I am bouncing by with some clarification and “help” for some of the Main Questions I am seeing so far for the Best of 2015 Event.
MISSING BUILDINGS?
With some of you not playing during the Original Events many of these Character/Costumes were released, some of you also missed out on the Buildings that were needed to go with them. Whether they used the location for their Questlines or Tasks.
TinyCo already has plans to re-release some Buildings to assist with this, so keep an eye out for them to hit the game.
In the meantime, let me know the names of the locations YOU see that are needed for the Characters you now have. I am compiling a list myself using the original Events… but I want to make sure that list of needed Buildings is accurate as some tasks changed after the Events were over.
CHARACTERS MISSING QUESTLINES
With the New Characters/Costumes hitting the game, a lot of New Questlines will be arriving too. Some are already active in the game, others will be coming. So if you do not see one yet… wait. TinyCo is still compiling some to release. Also, a few may require the Re-realeased Buildings to start it.
DON CORLEONE ITEMS CRASHING
Seeing a few reports of Players games crashing when trying to collect for Don Corleone. I did report it to them, feel free to do so as well from your game. Otherwise, you can try some of the Basics to see if that helps.
MATERIAL DROP RATES
I see this every Event… concerns on the Drop Rates of the Materials. The best advice I can offer is just keep continually sending the Characters. It SHOULD work out that they drop in the correct amount of time.
I have already addressed your concerns with TinyCo and they are, as usual, keeping an eye on things.
A few side points on drops, if the task takes LONGER, the drop is more likely. For instance an EPIC drop at 12hrs is more likely to drop than an EPIC at 4hrs. Just try to keep ALL available Characters continually on the Tasks for the drops.
Now if you do see there is a Drop needed but a Building you do not have is needed too, please let me know. I want to make sure those are on the release ones they are going to be dropping into the game.
These items I placed in another post, but wanted to address them here too…
Santa’s Workshop can’t be moved: They’re working on it. It’s not priority but will be patched.
Missing Clams?: Saw only a few comments that players lost clams when refreshed out of the Raid to the North Pole Event. If this happened to you write them ASAP. No reports yet.
Secret Spy Brian 24 Task took Clams: For those that the game DID charge Clams for running this 24hr task before the patch was put through, they will help fix it. I know some got an auto message about “Event items”… but no worries. Just make sure you in game message them and follow up while they get it corrected.
There you have it, a few items of concern that I wanted to address.

I finished collecting for greased up deaf guy a couple of days ago and like others my screen freezes when I try to unlock him. I should be well on my way with the Don but I can’t even get started. I sent a message to Tinyco but of course I haven’t heard back.

Can’t even get into my game now. Awesome. Hope they plan on fixing all these issues as soon as possible. The don missions disappeared so I put boom back into quahog and sent him on a different task and now my game will not even load. Looking forward to see if and how they fix this mess now……

That happened to me too. I put Don on a task that wasn’t part of his quest to see if that would “keep him” in the game and now I can’t even get into the game. I reported it via email to TinyCo.

I’m also the building for mr washee washee, and there must be one for the judge also because he isn’t doing anything useful either. I wrote them in game but have not gotten a reply in days.

I got the mob consuela and started her quest but then it dissappeared and I’m just wondering if that leads to the other mob characters.

Placed the Don before reading this and now cannot access games as it crashes every time on loading.

Another funny thing I just experienced was when I sent Francine Smith on her 1 hour task at the school, she moved backwards like she was moonwalking. Very funny.

Today I have got the final item for GUDG and when I unlock him my game freezes.

I have everything for scrotes but the donuts: ( have 1 and have completed the glasses and beard trimmers. The trimmers are epic drops but I finished those first. Sending the three characters to do the task for the donuts constantly but not dropping. I understand it is random but when I can get epic items so quickly but not extra rare ones, it seems a little lopsided.

I now have less than 15 minutes to unlock Don Corleone. I still need two more fedoras but Scrotes has been a tough nut on dropping them. I guess I’ll miss on getting that character for a second time. I don’t really care though because he’s pointless just like 95% of the rest of them.

The Don was placed in the charater marketplace for free, but there is a new issue with him in my game. The game is not “saving” him. I will place him into the game and start his questiline task. After I close the game and return later he is no longer in the game and back in the marketplace, while Peter is still on his portion of the task with no issues…………………..

That happened to me too. So I sped him through and Peter and started the 2nd part and now my game crashes when I try to go back. It will load almost all the way and crash.

I saw the comments here that the Don could go into our games if you had earned him so I put him in and the quest line started. I sent he (shoeshine) and Peter (shipoopi) on tasks. I went back and Peter was still going, but the Don was back in inventory. Tried it again (shoeshine task); same thing (back in inventory when I went back in my game). So, thinking something was wrong with the task, I sent him on the two-hour task in the Griffin House. Seemed to be fine, until I went back to my game and now the game won’t load. At all. Tried uninstall and reinstall and won’t load my game (loads new game fine but won’t load once I put in my user credentials). I would advise any player to NOT put him in your game until we get the OK sign from Bunny. All I am doing is his quest line and leveling up characters so I can live without having the game until they get this fixed. Assuming they can get this fixed.

Ha, yeah, same here. Took my Don out of shop, set him on a 2hr task and now I can’t get back into my game. Outstanding, well done TC!

Thank you Barry for this post. I did the same exact thing, 2 hour task, and I can’t get back in either. Thought it was on my end. Nice to know I’m not alone. Have been in contact with TinyCo via emails. Hopefully be fixed soon.

Same here! The timer expired and as soon as it did, the Don appeared in the store for free. I placed him, set him and Peter on their tasks, and that is the last thing I’ve done in my game… I even tried updating since there was a new version on Google Play, but it still crashes before it finishes loading.

I’m having the same problem as many others here. Initially I couldn’t get him after completing all required tasks and he had the bouncing check mark over his head with 15 hours to go on the timer. Every time I clicked the check mark it would cause the game to crash. I watched the timer count down to 1 second and then he vanished completely from my game.
I saw others comments about finding him available for free in the market and eventually got him into my game that way, but never had a quest line start up for him so I decided to place him on his 2-hour task in the Griffin house and that’s the last time I was able to get into my game. Now, whenever I try to play, the splash screen will load and when the yellow progress bar is completely full, the game will crash and close out to my tablet’s home screen.
I have already emailed support@tinyco and am waiting for an actual response (as opposed to the generic automatic reply I received for the crash report).

I too received the Don for free – and began his quest line. However each time I exit the game he goes back into my inventory. The quest is still active and Peter is shapooping-ing away and I have to pull the out the Don each time. He can stay in there until they sort this out.

Ms. Bunny — not sure if this is happening to others as well, but I earned The Godfather, read the comments here and put him in my game when he was listed as “free” and sent him on the first task. I went back into my game about 30 mins later to do something else and he had disappeared from my game. The quest line is active and Peter is doing his task but The Godfather was back in inventory. So I tried it again to put him on task. He started it and the countdown was running, so I hard closed my game and reentered it and again he is gone. Glad to have him in my game, but I am guessing there is still some work that needs to be done for us to keep him.

The epic drop rate… I’ve gotten three, from all those characters playing steadily. But that’s what the game is- I bet we’ll all get almost there, close enough to make it a less expensive purchase.
Plus, realistically none of these characters will be used in the future. They’re too rare, the game is designed to allow anyone to drop in at any time and fully participate in events. So, there’s no reason to stress. It’s kind of a weird event in that sense. What am I really trying to do? Get more people to place in inventory?

I’ll probably get enough beard trimmers for one of GUDG or Scrotes but definitely not enough for both.
I hope this isn’t a new direction they are going in to get people to buy clams. Will make collecting items kind of pointless. Would rather they just call it a premium character from the start. At least it would be honest.

But if they do this then less people buy stuff which means they get less money… Instead, if they make characters ‘nearly free’ and people have spent days trying to collect stuff for them and are just a few things short then there’s much more of an incentive to buy them out. Simples.

I play two games and had Don “collected for” in one game and he was available for free under the characters tab even though his timer has expired and he had disappeared. I am still collecting for the three characters in my second game and he is locked up under the characters tab there. I hope he is also “free” once I get all three characters instead of having to collect for him. I’ll be lucky to get all three by the end of the event with all that is needed (and nothing on Death’s Mom yet!) so it is doubtful I can collect for Don as well before the event ends. I would be totally fine with the timer if they go that route — so long as it extends beyond the event AND it works to get him into our games.

I saw the post about drop rate but it seems like Im unnaturally behind. Since the start Ive only collected one beard trimmer and theres no way I will have 10 to unlock both characters let alone enough time to unlock The Don. Any comments? (If not feel free to ditch this post).

My drop rates are horrible. Have all dropping characters running tasks 3 times or more if possible. Getting uncommon items but hardly any trimmers. Not buying anything for real cash so not too worried about the teaser event. Just glad I don’t have to put up with it for too much longer.

This event seemed to have such promise, it is mind-boggling how messed up it has become. I kinda get a technical error that snuck up on them (yet don’t understand how it can happen when it is a cornerstone of the game), but establishing an item-collecting task and not making the building available is just poor planning. I kinda get the three-day timer for Don once you have all of the characters — but only if it extends beyond the event end. The grease has been tougher than “uncommon” and the donuts being “extra rare” are rough as well. To only have two freemium characters for both wouldn’t be so bad if there wasn’t such a tight window. And Death’s Mom hasn’t even dropped yet (I expected her overnight like the other two were). I don’t mind one bit that all three characters take to the end of the event — unless that results in no shot for Don because his timer doesn’t run beyond. Then it is kinda like, why bother? The indifference by players (and TinyCo) in finishing events due to the inability to do so due to the many glitches will be one of the things that kills this game.

I had the same issue and solution as JOEYMETS, and now have the Don in my game. I cannot however open my game anymore since I received the Don (crashes on load everytime, did a reboot/restart). Anyone else seeing this issue? I messaged TinyCo so hope to have it resolved soon.

I’m having the same problem that other users have with app crashing whenever I try to claim Don Corleone and now my countdown is over. Already send a message to TinyCo with screencaps. Hopefully they’ll fix it soon.

I had the same issue, and was just able to go back in and “purchase” him again for free. He was already unlocked and I am already on his quest line. Give that a try.

Sadly, like everyone else, my joy was short-lived. When I went back into my game, he was back in the store. So I got him out again. After a few times of this, and a couple messages to tinyco, my game also crashes while loading and I cannot get into it. Hopefully they come up with a fix soon.

I really hope they give you a chance to unlock Corleone after the timer and not just buy us off with a small clam compensation. I have all the items, but like many others the game crashes when I try to collect the very last bubble to get to unlocking him. And there is only 2.5 hours left now, tech support will be asleep in the US, so nothing will happen before the timer runs out. There I complained enough. I sent them an in game message and screenshot. I can’t do any thing else right now

Hey guys been having only one issue already unlocked mr washee washee during the gangster event but detective scrotes needs mr washee washee criticize ang lee pictures to drop grandmas glasses but my mr washee washee doesnt have that option do i need a building or am i missing something else? Is there a quest after you unlock detective scrotes? Mine didn’t give a quest…also I lost a quest for robocop and the judge…the “!” was over their heads and I clicked to finish another task and both times the “!” went away….is this a known issue?

I am having the same issue as you are. I did contact TinyCo. I haven’t heard anything back from them yet. I’ve been scouring the comments for someone else having the same problem. Glad to know I’m not the only one! Hopefully TinyCo will be able to get it taken care of. I’ve even went as far as trying it on my PC (I typically play on my ipod touch). Still crashes.

I think it’s pretty messed up that I have gotten 3 beard trimmers and those are epic but only 1 donut and those are extra rare. Think they need to fix the drop rates. My characters are continually on tasks for the items and I have all the possible characters except for mr. Miyagi.

On this one the problem isn’t drop rate, it’s the massively fewer number of characters who can drop it. In my case it’s Bonnie and Jerome alone, since I don’t have Mr Miyagi and don’t plan on getting him (not that he’d make much difference). Compare that to the 9 characters I currently have questing for Beard Trimmers, and the Epic tag suddenly doesn’t mean as much.
Right now I’m sitting at 3 Beard Trimmers and 1 Donut (which I just now got). Heh, usually it’s the Uncommon items that get me… (21/30 at the moment)

Finished Don Corleon with 1 day 11 hours left and was unable to collect him without the game freezing. I waited to see if they would fix it but they haven’t…I messaged them and screenshot the issue. Still no response and 4 hours left… If time runs out are they still going to give everyone the character they should have recieved? This will be the second time I lose him as tinyco never gave him to me when I won him in the mobster leaderboard

I went into my game to take screen shot of having everything for Don corleone, I took it and clicked on him and I unlocked him without having the game crash. Guess they fixed it.

Still not working for me. Stopped, cleared cache, restarted and tried again many times. No update in app store. No responses for any of my messages to TinyCo. Just 4 hours remaining on the timer now. This isn’t quite as frustrating as getting nothing for a whole week of hard work in the ‘Best of 2014’ event, but shows that TinyCo still haven’t improved. I give up – they’re hopeless!

I lost over 400 clams I wrote to them and got a generic we can not answer you response. Those clams cost me a lot of money and I am not too happy with them about it.

I really hope that those of us who have collected all of the Don’s materials and can’t collect him are not penalized if our timer runs out before Monday morning. It’s not our fault they are out of the office during this new crisis. Sending out positive energy for us all to be taken care of. 🙂

Despite having greased up deaf guy he appears locked up. I notified support and they said it was a known issue and a fix had been pushed and to restart my device. 24 hours and three restarts and he remains locked.

I have collected all of the items for Don Corleone and have all his overhead bubbles checked. Yet no matter what order I attempted to pop the bubbles, my game crashes on the third bubble and I can’t get to the gold unlocked padlock. I have sent a message to support, but the automated message that was returned related to the issue at the beginning of the game where people who already had him in the game were having problems with the game crashing.
So, since my timer continues to count down even though I have all the items and will expire before TinyCo will return to the office for normal business hours on Monday, I attempted to use the Replay Kit in the support tab. I have iOS9 and the red light blinks but whenever I attempt to show either the timer or the bubbles over Don’s head, they don’t show no matter what I try. He stands alone with nothing over his head. I must be doing something wrong.
So, I used the search tool on this site and found a post announcing the Replay Kit tool (dated October 22, 2015) and it states within that post that “a post is coming with more information”. Could you please provide the link to that post with the additional information? I have searched every post on the site since October 22 and can’t find it anywhere. I want proof that I collected everything before the timer ran out because once the timer runs out and he disappears I will have no proof since he will disappear from my game forever. I took screenshots and sent them through the support section but I am not sure that is proof enough for TinyCo (I read where TinyCo accused someone of “borrowing” photos from other people’s games). Don’t want to lose Don Corleone because my timer expired over the weekend and no one could look into my game to verify that I had collected all of the items.
Thanks so much for directing me to the proper post for using the Replay Kit. I know you hate when people ask you obvious questions that you have answered or posted information on and you just drop a link in the reply message, but I have used the search engine for the site and then reviewed every post since October 22 and I just can’t find this post with more information on the Replay Kit. Video showing the character and the timer and the checked bubbles and other aspects (coin/clam counts, quest line progression, building layouts) that are specific to my game would be definitive proof that I did what was required and I can hopefully get the character when they finally look into my game on Monday after the timer has expired.

I have finished most quest. Have 133 characters, countless buildings and all but 1 outfit. So I am not a new player. But about 4 mois ago I had old gold quest pop up and I can finish part 2 because it is asking for the golden pool. Which is not available. Any ideas or suggestions would help.

You need to be playing on iOS for the gold items. So if you temporarily were on one but back to android, you won’t see it.

Argh on the epic drop rates. Been having my people go continuously since scrotes was available, and I have 1 beard trimmer (3 donuts, so that’s going a little better). While I’m on track to get him…Don Corleone is looking much less likely afterwards with whatever time is left.
No epic drop rates on such limited time events, and I have let them know that too.

I am having opposite problem. My epic and ultra rare are dropping well, my uncommons on the other hand are stunted. I have all the trimmers and over half my donuts, my glasses are at 5 after a day and 8 people working on it. So it just comes down to the random rolls to see if they drop.

What I wonder is will it ever be an event which goes without any issues? I’m mostly a freemium player but can speed up some tasks or buy a premium character from time to time. But Tiny Co. seems to get more and more relaxed and careless when it comes to quality. I wasn’t able to proceed in the Christmas event for over a week which never happened before. Such things just make me unwilling to buy anything more from them..

Sadly… this is the life of app market games no matter the game house. Majority of them flawed. It’s more due to the constant pressures to constantly push new things… and get them out fast. No matter how big or small… 50 or 50000 employees… all companies still have glitches in theither games.

I’m having the same issue, I can’t turn in the final materials to actually unlock him. I’ve got a solid 15 hours left on my timer. Dunno if this is exactly the freezing with material drops you were referring to here, Bunny. I messaged them and included a screenshot of the final checked off material bubble, but I imagine if this is affecting us, others may experience a similar issue. Restarting my device (iPhone) and going on through Facebook did not fix the problem. Hopefully they respond soon! I got a generic response about the known issue with people having to reunlock the Don after already earning him before this, but I wrote again to clarify to them that I hadn’t earned him from the mafia event.

3 days, and absolutely nothing has dropped, i think its time to take a break…its more annoying now than anything…lost a whole week with the xmas stuff cause of the buildings bug, just seems like more of an annoyance than anything right now…maybe ill try again in a couple months.

Is there an official statement as how common is common, uncommon is uncommon, and so on, like percentages?

No. As it varies per player, the Characters you have, etc. The actual % numbers were never realeased. We made guesses on it here… but that’s all it is… guess

I know this may not be priority but can you message TinyCo. to re-release dome of the decorations as well? I will message them but I am hoping by getting other to do so as well we can get a chance at some of the decoration we did not get enough of (the hedge fencing from the Mafia event comes in mind).

Mostly the plants (Cherry trees, hedge fencing, bamboo shoots) from the mobster event and the various sculptures and the mud-pit from the Peterpalooza event. Maybe other people have other suggestions but those are the ones I mostly want.

Being a gay guy I’m sad I missed the Fire Island decoration. I have no idea when it was even released but I’d love to buy it!

I just don’t agree with rare, extra rare, or epic items with amounts even at four, on a limited time timer. Either it should be available to unlock by the end of the event if you want to add that, or just keep it always, common, and/or uncommon with a little higher amount for timers. Especially when only one person can get that item (Detective Scrotes and Fedoras.) I need three Fedoras in 25 hours. Which means six chances I have. I’m just bummed I’m not going to get him for the second time.

I have all the items to unluck Don Corneloni but my game crashes when I unlock him. I only have 1 day 4 hours to get the problem fixed, if not I will miss him from my game. I already messaged tiny co but no reply yet. 😦

I have the same issue. I did report it to tiny co too. They responded instantly to me stating that their engineers are aware of the issue and will pass on my message.

I have five hours left. Two Fedoras needed, no money to pay, I’m giving up on the Don, no response, and nothing done about the situation. I’m not sending another message to Tiny Co. In my opinion, one is enough, I don’t need to spam them more. Thanks for everything Bunny, but once again like most events, I’ve been left feeling disappointed and upset than happy and enjoying the game. You do a lot, thanks for all you do. This is not a good day for me with this game. Twice I’ve lost the opportunity to get him, both none of my fault for not having money to spend on the game.
