Hello There Clammers!
We’ve seen just about EVERYTHING with the spawn rates of the mummies during the Kingdom of the Full Moon Event. Mummies spawning at a normal rate, mummies spawning so fast you couldn’t keep up with them, back to normal levels & now some are reporting, insanely SLOW spawn rates.
According to TinyCo…the mummies should spawn at a rate of 2 male mummies every 30 minutes and 2 female mummies every 4 hours. You can have a max of 24 of each (male & female) in your town at once. However, it’s been all over the place during this event!
So don’t be surprised if you see mummies spawning fast or slow (some reporting a rate of 3/hour)…it’s all part of the “full moon experience”….I think.
How have the mummies been spawning for YOU? Are you finding them arriving at a decent rate or way to slow? Are you able to keep up with them? Or annoyed they’re not spawning fast enough? Sound off in the comments below, you know we LOVE hearing from you!

For me, they are spawning about 12/hour and even though I play at least 6 times a day and bought premium items to gather more booty, Im pretty sure I wont exceed the 35k mark. There IS stuff I just wont be able to get

I was happy grinding mummies with the game open while I worked at my desk. It was giving me 2000-4000 a day without too much effort. If this patch does drop it to 4 mummies an hour, I’m feeling kind of done with this game.

I was getting super fast spawns, getting maybe 4 mummies a minute, id leave the game open and grind it out for hours, currently sitting on 101k moon idols. But spawn rate has dropped to very low after last bug fix

Also I don’t like the fact the you spend quite a bit of money to get premium items then when you collect all the items you building does not produce much money! Im tired of games that don’t give you bang for buck if I spend 100$ should be able to get more clams it lower price or give more payout not worth the money when like I said you get all the items

Ive been tryin to get rambo Lois for a month and a 1/2 now..is this normal??? I have everything needed except 4 headbands… which are dropping at a EXTREMELY slow rate. I also have the video arcade which has given me 1 headband in 3weeks.. day and night i make her practice fighting just to get nothing after the two hours? Helppp. Thank you

My husband just statred to play this weekend. I’m wondering if he’ll even be able to get cleveland, I mean it took me almost the whole event to unlock him and my husband gets the game 1 week before the event ends. Will we still be able to unlock 80’s cleveland after the event? I’m having trouble with the drop rates if the items needed.

My rates have been all over the place which has been the main thing that made me lose any interest in the event as you just can’t tell what you might have a chance of getting out of the time spent. That and the fact that I wasn’t crazy about any of the prizes other than the free clams earlier on. I still haven’t even got the camel yet because I just basically gave up on this. I click on the mummys when I go into my game but I have only really been trying to unlock Clevelands new outfit as it looks like I should be able to but to be honest even if I don’t I won’t care that much.
I hate to say it as I really wanted to like this game but I’m starting to feel like 1 tv show town might be enough for me 😦

I’m actually shocked by how much money and how many moon idols we actually receive per action, it should at least be about 100 moon idols for an 8 hour task

This event has had so many problems and the worst part is it goes on and on. The drop rates made it take way longer for some of us to get Cleveland despite playing consistent intervals. The story lines were very short and weren’t fun at all. When the mummies were coming at a fast rate I thought it gave us all a chance to obtain all the prizes, now its virtually impossible. Sure spend a bit and you’ll get them. TSTO had events where there was a wheel or boxes of chance but it gave you hope and motivation. This event just drags ands sending the same characters to do the same thing is tedious and boring. I hope they add something to jump start this game or I’ll probably be jumping ship quickly.

I was getting about 2 male mummies per minute and 1 female mummy every 4 or 5 minutes or so. Now they appear all at once when I sign in and then don’t spawn at all if I have the game open.
What the heck is going on? Anyone else feel like they’re playing a game with a little kid who keeps changing the rules as they go along?

This is my same experience… I was getting a fair number of mummies per minute when the game was open, but after I downloaded the “bug fix” update yesterday on my iphone, they don’t appear when I am playing the game, but a bunch will show up after the game is closed for a TBD period of time. Ugh! I guess I shouldn’t have updated. 😦

I am not a fan of the clam economy in this game. Instead of having premium items that enhance overall gameplay, they only benefit you during an event or while you gather costume items. Then they bottleneck drop rates to compel you to pay for them. It’s a punitive model and takes all the fun out of building Quohog. I’m probably done after this event is over.

I haven’t counted but it certainly feels like I have a ton of mummies. I work to get them all cleared and there are always more! Not complaining, I’m still trying to get the camel.
What happens to our butts when the event is over? I haven’t spent any (other than for costumes or characters.) if we will lose them I will spend them! Would be awesome if they converted to money at the end of the event!

I bet the moon idols will go away and won’t turn into cash. So far I have unlocked everything and I’m trying to rack up my totals, hopefully I have enough to claim the last “original character” aka King Butt or whatever the name is before the event ends.

i liked how it was at the beginning when they spawned at insane rates i have about 25k idols there is no way for me to get the top prize with 7 days left, it feels like they planned the event poorly that u needed the same characters to get cleveland and his costume and get idols , im hoping the next district unlocks soon after this event

Mine went from fast to almost noting back to eh… I’m still trying to get the silver medal and with a week to go I don’t see myself completing it. I’m having enough trouble getting Cleveland’s first costume. 4 hour actions with little drop rate.

Quick question…i finally have cleveland to level 5 and unlocked his dance, but i have peter on the 80s cleveland item. Will the quests that clevelands dance is on expire when the event ends or stay until we finish them? Such as “night of booze” quest

Not sure if the quests will leave when the event ends. My guess is there’s a “kill date” in there which will show when the task will leave the task list. However, it’s hard to say if the kill date is the end of the event or later. This is the first big event, so we don’t have a history to go on.

I notice them becoming less and less, but I just got the gorilla. I wonder what the last prize will be and hopefully I can get enough moon idols to claim the final prize whatever that may be.

I’m getting ten male mummies an hour and maybe two female flashers every five. At 49,000 due to having day off to spam 1 hour tasks repeatedly today ad naseum. Got 80’s clevland early this morning after hitting an unexpected four sheen drops in a row. I couldn’t get a headband or eyeliner to drop in my six or seven weeks playing this game, but whatever. The irritating thing is I feel at the end of the pyramid event We will be given the choice to buy the last remaining free prizes with clams. They keep handicapping the spawn rates which were working wildly in my favor and they haven’t given a moon idol buffer in weeks (double for premiums and certain costumes) they should just open up the flood gates and have all characters output double idols for the last week.

I received 80’s Cleveland pretty quickly, like in 3-4 days using no clams. An immediate “Yay!” went up. 4-5 tasks later his dialogue was over. “That’s it?!?” No more “Yay!”
This is my major beef with this game now as seen largely in this event: no story/dialogue emphasis.
When it first came out it was new and funny and there was a lot of great back and forth between characters (Quagmire saying “Skynet is coming and you’re playing this game” is still my fav line). There’s little of this now. Now it’s just tap and wait, get asked to spend clams, tap and wait, get asked to spend clams, tap and wait, get asked to spend clams, and so on.
It helped this game that it came out during the horrible Easter event TSTO was in, however now the roles are switched – the TSTO event going on currently is awesome and this Pyramid event here, though it initially started out fun, is just a lame waiting game and clam drive.
At this point I’m basically holding out for Stewie to see what it’s like then.

I could not agree with you more. I have no more clams and will not buy anymore. I am also waiting to see when and what the Stewie release will be like. Coincidentally, after the cluster***k of an event! I decided to research TinyCo a bit more. This game is a microcosm of the leadership/upper management at the company. I even looked at reviews from current and past employees and it seems like a bad place to work at. Rant over, I just can’t support this company anymore, so I’ll be a freemium player. I can’t wait for the event to be over.

The spawn rate keeps changing for me. The last few days I hardly saw any. Since yesterday they are spawning so fast I can’t keep up. Oh and is unlocked the new Cleveland outfit this evening 🙂 yeah !!!! I am also 200 booty away from the camel prize

That’s exactly the rate I’m getting on my iPad. Plus, the males payout no less than 2 idols (but average 5)……and the female mummies payout 10 (but pay 20 and 40 quite often). I just leave the game open while watching TV, then tap them all when they start over running the joint.

Same here, 2 everything minutes and a female mummy every 5 minutes, untill i “updated” the game yesterday, now it’s more like 1 male mummy every 15 minutes. So TinyCo thank you for the so called bug fix.

Starting Friday, I was getting 2 males every minute and 2 females maybe every eight minutes. But they’d only spawn if I was in the game. So, I just kept the window open while I watched TV and cleared out mummies at commercials. I went from ~47,000 idols to ~71,000 in two and a half days. Alas, they’re spawning at the “normal” rate now.

I have sent tiny co a ticket about a bug that keeps happening to me in which I crash and lose clams that I obtained from drops and visits and after 4 fking days they replied to me….. “We fixed a bug involving mummy spawn rates” RLLY????THATS EXACTLY WUT I WANTED TO HEAR!I DIDNT WANT TO HEAR AN EXPLANATION ABOUT MY 15-20 CLAMS! Just….no words to describe the retard level

I’m behind on collecting my moon idols and the mummies were spawning at like 2 a minute for me so it was great and useful but since the recent app update that was supposed to fix bugs, the mummies now spawn at like 2 every 20minutes so it’s really annoying

At 96 males a day and 2-10 booty each drop I can’t see how the prize requirements are reasonable now… If you’re really lucky that means you’ll get 500-1000/day max. If they intended that for the whole event anything over 25-30K would seem unreasonable little lone close to ~100K for whatever the last prize will be

Read “Cyber Silly”‘s post below. He’s probably right. My game “crashed” this morning with an immediate update. Before then, I could keep the game open and have mummies spawn at a decent rate. Now, the mummies won’t spawn for me at all unless I turn off the game and wait the predetermined time for spawning, then go back in and have the expected mummies flood in.
That’s a true WTH. The update that forces me NOT to play. Tiny Co responded to my help text by explaining the update fixed the spawn rate to make it what they intended. To me that’s so sloooooow that there is NO POSSIBLE WAY to get the highest prizes unless you spend real money.

For me, the perfect spawning was last week. My game crashed every week since this event came by and I found that last week was the most stable.
The original (and the current) rates were dreadful. A few every hour? (or 15minutes) didn’t make any sense. There were people who defended that they would spawn out-of-game (when you’re not actively playing) and you can click on the mummies upon their exit at the pyramid.. I found holding all the mummies hostage at the base until you came back made my game crash. This weekend’s update (to “fix” the original bug) crashed my game upon startup. It was mildly annoying that I would need to start up twice to get into the game. I also didn’t trust it because I was afraid of losing the few mummies I did receive because of the crashes (since you’d lose your spots).
I thought the spawning every minute in game was the perfect medium. It was so good and stable that I didn’t realize it was actually a bug. It was pretty spot on, came every minute like it was mechanical. As a programmer, I thought it was clean. However, others argued that it stopped mummy spawning if you weren’t playing. It encouraged me to play because my game wasn’t crashing and the spawning was consistent. It also bought my game up to a realistic number of idols though I’m behind with this game coming to a close.
Another thing that is angering me is the fact that TinyCo made it near difficult or close to impossible for anyone who is playing free to obtain the top prizes. I don’t have the means to gamble or pay absurd amounts to play, so I’ve been playing meticulously.
I acknowledge that not everyone will get all the prizes, but premium items should supplement and help those willing to pay for that privilege to gain those items quickly, but they should still be set where free players can still reasonably obtain those top prizes also.

I’ve been making the most of the minute spawn rate (no update for me thanks) by turning off my screen lock, and leaving it plugger in with the app running while I am working or doing other thing. then every time I have a chance to check I have a quahog full of mummies. gotten over 7000 a day with actions and the mummy herding.
Slowed down my efforts when I got the pyramid, but after thinking it over 90,000 is totally doable with a little effort. So I’m gonna go for it and aim for King Butt (assuming he’s gonna be 90,000, lol)

That’s exactly how I’ve done it! I went from 25000 last Tuesday to 80000 today. I think I’m going for at least 100000 tho because knowing this company it will be way mor than what we expect

DO NOT UPDATE! I have the June 20th update still sitting at the App Store also…..I currently have the minute spawn rate running. The “update”…I have read….will “fix” this. 😉

Good to know! I also have the 2-3 per min spawn rate, while logged in, and haven’t done the June 21st ios update. Ill keep crushing mummies while the gettin’ is good, currently 7-10k moons a day.

Super slow for me. Yesterday I only got mummies if I left the game open and waited. Now nothing. I’m still 5000 short of the pyramid and there is no way I will make it at this rate.
