FYI: Temp Fix via TinyCo for Death’s Mom’s House…
We’ve added a button next to the Event Hub that will take players to Death via the Main Menu’s inventory. This button will only appear for players who have purchased Death but have not placed him in their towns yet.We will have a fix for this bug in the next update, but we’ve implemented this button as a workaround in the meantime

TinyCo has dropped another awesome Event into our Quahogs. This time we are gonna go back to those “Scary Movies” of the past. The ones that send chills up your spine. Make those lil hairs on the back of your neck stand up. Make your heart start beating a lil faster. hack hack hack hack chop chop chop chop kill kill kill kill….
With this New Scary Movie Scene Event, comes many New Questlines. Questlines that will walk through the Event with you collecting items needed to progress. Like Items from the Movie Projection Booth.

Family Guy Addicts 
Hi, my current movie playing is still the slasher cat. When I get into the game it has a knife above the movie screen with a number two on it until I tap on it. Tapping on it does nothing.
My problem is that my scream level is at 7 and only level 4 is required to start the new (supernatural) movie, but it won’t let me start it. It says “complete this first” where it used to show a count down, but since the time has run out on the timer it’s been replaced with an hourglass.
There are no new creatures running around, no new movie prop or food item, no new page of things to buy with film reels. Why can’t I play the new movie?
I’ve tried uninstalling and reinstalling, but this only seems to have made the game run slower.
I’ve put over $70 into this Halloween event so that I would not fall behind and miss out on anything but until I start the new movie I can’t even complete the “dead at the drive in part 9” mission 😦
I’ve sent a message to Tinyco but they haven’t gotten back to me yet. I don’t want to miss out on anything.
I still have movie props being made yet…maybe those have to all finish before I can start the new movie?
By the way, on level 7, you need 80 popcorn to make the 5 film reels 😮

How can I play the Supernatural Movie? I’m at level 4 and have tapped the “Go” button on that task, but nothing is happening. The screen is still playing the slasher cat movie

Been very active on this event since it seemed almost impossible to complete all the tasks on the previous ones. Now I find out that slasher cat is 100 reels. How would anyone know if they didn’t read that you must save up? Am I supposed to come here before I start any action? I didn’t know until I realized its not possible to collect in 24 hours. It really makes zero sense and is frustrating. For any player not reading up on the game misses out unless you have 1000+ clams to spend. Why trick and confuse people? I know I’m not the only one. I really do like the game but this is it for me. Not worth the time and effort to be misled. I’m sure other parts of this event will be the same way. I’ll stick with tsto where the tasks can be completed. Bunny you have been helpful and good gaming to everyone else. Happy Halloween

I’m surprised I haven’t reached Scream Level 3 or 4 yet. I’m on Scream Level 2 with 222/270. I just placed Quagmire’s Haunted House. I have cleared 29/45 Unholy Nuns with 1d 12h left. I need to reach Scream Level 4 in order to see the next movie that is released in 1d 4h.
Questlines:
Death at the Drive-In Pt. 9
Bring the Moves to Life Pt. 6
Somebody Scream Pt. 3
Death Wish Come True. Pt. 1 (I’m not working on collecting items for Death at the moment, because they interfere with collecting Holy Water Balloons.)
Classic Horror Tropes Pt. 1 (I’m not working on this questline as it’s not the main questline and interferes with collecting Holy Water Balloons).
I hope this is a good strategy. I’m going to get the Weekly Prize for clearing 45 Unholy Nuns. I’m going to collect as many Movie Reels as I can before leveling up, but that will delay the next movie.
Is that a good strategy?

So Joe didn’t have any tasks for this event for me when it started but suddenly last night he got a water balloon task. I’m just wondering if this was a glitch n my game and everyone else had it since event start or did everybody just get it?

Do not unlock pumpkin tower until u get 100 extra screen reels first. Cause u will not have time to unlock slasher cat,if u dont save them up. I am going to loose slasher cat,this is the worse time event tinyco came up with. U cannot get 100 reel in one day no matter what decorations or buildings u have.

Am I missing someway to get leveled up? I am free player, have peter, working on death, and I am upto pumpkin tower but holding off until I get enough for slasher cat yet I am still on level 2 just about to hit level 3. There is no way I will get to level 4 by tomorrow unless I am missing something. Any ideas?

Still no fix for those of us locked out with the getPlayArea error code. Finally received a message from TinyCo, but it was just a generic “we’re aware and don’t know what we are going to do about it” statement…what’s more, this is the one event I was waiting for because I love Halloween…😭 Boo, hiss, sobs…

I have placed everything but the pumpkin tower, as I accumulate reels for both the tower and slasher cat. Other than Lois and Bruce, none of my characters are grinding for Death, but I am making good progress regardless. Lois has dropped 3 scythes, and Bruce has fretted like a mad man, and I only need 3 more sandals. The Slasher Cat Cave has me well on the way for the souls, but since I do not have the pumpkin tower, I still need all the brimstones. I am a couple scream points away from level 4, and I have 59 of the 120 reels I need for the tower and the cat. I decided to do this event completely freemium, and while it is slow going, it is moving along. Curious to see what the next phase brings!

I have an issue with the slasher cat full character as the last unlock able item. I have been busting my hump around the clock in order to get in a position to unlock him before Thursdays update. Everything has been very reasonably priced as per movie reels so far, but slasher cat requires 100 reels in just a 24 hour time frame. Even with max production. I can only get 25 reels in 24 hours with all 5 characters working. If they wanted 25 in 24hrs, that would be a fun challenge, but instead they opted to hold him ransom for clams. I was really hoping to use him throughout the event too. 😦

I have placed death’s mom’s house (crap for progress unlocking death -1 slipper in about 24 hrs) and have 15/26 popcorn towards Quagmire’s house. I have Slash Bait Peter. I bought the popcorn popper. I’m happy with the event so far, but I hate slasher cat, and I think getting Death is going to become frustrating.

Any tips on how to *not* level up? It’s too late for me, but I would advise others to do anything they can to delay advancing scream levels while they work to get movie reels. Having to accumulate 45 popcorns (150% of the original amount) at level 4 is truly painful. I want Slasher Cat (clearly TinyCo has deduced I’m a sucker for anything feline) so am tryyyying to build up 120 movie reels before placing the Pumpkin Tower, but it’s super slow going since I unwillingly got to this level. (Of course, Lois hasn’t dropped a single scythe yet, so it’s not like this is delaying my progress on Death.)
Can I mention I hope they release some more ways to earn 3D glasses? I *love* the bloody footprints and creepy doll village and hope to acquire a bunch of them! (Ok, so I’m also a sucker for Halloween-themed stuff…)

Just out of curiosity how did you manage to get that high up? I am complete with the main questline. I have done slasher bait Peter quest as well as all the others up to where I can’t progress till I unlock character or level. I have just hit level 3 still over 300 till next level. I have only got 8 3d glasses as quagmire is used for other stuff. I managed to buy 1 decoration but now I am stuck. Any help would be great.

YOU CAN PLACE THE PUMPKIN TOWER, you can place it and not trigger the 24 hr challenge,, just do not touch the movie screen.
The pumpkin tower is a two hour timer for getting Brimstone (it drops 2) when you get lucky enough to get them.
Brimstone is a rare drop but I got luck and the very first 2 times it dropped 2 each,, So I got 4 brimstone in 2 tries,, nothing the last few drops, since getting to level 5 is going to take a very long time, you might as well get started on it now,, in week 2 it looks like it will be sodas you will be wanting to collect, so my guess is that the sodas,, will be primary,, and popcorn secondary.

doing pretty good so far, working on Quagmires House. I have an unrelated question though. Does TQFS ever download updates in the background? this morning i was on break and went to play the game so i played the game for a few mins, then checked 3 emails and then checked my data and it had skyrocketed to 194mb for the day!! so i looked into it and the spike was all at that time. i only did those 2 things and i really don’t think opening 3 emails is gonna cause 194mb in data usage thats a ton (especially when on a tight data plan 😦 )
any idea ladies what the cause was? it had to have been TQFS. (i have data turned off for all my other apps when not in use) a similar thing happened a few days ago with 160mb in a short span and again TQFS was one of the only things i had used…

Make sure your game is completely closed and not running in the background. This app game and the other we write on use a LOT of Data. It’s why we suggest use WiFi whenever possible.

yea for sure, just it hasn’t been an issue in the past, usually uses 3-8mb per time played when on data, just recently its had those 2 big spikes. it really should show u if its updating on the loading screen like TSTO does or anytime theres an update that size it should warn you and push you to the app store to update cause sneaking in 100+mb updates on people isn’t right.

I had assumed there would be a pt 7 to get Slasher Cat so I held off on placing the bloody footprints to complete pt 6. Didn’t want that task there tempting me to tap go and accidentally start the timer. Now I know I can place them and get a clam too. Thanks. 😀
