Bouncing by with an update on something I ran into on the Weekly Challenge as well as some other Players notating the issue here in the comments too.
See No Evil Part 5 Weekly Challenge, Possessed Cars not Spawning.
The launched Weekly Challenge looked something like this…

Peter Starts
Check Out The Prize- Tapping on “Go” will take you to see the Final Prize, Haunted Kid’s Room
Clear 4 Possessed Cars- This will require Death’s Mom to be unlocked
Hit Hook Hand Albert 4 times- Just take out ONE Hook Hand Albert with 4 Giant Magnets

The issue was the Possessed Cars. For whatever reason two of them spawned just fine (or at least one), then they just … stopped. As this is timed and that is not a good thing I reported it.
TinyCo has got back to me that they did locate the bug and will now be RE-launching the Weekly Challenge. So what does this mean for you? Take a look below…
- Those that already completed the Challenge (not sure anyone did) you will not be impacted.
- Those that have started, are in the middle, or working on the Challenge will be reset. This means that a NEW Weekly Challenge will be launched in its place with alternate requirements possible. See the details further down.
What if you spent Clams to get to the point where you were in the Challenge? If you spent Clams to get to the point you were at on the previous version of the Challenge, please in game message them to review the reason for Clams use and if you are eligible to have them returned back. They will be watching for those messages.

Completed Task Earns Haunted Kid’s Room
Haunted Kid’s Room (Decoration): Sits on a 4×4 base. Animated. Lights in the room flicker, toys come to life, bed floats and moves up n down along with other items, creature under the bed appears with eyes lit up and it’s arms come out to match scratches on the floorboards.

View Grand Prize– Tapping on “GO” will take you to the Prize Screen again. Exit back out.
Completed Task Earns Chainsaw Killer (Decoration)
Chainsaw Killer (Decoration): Sits on a 3×3 Base. Animated. He looks around while in place, shakes his chainsaw when tapped. No sound currently.

The challenge triggered for me after I unlocked Death’s Mom and this bug is still there. The first two cars spawned normally, but the third car never showed up. I reported it when I still had 5 hours on the timer, but they never responded and my timer ran out

I finally had another possessed car spawn, approximately 24 hours after the timer ran out, and still no response from TinyCo…

Well, like a few others on here, it looks like I’m getting screwed in the last leg. I’ve achieved all the other challenges in this event, but cannot do this final one as there are no cars to clear. I’ve only cleared the one at the start of the timer, but none have generated since with 9.5 hours to go and sleep calling my name. Messaged TinyCo, but it’s not looking good with so little time remaining. I’ve tried two devices, sent Jerome and Death’s Mom on a few types of tasks, but nothing in making this thing happen.

Finally unlocked Death’s Mom and triggered this challenge. The bug is not fixed. Cleared the first car and a second spawned not long after. Cleared that when Death’s Mom was free again and then nothing for the rest of the 18 hours of the Challenge. The timer has just expired and the next time I log in guess what spawns? Yup a posessed car. 😦

After clearing the first car ( the original) killer car I have not seen a second ?! It’s been over nine hours & my timer is runningdown ! I know that was a problem early on but I thought it’s been since fixed. Is there any suggestions or should I just message tinny I in game?!

I just unlocked Death’s mom. and the 24 hour challenge triggered. But when I tried to click the possessed car, nothing happened. no pop up nothing. I don’t know what to do.

Hey I’m at the stage where I can start the week 5 challenge in the storyline but I don’t have deaths mom yet to trigger it and I’m still trying to get the Worcestershire mansion in the concession stand. Do I still have a chance to get deaths mom and complete the 5the challenge? The ice cream and magnets are seriously slowing me down.

Finally unlocked final weekly challenge last night with securing Death’s Mom (around 5 pm). Collected one possessed car then. Car did not return again until the morning. Collected second possessed car then (6 am). Has been six hours and no car again. Less than five hours left to challenge. Is it supposed to be this tight? I just had Death’s mom free after finishing off final task for Week 5 main quest line and I sent her to collect a magnet. Will have four hours for the final car to enter game. Are people seeing this lack of cars appearing this late in the game? reading the comments it looks like it should be appearing every 3-4 hours.

Been 24 hours since the possessed car has spawned. Missed out on the final weekly challenge and the grand prize. Now I am missing out on the chance at precious ice cream. Must be I am the only one. Have reinstalled my game and restarted my device. In-game messages sent (which always go without a response) and an email to help@tinyco.com as listed on support page in this blog.
Anyone else having issues? Any other trouble shooting suggestions?

I tried to find an answer in other threads besides this one, so sorry if I’ve overlooked it. I know your time is precious!
I still need one spatula and one plate before I unlock Death’s mom to trigger the Week 5 Challenge. My next movie countdown ends in 2 1/2 hours. If I don’t unlock her and trigger the weekly challenge before the extra “week 6” starts, will I lose the option to win the week 5 prize, and therefore lose the grand prize that I’ve already gotten ALL the previous weeks for?
Thank you for all of the time and effort you put in to this site for us! I only learned of this a few months after I started playing earlier this year, but I’ve been visiting almost daily since. You rock!

Yes, even though Phase 6 has loaded in my game, as soon as I unlocked Death’s Mom just now, the 24 hour timed quest to obtain Week 5’s prize immediately popped up. So now I won’t miss out on the grand prize. Yay!

I have Peter walking around town with a “!” above his head. I don’t want to press him because I don’t know if it is the GhostBuster Quagmire challenge or the See No Evil Pt. 5. I have Death’s Mom’s building placed but I have not unlocked her yet. So, does the mission start when you PLACE the building she is in or when you UNLOCK her?

Mine triggered as soon as i unlocked Death’s Mom. So yes, it’s working correctly now.

I wrote into TinyCo asking them to consider allowing more drop options for magnets from previous Premium characters like Freddy, Jason, Alien, Predator, Cleveland, etc. as well as to increase the drop rate from rare to uncommon or common seeing as how the four options I currently have to drop magnets only gave me ONE magnet.
Support said they would pass on the suggestion and I REALLY hope they consider it since I’m already two days behind in this event and I play pretty much CONSTANTLY, lol.
As a side question, I have been REALLY wondering what exactly the acronym NPC means for town squatters in this website, lol. So far, I’ve come up with Non-playable character, non-portable character, new potential character, and now please clear, hahaha. I have no clue! Sorry if this seems like or IS a dumb question, but I’m just curious! Lol. THANK YOU BUNNY FOR ALL YOU DO! You’re quite an amazing lady!

Non Playable Character. Roams streets like a Character, looks like a Character, but you can’t play with it and send it on tasks like a Character. 😉
TinyCo calls them “Walking Decorations” or “Moving Decorations”.

I started the new movie this morning and already have everything up to the Dragons Den. Deaths Mom is taking a long time but I’ll eventually get there.
I’m trying to get her unlocked so I can start getting cars and so I can start the new weekly goal.

Is the weekly challenge triggered now as soon as you unlock Death’s Mom or is it still part 4 but Death’s Mom has to be unlocked?

I assume still after Part 4 because that’s when the Cars arrive… BUT with the addition that you have to have her unlocked too.

I’ve had the car driving around chasing Jerome since I started phase 5, so already in pt1 of the new main questline.

Same here! I thought maybe something was wrong with my game bc I’m ONLY on part 2, and hesitant to move further on the main questline, bc I don’t have Deaths Mom unlocked (I don’t even have the spider trap unlocked) and Jerome is tied up being chased around by a possessed car (so no more garlic bombs to possibly earn sodas from bats).
Also, do you think they will do anything else with ALL the 3D glasses I’ve earned? Must be in the 200’s, but can’t really tell bc there’s unfortunately no counter for this currency in this event. 😦

Seeing as I have every other prize I definitely want this to complete the set and get the Grand Prize, however at the rate I’m not getting drops, it’s gonna take a long time to unlock Death’s Mom. After 1 full day I have 1 apron and 4 spatulas and that’s it even though I have the basalisk. 10 hour tasks are ridiculous to have for this.

I was holding off setting Death’s Dog to Howl (… something…) in part 3, but now we can safely continue without fearing the timer.
Any clue on how often we can expect the car to attack Jerome?

Still waiting to check on that. Will update if I get any clarification, otherwise I am seeing how long it takes in my game for another to show up.

Always on top of it Bunny. Glad they changed the trigger to Death’s mom being in your game. I was holding off on the main quest line so I didn’t trigger it by mistake.
Does this fulfill the requirements for the grand prize? I didn’t see mention of that here or in the previous new content posts where this challenge was mentioned. If you use the in-game event tab, it only lists five weeks of challenges leading to the grand prize but with an extra week added it would just be like the sillies at TinyCo to add in another challenge. I really want to know if the prize is a deco or not (I am assuming it is). I may forgo the whole thing in my B game since I am considerably behind there and want characters as opposed to decos or skins.

That was another one of my Concerns. I am glad they took it to heart to make that small but significant change for Players. It should, I can’t verify it until I am able to finish it myself… so I did not include the details yet. Sometimes the Grand Prize is awarded right away, sometimes a few days later, and then other times after Event. Until I can see it with my own eyes and confirm it, I don’t like to post info on it as it may cause confusion.
I assume as in the past the final item is an Animated Deco. I will definitely let you know when I get it. 😉

Yes, I was also holding off on the main quest line. I wanted to make sure that I had Death’s mother before I got too much further into the game. I could have just brought her straight out, like I am sure some other people have (to have been able to get her this fast). I have already spent a lot on the game though and with the cost of clams going up a considerable amount this past month in Australia (3,500 clams was $129.99 but is now $159.99), I am trying to only use them when I find it necessary. Good to know I can advance now without worrying about missing out on the last timed item (as I have every other item so far). 🙂
