I am bouncing by with some clarification and “help” for some of the Main Questions I am seeing so far for the Best of 2015 Event.
MISSING BUILDINGS?
Still no word as of yet as to WHEN they will be bringing back some Buildings from the past, just that there were plans for it.
CHARACTERS MISSING QUESTLINES
Wanted to touch on this again as it is still being asked. MANY Characters don’t have Questlines or only have partial ones. This is due to either a Building or another Character from the Event being required originally for the Questline. Due to this, some of them are still in progress. WHEN they complete working on them, you may see more Questlines drop into your game. Until then, some will not have them or short ones for now.
GREASED UP DEAF GUY & DON CRASHING
TinyCo has now pushed out at least 3 patches to try and help with collectin GUDG crashing the game as well as putting Don Corleone on his 2hr task crashing and then locking the Player out of the game.
Most of the patches worked, but there are still a few stubborn devices (seems mainly iOS) that will not accept them. They are still working on it. Hang in there.
For those that the patch DID work, some of the Characters (depending on how far you were) autocompleted. You will find them wandering your streets or in your Inventory Storage.
This also means some of those Character Collections will be completed in FaceSpace awarding you Clams for completing the group. Check your FaceSpace to see the individual Groups.
DON’S 3 DAY TIMER??!!
I have been going back and forth with TinyCo on the concern for this one and got word a bit ago on this.
For those that have placed Don in your game… BEFORE the Event Ends… you will get your FULL 3 days on the timer to unlock him. (You will have until the timer runs out.) Just make sure he is in the game prior. (No, I am not talking about those with the issue of crashing above. Wait til your game is patched, then we will find out how they will resolve it.)
EVENT ENDS TOMORROW!!!
Outside of that, the Event is still set to end tomorrow at 3PM Pacific unless otherwise notified. Make sure you have your final purchases and chances at the Mystery Boxes done. As well as the items collected and the Characters LIVE in your game BEFORE the Event ends to keep them.
If you can’t find them, check Al’s to make sure if it is a costume… it was completed. Check Inventory too. ALL of Inventory for them as they can drop in at any spot.
There you have it, a few items of concern that I wanted to address.

Family Guy Addicts 
Since I already had all the characters involved (GUDG, Death’s Mom and Detective Scrotes), I was easily done with the stuff needed to unlock Don Corleone, but I couldn’t claim him because of the “last item” bug. After a few hours (and in-game mailing with TinyCo) he was gone from my Quahog and reappeared as a free character in the shop. For a first time I placed him in game and started his questline, but when I closed and reopened the game he was back in the shop and from that moment on I’ve never been able to keep him in game again: every time I reopened the game he was in the shop and the questline never reappeared. Lots of players were having troubles with the 2h task, so I didn’t even try it.
Now the event has finished, and Don Corleone has gone with it…

Was wondering if there was a plan to do a poll on this little event. I’m curious to know how many people collected the materials for the don without having to spend clams. I have 15hrs left with 2 more drops needed from GUDG. The other two are done. Would be ok if the last 3-4 drops from him didn’t come up empty.
I have no idea why I had convinced myself the Don was a little freebie they were throwing at us. I was annoyed when we had to collect things for him instead of just unlocking him but the requirements seemed easy enough so I thought no big deal, I’ll go thru the motions. Maybe I’m wrong and most people had things drop without clams.
Hope you get well soon Bunny, really appreciate all you and the others do for us with this silly little game. Especially with all the complaining people do, kind of like this comment……

I was one stuff away from greased up deaf guy, and 2-3 items uncommon items away from death’s mom and bam, content gone. Surely they could have one last prompt for “this content is leaving, wanna play the clams?”
was sending all available characters on the tasks, coming back to the minute when i could, and still couldn’t do it. sick of this. and now another event and still the game is crashy as anything. sick of tinyco.

They did. There was an in game pop up, and it was on all my Mystery Box Posts as well as when the Event launched and pop ups in between. Sorry you missed their usual cut off time of Thursday at 3pm Pacific they do every event.

I got Scrotes and Death’s mom auto-completed with the patch. They finished character collections but no clams, just complete (checkmark).

A little over a day left for the Don and GUDG has yet to drop a gold ring. Death’s mom and Detective Scrotes are finished with their drops.
They really need to fix the whole drop rate thing when up against a timer.
Seems like every time the task is performed, there’s an x percent chance of getting the drop. In such a short span, there isn’t enough time for the percentages to work out. They would be better off requiring that a task be completed a certain amount of times.

Still no luck for them fixing the free don disappearing from games, I have once again messaged them and sent pictures to prove this. I just hope they fix it as I dont want to lose out on him. Thanks Bunny for providing info and calming everyone down 🙂

I’m incredibly upset with this event, not because of the content, or the crashes (Of Which hasn’t happened to me) but because it seems impossible.
Since day 1 of this event I’ve been sending every character I can on their tasks to obtain items, yet only a total of 2 Beard trimmers have dropped. And the asking price of 60 glasses is ridiculous for freemium players, I have Peter, Glenda Vajmire, Meg, and Dr. Hartman all working towards the beard trimmers, yet only 2 have dropped with about a 4 day interval between it.
Like most of the events in 2015 (Besides Valentines, Star Trek, and Raid the North Pole) this one was very disappointing.

I had the same problem, I didn’t get anywhere near enough items for either of the three characters, let alone the Don. This was a total waste of a week for me, I should have ignored the event altogether when I saw that there were nine ‘epic’ drops on four / six hour tasks to be achieved within one week. This event was pretty rubbish – even without the problems.
But the next one is much much better, so that’s good news 🙂

My game is working again – yeah! I was actually done with this event last sunday when I collected the last items for the Don, but all the crashes kept me busy. Out of sheer joy I bought Jack. Plus, fifty clams looks like a bargain for a full character in this game. Especially compared to all the skins on offer. Frankly, I hardly ever use any of them after the event they were intended for. All te skin-heavy characters are constantly in use anyway, for whatever event is just running. No rest for the stupid, I guess 😉

I messaged them about Spy Brian’s task taking clams, and no response. I really want them quick, if I get it back I will have just enough to get one more mystery box before the event ends. 😦

I got the three characters unlocked with the patches and so far I’m pleased with the drop rate to unlock Don. I’m about halfway on his drops and halfway into his three day timer.

The GUDG glitch has been fixed for me too now so I’ve got all 3 of the collectable characters now and working on Don which should be fairly easy to do in 3 days. I’m surprised I managed to get this one done within the week

I was still having trouble unlocking gudg until this morning. It took tiny co more then a day to respond (i think because im in the UK, time difference and the time I messaged them) but when they did reply, they said they had pushed the fix for me and low and behold, there he was!
Was a bit miffed about not having enough time to get the don but after reading this post i feel like I’ve been given the chance to get him legit. Thanks bunny xxx

Thank you Bunny. I was getting very angry when my game kept crashing on my Ipad. I read this post, calmed down, then contacted them. You stated they were working on it, but IOS still had issues, they responded back. I shut down, started back up and Greased Up Deaf Guy is now free. If i hadn’t read this update, i was going to flip out. Thank you.

I am having huge issues with items not dropping. I need like 25 stupid beard trimmers by tomorrow and I have pretty much all characters who are needed to getvthem. I’ve contacted tinyco several times and each time I get the same generic response about games crashing. I’m not having a crashing issue, so I know they’re not actually reading glasses my messages. That’s super frustrating, especially given how many clams I’ve wasted on this event

Just be very specific when you message them again. “My Beard Trimmers are not dropping”
It’s usually extra dialog about other things that the auto generated messages may catch hold of. Let me know if that helps.
Question though… are you saying since that not one single Trimmer has dropped… ever? How many days have you been trying? How many Characters?

Am tempted to spend 230 of my remaining ~260 Clams on Tomik and Jack. Partially for completion’s sake (I already have Belgard and Finn), but also to help remove the temptation to use Clams on extraneous items or quest completion in these events. I’ve spent a fair bit of IRL money on this game since I started playing, and if I make it more expensive to continue doing so, it may help me go full Freemium…

I was lucky enough to have all characters unlock for me yesterday without collecting all the items needed was a very good mistake 😉 lol and know I only need 3 items left to unlock don (one of each) so by 5am est I should have don I am ready for the next thing bunny any idea what we can expect…? Maybe another district or more dog griffins ! I’m ready all questlines are done besides gudg and chuggs (since I just got them)

I’m still plagued by the bug where the Don appears free in my shop but won’t remain in the game. I’m on iOS. Just curious if I should let them know in a message so they can investigate in specific games the patches haven’t hit yet or if it would be redundant to pester them further cause they’re still working on it.
Also, thank you times a billion, Bunny. It cannot be said enough times how helpful you and this site are and that you clearly have the patience of a saint.

The same thing keeps happening to me. I get Don from the store, then I close the game and reload, and he’s back in the shop. I’m afraid to put him on a task in case I get locked out of my game. Already reported to TinyCo. I’m also on iOS.

Same with me too and I’m using Android. I tried to message them but not one word from Tinyco. This is very strange as it used to be fixed immediately.

I don’t see this anywhere in the comments, but it seems as if you need a building for a task, TinyCo has redirected them to another “common” building. I had Mr. Washee Washee doing his task at good guise this afternoon, but when I came back this evening to collect he came out of the Griffins house and back in when I started his task again.

I sent in stats and so do regular reader Evil Ned. Hoping that helped them see where all the “broken” questlines were.
It’s buildings and characters from their original events causing hold ups, but looks like progress…. so Woohoo!

Thanks for the tip on the Don’s timer, I was going to spend clams tomorrow for him. Can’t decide on the mystery box. 1 character I want, 1 skin I don’t. Do I gopher it?

i had a similar dilemma. I wanted Jillian but had a chance of getting a costume (I think stewie) that I didn’t want. decided to go for it anyway and was lucky to get the character. Depends how bad you want him/her. Are you willing to dish another 125 clams in the event that you don’t get who you want? In my case I was willing to as I like her character on the show. This is coming from a freemium player who usually doesn’t use clams unless necessary.

Ok, I was having the game crash for Greased Guy and sent a ticket. They answered in 3 hours saying the issue was fixed, and it has been fixed for me.

I’ve just had a message from TinyCo that there has been another patch and this one has worked for me. GUDG unlocked, now I am working on Don.

Currently I haven’t been able to unlock GUDG without freezing on Firefox: he did unlock briefly for me on my second attempt, running some of his interaction with Alice Cooper, before freezing again and continuing to freeze since, with no intro content running at all. Tried all day with no success…BUT, that’s not quite the issue. I’ve made numerous attempts now to contact TinyCo about this and other issues even before the crashes (like how the sound is dropping out of my game after a minute or so of start-up) and I’ve received no acknowledgement from them. I noticed during the last week or so of the Christmas event, pressing the “Contact Us” button stopped automatically opening my mail AP to send them an email and instead presented a help form asking for email, subject and a description of the problem. The first few times filling it out brought up an error message saying something about input, reloading before I could read the message. I refilled the form and attempted to send it again on subsequent times: what’s written in the spaces disappears and no error message comes up, but there’s no confirmation the complaint got sent and no response to them sent back to me. Again, this has been going on since the later part of the North Pole event. I’ve tried directly emailing both help@tinyco.com and support@tinyco.mail.helpshift.com after the NP event and a handful of times just today upon the unlockable character issue and have still not had any acknowledgement my messages have even been received (unlike previous times when I received acknowledgement within hours of sending issues). I have no idea how to address these issues if they’re not even receiving my messages. Anything else I can do to try to contact them?

Sounds like you have a lot of issues going on. Have you tried the basic crash troubleshooting to see if it helps?
Firefox? So through a PC and Facebook option?

Try playing on Chrome. I had a lot of issues in Firefox too, and I got a banner in the game suggesting I should try playing on Chrome. Though I prefer FF, I don’t have any problems now that I’ve changed browsers for the game. Give it a try. 🙂

Looks like something finally worked as I have finally managed to get back into my game. I had the Don issue and he is now there wandering the town so hopefully that means it’s all fixed.

I guess I’m one of the “lucky” ones… GUDG keeps crashing if I click on the bouncing lock to enable him. Still have Death’s Mom and Testicle Cop (don’t remember his name) to collect items for to unlock them. Crossing my fingers.
Don never unlocked for me… did I miss something? Is he only after the other 3 are unlocked?

I just turned my game on yesterday and a task had completed and all 3 characters were unlocked for free but now only greased up deaf guy is dropping for don but I’m happy I got these three because nothing was dropping for them

I noticed that the cost of clams to speed up an action has tripled. It is now 6 clams per hour instead of the previous 2 clams per hour. Do you know if this a glitch or just the new inflation rate?

It depends on the Task and it’s payout, the Characters involved, etc. What Task/Character is it for?

It was the same rate for detective scrotes, GUDG and deaths mom. I only speed up tasks that have drops so I can only comment on the change in rates for that.

I have not gotten one character out of three from the event. Yet, the one character I can unlock right now, crashes the game on all platforms I have, iOS, Facebook, and Android. So this sucks royally. The past couple events have been degrading in quality exponentially and I’m starting to lose interest in it. Unforgivable.

Thank you for staying on TinyCo about Don’s three-day timer (and all aspects of this and every event) and always looking out for the interests of the players. I am not sure any of us could get past the introductory page of this game without your incredible selflessness, patience and perseverance.
