Hey there Pyromaniacs!
With this new Small Firefighters Event in our game, there are a lot of interesting elements going on. Some of which you may not quite be sure of what to do. Well we are here to help out as usual. In this post, we will be going over the basics of how to use the Fire Academy and Train Firefighters.
Once you finish Part 1 of the Main Questline, Fire in the Hole, you will have the Fire Academy unlock for you to purchase and build.
Firefighter Academy: $700, Build Time 30sec.
So why exactly is this important? Well it is the center of the Firefighters that you will need throughout this Firefighters Event. This is a step by step process. In other words unlocking one item will help unlock another. Let’s take a look at it’s uses.
FIREPOLES
In order to get Firefighters into your game to help put out fires and battle Walking Fire Creatures, you will need to Train them. Only one Firefighter can be trained and used per Fire Pole, so it will be good to try and unlock as many as you can to help out in the game. Here is the breakdown of each of the poles.
Firepole 1: Opened on build of the Fire Academy
Firepole 2: Requires 20 Fire Extinguishers to Unlock/Open, get Fire Extinguishers from clearing the Brush Fires around the Sidewalks
Firepole 3: Requires 10 Fire Axes to Unlock/Open, get Fire Axes from Angry Fire Creatures after battles with Fire Captains.
Firepole 4: Requires 150 Clams to Unlock/Open
Firepole 5: Requires 150 Clams to Unlock/Open
WHO COMES WITH EACH FIREPOLE
Every Firepole is the same, once unlocked/opened you will see the 3 Firefighter options inside.
Firefighter: 1hr to Train
Each one Requires 4 Fire Extinguishers
Fire Captain: 4hrs to Train.
Each one Requires 2 Gas Cans
Fire Chief: Will Require 135 Clams first to unlock his use on ALL Firepoles. 4hrs to Train.
Each one Require 2 Gas Cans
HOW WILL I KNOW IF THEY ARE READY TO TRAIN?
First take a look at the Main Screen of the Fire Academy. If there is already a Firefighter on your Open Firepoles, you will need to wait until you use them to Battle or Put out a Building Fire or Unlock/Open another Firepole. 
If the Firepole(s) are Empty, you can tap on Train to go into the 3 Firefighter option screen.
Select the Firefighter you want depending on the Materials you are trying the most to get. 
If you have enough Fire Extinguishers or Gas Cans to Train them you will see Train as an option. Tapping it will start the timer. 
If you do not have enough Fire Extinguishers or Gas Cans to Train them you will see Not Enough as an option. You will need to collect more before being able to start their training. 
Once you start a Firefighter training, you will NOT be able to stop or switch it. So make sure you selected the one you really want.
Once they are completed with training, you can see them in the Main Screen waiting on the Firepole you trained them on. You will also see a check mark over the Fire Academy. Tapping on it will make the ones complete start wandering your sidewalks until you are ready to use them.
MY FIREFIGHTER IS DONE TRAINING, WHY CAN’T I START ANOTHER?
You will NOT be able to use the Firepole until that Firefighter has been used and is complete with his task. Only one at a time. So send them off to fight a fire or battle a Walking Fire Creature to free up that Firepole.
CAN I USE A FIREFIGHTER MORE THAN ONCE?
No. You can only use each Firefighter once. After they are done, they will disappear down a Firepole into a portal below. You will have to Train another if you need more. More reason to get as many Firepoles open as you can.
HOW TO GET MATERIALS/FIREFIGHTERS
As stated above, this is a step by step process. One thing complete will lead to another thing unlocked. Let’s look at some examples…

For a quick breakdown, this is what each of the 3 Firefighters help collect again.

Fire Chief Hats from Extreme Fire Creatures
WHAT IS BEST TO UNLOCK FIRST?
For me, I opted for the Firepoles first. Sexy Firefighter Chris has no drops yet (I assume they will come with the next Phase for Seamus & Brian). So I am utilizing my drops to get MORE Firefighters in the game. The more Firefighters, the more Material Drops.
On the Flip side, you will need to unlock Sexy Firefighter Chris to complete the questline to trigger the Crazed Fire Creatures that drop Jaws of Life.
See what would work best with the amount of time YOU will spend in the game.
There you have it. The Fire Academy and your main source of Materials needed for this fun lil Firefighters Event.

Does anyone know if after the event we get to keep the fire academy or does it disappear like the fragrance factory did….trying to set some buildings up since I have very limited room and so many buildings it’d be nice if we could get more land not distict land but blank land to set up all our stuff lol

My Fire Academy is on fire, so I can’t do anything as the firefighters that are trained can’t get out. Help please.

Correct. You only need to if you want the Fire Hats and Mystery Box items. Otherwise you can just use Captain’s instead and go for the Jaws of Life instead. A lil more work, but not a clam buy. It’s all up to you on how you want to customize the Event. 😉

I think I am done with the quest line for now, having unlocked Chris and made him do his quests.
I will not buy Fire Dog Brian.
But there are no more quests showing up. Is this normal?
How are we supposed to get Fire Man Seamus?

Brian the fire dog is unlocked in my game but it looks like you have to use clams only to buy him. I’m wondering if you will be able to earn him instead in the near future. Does anyone know? Thanks

What is the spawn rate of the building fires. Having unlocked the third fire pole, I find myself with an abundance of fire fighters. Thanks 🙂

Cleveland is such a useless character in this ga me (so many are). I always have him on 24 hour tasks. It annoys me that they don’t include him more.

does anybody know spawn rate of angry fire creature, and max number of angry fire creature. i had 4 at one time and wiped all 4 of them out at the same time, now i don’t have any angry fire creatures, and i have already put 4 in training to take care of angry fire creatures.

I’m seeing it varies by player. I have had 5 running round in mine at a time. They switch in colors. I would say mine respawned fairly soon once I cleared them.

Just wondering if you could tell me when the next costume will begin as got chris costume and the 3rd fighters poll. Also you wondering if theres anyway of buying the jaws of life and other box with ingame coins as my mums brought everything on it with the ingame coins but mines asking for 6 of them things. She did show me and i couldnt work it out other then it glitched for her or is there a way we can?

As far as Jaws of Life, you need to get to the questline point to trigger the Purlple Crazed Creatures with Fire Captains. Those drop Jaws of Life.

Brian popped up on my game for 210 clams.

My game was crashing every two minutes when the event first started. Sometimes it would not even last that long. Anything could set it off – scrolling, collecting coins, going into store, or going to train firemen.
Well, two days later, and my game is suddenly more stable than it has been in months! I dont know if TinyCo pushed some fix out, but whatever it is, thanks!
Anyone else notice an increase in stability?

When do the crazed fire creatures appear in your town or the giant fires. I haven’t gotten either yet.

And what do you mean the giant fires? The Building Fires? Those should be right away in the Event.

This second phase (fighting Crazed fire creature) seems a lot more irritating – as far as I can see you have to play every hour to do it efficiently. Previously for the axes you could gather six gas cans over two one hours (or as many one hours as convenient) but then could rest for batches of four hours while the three Captains are trained.
But if you only need two Captains to defeat the lavender mob there is no point training a third one so you have to train single fire fighters every hour for the gas cans (for the next round of Captains). A pest.

It depends. You can just save up. You can just train Firefighters for a while and stock pile Gas Cans. Then after a significant stockpile, then start to train the Captains. I would still train three at a time no matter what. Get ahead of it. You will want Jaws of Life for the Mystery Box, unless you do not care for the items in there… then it won’t matter. 😉

Then again again I am probably completely wrong and worrying over nothing – surely you can just take one hit point from a crazed creature and send a second captain in four hours later – so you can separate training fighters and captains.
Oh, well. I’ll find out.

Yes. Multitasking is encouraged, however you will need to have TWO trained at same time to even start the fight on a Crazed one. (Post coming shortly).

I unlocked Chris, the drops on the suspender straps are good for some and worse for others. I got luck this morning and got 3. and out of three people I got 1. It’s a fun small event.

My drops for the suspenders has been pretty slow. I usually have all 4 who drop them going and I’m lucky if one of the 4 will drop. I have 6 right now so far so not too much more to go.

Hi Firefighters!
I just unlocked Chris new skin today and I’m now completing his tasks. I noticed theres no purple flame around my quahog even though I’m using firefighter Chris.
Other question aside, Will Tinyco update Uhuras facespace as it was kinda empty as soon as she was released.

That is all up to TinyCo on when/how often they add to them. Make a request through your game messaging.

Hi Bunny! Got some time off work (so handy for this mini event!) so I’m posting a lot more than I normally do – 3 posts in a couple of days vs 3 in a whole year. Apologies for the extra workload lol.
I think what Vicenzo means about Uhura is the same thing I’m seeing. Her Facespace was blank when I first unlocked her, and it’s still blank now, even though I’ve levelled her up a few times and had at least one – probably more – popup to say that she’s added a new post. On Android btw. Keep up the good work 🙂

I know what he meant. Answer still the same. It is up to TinyCo to add to or update the FaceSpace for each Character. Make a request if you want to see more added to any or just and update on a new one. All still the same. 😉

Is there a way to see how many gas cans &/or fire extinguishers one’s collected once you’ve created Chris’s fireman skin? It would be nice to see a tally count of all the things collectable.

But it is not available from the Academy ninety-nine percent of the time – only for the few seconds when personnel are not being trained!

I get that, but it is the location for where the counts show right now. Outside that, hats and jaws show in the mystery boxes as a count.

Great how-to guide Bunny. I feel like I’m moving along nicely in this event and I don’t feel pressure or stress yet so yay! Based on what I read here and the fact that I still needed several Suspender Straps I decided to go with unlocking the 3rd pole before Sexy Firefighter Chris and I’m glad I did. I will have the final axe needed for Chris in 2 hours. Got the last Suspender Straps I needed this morning (Jerome never dropped any) and then I will have 3 Firemen working the poles to bring Momma back some Gas Cans to finish Sexy Firefighter Chris. I have over 1100 Fire Extinguishers. I have not used any clams and will not be unlocking the Fire Chief.

I really find this annoying because the nodafaction does not pop up and I forget that I did and not only that but it crashes then I have to do the thing all over again.

What do you mean? A notification for what? I know I get them all the time telling me my actions are done, but you have to make sure you enabled them in your game and on your device.

I assume he means for the fire academy, because it’s the same for me. I get notifications for the actions people do, but have not gotten any for when the firefighters are done training. It’s kind of annoying because I don’t always remember to check an hour later or else all of a sudden it’ll be 2+ hours since I last checked and I’m PO’d.

Just send some people on an hour long task so that you will get a notification. That’s one way of fixing the problem without adding more work for tinyco. I had noticed this also and that was how I fixed it for myself. Just a suggestion though. I totally understand what you were saying.

I unlocked Chris. I now have 5 more axes to go to get the 3rd firefighter. I currently have over 1300 Fire Extinguishers.

Great walkthrough. It’s worth noting that the Information icon (in Extreme Creature) shows you that the Jaws of Life will be needed to unlock Fire Dog Brian later on when he’s available. So save up those Jaws of Life before you waste them all on the Rupert Mystery Boxes.

The jaws of life are not needed to unlock Brian, just clams. You need to buy Brian for 265 clams.

When I clicked open for the third fire pole it took 100 clams , not the 10 axes , as I only had 7. Just wondering if that was a glitch, or my fingers hit the screen so quick I didn’t see the “open this now for 100 clams” pop up?

It is because you clicked the option to Open it with Clams once you tapped the Pole. The ONLY option that pops up when you do not have enough Materials is to “Open” it with 100 Clams. So if you tapped “Open” still, you did so with Clams. Sorry.

I’m lovin’ this mini-event so far! I just unlocked Sexy Firefighter Chris this morning and am now trying to unlock the 3rd fire pole. 1 fire axe…9 more to go! Ugh! Any word yet on when Seamus and Brian will be unlocked?

I found it best to tap on the smoke to clear brush fires instead of trying to tap on the fire itself. Since they only appear on sidewalks, the fire often was too close to buildings, so tapping there was seen as tapping on the building. The smoke is free and clear generally (and signal when the fire is behind a building).

Correction to my post above. I can train firefighter or fire captain in 3rd slot, it’s the fire chief that will cost 135 clams. Helps to drink coffee before posting!

I spent 10 axes to unlock 3rd pole only to find I still can’t use it. 2nd step is use 135 clams. Not cool.

I think my problem is with the academy. I am sitting at the quests Fire In The Hole part 3, Turn the heat up Part 1, and Flame on! part 4. I do not see Fire Academy in my options to build or in my inventory so I am assuming I have it constructed in my game already. Too many buildings around to see it, it does not stand out. Every time I go to train a firefighter the game crashes. I can go no further in the quests without training a firefighter.

Try some troubleshooting. Double check the app market to ensure that you are completely up to date on the app.
Then try some other basics, if they do not help… contact TinyCo from your game.

Thanks. Had to uninstall / reinstall then it let me begin to create a firefighter. Got 1 hr till they complete, then getting to finishing these quests, dropping axes and gas cans to complete Chris! Thanks for the help!

I unlocked Chris yesterday morning – so now the focus is on unlocking the third fire pole – I have 3/10 axes – so I should have that open sometime tomorrow.

Something is off with your game. You double check app market to ensure up to date? I have tons of them in 4 different games/devices.

I’m having this problem in my game also. Went 12 hours between log ins and came back to ZERO fires to be put out.

I’ve come back to none…but once in game a minute they all started spitting out all over the place. Just took a minute to sync. If none are showing up after 5 minutes in your game, notify them from your game.

I love it so far, lots to do. Thought we’d have to wait a while after the Star Trek event for something to keep us active so all good!!!!

One thing to note … as far as I have noticed anyway… once you get enough fire axes for the pole and/or Firefighter Chris and enough hats for the Rupert Mystery Box the corresponding angry fire creatures will only drop coins and not materials.
So make sure to use the mystery boxes once you get enough. I’m stuck on getting axes since I have pole 3 unlocked and enough for FF Chris but still need about 5 fire hoses to unlock the skin.

It is happening on the Hats too? I get the Fire Axes as there is nothing else you will need them for, so much like any Materials… they will stop dropping once use is gone.

Yeah it happened on both hats and axes once I had enough of each for the mystery box and for the unlocks. Once I used the hats for the box it switched back to hats being dropped instead of coins.
