Where The Hell…? Murder Machine

Note From Bunny: This post was brought to you by the generous help of one of our very own Addicts Readers! Thanks!!

In this lil game of ours, it is easy to get lost and so focused into collecting items or unlocking characters that we tend to forget the lil things that make the game what it is. Like Where the HELL did these items come from and why are they in our games?

Well I am here to do just that for you. Let’s take a look at the Family Guy Series and find out just Where The HELL Did That Come From?
Murder Machine

In this post, I will be covering the origin of the Murder Machine. Why does this hippy van have such a scary name? Where did it show up in the Family Guy series? Does it look like we have another mystery on our hands? Let’s split up and look for clues in the TV episodes…

Season 1, Episode 2: I Never Met the Dead Man
Meg’s road test is tomorrow, so she asks Peter for driving practice; “Ah, sorry Meg, daddy loves you but daddy also loves Star Trek, and in all fairness, Star Trek was here first.” Cue William Shatner…

Lois criticises Peter for watching TV too much and not spending enough time with his family, so he eventually agrees to help, giving valuable advice: “if you ever catch eyes with the guy next to you at a red light, you gotta race him.” Meg then gets in a race with a horse and carriage, and apart from forgetting to flip the other guy off, she does a nice job.

The next day, Meg and Peter are waiting in line at the DMV, although Peter complains that he’ll miss Fox’s new reality show: “Fast Animals, Slow Children.” <Dramatic tiger chase music> “C’mon guys, wait up!” <Dramatic tiger chase music> “Oh, dang, I got honey all over my legs!” <Very dramatic tiger chase music>.

Murder Machine 2

Unfortunately, Meg’s test doesn’t go well after she tries to race a police car at traffic lights: “Are you gonna mark me down for not flipping him off?” While Peter is driving Meg home, he tries to watch “Fast Animals, Slow Children” through someone’s window, but then nearly hits a lorry and crashes into the Quahog Cable Television Transmitter, knocking out cable TV across the town. After trying to blame Bigfoot, Peter tells a group of angry people that Meg did it, promising to buy her a convertible if she takes the blame.

Murder Machine 3

Peter starts to suffer without TV, and while talking to Brian at the Clam, he wonders what Scooby and the gang are up to right now. Cue “The Scooby Doo Murder Files”, with Fred saying “Gee whiz, gang. Looks like the killer gutted the victim, strangled him with his own intestines, and then dumped the body in the river!” Velma: “Jinkies! What a mystery!” Scooby Doo: “Raooo!” Fred: “You’re right, Scoob. We’re dealing with one sick son of a —–”… well, you get the idea. The ‘Murder Machine’ (though different-looking from the one in our games) is in the background of one shot.

Murder Machine 4

The rest of the story focuses on Peter’s withdrawal and independence from TV, until he and William Shatner are accidentally ran over by Meg, in a storm that was caused by Stewie’s See ‘n Say weather control device… Oh, and here’s what Tom and Diane do when they think no-one’s watching…

Murder Machine 5

There you have it, a quick background appearance in a cutaway gag, and the Murder Machine is in our games (well, more by name than appearance). What do you think of the Murder Machine? Did you remember this episode? Wish there was more Scooby Doo stuff in our games? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below.

  1. Can I Just Point Out The Lovely Reference To One Of My Fave Shows, Supernatural, With The Item: Warded Bunker. I Would Be Surprised If I Was The Only One To Notice This.
