The floor is pretty cool, but NOT 120 donuts cool 😦 There is absolutely no way that I open any more sarcophagi.
I am also QUITE bummed about the serious scaling back of the mummy spawn rate. This afternoon there were two males spawning every minute, and two females every 10th minute. It was really fun and profitable. I farmed them for about 90 minutes and made about 2,000 butts. I was just settling back in tonight to grab some more serious butt action when I made the mistake of updating (shoulda visited the site & read about it first).
Anyway, back to farming ‘Surf the Bird’ and the 10-minute mummies…

I opened it a few times starting with 450 clams. I must be seriously lucky because I now have the large shrine as well as 950 total clams and the lotus pond and the dance floor AND an extra 10k butts

I am a personal border in the game were I try and get everything so I don’t think it is cool when a game puts items in that can only be won with real money but its a gambel if you will even get it.

I play on ios and I’m not upset that the update hasn’t come through yet. It’s probably been submitted, but knowing apple they’re sitting on it or taking their sweet time. I have had a couple of minor changes such as the inner tube quest now include killing femal zombies for a chance at one. Also, my volcano erupts now. When I touch it it fires off where it hadn’t before. It may or may not have been mentioned or noticed but I threw it in there anyways. Thanks for your site.

I haven’t had there turn up yet. I got 2 push notifications about them and when I open the app it zooms in on the pyramid, but nothing’s there. Maybe iOS has to wait a bit longer for this? I have tried force closing the app as well.

Hi Bunny! Not sure if you’re talking about my comment in the bug post but after I accidentally bought the Stewie sarcophagus that won me 250 clams I ended up buying another one with the winnings. I ended up winning the Badonkadonk Shrine (2000 moon idols every 18 hours), though I feel like I’ve been insanely lucky with those two sarcophagus purchases!

Wait… If it’s going to be on IOS? I’m not one to complain, however, how is it fair to release an update only for one device? That doesn’t make the most sense from a business standpoint and extremely frustrating from a fan/gamer/spender on IOS.

As an android user, I could make the same complaint for the Gold Peter that was iOS only exclusive. 😉

I am just saying…patience. It takes longer for iOS to hit.
Also, I was pointing out your statement you made. It is not fair to say “why do they get something and not us” when it was iOS that got the exclusive item. That is all I was saying.
Just hang in there. Update will hit soon enough for others.

I believe that TinyCo has mentioned that Android updates tend to go through approval more quickly and therefore usually appear before iOS. One can argue that at least us iOS players will see it eventually, whereas Android will probably not see those “iOS exclusives”.
