Borg Phaser Battles just patched. Ore should start dropping randomly.

Sorry for the delay on this one. Last few days I have been at the Hospital with my ailing Mother. Just got home.
In true TinyCo fashion, another late night/weekend release has hit our games. TinyCo did state they were going to be dropping all sorts of new things into the games to keep players already done busy for the extra week, and busy work they did indeed drop on us. Uhura, Borg Bertram Statues, and the one thing I requested… 7 of 9 is now in our game. WOOHOO!!
Give me a bit to go through it all, pull the stats and details, and I will update this post.
In the meantime, I got a dialog between Vulcan Quagmire and Uhura that triggered a task to unlock her. Followed shortly by dialog between 7 of 9, Picard, then Starfleet Peter. This triggered a timer, but I will need to clarify if that is for her purchase or ONLY for the questline it triggered itself. Will report once I get that clarified.
We now have TWO new Characters in our games. One from Star Trek: The Original Series and one from Star Trek: Voyager. Add to that mix some additional Borg Bertram Statues and there are now MORE options to spend your additional Dilithium and Materials on in the Replicator… or your Clams if you so choose. So what can each one offer? Let’s take a look.
FYI… No Voices on either one of the gals as of yet in my game. Will update if that is how they were intended once I get clarification. Both are now voiced. See their profiles for some phrases.
NEW CHARACTER
Seven of Nine: 265 Clams, Always drops Dark Matter (Let Her Hair Down, 18hrs)
Once you purchase her, a questline will be triggered. Seventh Heaven
Seven of Nine came along in the Star Trek: Voyager Series with a female Captain Janeway. She was born Annika Hansen, but the Borg got to her and had assimilated her. (Similar to Picard becoming Locutus.) Her and two other Borg’s crash landed on a Planet and were severed from the Borg hive mind. The away team from Voyager later discovered her. She continued to struggle with turning back to humanity, but did stay on with the crew. You can see more about her all throughout the Star Trek: Voyager Series.

I should be good to get everything in the next couple of days… except maybe the silver Bertram statue. I only have 31 transporter energy, as I keep sending Starfleet Lois to the Borg Cube, because the payout in free clams has been so good. Honestly, I think I’ll miss out on that particular replicator prize, as the free clams are a much better incentive.

Nice but not. I felt that they were giving a week for everyone to get caught up and the Rupert box was the official flag of the end. So, I too succumbed to the spending of the crystals… sigh. Back to grinding on Bertram from scratch. In the related note, what’s with the 50 transporter energy for the silver statue? Ugh! I don’t even know if that’s possible if you didn’t already have a stash of it. And a bittersweet nod at 7 of 9. If there’s not a clam rebate, not sure I want to purchase her. Guess it’s back to the grind for me. 😛 @ TinyCo.

But it’s impossible to have a good strategy in this game with TinyCo always changing things… Anyway, the new characters were welcome although one was premium (more premium stuff for a event that was already over, really???). Now they have to give us Bones!!! And not premium 😉

She’s all I got left outside my 90yr gramms. Everyone else has passed away minus some siblings, most of whom I never see. So I am kinda particular to keep her round. I have been caring for them (mostly my gramms) a while now.

I thought it was totally worth it. There’s no downside to offering it because you’re not forced to use it, but it can really help players out who have a really unbalanced set of materials.

I must be doing something wrong! As a freemium player tapping as often as I can, I don’t understand how players have so many dilithium crystals and dark matter, by some of the comments they seem to have too many! I don’t have enough yet for Picard or Kirk, never mind the new items that have been added!

Same here, I haven’t unlocked Stewie in Quahog, so the max I can get is 250 crystals with 18 hearts Borg Betram, which means the borg battles are not really working for me. My best chance of crystals are drops from sending Lois on missions to the Borg Cube. I have 5k crystals at present, I would probably be able to unlock data and one more, maybe Talosian Stewie costume since that would complete my collection and give 50 clams.
On another note, thanks Bunny for this site, I found the addicts through TSTO addicts, and I am amazed how you and the crew manage to maintain both sites while holding a daily job. Family always comes first, we addicts can understand. Praying that your mother gets well soon.

Re those with little synthesizer ore
What else have you had Deanna Troi and Vulcan Quagmire do all these weeks? Quagmire only had to be taken off Borg clearing last week for the expeditions. Trois is still free. Plus there are the two Super Rad Cargo Bays.
Most of us have stockpiles that violate all safety protocols. It’s good to have something to spend it on before the safety inspectors book us.

You did ask, shields up, wall of text incoming.
The Borg were dropping several items throughout the event, I have Worf who also attacks them and I was running out of Borg to attack at times but don’t have a stockpile.
The Borg aren’t guaranteed to drop Ore, it’s still rare in my game.
Troi has a task for Phaser Energy, which has been needed for several characters and costumes, and Deanna was one of the few characters that could get Herbert’s costume, which took a long time for many. Troi also had a task for Talosian Stewie.
Vulcan Quagmire, it looks like you’re assuming everyone got him quickly, I’m pretty sure I was into Stage 5 before I finally got enough books to unlock him. Having him attack a few Borg, get drops for Crusher, doing the required story missions and then switching to the transporter mission used up all his time.
The past week I’ve had Troi and Quagmire working on their own quests, Troi is also involved in many other character quests. I really wasn’t expecting another character from an event extension or I would have sent them on Ore tasks.
The Super Rad Cargo Bays drop me 1-2 Ore a day at best.
Admittedly I’ve been behind for while, I had a fun little XP bug that’s still ongoing and put me behind several days on each Warp Core upgrade, I didn’t get to make use of the quick room builds and the room swapping before they got fixed.
It’s awesome that the players who have massive stockpiles get something else but please don’t assume that those of us who don’t were not trying hard enough. This is the first event I’ve struggled with since starting during King Butt, I even managed to get Jesus at Christmas without too much trouble, this event has gone horribly wrong for me.

I’m having the same prob. I have about 75 synthesizer ore, but I don’t want to even try any more if this is a glitch they need to fix. I’ve already wasted 21 of them. I’m also annoyed.

The Replicator advises you can gain Synthesizer ore from destroying Borg ships but I’ve had none drop after destroying 10+.
Do you know if there’s any issue with it @ the mo?

Your back story for 7 of 9 is incorrect. The Borg never went to her planet to assimilate her, in fact she’s from earth. What happened was her parents were scientists studying the Borg in space when they encountered them. Anna, her mother, and father were assimilated.

Wording got jumbled up… typing too fast. The Planet portion was for her and the Other Borg. The word planet wasn’t supposed to be on that line. Thanks. 😉
To be a bit more specific. The family was actually on the USS Raven, a ship, “cloaked” and following the Borg to research them. An Ion Storm knocked out the shielding temporarily but long enough for Borg’s to detect them. That is how they were found out after quietly and covertly collecting data on them for so long.

I think tinyco should make events less frustrating. They should plan things out and have things done on time. I know they want to keep everyone busy but this is just “too much content”. They probably made this like a few days ago. At least it feels like that.

Much like eyerybody else I started replicating stuff when I still thought the event was going to end last week, spent my crystals on the mystery box, and slacked off with the Bertram battle. Ah, well, back to the grind it is 🙂
The synthesizer ore is going to be the biggest challenge imho, drop rates remain awful.

Just unlocked Kirk, so now moving on to uhura and joe. Kind of annoying that you need 50 synthesizer ore, I got all of it that I needed and now I need more. The dilithium and dark matter will be no problem, bit worried I won’t get the synth ore in time. Also gutted Borg Bertram is a statue and not deco like the yeti. I wanted it to look exactly as he does in the game right now. Also wish you’d get them for beating him and not in the replicator. There’s no sense of achievement there

I got 7 of 9 because I am a Jeri Ryan fan. I tried to twitter her (she is pretty cool about answering her followers) about whether she voiced her or not, but I believe she is on an anniversary trip to Africa with husband. Oh well, will just need to wait and see.
Also kicking myself on overspending dilithium trying for flaming red shirt. I was keeping 10,000 on hand, but had a few to spare and kept rolling until I was down to 5000 because I was sure next roll was the drop (I believe I have about 60 tribbles). So time to regrind out some crystal.

I think I’m mostly irritated. TinyCo really needs to learn that some of its players are planners. I was finally catching up on all the questlines I had to put on hold to stay afloat, and I stopped doing Bertram battles and spent all my crystals on Rupert boxes. If I had known I’d need so many more crystals and dark matter for new items as well as a new character, I never would have relaxed.

So you may remember me mentioning after the extension that I was more of a voyager fan…yippee never mind having both Spock and kirk I already bought 7of 9. Her 4 hr task is brill! Now I just have to hope none of the other voyager crew show up for clams. I’m not spending my dark matter till closer to the end now just in case. Also wanted to thank you girls is because of your advise I was able to deal with Peter craft and Borg cube I have really slow reactions so I was sure I wouldn’t be able to manage it but with your advice I had nearly all the space condoms I needed before the war bird showed up! I don’t think I could play this game without you I’d mess up and become frustrated too often.

It is more an afterthought. Many were stating they were done and lots of materials left over. Asking what to do with them. So… this is what they offered in response. Just play with what you have and do only what you can. Don’t stress yourself on it.

Am I the only one who is so fed up with this game?
I keep grinding through this extension to get Kirk and they just release Uhura like that, with an impossible amount of synthesizer ore and all my dilithium just spend on ruperts mystery box.
I am an completist and it annoys me they keep doing stuff like that last minute.
But as I read from the comments ths is usual TinyCo and Im not used this kind of behaviour form other game developers. I just deinstalled the game, this is it for me.
But I wish all of you luck getting your last ores and dark matters and Bunnys mother all the best.

Sorry you feel that way, but we understand. Many players were telling TinyCo they had TOO much still left and wanted something to spend it on… well… they gave them something to spend it on alright. Lol.
It is a different way of gaming with Family Guy many are not used to. We even encourage those not enjoying it anymore to have no ill will if you must walk away. We’d prefer it. Games are meant to be fun. Not all games are for all people. So if something is not fun to YOU… then find something that is. Just know no matter what, you will always be welcome back here. 😉

Snatched up 7 of 9 right away! Don’t honestly know that it was worth the clams due to the premium characters being useless in this event for the most part, but she’s a cool character so I figured why not. Borg cube missions and tribbles have given me a ton of clams for this event, so might as well. Now to keep beating Bertram to farm dilithium for the new replicator items. As far as a Clam Character, at this point in the game… I would say to get what makes YOU happy. She may help some, but let’s be honest… she is more a “collectible” to be put on the shelf for bragging rights instead of something to play with. Meh, sometimes that is what items are in the game. More something for you to just get to have. I do hope in the future more will come of the premiums. They are increasingly getting better. All we can do is keep asking and making suggestions… in the meantime, I just added 7 of 9 to my Geeky Nerd Girl Collection. Lol. 😉

I have to say I’m loving the new update although it goes to think Tinyco has this planned from the start to let the event run late so they could give us more.
Not that im complaining in any shape or form. I love it Uhura and Seven of nine are some of my favourite characters.
Uhura is easy enough to get but my issue is with seven of nine if it does turn out that he timer is indeed for purchase. I won’t have time to get her as I just don’t have the clams. This will suck but hey you can’t win them all, overall im still loving the event

What’s got me down is that Uhura requires FIFTY synthesizer ore! That’s the one item I never had a lot of. I only have 15. Supposedly, one way we can get it is by destroying the Borg cube. I just did that at least 5 times, and got nothing. Guess I’ll try my luck getting it from a planet next. I’ve had Bonnie on task the majority of this event trying to get synthesizer ore, but she very rarely drops it. I honestly don’t know how I’ll get Uhura unless TinyCo lowers the synthesizer ore amount needed.
As far as Seven goes, I’ll probably have to pass her up.😞 I’m short 50 clams and between pay checks. I hope she stays around longer.
Regardless of whether I get either one or not, I gotta give this event 10/10. Love it!!! Best event so far! It’ll be hard to top.

I have more than 50 synthesiser ore from clearing borgs using Troi and Vulcan Quagmire every 2 hrs (yes I play that often), my problem is collecting enough Dilithium crystals, I am giving myself until the last day of the event to decide whether or not I should get Talosian Stewie and Pike Joe or just Uhura.
Agree with you that this is probably the best event so far, in fact, it is what got me playing Quest for Stuff. Pity I wouldn’t be able to get everything. Hopefully they have more of these tie-ups, I feel it gives QFS an edge that TSTO does not have.

Got them already. But Bunny, Bunny, Bunny. You got 7 of 9’s history a little wrong. Voyager was and if still my fav Star Trek show. 7 of 9 was assimilated when her parents ship was captured by the Borg. They were studying the Borg undetected for some time until one of their devices failed. And 7 of 9 was severed from the collective by Captain Janeway. During the time when Voyager was in an alliance with the Borg to battle Species 8472, 7 of 9 was stationed on Voyager. After the Doctor created a weapon that would defeat Species 8472 the Borg decided they would double cross Janeway and Voyager. But in usual Janeway fashion, she had a plan in place which involved severing 7 of 9 from the collective and escaping and thus leading to the beginning of 7 of 9 becoming the character we all came to love.

One Synth Ore away from Uhura already. Should have her next time I clear my rooms (since it’s not like I can rely on Bonnie or anything). Guess the statues mean I’ll have to get the gang going on Bertram again. Only crafting them since I have a sneaking suspicion it’s needed to unlock something. And only crafting the giant tribble if it’s needed for something else (like some sort of Replicator completion reward or something). Wonder if I can get away with leaving Chris out of the Betram fights until I can finish addressing his considerable sidequest backlog. Right now I’ve got Stewie soloing him with a guaranteed kill (2 hearts left) as long as I access the game between 4 and 8 hours from now. Only need about 50 more Dark Matter (and some Dilithium, and more Synth Ore) to get everything…
As for Seven of Nine, she’s unfortunately just a waste of Clams until I know I’m getting something out of having her. Even if it’s just a Seven/Uhura completion award, that would at least be something (though probably still not enough). I get that she has her fans, but I always thought Voyager was the weakest Trek TV series, so just having her isn’t enough right now. Not like it was with the original series Premium guys.

This is brilliant! – just keep my fingers crossed for Tasha Yar to go with Armus, not quite got Data yet – so I’m not hopeful to get Uhura or Kirk, but that’s the way of things, happy with what I did get/buy 🙂

I’m so done with this event.
This morning it became clear that I’d fail to defeat Bertram when the second to last possible battle took 20 energy down to 13 which is impossible to do with the four basic battlers in the remaining battle. There’s no way I’m going to get all Dark Matter for Kirk within the remaining time. I’ll save myself from the frustration of battling diligently, even setting an alarm for waking up in the night only to end up with a handful of energy missing in the end after days worth of gaming, working through the various Betrams.
I definitely would have expected Spock as a premium character to be able to help out with the battles, the lack of which I consider a major failure on TinyCo’s part.
Guess I’ll return to TQFS after the event is over.

Uhura needs a fair bit synthesizer ore – 50 – it actually said that using phaser to destroy Borg cube (3 hits) would get ore – so far this is not true – I tried it 3 separate times, wasted 9 shots – no ore. So I’d wait on this until that part is corrected. The biggest task for uhura will be getting the ore – imho.

I am glad that the one thing you specifically requested has been made available for you. For me, all my happy occurred with the ability to have wandering tribbles in my town and lots of pretty purple plants! I decided to not be pissed about spending clams to speed things up to make the original deadline, because I would have happily spent that money for tribbles! *chuckle*

Oh yeah, and of course I already got the blonde tribble, and now I have the three large ones, and a slew of tiny ones. I will get Uhura if I can gather the remaining crystals and dark matter without stressing it too hard, because I am not that big of a fan of star trek, but I am a fan of Nichelle Nichols, and that she was 1/2 of the first interracial kiss at a time when it was considered shocking.
