Hello There Clammers!
How are my favorite mobsters doing today? Everyone working on racking up as much Mob Rep as you can? (amidst all the crashes..which hopefully will be ending VERY soon) So as we’re in the full swing of the event, everyone should be earning Mob Rep at a decent rate. So whatcha gonna do with all that Mob Rep you’re collecting? Unlock really cool prizes of course!
While we’ve taken break in recent events from the prize chart, it’s nice to see TinyCo going back to it for the Mobster Event! Of course it’ll take some work to unlock all of the prizes, but hey you have a month to do it! So let’s take a look at the third “real” prize of the Mob Event…the Security Octopus …
There are a total of 10 Mob Rep Prizes ranging in cost from 100 
up to 17,500 . The Security Octopus is actually the 7th prize awarded, and you’ll earn it once you reach 10,000 . We’ve broken down prizes 1 through 4 on our Gondola Ride post here, and prizes 5 and 6 here. So now let’s take a look at the 7th prize….
The third “real” prize for the event…the Octopus Security. Sorta makes sense, since they have 8 legs they can hold a lot of bats!
Prize: Octopus Security
Unlock Point: 7th Prize unlocked at 10,000
Size: 3×3
Does it Do Anything?: This is an animated deco. The Octopus sits in the water tank and moves its legs around. Nothing crazy exciting, but at least it’s animated.
Personal Thought: Meh. This is another one of those decorations that will just sit there. Still a fan of prizes via Mob Rep, but this one will likely end up in inventory…
Remember:
When unlocking the prizes you’ll have to claim them from the prize group in order to get them in your Quahog. Once you’ve earned enough to unlock the prize you’ll see this popup:
You’ll still have to go to the individual prize page and tap “Claim” in order to get it in your town (this goes for the Cookies and Clams too…if you don’t tap claim you won’t see them).

Didn’t know where to post this. My free clam videos aren’t working. When I select to play the video I get an error message that reads body_label. Don’t know what that means but I’m unable to earn free clams as of now. Don’t know if this is a new issue or if others are experiencing this problem as well.

My octo-guard is guarding the rear entrance of my casino.
I actually like the chainsaw goon. Got him trimming a tree. Cracks me up.

I didn’t see anything about this anywhere, so this is as good a place as any-I just noticed that the Facebook Beta is live. It’s a bit clunky, but good idea.

I would be curious to know if ANYONE has gotten Mr Washee Washee without spending any clams. I’ve gotten 2 tapes, from probably 8 or 9 tries. At that rate, I’ll need around 50 hits on the couriers to get 12 tapes. so that’s 150 showgirls. If I time it to the second, I can get 20 shoes a day. It is not possible to complete the task in a week. and, once again, need Washee to do the upgrade, so will be behind again, just like last week with Cleveland Jr. I just really don’t understand why relatively simple math doesn’t seem to jive with these game designers. I understand spending clams is fine, but it would be nice to be able to at least get the characters that advance the main quests without spending clams, and spend clams on premiums, and other things that aren’t essential but just the stuff I like as “extras”. Not really started out to be a WTD post, but I am curious if I just have bad luck and would like to know if anyone has gotten him unlocked through just game play and not clams.

I like that Consuela is the top prize, but I think more cookies & clams would’ve been better than all these decos. None of these things really seem like a prize. The headquarters building is OK but for being the headquarters would’ve been nice if it dropped more cookies & hats than it does. When I look at these decos as prizes, I can just hear Peter adding a new hit to his Christmas album. It’s Jingle Bells, but all words have been replaced with “Meh”. Meh meh Meh, Meh meh Meh, Meh Meh Meh Meh Meh.

Taking a break from this game!! I’m done with designing my town and I really can’t add anything else. What’s the point playing this event if you place everything in inventory? I even place Max level characters in my inventory.
This game needs more districts not just events where it takes you 2 weeks to unlock the phase 2 character and no catching up.
Tinyco did it quite well in 2014 with comic con and their district. Oh and events like American dad. The rest is stressful.
I’m going to focus more on tapped out events now.

Instead of the octopus or some of the other prizes, I wish we’d get Big Fat Paulie or the shady mobster in that episode that steals Peter’s car for him.

My octopus is guarding the entrance to pervy Herbert’s house, which is also tightly surrounded by Klingon buildings and a scary alien plant. Gotta protect the kids of Quahog somehow.
The next prize is the Gurl Scout Headquarters, which is a real building and so should be permanently useful for dropping currency.
I still don’t understand why Kingpin Consuela, the top prize, is listed as dropping coins and XP every few hours. I thought she was supposed to be the playable character plus the outfit? Or is she actually just some weird animated deco that acts like a building?

Just a place holder (as a building is involved). And because those that do NOT have her already get a trio… Character, Costume, her House. So… it is a REALLY good prize and should be at the end. 🙂

Any news about if TinyCo will do anything for those of us who shelled (get it!?) out the major clams to get Consuela already? I figure I’ll drop them a note after I actually get the outfit (prob 1-2 days), but I was curious if there was already a large scale solution (since many will probably be annoyed about this).

You will have to talk to them. I got her when she was 600 Clams. Later she was put down to 300 and I have also seen her on sale. So something you have to kind of take up with them as it is a premium purchase and it all depends on the situation. Doesn’t hurt to ask. 🙂

So my gurl scouts stopped spawning and the purple trucks are completely gone. I havent cleared a purple truck all week so i dont care about that but the gurl scouts are important. Im on a time crunch to get shirts. Anyways was wondering if anyone else knows anything about this?

The spawn on Gurl Scouts is a lil slower…but you should still see them coming along in the game.

Is anyone else Struggling to get Vinne up to map XP? I mean this has been going on for months and still he is only XP13 with the max task only 6 hours each time. Or is that just me?!

He just tuned level 16 for me and still not maxed or a new task!

For me it was Tom Tucker who took what seems like years to max out! Vinny’s also got the 12 hour joint task with Bruce, as long as you’re not using him for items or raids, but you really need to be pumping the 1 or 2 hour tasks if possible to get the most bang for your buck: 6x 1hr task gets you 72 XP, 3x 2hr task gets you 60 XP, 1x 6hr task only gets you 45 XP etc. And in case you don’t already know, Vinny and TomTucker both max out at level 25…

I remember it took a very long time to get the second and third eyeballs for Anime Peter. I didn’t like having meth Peter wandering around with an eyeball hanging out, so I started just having the doctor always working on it, with an occasional switch to a short task. I think it took several weeks. Meth Peter could have helped bring it in sooner, but he was just too gross.

I’m not sure if this is happening to anyone else, but my purple cookie trucks are no longer dropping cookies but coins instead. I just sent out a request for help, but I wanted to know if anyone else is experiencing this as well since it makes it that much harder to earn cookies.

This thing is kinda blah… the bats could at least swing instead of vaguely moving around slightly. If it doesn’t go in the NPC character display area of my town after the Event, straight to Storage.
I’m much more into getting the Eagle Decoration for this week’s (or nexts…) Raid Challenge. Hoping they release more 4th of July stuff to go with it. 🙂

Meh, just about covers it. He is standing security outside Oceanland, but if I run out of room, into inventory he goes. In fact, “Meh” just about covers all the individual prizes, except the cookies and the clams and Consuela. Maybe if the Hencman was a walking character, that would be cool.

I guess you gotta like “decorational” buildings like it, the Dilithium Mine, Hi-Yah’s Dojo (I actually BOUGHT that one through TinyCo Support!!! They DO help!), and the like. The 25 Clam Ninjas look REALLY cool around the Dojo. 🙂

I am running out of room for food/beverage establishments in my town. I love the dojo! I have a whole japanese garden section in my town, using the various ponds, hot springs, and the plant decos (cheery trees, bamboo, and potted lotus) For me it is all about the decorations and having a proper city plan. *chuckle*

Just got the Octopus. It’s absolutely adequate, spectacularly fair, or terribly average – take your pick.
My bigger concern is that it took so long to get Cleveland Jr. that my other quest-lines are badly backed up. I think everyone at this point is just going for KingPin Consuela as the #1 reward. Octopi, Chainsaw henchmen, mafia dinner tables are fine, but really don’t cut it.
What would be most helpful would be a comparison table between questlines to help your addicts navigate which ones are likely to reward us with either fedoras, cookies or skins/characters (I feel like I’m sooo behind on quest line to upgrade to the next mansion since I just got Cleveland Jr., and even then I couldn’t have him brainstorm until he leveled up!!!)

Mainly… stick to the main Questline. It walks you through all the unlocks and into the next weeks items. (Good to be a Gangster this week)
