Special thanks to Ares for help with this post!
Hello there Demigods!
It is that time again for another new Character Profile! Week 3 of Greek Life brings 3 new Characters to the table.
With a New Event comes Timed New Characters/Costumes, like Neptune.
Let’s take a look at what Neptune can do in our silly lil games.
Remember, timed items are completely optional. It is your choice to try for them, or you can opt to skip them if you would like. They ARE difficult and many times I view them as a “Premium” item as you may have to spend Clams to get them or pass on other items.
Neptune is a Character added during Week 3 of Greek Life 2016. As with many characters in the game in order to get him you have to collect lots of stuff!
TIMER WARNING!!!For Neptune, the STUFF you had to earn for him revolved around the University Store. The prizes in the Store were available to be unlcoked in any order and once you opened the Store this started Neptune’s 5 day timer. If you tapped on him in there you could see what was required to unlock him: 5,000 Ambrosia, 14 Golden Apples, 8 Golden Crowns (By Clearing Reverse Merman OR using Xena to Slay the Patriarchy) and 11 Golden Fleece.
Once you got enough STUFF, then you can unlock Neptune! He will be first put into your inventory, and you will need to tap on him there to bring him into your game and unlock him!
He does come with a questline, Sea No Evil, more on that in another post.
Neptune does come with a complete set of Tasks! Tasks that help earn Ambrosia & Rush Points. His 4hr Task will help to earn Seafoam Spells for Seaform Offerings. His 8hr Task will help to earn Styx Coins for Greek Life Leaderboards.
Let’s take a look at some of Neptune’s Tasks:
**Note: Within an Event, tasks may change and vary as the Phases come and go. So some of these tasks will be temporary. Others may be one time use. Some will stick around even after the Event. We won’t know until the Event Ends.
IS HE VOICED?
He is currently not voiced.
And there you have it, the complete breakdown for Neptune.
Did you take the option and take a chance at one of the Timed Characters? Who have you unlocked so far? If you haven’t unlocked someone, how close are you? If so, have a favorite Task? Let us know!
~Ares

I haven’t seen Neptune for 4 days now! Missed completing week 3 challenge and can’t work on Billy Finn character! Maybe I should try chumming the waters to see if he might grace me with an appearance!!

ALERT!! Shhhhh! Don’t tell the programmers but there is a glitch in the timer for Neptune. I was annoyed about being only a few hundred bottles away from unlocking him and only a few hours on the timer when I noticed the timer kept resetting to the time I entered the store. As long as I stayed active in the game it kept going back. I’ve been at 20m 36s for the last 3 hours or so.
If you need a few more pieces to get Neptune… STAY IN THE GAME… do not close the game!

Ugghh. I have 4 hours left and still short about 600 bottles and 1 wreath. I think I will get the wreath clearing a few Mermen but annoyed that it will be so close. The clam conversion rate is reee-donk-u-lous! Still want 2200 clams to finish him.
Any advice on getting the missing bottles? Have everyone running bottle friendly tasks but still think I’ll be short.

This is hinted at throughout the phase 3 quest chain which is actually quite amusing. In other words, it’s intended.

Whoops this was supposed to be a reply to dlh1965. Doh.

I didn’t get to phase 3 until Monday morning but Neptune was already showing 4 days left to unlock instead of 7.

Probably 4 days 23 hours, from when you first went into the store. They put him on a 5-day timer instead of a 7-day one like Zeus and Hades were.

Yeah, Unfortunately he was only on a 5 day timer instead of 7. I did note that in the profile for him above. He’s almost required seeing as how you get very few seafoam scrolls to begin with. -Ares

This is going to sound really nitpicky… so I apologize in advance. This event is called “Greek Life”… but Neptune is actually Roman. Poseidon is the Greek equivalent.

In the dialogue they actually say he’s part of an exchange programme.

Agreed, but one of the character conversations recognizes this and refers to him as being part of an exchange program. (Personally, I wonder if they added that bit after “Neptune” had already been programmed and wanted to acknowledge the error with the least possible work.)

If you follow the quests and actually READ them, this issue is addressed.

I had the same thought…but they actually address that in the game, saying it’s a “god exchange program” (and they got rid of Demeter for him).
It’s likely because Neptune appeared in the show.

There must be another appearance by Neptune that looks like the guy depicted in this event, there is something so familiar about him. The animation of Peter in the clip looks like an early episode, so maybe it was a much later one with better drawing.
I managed to get Neptune without clams by ignoring everything else except collecting for him, just buying the one item that dropped sea foam from the page and maximizing ambrosia drops from every character. So I’m still in phase 3 with no end in sight, scads of rare fish to go before Billy is unlocked, and half the main questline to go, too. No regrets, I think Neptune is a hoot. I didn’t bother with Hades because I don’t like how he looks so he wasn’t worth the work. But two gods for free (Zeus and Neptune) is a pretty good haul for the event.

The game addresses this in the dialogue and one of the gods actually says Neptune isn’t Greek, but is a part of their “god exchange program” lol.
