WHAT THE DEUCE… Need more options to get in game currency. Maybe I can cut off my own “claws” and use them? Lol

With four (?) Days left to go on this event, I have been stuck on Saving Saur’s part 9, all because my Stupid Stego ™ won’t level up to level 4!
I’ve been training him non stop for the past day and a half and every single time it’s Green Amber! I don’t need it! I want him to get to 4! I’m being held back on my advance in this dumb plot because of this! WTD?! If he’d just level up could finally get to Phase 4 and have some inking if hope of get a couple of the buildings; maybe even the Petra, and Maybe even Ceasers!
Uhg! Just so angry! I hate the only way he levels up is in the pen!

Dino Rage- I know that frustration!!! Please see my post from June 27 further down this thread- this technique WILL HELP YOU!! I used it each time I wanted either Amber or XP. It might take a few times but it will get you what you want. This is not my discovery, others have reported success with this for this as well as past events- anytime Tinyco has given us the option to accept the prize by tapping it has worked. Good luck!

So sad for this event play every day and nothing. By far why not make this event longer. At least in tapped out you have a chance to earn prizes with time here they just want you to drop more money fo even get through. What a shame this make me no longer want to play this. The magic is gone

WTD!
I log in the other day to find “Dino-Tastic Rewards” pop-up… then an error message stating “Attempting to add points to a locked character bronto”. Clicked OK and game restarted with same series of dialogs. Clicked OK second time and back in with no rewards.
Bronto now hatched but still nothing. Messaged TinyCo but no word yet.
Feeling Peeved.

Did you ever get the rewards? My daughter and I both got the same message. We didn’t have the Brontosaurus hatched yet and after it was we never got the message again. Feel bad to miss out on the 250 claws!

Never got them. Got message from TinyCo that they are aware of issue and to please bear with them while fixing the issue. Never got fixed. I complained again and they just sent me 100 clams.
BTW… Just started phase three last night and only a couple hours left now in event. Declaring this event a bust.

Bunny said in an earlier post that a dinosaur type event was part of the beta testing over 2 years ago. That’s scary to think they have been thinking about this event for that long and this is the way it tuned out!!!
I’ve been playing this game since the mobster event and this is easily the worst event. The amount of claws needed is preposterous. The amount needed of the different colored ambers is ridiculous. The process of buying a blueprint to get a building that doesn’t drop claws is just plain stupid.
Basically, all I do all day is process DNA – mostly for claws. Does Tiny Co actually run the numbers regarding time to process red dna versus the amount needed? I ask because the amount of red needed (2 hour) for the tasks in phase 2 is just so dumb. When you need 7 reds (14 hours to process) for each dumb blueprint AND each dumb dinosaur – I don’t think Tiny Co thinks that only 2 regular characters drop the red. They might look at the raw numbers but not realistic numbers.
Now on phase 3, to get the next dinosaur hatched you need to have the 2 previous dinos constantly attacking the ones roaming the city. That means I can’t train the dinosaurs to get XP or stone hammers for Lois.
I love this game and I usually will give Tiny Co. the benefit of the doubt, but this whole event from top to bottom is one gigantic stinky deuce.

Wow, it has only been 1 week and I find myself back in here…
Seriously though, I am sitting the rest of this one out. The possibilities for earning Event Currency are still in the toilet, and now that I see that the new Green Amber will be even harder to come by – and the only function I can see is for unlocking buildings that drop items for Brian’s new skin.
Let’s see if I get this right – Perform Task 1 to maybe get Item A (food) to enable Task 2 (training) to possibly get Item B (Green Amber) to slowly craft Item C (Stegosaurus DNA) to research Item D (buildings) that will hopefully drop Item E (Wool/Pins) to help create Item F (Saber-Toothed Brian Skin)! I feel like a circus animal made to jump through hoops for someone else’s entertainment…
But the worst part is that after going through all of those steps multiple times, Brian’s skin will probably not have any tasks to drop Dino Claws (very much like Cavewoman Lois proved to be not worth the time invested) and be completely worthless towards the event. So why bother?
Instead of pulling my hair out trying to please the TC Overlords (and their flaming hoops), I am going on vacation – far away from Quahog.

This is by far the worst event that I’ve witnessed in the year I’ve been playing this game. So I assume I’m still going to have all the unfinished missions that I’m giving up on listed in my current quests for the next six months after the event is over as my unattainable STAR TREK ones just disappeared. That’s ok, will be a constant reminder of why I will never pay to play a mobile game.

As an addict since the game’s launch, I can state that this event is the first one where I feel that I’m so far behind that it’s completely hopeless to try and progress any further. I had grown accustomed to starting out well and then falling behind by Phase 2 to being a day or two behind. But I completed Phase 1 halfway into Phase 2 and with Phase 3 launching today, I’m definitely an entire week behind. And just because of event currency (claws) instead of epic drops? This is a new sensation of futility,.
Then on top of that, I accidentally spent 400 clams on a building from the Graveyard District. Which brings me to a serious WTD: Why don’t buildings reduce in price as their usefulness drops? What’s the point of a 400 clam building that drops items for characters I unlocked almost 2 years ago? Once you are finished with the items/event, the value of that building should be automatically reduced by 50-75% to more accurately reflect its “value.”

I spent money on getting amber mines and Chris costume, still took almost 11 days to get Peter skin, now I do not even see a chance to get Pteradactyl Park Ride. So how can I can complete that task? More than frustrating, but done with this event. I’ll get what I can and not worry about the rest.

since the claws are pretty well covered I’ll go with Tan Lines. I have all 3 green bucks floors full plus the first blue buck floor and about half of the second full. Since the dino event started the full blue floor hasn’t paid off its 2 blue bucks a single time.

My WTD is not about the dino quest, but the fact that the game is still not working at all for me. Has anyone heard anything at all about the game and whether or not any fix has been found or is even being worked on still? I don’t have it connected to facebook so I can’t delete it. I really need help because it’s been since the 24th and I’m missing a ton.

I finally fixed mine by logging in with an iphone. I normally play with android devices. For some reason using an iPhone once fixed it. Now I’m like 2 weeks behind.

I feel like I’m getting nowhere! I don’t have Peter or the raptor yet. All the tasks take forever. They’re getting really off track here forcing you to either miss out on getting most things or forking over cash for clams.

Just did the math on where I am vs. what I need, and I need at least 60 regular amber for all the claws, so the earliest I will see the third week is sometime on the weekend, but likely later. W. T. D.

I’m going to echo what many of us feel. WTD with claw drops? Seriously TinyCo why no claw drops with the many buildings for the event? Seems like a cash grab forcing people to go to clams. I’d rather pay a flat fee for this game and have better odds of getting drops or being able to make it through each week of an event than get locked out as a fremium game. The week to week bottleneck and push for clam items that don’t do much at the time or items that don’t add to town after event is done is FRUSTRATING to say the least.

I haven’t posted in awhile and haven’t played the game in longer than that but am enjoying some vacation time and stopped by the site mostly to see how Bunny’s health was.
It’s nice to see TinyCo still hasn’t figured out how to plan out an event — there is always something that is in incredibly short supply and causing people NOT to move along and enjoy the game for what it has to offer. Right after the Christmas event banning debacle, I stopped caring whether I completed events and got everything because it appeared that TinyCo couldn’t be bothered either. So I drifted further and further from the game to where I don’t even launch it any more. Perhaps if I find out a new district has launched I will pick it up again.
I am enjoying the game involving the Mouse and playing that religiously. It isn’t as cleverly written, but it is so much less stressful — and playable and able to be finished. The perfect time-waster that you can play on your schedule and not the game makers. Happy Fourth to all!

I didn’t have a problem with the leashes, lucky I guess. In fact it keeps spitting out leashes almost every time I train even though I already have the 15.. Claws however has been a headache… and there is not much to do in this event… I check in for 2 minutes every 4-6 hours and thats about it.
Why do they think it makes sense to keep giving us buildings and never give any new land? I’m so tired of working hard to get buildings that I know will just end up in storage. My favorite part about tapped out is designing my town, but in this game, its worthless to try and design anything because there is no space. I like some aspects of this game but have stopped buying clams because they never address any of the complains to make the game better. I have been reading everyone complaining about the same things for 2 years now, and they have made no effort to listen or change anything.

Same as everyone else. Claws, claws, claws. I have the raptor but I’m still trying to get the last 100 claws for Peter. Not even started on Lois or the Brontosaurus. And now the 2nd weekly challenge popped up and wants me to place the Pterodactyl theme park ride…which I can’t find in the store or among the plans to even research?!?!?! WTD???

It’s in the Research blueprints as “Pter-ing up the Skies”. I can confirm I took a chance and built that one to have it satisfy the task in weekly challenge.

WTD, why aren’t event buildings dropping event currency? Even clam buildings don’t drop claws (except for the one specifically designed for claws). There is zero incentive to buy the amber producing buildings because of this, simply put as long as you hustle, it doesn’t take too long to start getting a surplus of amber built up, because you can’t get them out of the queue fast enough with out spending evem more clams. I do not like this new direction they are headed in.

New what the deuce is related to my response from tiny Co customer service on my original what the deuce.. Raptor leashes…. I trained my raptor all the way to level 5 before getting my first set of 5 leashes and when I messaged in game about it, I did finally get a response today (now on level 8 raptor and still only have 10/15 needed raptor leashes and everything else for DT Peter done) so the response from TC states that even when the training screen shows all the lights up to the top and the word is “high” for chance of leashes on the display on the screen prior to training, the actual chance of your getting raptor leashes on any one single training session is actually RARE… WHAT THE DEUCE?!? So why not make the visual match the actual chances instead of stating high chance and showing a high chance with a lighted up to the top visual indicator? This would stop a lot of upset/unhappy expectations and stop a lot of unhappy players. When visual odds show as “high” and we repeatedly get nothing, we get upset!

I have a wtd. May I post it? I feel like I got tricked into buying the Fossil Finder Site. 30 claw payout, check. 8 hour build time, uncheck(it cost clams so shouldn’t it be instant?) In tiny tiny letters it says 18H!? I know I know I should have read it but this has to be the 1st clam building I have ever bought that takes time to build and not have the same recast time. Wtd just w t d.

out of 9 open task 5 need dino peter. but i cant get him bc tinyco put a crazy amount of dino claws and the drops of the leashes are terrible. i am currently stuck as a result….. they get better then they drop the ball…. why can i only get tiny amounts of claws every couple of hours or so…

Here’s a suggestion many have found works for situations where you have to tap or ” accept” the prize where multiple drops are possible.. When you tap your check mark on the pen to see what dropped – say in this case either the leashes or raptor xp, DON’T then tap to accept unless it is the drop you want… Instead, immediately force close your game and restart it. Then again tap to see what dropped from the pen- repeat until you get the leashes, or whatever you’re hoping to collect. I had to do this about 5, 11, and then 4 times to get the leashes in consecutive cycles. Then, after I had already collected the 15 leashes, the next time it actually dropped leashes the first time- so I had to again close to get the XP for the raptor… Unbelievable. Give it a try? Many have used this with success. Should work for any of these kind of situations- at least so far! Now if there were a trick for earning the claws?!!!

I’m stuck with the same thing.. it’s stupid.. even caveman Lois needs HALF the claw amount.. tiny Co needs to do something about it. I see so very many complaints about this, it’s ridiculous. I’m at a total stand still. 😠😨😧

Why does Peter even have a task for the brontosaurus food? We only have 3 who can get it and one of them is Peter who is needed to train the raptor and also has about 314 tasks to be done.

I haven’t even seen any options yet for Brontosaurus food. Is that something I need to have Dino Tamer Peter for? I do have the Brontosaurus unlocked, but am still a painful 150 claws from DTP.

Finally got enough claws (using the bonus claws from buying clams, and then buying the last 20 claws I needed) to get Dino Tamer Peter. Finish Part 4 of the main questline from week 2, and then WTD! Part 5 requires you to research the dino egg incubator – 115 claws AND build the brontosaurus training pen – 125 claws. So after getting 780 total claws for Part 4, part 5 requires ANOTHER 240 claws. Of course, also need to refine 8 red amber, so in between refining tons of regular amber to get enough claws, then you get to spend ANOTHER 16 hours refining red amber.
C’mon TinyCo, read these complaints and give us at least a FEW claw earning tasks for main characters.

11 days into the event and I still don’t have enough claws to unlock the raptor, so I can’t move on.. it’s very discouraging and not much fun.

My only WTD this event so far is the continued need to buy buildings just to advance the main questline. It’s not even as if they drop claws.

Claws, claws, claws, I can’t get enough claws! I play every four hours to send my characters on Amber runs so that I can clear dinosaurs- it seems to be the best way at the moment. But even that being done I’m just now unlocking Dino Tamer Peter today! Well, soon as I refine two last ambers…. So frustrating! I haven’t felt that any of the things they’ve offered so far are worth me spending clams on cause those are my hard earned saved up free clams, so I’m stingy lol how am I so damn far behind when I play every four hours? I don’t even sleep! Because I’m Prego so I’m up all night! what’s going wrong here? Oh and what in the hell is up with me still getting leashes instead of experience points for training my raptor when those have been cleared last week??? End rant/ 😘

WTD? I still need 450 claws just to get the 780 required for the Dino Peter costume but I can’t proceed on several quest because they require the Dino Peter costume. So I can’t complete quests to get claws cause I don’t have the costume I need to do those quests but it’s hard to get said costume cause claws are precious.
Oh, well I guess it’s ok. Truth be known the last 3 events by the time I activate phase 2 the event is like 3 or 4 days from ending. It’s ok though as I am working on Tan Lines and getitng the monkey. Only need 10 more keys total and will have all floors unlocked.

TinyCo have just brought in a new community leader, Kate, or TinyKate, so let’s give her a chance to look at players concerns and see if she can improve the customer service side and of course our interaction with the game.
My WTD is easy, the Leave vote in the UK. The economic unknown we are facing in the coming years is scary, but what’s even scarier is the racism and intolerance that is being allowed to run rife in the country, encouraged by certain poisonous political parties. I fear for the future if this is not challenged.

This thing with not getting Dino leashes is getting beyond sad. Got 2 drops (10 leashes) pretty quickly, but now after five training sessions in a row, no leashes. It almost seems like there is a bug in the game that prevents it from paying out any leashes after a certain point.

Claws..! Nothing pays out in Claws..! But we need Claws for everything..!!! And not like 20 Claws.. Like 200.. For buildings that hold no purpose. I’ve done everything, I’ve got maybe 60 Claws toward Peter.. And now Lois has been introduced..! How to accumulate like 1000+ Claws to get them both with also keeping up with Blueprints and Hatching Eggs is a complete mystery. I’m going to continue to pay… But the fun has been sucked out..! And I love Dinosaurs… WTD

Am I the only one that still can’t open the game? It has been crashing on the loading screen for 4 days. I have tried sending feedback to TinyCo, and I have tried directly e-mailing them, but I haven’t gotten a response. I have done everything short of deleting the game, because I don’t want to lose a year’s worth of progress. Please help….

Is your game connected to fb? If so you can uninstall, reinstall, play the tutorial and log back into fb to retrieve your game.

I’m right there with you. I’ve sent in a few emails with no response aside from the generic automated one. I’m just fed up at this point. I’ve spent a lot of time and effort on this game, not to mention MONEY for clams, which you need for just about everything. If this doesn’t get fixed soon I’m just deleting it. Just wish get my money back from this bull crap.

My What the Deuce is about the myriad of jobs Joe has, but it seems to be a joe skin I do not have? Paleo Joe? Is he coming later and just inadvertently in the missions for drops? There is one that has Joe listed twice! And yet there are other basic characters still sitting on the sidelines. WTD is with Dino Cris?!?! “Always drops 15 claws” they said! Well, only at the end of one 6 hour job, but regular Chris has a 4 hour chore for Amber that with one hour processing time will get you those same 15 claws in an hour less.

Yeah I know all the WTD here are actually problems with the game and awful bottle necks they AWLAYS do with the stupid Peter costumes, and I am truly sorry for all your problems, but my WTD is about my game crashing on the load screen for the past 3DAYS!?! I have lost 3 full days of progress now. Lost the first timed challenge, which I was going to get no problem!?! But since the 2nd week went live on Thursday I CANT GET IN MY GAME?!!! AHHHHHHH!!!!!!! 😭😭😭😭😭😭 I’ve updated all I can, restarted my device and still nothing.
I have emailed TinyCo support and still no response!? WTD, I JUST WANT TO PLAY MY GAME! AGHHH!!😭

Exactly. I’m having the same wtd. I was going to get the timed quest as well before the game shut down on me. I’ve sent a few emails and nothing….it’s getting old fast. And I’ve been trying to be patient but it’s wearing thin. I wish they’d at least send a real response back to the emails.

Wtd..So far I have managed to get the raptor. Still have the Brontosaurus, DT Peter and Caveman Lois. Have taken out 3 of the Skullasaurus and have yet to get a single leaf drop..need 6 “uncommon?” I know there is always something slowing progress in these events, but where is all the event currency with this one? Very limited sources for claws and nothing from this event helps. Buildings pay coins, tasks pay coins, mission chains pay out coins for the most part. Add in the blueprints needed for required drops and mission progress and I need thousands of claws a week and only get them what 11-15 at a time? Ugh! Other than that I am liking the look of this event…dinos!

My “What The Deuce” is having a terrible time with the flu (head cold / fever) for the past few days. It has made me extremely drowsy and I have been sleeping for many hours every day. It is winter here in Australia as well. Trying to play the game at the same time is making it a little harder, I love Jurassic Park though so I didn’t want to miss this event.
At least I had a few good days last week. I spent them in the middle of Sydney looking at many light displays which were put on things throughout the city (such as the Opera House and the Sydney Harbour Bridge) for an event known as “Vivid”. This was the first time I had been. I met Shannen Doherty (who was also in Sydney at the time) as well and talked to her for a bit, she was over here for a convention. She was actually a very nice person to talk to. 😄

It is absolutely insane this weeks tasks require so much red DNA it will take over 60 hours to complete. That doesn’t include the time to actually obtain. With the deplorable payout of Dino claws and the amount needed, getting to week 3 on time will be arduous, if not impossible. Futility does not equal fun!

Am I missing something about how to get Dino claws? At the rate I’m going, I’ll be lucky to get Dino Tamer Peter; forget about Lois. Right now there I have 4-5 open quests waiting on getting Dino Tamer Peter that I may never get. Even having a raptor and completing the quests I can hasn’t improved anything. Seems like no matter what, the most you get is 5 claws, and that after 5 or more hours of work. WTD Tinyco?

Bottlenecks! I hate bottlenecks in the game! Everything held up because of the Stupid Dinosaur Tamer Peter costume!!
I have 5 quests stuck because they all require Peter’s latest outfit: the main questline “Playing with Dino Might Pt 4”, “Rides of their lives Pt 1”, “Walk the Dinosaur”, “Triassic Yard Pt 5” and “Raptor Strategy Pt 2”
What an utter shambles! Who designs these things?

Why don’t any of the event buildings drop event currency? Even the one located in the event field only drops coins – what is the point in “researching” and spending Dino Claws on them if there is no payout?
Why make the buildings with no strategic value (with no special item drops) required by the main questline? It is a waste of materials we already don’t have enough of, so it is no wonder that a lot of folks are behind.
Why do the voices in my head sound so quiet – they know I cannot hear so well, are they hiding something from me?
Why are you still reading this when there is so much more to do? Get back to work!

It’s because there is too much freedom in the world. People go unchecked too long they feel like they have the right to say w/e they want without consequences. Adding an invisible barrier that “protects” them from any real retaliation. Everyone is probably thinking that freedom is always a good thing, but I submit that has its downsides. I like my freedom but I also don’t speak Ill of others and not rude. Alooking, I don’t get offended easily so what do I really know.

What the deuce, this event is so slow going for the freemium, i finally just trained for the second time. I do like that im not pressured to get to the next phase or level becouse there is none, just work at you’re own pace. If they can do every event like this would be great. Just wish there were more characters being used instead of the usuals with more than one task, could use claws that is really slow going.

What the deuce… Have sent Peter to train my raptor repeatedly for 4 straight days now and not a single solitary raptor leash for Dino Tamer Peter costume. I have everything else except the claws of course because those are what the deuce part 2…. Claws, claws…. Where on earth are all the dinosaur claws? I’ve accomplished every single quest line task, I’ve gotten all blueprints and buildings, I’ve gotten all the amber I can stand and done dinosaur after dinosaur, even completed the weekly challenge by the skin of my teeth and still only have 125 Dino claws towards Dino Tamer Peter. At this rate I’ll never see week 2 content!

I had the raptor leash problem as well, just like Dawnie. Luckily it seems the old method of closing the app before clicking the pop up to accept non leash rewards and then reloading still works. I was able to get leash drops on the next 3 cycles using that method. It is a pity there isn’t a real counter to lack of claws though, 15 per egg and a miserly 3 per completed quest is silly when you need thousands of the things. At least they let you keep more than 8 crafted items in this event.

Thanks for that reminder of the force close before accepting, I’d forgotten that trick- it took me maybe a dozen tries but finally got the leashes to show up! I encourage anyone who is still stuck here to give it a try.
