Hey there Slashers!
Many times with the New Events I see PANIC. Mostly due to everything is new and no one knows just yet how to get the hang of what is going on. Well, just as usual, here to help in anyway I can with some Basic 101 and detailed breakdown of HOW TO on the aspects of the Game Play.
For this post, I will be diving into the aspects of getting and taking out the Vampire Bats and Getting Garlic Bombs.

Much of this info was offered in the Main Phase 2 rundown post HERE
First up, when do they appear? Vampires will start to appear during Part 1 of the Death at the Drive In The Sequel Main Questline but more so in Part 2. The Garlic Bomb Launcher will also start to appear during Part 2.
Let’s take a closer look now.
WHERE DO I GET GARLIC?
Once you get to Phase 2 and The Sequel Questline trigger points, you will notice that you can gather Garlic Bombs from multiple locations in the game.
CHARACTERS: Jerome Play Darts OR Quagmire Order New Toys
**Yes, I am aware that some of these Characters have dual needs. Already been addressed. MANY Times. 🙂
BUILDINGS: The Playground OR The Police Department
Side Note: Make sure The Playground does NOT have it’s Winter Skin on or you will be getting the WRONG payout. You will know if it is the correct one as tapping on The Playground, it will show a Garlic “CHANCE” image on the payout pop up.
Garlic will drop when cleared:
Part 1 Death at the Drive In The Sequel Questline
Buy Them:
130
Clams = 12 Garlic Bombs (10% Off)
245
Clams= 24 Garlic Bombs (15% Off)
340
Clams= 36 Garlic Bombs (20% Off)
You now have some Garlic, but what about the Vampires?
HOW OFTEN DO VAMPIRES SHOW UP AND HOW MANY?
This is actually up to YOU. Every Players game will vary on what point in the game they are, how many other “Hollywood Horrors” are already wandering, and the time left in YOUR game.
Essentially, go to the Event Area in your game and tap on the Movie Screen. Inside you will see the details of the Current Movie Phase, what’s coming next, and of course… the “Hollywood Horrors” spawn info. This is where you will see WHO is coming out next. HOW many are coming out. Time left until they come out.
As you can see in this pop up…
- VAMPIRES are coming out next
- A total of FIVE Vampires will arrive
- There is 56 minutes & 18 Seconds and counting left until they appear. (Issues with the timer on this Spawn should be repaired now. If you still see any, report them from your game)
Now with the Vampires set to come out, let’s look at some tips on just WHAT to do with them?
WHERE DO VAMPIRES APPEAR FROM?
They walk right out past the Driveway next to the Movie Projection Booth in the Event Area and onto your Quahog Streets.

Due to this, I have placed a 2 Square Road path at that location right at the Event Area. If it is only ONE patch, they will wander off. TWO seems to keep them just hanging out right there.

I also have another patch on the opposite of my land where I let all my Characters gather. Using the “ragdoll” method of tapping on a Character and dragging them around the screen, I make sure all my Characters stay on the other side of town so when they turn Werewolf they are not in way of my Vampires.
HOW DO I GET THE VAMPIRE FLOCKS OF BATS?
These appear by just tapping on the Vampires. Tapping one Vampire will cause it to turn into two Flocks of Bats, who quickly span out and start flying around your Quahog.
HOW MANY FLOCKS OF BATS CAN I HAVE?
You can only have 30 Flocks of Bats MAX at a time flying around your Quahog. BEFORE you tap on anymore Vampires and waste them, make sure you clear as many as you possibly can from Quahog before tapping on another Vampire.
HOW DO I KNOW I GOT THEM ALL?
Your Garlic Launcher Screen will actually tell you. You can see the Bat Image crossed out and “WAIT FOR MORE BATS” by the Garlic Bombs Count Icon in the screen.
HOW DO I GET RID OF FLOCKS OF BATS?
This is really up to what works best for YOU, but I will provide a couple of different options for you to try to get the most out of each one of your Garlic Bombs.
First let’s just look at the overall Basics of it.
- Collect Garlic (from locations above)
- Release Flocks Bats into the Game from tapping on Vampires
- Tap on the Garlic Launcher Icon
- Wait for the Bats to be heading INTO or already in the “KILL ZONE”
- Fire a Garlic Bomb
WHAT HAPPENS WHEN I TAP THE GARLIC LAUNCHER?
Tapping on the Garlic Launcher will bring up the Launcher Screen. Here you can see some basic information on it in the top, how many Garlic Bombs you have to toss in the Lower Right corner, and in the center… the target area.
You can take a few minutes and move around the screen with the Launcher and get an idea by just watching on how fast those Flocks of Bats move in n out of the “Kill Zone”.
WHERE IS THE “KILL ZONE”?
The target in the center of the screen gives you an idea of the area the Garlic Bomb will drop. Once it hits the ground though… the cloud of Garlic Smoke will expand a lil bit so anything caught in that path will be taken out.
You will know the Flock is caught as they stop flying away and start to just flap in place before disappearing.
Now, let’s take out some Flocks of Bats!!
HOW DO I GET MORE THAN FLOCK AT A TIME?
Getting the most out of each Garlic Bomb will take a lil time, effort, and planning on your part. Just do what will work best for YOU.
Here are some of the things I use to get the most I can.
OPTION 1: I have my Vampires in one area of Road like pictured above. This means I can tap several at one time quickly releasing a great amount of Flocks of Bats all at one time. For this one, you got to be quick. Those Flocks fly off in every direction FAST!
I tap on a large group of Vampires fast, then tap the Garlic Launcher and center the Kill Zone Target on the group of now Flocks of Bats, then I Toss the Garlic Bomb.
Using this method has got me anywhere from 11-15 groups of Bats at once.
OPTION 2: This one can take a lil more time and you may not get as many, but it helps to get those that got away.
Tapping on a Flock of Bats will do 2 things… they first will stop and fly around in the spot you tapped them… next they will possibly change the direction they were going. So how does this help YOU? Well, you can “corral” them into one spot. How? Look around for an area where Flocks of Bats are nearby one another.
Tap on one and keep tapping on it every lil bit to keep them in that spot, meanwhile tap on the OTHER Bats in the area until they change direction and head towards that same spot. Then as they get closer, alternate tapping one then the other to keep them in that spot.
You can continue this over and over and over until you get a group all to an area you want, then launch the Garlic Bomb on them. As I said, this way is a bit more involved and tricky.
WHY DOES IT SAY I DIDN’T HIT ANY?
As mentioned the Flocks move quickly as well as change directions, so you have to make sure they are close to your target area BEFORE dropping that Garlic Bomb. It is always best to put the target in FRONT of something so that it goes INTO that Kill Zone Area.
If you wait too long, shot before making sure they were heading INTO the Kill Zone, or place the target BEHIND the Flock of Bats… you will not hit anything.
WHAT KIND OF PAYOUTS WILL I GET FROM THE FLOCKS OF BATS?
This varies all over the place. There is no amount the seems to increase or decrease the payouts. Just… Random.
The payouts I have seen are anywhere from NOTHING to 8 sodas and 5 Rainbow Unicorn Stickers from one group. Yours will vary just as much too.
WHAT KIND OF SAYINGS POP UP WITH THE FLOCKS OF BATS?
Just for fun, I wanted to put up some of the Sayings I have seen when I took out different amounts of the Flocks of Bats.
0 Flocks of Vampire Bats Hit: SO CLOSE!
1 Flocks of Vampire Bats Hit: GOOD START, GOOBER!
2 Flocks of Vampire Bats Hit: YAY, KIND OF!
3 Flocks of Vampire Bats Hit: YOU’RE PRETTY NOT BAD!
4 Flocks of Vampire Bats Hit: YA-YUH!
5 Flocks of Vampire Bats Hit: FABULOUS!
6 Flocks of Vampire Bats Hit: WOW. SUCH GOOD. MUCH DROPPING
7 Flocks of Vampire Bats Hit: YOU’RE SCARY GOOD!
8 Flocks of Vampire Bats Hit: DO YOU AIM THIS WELL WHEN YOU PEE?
9 Flocks of Vampire Bats Hit: BECAUSE SEVEN EIGHT NINE!
10 Flocks of Vampire Bats Hit: DOUBLE DIGIT DROPPER
11 Flocks of Vampire Bats Hit: ARE YOU CHEATING?
12 Flocks of Vampire Bats Hit: THAT’S A DOZEN!
13 Flocks of Vampire Bats Hit: SEE? IT CAN BE A LUCKY NUMBER
14 Flocks of Vampire Bats Hit: DROPPING IT LIKE IT’S HOT!
15 Flocks of Vampire Bats Hit: BETTER AIM THAN DICK CHENEY!
Now, if anyone can figure out how many THIS one is… Lol.
There you have it. An overall idea of how to get the items needed to take out the Vampire Bats Flocks as well as some tips at corralling and firing at them.
Have any further tips for your fellow Readers on the Vampires? Any successful options you have used for them? Tips on ways you corralled them? What silly sayings did you see not listed above? What kind of payouts did you get? Let us know.

My guys don’t stay on the path. I put one exactly where you have it, two blocks wide and they are just throughout the city as always with none on the path.

I used to get great payouts with bats, the more flocks I hit the more I get back. I just reached level 8, and in the past level or 2, no matter how many flocks I hit, the payout is terrible. For instance, most recently, I hit 6 flocks and only received 2 sodas. This has been pretty consistent.

I just hit 15 and got 10 Sodas… so it will vary

I tried placing the two street pieces in front of the theatre, but it didn’t seem to keep them corralled. Do I have to have the game open when they spawn in order for that to catch them? Or do I have to keep it completely clear around those street pieces as you show in your pics. Thanks.

I have it completely clear. Another thing you can do is start to fence them in. I have another post coming on my “Mazes” I started doing last year for Events. It takes the corralling a step further and forces them to go in certain directions. 😉

The maze technique you guys showed us for minion stewies and trick-or-treaters works like a charm too. The vampires will walk from the event area to the blocks of road in the middle of the maze, then you just tap them and the bats will start to fly following the layout of the maze.

Yah. I didn’t put the Maze in here as I planned on doing a post on JUST it. Time got away due to last few days, gonna try to still get it up soon though. Wanted to see first what they do with this next Phase tonight.

I’ve been getting around 12-15 Flocks almost each time, and in just under 3 days I’ve almost got all 100 Stickers, and have got Soda drops ranging from 2-13, so things are progressing quite well.

Do you need to have repaired the car for patty to start seeing rainbow stickers? As I haven’t had one yet from bombing bats? Thanks:D ps almost have death so excited !!!

Yes. The game won’t know those Items are needed until she is asking for them. 🙂

I am not sure if anyone posted this but I have been using the “maze” method and I easily hit 15 flocks in one bombing… Maybe it’s just my game that is allowing me to do this but I find it works very very well.

This is what I did to get control of all the free flying bats. Once in the maze just tap on them to keep them still until you can shoot a bunch at once. Also makes it real easy to kill them fast after changing from vampires on the streets. Hope it helps others. https://www.dropbox.com/s/3a59enfxsu7vxge/Screenshot_2015-10-14-21-17-21.png?dl=0

Great strategy. Thank for the idea…I just got rid of 12 bats with 1 garlic bomb. Awesome

I’m sure I hit 13 and it says something like 13 is lucky for some.

It is possible to consistently clear all bats from 7+ vamps (is that 21 flocks of bats?) with 1 garlic bomb using a little flower maze around the vamp road square. Since the bats go around objects you can make a little zigzag path like a rat maze for just a few coins spent on flowerbeds to make it. I posted a really detailed rundown of my exact method to get the vamps alone in the maze in the last What the Deuce if anyone is interested. I think I have like 30 garlic bombs stacked up and 0 loose bats in town using this method. The only thing is it crashes for me on mobile so I have to use Facebook from my laptop to do it. Bunny’s method sounds simpler than mine but not sure how many vamps/bats you can clear at once since they fly away pretty fast without a maze to slow/contain them. Good luck guys!

Most I have seen hit MAX is 15 at a time. No more than that I believe can be.

I’ve heard others report more than 15. So maybe it’s something that varies from game to game. I’m lucky to hit two or three flocks at a time…. Not speedy enough with the maneuvering. But I’m great at melting nuns!

Screenshots or it didn’t happen. 😉
I just know of the 100s of Players I communicate with, no one has got over 15 yet.

I am on scream level 9 atm and I have only three vampires spawning ever 1 hour 55 minutes (When it is Vampires being spawned,, about 1 hr 15 min when Nuns.
Do you need to be at a certain scream level or some other trigger to get 5 vampires to spawn each time?

I am on Level 11, but it did change back to only 4 coming out and not 5. Like it says… varies. So just watch what you are going to get and that is what you will get. 🙂

I’m aware of the tapping method. We did it for minion Stewie. What I noticed is, when you’re doing the tapping thing, bats that are headed for the area you are tapping in, immediately change direction away from the herd. Well played TinyCo.

I didn’t see that with mine. They came right at me.

Here’s a tip that I found works well for getting the flocks when you click multiple vamps: I build some buildings around the plot of road with one way out. As long as there is a way out, the bats will only go out that way, so you can predict what direction they will fly.

For those that haven’t uncovered all the map yet… I created an alley of sorts between 2 patches of land to clear. I placed a double patch of street at the very end of the alley that all the vampires move to. After a bunch pile up, I simply tap a bunch at once and because of the limited directions the flocks can move, they all fly in the same direction towards the bigger space on the map. Then it’s a garlic bomb. I hit 9-18 flocks per bomb depending on how many vampires I click on.

You get 5 vampires at a time? I used to get 4 and now only 3. Because you know, I was progressing way too fast. /sarcasm =/

Same and now I am down to none. Only nuns have appeared in the menu showing four at a time even though I am at maximum capacity in my town with them. Very frustrating.

UPDATE: when timer expired only TWO nuns came out and was immediately replaced with another 4 to be released in 70 minutes. Scratches head. No vampires all day.

Ok seriously, it just seems like hunting at a feed spot with the road like that, I’m just letting the bats travel and waiting till flocks converge to destroy!( ahh good ole Deer Hunter2014 trained!) But everybody says the ole “rag doll” move and I’m feeling left out. Can’t do it on this iphone, what do I have to do, grab the laptop and go through facebook?

Lol. Thanks. Still not “fully functional” but trying to play catch up as fast as I can.
Your approach works just fine too. My tips were more about how to get as much as possible with one Garlic Bomb. 😉

What about the rag doll move? Is that a laptop/computer thing or is it time for me to finally give up on my 🍎4s and get a new phone? Didn’t mean to imply bad mojo with the comment, was just funning! The tip is actually good but I gotta get that rag doll thing going cause my way is hit or miss, usually 2-3 flocks at a time when lucky, 1 flock usually, unless I flood the town with bats and up the odds of mucho flocks being in the vicinity!

Lol. I thought you were being silly. Sorry. Didn’t know an actual question.
Ragdolling is something I have been doing since the game launched. Essentially if a Character is free, you tap on them and they almost hang off your finger as you drag them across the screen. My iPod touch does it along with all my old and new Android Devices. Not sure if it is something yours doesn’t allow. Maybe screen sensitivity? Try a Stylus?

I got this idea from other people and it works tremendously, and also works the best. If you can put in the time and effort, it pays off.
Basically, go to the movie screen to see what creature is spawning next. If vampires are coming out next, I will set a timer on my phone a few minutes sooner than the vampires’ spawn time. Once my timer goes off, I get back into the app and wait for the spawn timer to count down. When the vampires spawn, they spawn in the drive-in parking lot and must walk out toward the town. Because they are restricted to this direct path, if you tap on all vampires directly after the spawn, you can launch a garlic bomb a little bit in front of the bat flocks and they will all be dusted. And getting a mass amount of bat flocks at once almost always results in a big payout. If you can keep a close eye on your spawn timer throughout the day, I strongly recommend using the method.
And since all the vamps/bats get dusted at once, you only need to use one garlic bomb per each spawning. You should be getting 3 garlic bombs every 6 hours, so by only having to use one bomb per each vampire spawning, just 3 bombs should be enough to keep you supplied for each spawning.
AGAIN, I will state, that I learned this method from others who posted on Addicts. But I wanted to share this method with those who haven’t seen it before because it works really well.
For those vampires that spawn overnight, I would recommend Bunny’s Option 1 because it huddles them together in a similar fashion as how they are when they originally spawn.

I kept getting too many flocks (and getting similar ascii errors to what you got above). Now, I’m experiencing the issues with vampires not turning into bats – and ADDITIONALLY it’s crashing now after I collect my rewards from bat crop-dusting.
Anyhow, Thanks for the write-up!
