Bouncing by with a quick lil run down and some help on the Nature Week Take 2 Event. Some tips and ideas on how to make the most out of your Characters to get some items into your game.

THURSDAY, JUNE 4TH, @ 3PM PACIFIC TIME
In order to get S&M Cow and the many cool New Decorations offered, your #1 Goal in the game will be to collect Pinecones. As they are an ALWAYS drop, this should be pretty simple and go quickly. First let’s break it down.
PINECONES NEEDED FOR S&M COW
4 Hay Bales: Comes in Packs of TWO from Mystery Box, so TWO Pinecones needed. 
8 Milk Pails: Comes in Packs of TWO from Mystery Box, so FOUR Pinecones needed.
10 Branding Irons: Comes in Packs of TWO from Mystery Box, so FIVE Pinecones needed.
12 Ball Gags: Comes in Pack of ONE from Mystery Box, so TWELVE Pinecones needed.
In total: 23 Pinecones needed to get all of the S&M Cow Items.
PINECONES NEEDED FOR DECORATIONS
This one is a lil more customizable as you may not want everything offered or even multiples of some too. I will just base my totals on getting just ONE of every Decoration offered.
Ravenous Raccoon (Decoration): 30 Maple Leafs needed
Ice-Capped Mountain (Decoration): 20 Maple Leafs needed
Bear Warning Sign (Decoration): 10 Maple Leafs needed
Camping Tent: 8 Maple Leafs needed
Wooden Canoe: 4 Maple Leafs needed
Tree Stump: 4 Maple Leafs needed
Sizzling Skillet Hot Spring: 10 Maple Leafs needed
Backyard Bird Feeder: 8 Maple Leafs needed
In total, to get ONE of each of the Decorations offered, you will need a total of 94 Maple Leafs. The Mystery Box offers 2 Packs and 4 Packs of Maple Leafs. So WORST Case Scenario (Only 2 Packs) you will need 47 Pinecones.
Because there is bound to be a mix of 2 AND 4 Packs paid out, 2 Packs being the more common, let’s figure it to be approx 35 Pinecones.
12 Pinecones x 4 Pack Maple Leafs = 48 Maple Leafs Total
23 Pinecones x 2 Pack Maple Leafs = 46 Maple Leafs Total
PINECONE TOTALS NEEDED
With the items broken down now, I figure you will need roughly 58 Pinecones. Again this will vary by Player as it depends on YOUR luck in the Mystery Box Payout as well as what YOU want to add into your game as far as the Decorations go.
HOW TO EARN PINECONES NEEDED?
Now that we know we need roughly 58 Pinecones or more, let’s now breakdown just exactly HOW you will get to that Total. You have 3 Characters (Quagmire, Mort, and Bruce) that can earn Pinecones. Each one able to perform a 4hr task, “Camp Out In Living Room” to earn 1 Pinecone on completion.
Scenario #1:
Quagmire: 4hr task x 2 times a day = 2 Pinecones
2 Pinecones x 6 days = 12 Pinecones
Mort: 4hr task x 2 times a day = 2 Pinecones
2 Pinecones x 6 days = 12 Pinecones
Bruce: 4hr task x 2 times a day = 2 Pinecones
2 Pinecones x 6 days = 12 Pinecones
TOTAL 36 Pinecones
Scenario #2:
Quagmire: 4hr task x 3 times a day = 3 Pinecones
3 Pinecones x 6 days = 18 Pinecones
Mort: 4hr task x 3 times a day = 3 Pinecones
3 Pinecones x 6 days = 18 Pinecones
Bruce: 4hr task x 3 times a day = 3 Pinecones
3 Pinecones x 6 days = 18 Pinecones
TOTAL 54 Pinecones
Scenario #3:
Quagmire: 4hr task x 4 times a day = 4 Pinecones
4 Pinecones x 6 days = 24 Pinecones
Mort: 4hr task x 4 times a day = 4 Pinecones
4 Pinecones x 6 days = 24 Pinecones
Bruce: 4hr task x 4 times a day = 4 Pinecones
4 Pinecones x 6 days = 24 Pinecones
TOTAL 72 Pinecones
That should give you a basic idea of the amount of Pinecones you can get into your game during the time for the Event. From minimal effort to not even all available times you can send them (6 times in a 24hr period x 7 days). But I know some of us tend to like to sleep too, so I factored in about 8hrs a day for that too. 😉
As you can see, this Event is pretty simplistic. You really don’t have to put forth very much effort for this one to get items. Just what we asked for. Now WHAT you get will all be up to You and the time You want to spend in the game to get it.

I started playing the game over a year ago and play to pass the time. This latest event “nature week” is a complete joke. Thankfully I don’t allow this game to manipulate me into spending real money. 75 clams for a silly skunk?

Am I the only one who has not had a single 4 leaf win yet? My luck sucks! Still, I got all the things I wanted. I have nearly 75 clams and can’t decide whether to get the skunk or wait for the next awesome thing… Decisions decisions!

They are more rare. I see them more often if I save up Pinecones and open multiples at once. Still then, the odds of them are rarer but I do get some here and there.

I just had a go with 7 pine cones. Only got two leaves so far

I have one of each item plus one extra tree stump. Going to make a clear cut forest! I found drop of leafs is best to trigger a 4 is, gather pine cones but dont use them right away, save 6 to 10 of them, cash in and increase odds of a 4 come around. So assume the racoon of 30 leafs, save 15 cones then cash in.

I noticed others mentioning getting a gray screen with a line going through it. I ended up with the same issue two times. I have plenty of memory and my game is fully up to date. I’ve contacted TinyCo about this, but no response yet. I hope this is not a serious glitch or error. Has anyone had success getting this issue fixed? Thanks!

I posted this to others, will do the same for you. Force close the app and restart your device. That should clear it up. If not, make sure you are up to date on your App Market Upgrades.
If those do not help, reaching out to TinyCo from the game should help.

A tip for everyone. If you’re having trouble getting credit for your leaves you just need to collect coins and they credit instantly. Keep a few of your buildings uncollected or use a house with a short collection timer, like the griffin house. After each mystery box stop to collect your leaves then harvest a building.

Hi. I noticed this afternoon that, after redeeming two pinecones and winning 2 leafs per cone, that they DID NOT tally on my counter. Is it just me? or have others maybe reported the same? Hmm. 🙂

Collect some Pinecones or something else from buildings and it should trigger it to catch up. Also a force close restart seems to help. They’re there. Just not showing up in counts.

After getting the s & m cow I now cannot get anymore leaves. I am still collecting pine cones. How do I get leaves now?

The box should still be there and open with just leaves in it. If the box has completely disappeared for you contact TinyCo, because it should still very much be there.

I got the cow as well and my box is still there with 20 leaves and 4 pincones but how do I cash in the cones? When I hit the box it takes me to the ‘get pincones’ explaination window.

I have finished gathering hay bales but they still appear in the gift box, after winning again for 2 times, it automatically disappear! I think tinyco reduced the number of hay bales for s&m cow instead!
But anyway, I got s&m cow already and my friend thinks this game starts to get kinky! Lol! 😛

Not sure if I’m just unlucky for this event, but since unlocking S&M Cow, I have only been able to get 2 Maple Leaves per Pinecone. My historical record of Maple Leaves is basically 1 out of 19 Pinecones yielded 4. All 18 other attempts resulted in only 2. So, in my case, I’m going to fall pretty close to your “worst case scenario.”

So far this is my experience too. First pull 4 maple leaves… then a mix between cow droppings & 2 maple leaves. I’m not too fussed with getting each decoration though so all is well

I sent a ingame msg to tinyco because I didn’t get the 4 leaves I won added to my total last night,when I logged on today I got a reply saying sorry we’re looking into it and here’s 25clams . Wow what a way to start a day!!

I only wish that some kind of income generating building was available to purchase with the leaves. I have no interest in decorations and so they are a waste to me.

Except when you have every district and millions upon millions of coins
Then the last 2 things to do in game are focus on events and decorate your town
At which point unique decorations are a godsend

Anybody else getting disconnected when they try to open a Pinecone box? Other then that I am liking this event.

I have not. Keep an eye on it, report it if some basic troubleshooting like force closing app and restarting device don’t help.

I’m already down to just needing ten more ball gags for the cow, and I’ve already purchased the tent, canoe, and bird feeder with leaves. The only thing I’d wonder about is why gags cost 30 clams a piece (in case the random number generator doesn’t like me and I keep getting leaves) when it’s listed as an uncommon. TinyCo seems to be all over the place with how they figure out how many clams an item is worth, based on rarity.

The Maple Leaf Counter is not working correctly in my game. I just got 2 and 4 Leafs for 2 Pinecones, but only 4 were added to the counter. Anyone else having this problem? Thanks!

Yes. I told them about this and they’re looking into it. There’s An Odd Delay. They’re in your game, just not showing up.
Here’s what worked for me. Either try to force close the app and then restart your device to see if it updates. If not, and this is the odd part, as soon as you earn another Pinecone it will add the PineCone and trigger the remaining Maple Leafs missing to show. Like for me, I was supposed to have 22 but only 18 showed. I cleared Mort and his task. As soon as the PineCone collected I got the missing 4 Maple Leafs.
In the meantime keep reporting it to them from your game when it happens.

Did I miss a character? I am currently sitting at 82/90, even when I account for the cow an the 5 unreleased characters that just brings me to 88/90. What’s going on? I got the 3 firefighter costumes

My count currently is at 83 released characters (including S&M Cow) with 5 more (Death, Neil, Evil Monkey, Bottomtooth & Greased up Deaf Guy) coming soon.

Curious: does that number include the various skins for the main characters or is that just different people?

It varies on what events you participated in and what Characters you own. There are more Characters coming, so they are in “limbo” and you may not see info on them til they are released into the game.

This is my favorite event so far, granted i have only been playing since the end of January. I like the casual pace, and the fact you can get as much or little as you want based on how much you want to work for it, and there is not an overwhelming amount of objects and characters to shoot for.
On a side note, I was one of the folks that lost pine cones to hay bales, and they replaced them. It speaks well of them that they do respond to their players.

I want that racoon and camping tent. I am buying them as i can afford them and then i will save my leaves til the end and pick up anything else i can afford 🙂

I just want the cow ! If i get the animal decorations i wont complain but im really just shooting for the cow 🙂 i like the way this event is set up. And how collecting things are different from the others.

I would argue that spending half your day chasing quests without missing a beat (it would take longer if you didn’t re-send straight away) is hardly “minimal effort”, it’s at least moderate effort. Also, when people work 6 days a week, we consider them to be hard workers, so why would we call 6 days a week here “minimal”?
So, just to clarify…
Taking scenario #2, that on average (which means around about half the time), players will not receive enough drops to get 1 of each deco + Cow.
So half of the players won’t get the rewards on offer here.
Is that the standard we set? That not even half of the players, after investing moderate effort, still don’t get enough drops to get the event rewards?
Oh, and I won’t judge you on the impossibility of doing “(6 times in a 24hr period x 7 days)”, unless you were using a helper application or cheat, it still requires humans time to click on buttons and re-send on quests.

I get what you’re saying but you missed my point. As it says… I am looking at it in a limited way. Yes only going in your game 3 times a day is minimal and should get you the Cow at least. Beyond that is up to the player to decide how much effort they want to put in. Because 99% of players mainly want the “Character” first and foremost.
Unlike other events where you have to live in the game every hour to get a “Character”, this one is minimal. 🙂
Just like in life, what you put into it will vary what you get out of it. 😉

What are you worrying about, Matt? With 4 hour tasks four rounds a day is simple and everyone can do that. Five rounds is possible for many.
One when you wake up, at lunch time, and end of work. If at 5 p.m. possible to squeeze two more in if up until one a.m. or if you need an early night then you get just a fourth. So that’s twelve or fifteen pinecones a day.

I have a job that takes long hours and I can’t play the game at all during it (not even at lunch). Twice a day is the only realistic scenario, except on weekends. Besides which, any more than three times a day would turn the game into a second job.

I couldn’t care less about the cow (she’s really annoying, hate the voice). I just want maple leaves so I can buy stuff, the raccoon in particular. I started quests but won’t finish them because I don’t want to waste maple leaves on stuff I don’t want. You really don’t have to do the quests in this one. In the Firefighter one, you had to get far enough in a quest to trigger the purple fire creatures who could provide jaws of life for Rupert’s box. I don’t see anything essential in the quests for this one. They also seem mostly doable after the event ends, once the cow is achieved, if you’ve already bought the limited time stuff for them. So no rush.
I just set my phone’s timer for 4 hours after sending Mort, Bruce, and Quagmire to camp out in their living rooms. Collect pine cones after 4 hours and send them right back in, reset the timer. Takes a few seconds. If I’m busy, I don’t bother doing anything else (collecting rent, setting tasks for other characters). When I have the time, I spend the pine cones on Rupert’s box to collect the stuff for the cow and maple leaves. Once the cow stuff is done, I assume I’ll get all maple leaves, which is what I really want.
So you can spend minimal time and still get to do what you really want in this game. I often skip parts of quests anyway and just buy what I want with coins.

Lol. I never use a recipe. Honestly. I “eyeball” all the seasonings. Same with tato salad. I taste the “sauce” that I pour over it. See what it needs. Lil more lemon, salt, or w/e and add it. 😉
