Personally, I purchased Arnold as soon as I could. I thought he was a good buy (as far as premium celebrity characters go in this game), at 250 clams he’s on par with what other celebrities have been (and still wayyy cheaper than Bryan Cranston). Not only does he have a couple of hilarious outdoor animations, but he’ll also provide you with some major help during this event. Not only will he help you earn additional hearts (Love or Hate), but he’ll also play a role in helping to clear the next “squatters” that are released in the game (the perfume sprayers). He’s also voiced with some HILARIOUS sayings…and yes it appears that they were recorded just for the game.
In the end it’s your call. What you buy and what you don’t buy is your own personal choice we can only guide you on the facts and let you know what we did and what we think. But don’t purchase it until YOU are sure. ALL SALES ARE FINAL!

I can’t afford to spend real money and I only have like 30 clams cos my 2 year old keeps spending them for me 😦 I was saving up for Cleveland so now neither him or Arnold are gonna be in my game 😦 very sad news. I hope they bring him back one day as a free character so I might actually be able to get them

We got Ida a while ago had no problems collecting items without out Arnold but don’t know what the benches are about do we have to fix the walk trough to go further?

Progress through the qusetline. It’ll guide you when to open the next bench. Just keep playing via the questline 😉

I caved in and spent $5 to buy Arnold, because of all the quotes he says. I had 120 Clams, bought $5 in Clams, and the game gave me more Clams, so I got to keep the Clams I had. Yay!

Are you on iOS? Apple changed their pricing for various markets in the last couple of months. It’s across all games. TinyCo’s base prices have not changed.
However, if you use an Android device the price for clams will go down. As Android didn’t change their pricing like Apple did.

Apple Japan didn’t change anything. Prices are the same for all the clam packages over here. Good thing too, otherwise I probably would have balked at buying Arnold.

More squatters?!? So right now I have couples, chumba woombas, and dogs (what are they for anyway?) all crowding one short piece of road left in my town. I can hardly tap on one without hitting others.

I got him straight away. His jet takes up so much room. I need more space. I’ve bought all the land available but it’s not enough. I’m having to start putting stuff in storage which I don’t want to do. I want to display it all proudly like on TSTO.

My misses bought Arnie. The valentines card deal. She placed the jet.
Now its all vanished . No Arnie . No Jet . No cards.
And on the side of the screen in the task boxes it says get Arnie. But the clams and get the cards. Like she never done it.

I would contact TinyCo ASAP and let them know what happened. If the clams are gone from her account and you didn’t receive either contact them right away and let them know.

Try rebooting the device also! My wife bought some clams and something else during one of the previous events and it disappeared. TinyCo asked her to reboot the device and everything came back after.

Arnold had been really putting himself out there, lately. I’ve always admired him, so it was a no brainer to get this brawny character. Even if all he does is to just be after the event that’s good enough for me. 250 clams for a premium character is reasonable.
Considering that Tinyco is allowing the Rite of Passage glitch to continue (you have to know they are well aware by now) some of us are actually getting Arnold for pocket change.

I had to get the Governator, of course! I wish he had more than just two outdoor tasks but the large number of cool audio bytes more than makes up for that small shortfall… you can’t have everything 😜

They have brought back almost everyone else, so why not?
Good way to hustle some clams out of those who didn’t get him before.
You don’t seem to be able to skip levels in the love/hate prizes, so forcing people to buy KAM in order to get to the ‘free’ Hot Meg isn’t that far out of an idea…

I don’t know… these premium characters are still only useful during their introduction events and then hardly used again. Premiums should ALWAYS have an involvement as they are paid for.
and I had expected Arnold to have a task involving Predator.

They should always be used no matter what quest or event and have a guarantee drop.

The main value of the premium charachters is the entertainment value after the event. For Bruce and Arnold, its a no-brainer for some.
But Bryan Cranston was still a rip off. ;P

I will probably regret this later when something else I want more comes up, particularly as I am a freemium player and thus get limited clams (Jesus has been really letting me down lately), but I decided to go for it. I’m sure that between his heart-earning actions and helping clear the perfume salespeople, he will end up being a big help for getting the other prizes in this event. And hopefully will be at least a little help in future ones (amusing that I have Freddie gorging on chocolates now).

Yeah, but I got Ida’s items without Arnold. It’s great if you haven’t fixed the bench before you get Arnold, but not game-changing if you don’t. Tinyco is making this event playable for all users, not just premium players.
I think that so long as you buy Arnold before the end of the 1st phase you’re going to be ok.
I’m really curious about what they mean by he helps with perfume sprayers in the next phase, though.

I bought him despite the fact that he was a little more expensive than I normally prefer (I like them to be 200 clams). I am happy with the purchase. I get more than enough hearts, but I know it won’t always be that way.

Arnold was an easy buy and the fact they got him to record unique lines for the game(basically adjust catchphrases of his) was terrific.
Probably one of the better celeb characters they’ve had and one I’d bet on seeing again in the future if you can’t afford him now.

Heaven forfend he becomes available in a ‘Best of’ event. He’d be the only character worth trying to unlock and he may come in at a more exorbitant price. My bias leans toward getting him now rather than risking a later ‘chance.’
