So TinyCo snuck a lil Doggy into our games. Fire Dog Brian is live now. 
He is in our games in a unique kind of way. Tapping on him in the Shopping Cart Menu will take you to Al’s. There you will see Fire Dog Brian. He is a Premium purchase for 210 Clams. He is a Costume for Brian.
More info coming…
Fire Dog Brian will come with a task, Bark at Truck/ 12hrs, that will drop Fire Chief Hats. 
Tagged as ALWAYS on drops.
He has a total of 8 tasks, 2 of which are Visual, 1 of the visuals is a dual task with Chris (Spray Brian).
No questline popped up into the game just yet for Fire Dog Brian. I will update when/if one pops up. His questline finally triggered in my game after clearing up a few others. It will be triggered by Chris. Dog Day Afternoon. More info coming later on the questline.

Sorry people are getting upset over having to shell out clams for premium content. So it’s not free, it us just one little skin from one little mini event. Save your clams for a later event, it’s not like the games going away anytime soon. It’d be nice to have, love the artwork.

Nooop, nonono. I am still harboring a grudge after my clam rooms from the Enterprise got turned into useless decos instead of buildings. Oh, and I already got suckered into the beyond-useless Bitch Brian (remember him? neither does TinyCo!) months ago. I’ve bought all the premium characters during several past events (Star Trek, Halloween, Comic-con), but there’s no value in this skin. I’m not buying the Fire Chief either. I used to defend the premium offerings, but this mini-event seems a little forced.

What would happen for those of us who decided to pay the 210 clams if they make him earnable? Are we gonna get reimbursed? It wouldn’t be fair to premium players otherwise.

He won’t be made earn able. They made that very clear in our discussion. This is how he will be.
For “argument” sake… I think if they changed it within this Event… I’d make sure everyone was reimbursed. We’d have lots of words on it. 😉

No skin should be over 100 Clams. For one to be worth 200 all his tasks need to be animated with new dialogue based off that skin.

And have a better than 12hr task for a drop (if more than 200 clams skin). I would expect nothing more than 4 hours to make him comparable to a chief since for all intents and purposes that is what he is. They want me to buy him as he is now 75 clams max.

I sent them a message, but I never get a reply so it feels like a waste of time. I’m disappointed that they very clearly advertised him as a free character obtained through collections, and changed him to premium. If I had known he was premium I wouldn’t have gotten my son excited about him. My son loves dogs and firefighters so this was the perfect event until this major disappointment.

It’s OK. Not many are fond of him as a Character. I guess for me I want to see it as the thought of a 80% Wooden Man around fire makes me think of the possible silly tasks. 😉

This event started out so good too. I am very disappointed. Ill keep playing this game until i run or if clams and will uninstall. Is been a money grab since the beginning but getting worse and worse now. I get that they need to get paid,and actually used to have no problem paying for certain items but they are just so unfair about it all

I agree with you. It was on the very right track. Then, they always screw it up with it.
I have sent plenty of feedbacks to them, but it does not seem to be clear. First week, I told that was on the right track, that was funny, except for the time element. That is bad, because not everyone plays on the same pace.
They answered me that it was the challenge element.
Then, hours later, they update the game and put brian for 210 clams, no items to get, a big middle finger salute for those who thought they have finally got it right. Challenge? For your wallet. if my clams goes dry, I’ll leave the game too. I play it since it started, and I am not finding joy on it anymore.

I know it is hard when a Premium hits the game, but remember… it still has til the 27th. That means MORE is still coming. Just what? Well, at least Seamus. But I am still interested to see what else comes with it. 😉

well yea. Told them to give us some chance to get it without clams. 210 clams for a skin is bogus. In this pace, characters in the next event would be costing 300+

…as was New Year’s Brian costume. Their pricing is getting from ridiculous to insane. Since premium purchases are still basically worth nothing in the long term (despite corresponding feedback relayed to them often!), separate characters for 200+ clams are at least individual $ and XP earners. But costumes?
I’m not going to purchase any clams any more. My money goes to EA because they regularly reuse premium characters in later TSTO events. Also, their premiums are usually not priced completely over the top.

I’ve been a player of this game for over a year now and all I can say is I think its time to hit delete app and say thanks for the time spent. I have well over $100 invested in this “free” game and when you look back, why? This app costed me more than an xbox game. If I keep going it may eventually cost more than an xbox altogether. That’s redonkulous if you think about it.
I understand when you have big events like the star trek one that we would have to use real money to get certain items but when you want us to come out of pocket just to play the game and on stupid items like this…shame

I’ve compared many times. Let me put it this way… the ratio of Clams vs Donuts is pretty well balanced. You get 3500 Clams for $100 and 2400 Donuts for $100. You do get more Clams for the cost of $100. So in the end… yes… the costs are pretty close across the games when calculated.

Completely agree with you Joseph. I’d add to that (and repeat what I have written earlier) with the premium characters you can invest in straightaway not being involved either. I can understand the reasoning behind not wanting to use characters from events but not the original characters (Consuella, Jake, BDH I think). Have sent a message and so at least they know how I feel.
Not going to go for the skin, have 300 clams left and once those go, I think that will be it. I only have those as I purchased some for Spock (after I promised myself “no more” – so much for my willpower!).

After star trek proving that tiny co is getting outta hand on wanting money and making this game unplayable for the freemium players, its about time to quit. I used to take up for them and say everyting freemium could be done by the normal working/ sleeping person. Now its getting worse. I’m just gonna stop ranting for now, and go check my fire tranies, lol.

Not sure how u can say that the star trek event was not “playable for freemium players”…
I did not spend any clams on this event and I personally got new skins for Peter, lois, stewie, chris, mort, joe, quagmire, herbert, maybe more?…
Plus got Kirk, data, locotus/ picard, geordi, beverly crusher, riker, troi, uhura, more?…
plus lots of cool buildings, rooms, and decos…
plus probably came out over 100 clams ahead due to borg planet trips.
And no, I am not on all the time nor do I set alarms to wake up to play this game. Just play every few hours or so.
To act entitled to all characters is absurd. Have there been characters I wished didn’t cost clams? Sure. But you have to understand that you will not get all content in this game unless you spend clams.
Sorry for the rant. Just trying to keep it real! 🙂

Well guess I don’t have to play this event any further. I got Chris but not shelling out clams for Brian. Star Trek destroyed any hope of that happening.

The hard part for me is that I can’t imagine this skin being useful after this event. If TinyCo promised to make it significantly useful for 2 of the next 3 events or something like that I would be tempted. As it is I’ll probably pass.

Yeah, I’m disappointed too. With all the drops we’re getting this round I was hoping for more characters and skins to add to my collection, but not at that kind of cost. Why tease us through Al’s if it’s just gonna be a clan buy anyway?

I am really disappointed that he is a paid skin, let alone so expensive! There are full characters with buildings much less expensive than this! Saddened that TinyCo chose to do this with something so much of us were looking forward to getting in our games.

That would be cool, but then the game would die. Unfortunately they have to show an income each Event to keep the game alive. Otherwise they will lose sponsors and ability to get cool Events and Copyrighted items into the game. (Standard in any game house or industry.) Such is the Corporate Life. 😦
Maybe in the future they will find a way around it, but only thing I can see for that is hit hard before or after with them.

Sponsor’s show up due to traffic on site. Such as here. People buying clams is secondary income. Its a hard balance they seem to be losing.

I mean, for a skin during just a mini event, should he really cost more than most premium characters during normal events? There were some higher priced characters during the star wars events but that was unusual and not wanted. Hmm. I think he should be maybe 100 clams max, and even his drop can just be gotten by the fire captains which cost 75 less, plus some more effort. I realize skins cost a lot to insta-unlock but being as he is a straight out buy, I think maybe they should go lower. But that’s my two cents as a freemium player who has some clams stock piled and wanted the skin but not for this truthfully horrible price. Boop!

Love the skin, but not 10 dollars worth of love! I think that they made it appear as if the skin was going to be winnable, which seems a bit sleazy to me. Liking the rest of the game, and now I have a focus, just getting purple creatures to win the cat in the tree. If I don’t get it, I will survive just fine, it is a want, not a need! *grin*

Burn! No good I was only half interested in this one but for the second character to be premium? Not gonna happen. I’m just using this time to cool down from such a big star trek event. I’m hoping something good will come up next time. But for me personally the last three have all been misses. Not a star trek fan but that’s my fault (Sabers over phasers any day) I love the bearded peter but glitches made it to where I had to spend my precious clams (freemium player here) and now this is looking like a flop. Oh well let’s hope we can catch a mouse and have a three month star wars event. Would even love to see Cleveland show characters. More than the American boy. Resting this out for now hopeful for the future.

I’m assuming he’s just a skin, in which case 210 clams seems a little steep for a skin that will likely only ever get used by this event. I’m a premium player and aim to get all characters/skins, but this one is a bit hard for me to justify…

Can anyone tell me how TinyCo put a value / cost to each new character? I don’t mind the high clam value of characters that you have to earn items for (those are freemium characters and you are entitled to spend clams to unlock them early if you wish), I mean the premium only characters (Consuela, Buzz, Jack, Horse, all the Comicon and Halloween characters)? This also goes to how they value a skin. I’m not complaining, but 185 clams (210 to purchase minus the 25 refund you get when you get Fireman Seamus) seems a little steep for just a skin. I’m pretty sure Brian won’t appear in an end of event sale or mystery box either, as that would be unfair to all those who pay top dollar for him.
(If I was to fork out clams for him, I’d want to know that he was going to drop something for Seamus at the very least!)
Anyway, does anyone know how they come up with a clam value for characters and skins?

Probably a time vs Material amounts kind of calculation. Kind of like figuring out what it is worth like an hourly amount to spend time for items. What 4hrs would translate into in $$. Etc.
In Star Trek Data was 1400+ Clams. Took on average about week to unlock.
Same with similar Characters. Most are at least 1000+ Clams to outright buy vs work to collect Materials.

This… this just confuses me Tinyco… The previous post about the fire creatures and how to deal with them has a little picture that shows info which makes one believe that Brian will be like Chris’ costume in that it needs materials to be created (like the dalmatian puppies, jaws of life, etc). But now he’s premium only…?

Trust me… I emailed them on it. It never said WHAT we needed for him, but I told them to make sure the confusion did not happen again. They told me they are fixing it so there won’t be any.

I was clicking on fires when I entered by mistake on Al Harrington. There it was, Brian. I was clicking fast and I bought him by mistake 😦 I do not want to buy him. I’ve sent an in game message asking them to take him away and give my clams back. Do you think that’s possible? But overtime I’ve sent an in game message, they don’t answer or they answer 3 weeks later so I don’t know what to do 😦 This was a terrible mistake!!

Kinda sad he’s for clams, my grandpa was a one of the top firefighters in the city and in charge of the firefighter newsletter for many years. So firefighters and all that jazz have been a big part of my life for years. Also dogs are one of my favourites animals and I thought it would’ve been nice to have a Dalmatian running around town.
Would’ve rathered Seamus be for clams, I don’t have a use for him. Plus I think he’ll make a crummy firefighter anyways.

Give them time. Remember they work on business hours and may take a few days to get back to you. I do not know all their ins n outs on that as it is case by case basis. I just know my personal methods… kindness goes a long way 🙂
