UPDATE: 1PM EST, TinyCo just updated me that the items continuing to drop from Mystery Box should be repaired now. So please force close the app and restart your device. Let me know right away if you still see the item (Hay Bale, Ball Gag, Etc) that you already have ALL collected so I can pass it on. Otherwise, you should now have the item gone once it is all collected (make sure you tap the check mark too.)
FYI: Hay Bale issue of too many/continuing to drop from Mystery Box already reported last night. Still awaiting response. In mean time, report the issue to TinyCo from your game.
Just keep collecting Pinecones until I can get a further update.

It seems UTTERLY impossible to go a week without something New hitting our games to keep us occupied. I just hope I don’t run out of CHEESEY lines while trying to keep up. I better MILK it for all it is worth. 😉
Got the idea yet? NO??!! Well let’s take a peek at just what this Mini Event is going to drop into our silly lil games this go round.
Just to make sure you are aware, this event will end…
THURSDAY, JUNE 4TH, @ 3PM PACIFIC TIME
You will need to be on at least District 3 with Al’s unlocked and Updated to Version 1.8.5 or higher in your App Market. (My Android is on 1.8.6.)
More To Come…
Peter will start of the Event Questline, Into the Wilderness. Immediately after triggering Part 1 another Questline will trigger in the game by Peter, Holy Cow! At this point you will be starting into the Event and collection for S&M Cow. A third Questline will also trigger, Beef! It’s What’s For Dinner.
NEW CHARACTER
UPDATE 5/29: Got confirmation on this, in regards to the Timer on S&M Cow… if you have it PLACED in your town and counting down, you will have until the timer runs out to get it. But you have to have the Barn placed BEFORE the Event ends as the option to buy the Barn will be pulled on the 4th with the rest of the Event items.
S&M Cow (w/ the Big Red Barn): $750 Coins, Instant Build, Once Purchased you unlock the Material Collection for S&M Cow.

PINECONE MYSTERY BOX
You can see what Prizes are inside or what you have left to win by tapping on the green “Prizes” Icon in the Mystery Box.
Once you start the Holy Cow! Questline, you will see the Mystery Box in your menu along with other items. The Mystery Box will Require ONE Pinecone to open each time.
Items Inside:
2 Hay Bales (Needed for S&M Cow)
2 Maple Leafs (For Event Items)
2 Milk Pails (Needed for S&M Cow)
4 Maple Leafs (For Event Items)
2 Branding Irons (Needed for S&M Cow)
1 Ball Gag (Needed for S&M Cow)
Once you win all of an item you need (like for S&M Cow) they will disappear from the Mystery Box.
FYI: As with most anytime you win an item and it pops out (like collecting rent on buildings too), you need to wait for the game to “collect it” in order for your counts to be up to date and correct. That or tap on the item yourself to collect each one. In other words, DON’T open one box after another after another after another on wins for S&M Cow. They pop out behind the box when won. You got to wait just a moment for them to collect. You can see it happening up in the corner. Close out the box and double check before opening another if you’re not sure all were collected. This will help you avoid wasting any Pinecones on the Box.
HOW TO GET PINECONES?
You will notice new tasks open with Holy Cow! Questlines for Quagmire, Bruce, and Mort to Camp in the Living Room for 4hrs. The tasks are an ALWAYS drop. As you continue to earn Pinecones, your current amount will be displayed in the Barn Icon in the Lower Right Corner of your game.

Hay bales are also still dropping for me. Last night I got all the hay bales S&M Cow needed, so I clicked on the “check mark” over S&M Cow that says I collected them all. The icon over her head went away as usual. However, the picture of the hay bale is still in the mystery box and this morning I got 4 more hay bales. I’ll report it to TinyCo. It sure is going to be hard to win anything if some or all of the items no longer needed keep dropping.

I like this, I like the nature questswe have been getting, and it looks as though I should be able to get all of the items at least once if I come back every few hours. Also, I noticed that they said ‘utter’ in the game, not udder. Is that a thing? Or is it a typo, because I keep seeing people say utter. Udders are the mammary glands of ruminants such as cows, utter means to speak or complete, as in to be in utter amazement.

LOL Yeah, basically every time in England there is a big story relating to cows, at least one newspaper will say “udderly” something. Anyway sorry, does the Skunk just walk around then? I was wondering if he was a normal NPC or if he does something when tapped. I was kind of tempted, but I’ll probably skip him as I won’t be able to buy many clams in the next event, so I’ll need to save more. I like these decorations a lot, and hopefully I can get at least one of each if I log in fairly often, even if there are only three earning characters. That is provided the materials disappear when I have them, and they don’t add anything. I like the addition of an animal character, it would be nice to have a couple more, but lots of them are either minor characters(more than these) or already as NPCs. Also, it’s nice that one of these events is giving a free character instead of a skin!

It is an “NPC”. If you take a peek at the post, you will see that tapping on him makes him start to “spray” everyone. Lol. 😉
It didn’t take me too many Pinecones to get at least one of everything. I will total them up, but I want to say around 60.

The Mystery Box is definitely bugged. I got 4 Hay Bales from my first 2 boxes and made 100% sure that the bales were gone (clicked the checkmark on the cow). I even restarted the game before opening my 3rd box, but it didn’t help. I still got 2 Hay Bales again. 😦

Hi guys, I just want to point out that I have already obtained the 4 hay bales for the S&M cow however they are still dropping and are a useless waste of my pinecones. This has happened twice, and they are still shown as a prize in the mystery box.

I opened two boxes this morning and got all the hay bales I needed. I the. Cleared the check mark on the cow to clear it out. I went back in to see if the hay was still in the prize list and it was. I closed the game down completely and returned about 30 minutes later to check again. When I went to check I accidentally hit open instead of prizes and got a third set of hay bales. I sent them a message about it in game as well.

I was nearly going to delete the game after I couldn’t get the star wars ginger cat and couldn’t get the cat stuck in a tree in the fire event but the cow is hysterical! I have worked out that it should be possible to get the ones I like most – the cow, raccoon, bear sign and bird feeder within 5 days without having to wake up in the night 😃

Ok … So apparently everyone is just as excited as I am about Greased Up Deaf Guy and Bottomtooth. I REALLY hope he’s voiced! He cracks me up, specially when he’s mumbling Amazing Grace LOL. Hope one of his tasks is in the Jake Tucker/Church, since I allowed myself this frivolity, I would really like to use it.
That stupid Cow, it embarrasses me when I hear her masochistic screams of agony/ecstasy. Yet, it makes me laugh.
Makes me wonder if that dead frog that Peter poked holes in will make it here? That is one of the goofiest time consuming sight gags ever!

Bunny, I had the same thing happen to me, and that was after I read the previous post, closed the box, waited until it had the check mark in the materials area above the cows head, clicked it to make it go away, then opened a box and got more hay bales!

I had the same issue. I closed it out then after the next 2 four hr quest for each line fine I got hay bales. That’s a total of 6 hay bales after a 4 hr period after i closed it out

I waited til this morning before opening the second round of boxes and even though 4 hours prior I got all the haybales, that is the ONLY item I got the second time around. I checked the box just now and they are still listed to drop. This needs to be fixed. I have no reason to be collecting them.

I had the same thing happen to me. I got four hay bales, cleared the hay bale from the cow’s menu, then four hours later I got more hay bales even thought it doesn’t show up in the mystery box anymore. It certainly wasn’t because I hadn’t clicked on them in the world because I had done that four hours earlier.

It doesn’t matter Bunny. Same happened to me. Collected all those hay stacks last night and checked them off for the cow. Just this morning tried the mystery box 3 times and twice I got hay again and they went to nothing. Very lame that materials are repeating hope they remove that or this is gonna be much harder than I thought.

I finished all 4 hay bales, popped the corresponding baloon on the cow. I closed and re-entered the game, but i i check the prizes obtanable from the box with the green button the bales are still there. Is this normal?

Just in case I missed something, this whole mini event is based on a currency called maple leaves (durectly or indirectly), and in order to unlock or purchase items, you need lots of maple leaves. And yet the only way to source maple leaves is via…3 characters going on 4 hourly tasks.
Is this correct?

Yes but it’s a guaranteed drop in pinecones. It went fast for me testing. Wasn’t long at all to get the Cow.

Just keep collecting Pinecones in the meantime until I hear back from them so you don’t waste them. Won’t hurt to just collect them. You will need a couple to get everything anyway. 😉

Not feeling this one. Sure, I’d like to get the cow, but this collecting something to convert it into something else that collects something different really gets tiresome and is definitely not the kind of game I like to play. If this trend continues, I’m out sooner rather than later.

Hi everyone, please note the 7 day time limit for S&M Cow starts from when you place the barn, if you have characters on 12 hour tasks don’t place it until they are finished 🙂

I don’t think Tinyco is making this one difficult to obtain, Bunny. I had all builders tasking and the Barn was instantly there. The tasks look relatively well timed with the always drop. If a person wants this one it shouldn’t be too hard to get. Just from my perspective.

I had all my characters free, in expectation of a mini event, as we always get one every Thursday. I hope I’ll be able to get the Cow unlocked through collecting all materials, but if will use clams to get him if I’m unable to get all of them in time. I absolutely love that they’ve teased that Bottom Tooth and Greased Up Deaf Guy will be coming at some point as I love those two characters, and I really hope we get A-Team outfits for Peter, Quagmire, Joe, and Cleveland at some point.

they need to add waaaay more land when they offer it. the districts barely give you anything to work with, and they keep adding buildings and whatnot. this is a place where they could learn from the Simpsons game. they add it rarely as well but when they do, its a veeeery long and big strip with oodles of space. (yes i said oodles lol).

Matt, those characters having been holding their place for a while. I do believe, because they are in that line up, they will be ‘District’ linked as opposed to instant open with Clams.
Even when they do finally arrive (Stewie took 4EVAR!), it’s going to take a while to open.
Remember, as the new districts are added, the character acquisition requirements become more difficult to achieve.

GASP. S&M cow is so different than any other character. God, if she had a duel task with brain damaged horse I’d buy him in a second. I will buy her if I don’t get enough materials, though it looks pretty easy. Holy crap is she awesome. Best event ever!!!!

Not sure I like the way this event is set up with only 4 characters earning currency for the mystery box and the mystery box being the only way to get the required items for the s&m cow but I do agree we need more land there are more buildings and decorations than could ever fit in the available land

The hay bales and milk cans are not shutting off after I have gotten what I need to unlock the cow. They just drift off up to the right corner. Also, how do you know how many maple leaves you have? There is no running total that I can find.

I am having the same trouble with the Hay. I have cleared the “check marked” item from the cow. The item no longer appears on the list of prizes available; however, when I open the prizes I just got the hay on two separate occasions. I just wasted 2 pine cones. I will he waiting a few days before I open anymore to see if TinyCo gets their act together.

Report it. Mine stopped in all test games once I hit the target amount. Also, wait a minute after opening each box to allow the game to collect the items and update the totals. Exit out of the box and tap on them to clear them if you have to. Otherwise if they’re not collected yet, the totals won’t be updated until they go.

I did report it to Tiny. I just now got the branding irons I needed, but the same thing happened. I actually turned the iPad off and went back in and the iron was still up as available for the Mystery Box. I guess I’ll just wait until my three guys get back from camping out on the couch and try again.

Max characters was previous 85, of which you could have a maximum of 82(Death, Neil Goldman, Evil Monkey being the 3 missing) but now the cap is 90 so they’re already accounting for a lot more characters which means a big event is coming soon as that’s the only time they drop that many new characters at once.

So tinyco customer service told me I would be getting my firefighter academy back with the next update. Got the nature week update but no firefighter academy. Anyone get their academy back yet?

This is not an update. This is an in game Mini Event. You will need to watch the App Market for updates. What version are you on in the App Market?

IOS 1.8.5. I still consider adding new content to be an update though. If they meant next App Store update, that’s what they should have said. Anyway, here’s a warning to everyone on the mystery boxes. Just got my first 3 pinecones and first 2 boxes were haybales. I then clicked on the checked icon at the cow to clear it. My next mystery box: haybales. Looks like the items you no longer need aren’t leaving the mystery box like they should.

Did you wait for them to collect and update the total? Or open one box after another after another? They pop out behind the box when won. You got to wait just a moment for them to collect. You can see it happening up in the corner. Close out the box and double check before opening another.

Yes I waited. I even cleared that task from above the cow before opening the third box. Also, haybales are still listed as a prize in my mystery box.

I’m seeing this as well out the 5 boxes I opened today, 4 of them were hay bales, and they all were opened about an hour apart from each other. My first 2 were hay bales, clicked on them and clicked on the check mark above the cow to use them. My next one was maple leaves. An hour later I got another hay bales, and then another hour later I got more hay bales. They were definately collected when I got the first 2 lots given the time difference as well. But I still ended up with 2 lots more. I’m the same as Sean, iOS 1.8.5, if it helps.

Yup, me too. I checked the tick and bales of hay disappeared but still dropping from box.
