The Making Of A Monster Hunter Week 1 Overview

It’s time to get your scary face on as the Halloween event is here. And it  looks like we might need to get do some monster hunting if we want to make it the Making Of A Monster Hunter event.

ADDICTS ANNOUNCEMENTS & INFORMATION

***Post is updated and complete with this week’s information***

CURRENT APP VERSION

Version 1.77.2

NOTICEABLE CHANGES

Some of the A Look In The Rear event buildings have been added to your inventory. I only see the food places, no sign of the various Appliance stores in my game.

GLITCHES & ISSUES

A major glitch that saw some locked out and others suffering constant crashes saw this events start delayed. TinyCo pushed a fix, and awarded us all 5 Clams.

However it would appear the issue is continuing for some, I’ve reported this to TinyCo and you’ll find a post on it HERE.

Also seeing a couple reports of players unable to attack the Vampiress after purchasing Lily, again I’m not having this issue but I’ve reported it.

App Version 1.77.2 is out NOW!!!

If you are having any other issues let me know in the comments.

32 Cherrywood Bats = 3 Monster Masks
34 Cherrywood Bats = 3 Monster Masks
32 Cherrywood Bats = 3 Monster Masks
36 Cherrywood Bats = 3 Monster Masks
40 Cherrywood Bats = 3 Monster Masks
40 Cherrywood Bats = 3 Monster Masks
40 Cherrywood Bats = 3 Monster Masks
42 Cherrywood Bats = 3 Monster Masks
46 Cherrywood Bats = 3 Monster Masks

Vampire bats

These are the little baddies this week of the event and are quite simple to deal with, it’s just more of the tap, aim and fire we’ve seen in previous events. Before you can clear them you’ll need to get some Nets, you’ll get them here:

Nets (Common) –  Get from Mort Look Out For Creatures, Lily Munster Round Up Monsters, Herbert Catch Critters, Bonnie Hunt Her Prey

Once you have a Net you will find Vampire Bats flying around your sidewalks.

Simply tap one of them to bring up the targeting screen.

Then move the net until the green target circle is on a Vampire Bat, you’ll know it’s in target as it will turn purple, then simply hit the check mark to clear the Vampire Bats. Now it may look like you’ve targeted 3, but it only counts as 1 hit as they fly around in clusters of 3.

I am seeing up to a maximum of 4 in my game.

The event rewards for clearing Vampire Bats are as follows:

Per Vampire Bat Cleared
2 Cherrywood Bats (Always)
1 Fangs (Always)

VampireSS

During the Side Questline, Art Of Monster Hunting, you will trigger the Vampiress in your Quahog. You will have to wait for her to appear before you can battle her and have one of this weeks event characters available, unless you buy Lily Munster. So unless you bought her you’re not going to be going into battle with her for a while. So concentrate on unlocking Count Crotchula Peter and/or Grandpa Munster for now. And don’t panic, you’ll get there.

Battling Vampiress is similar to the battles we’ve done in other events, most recently seen in Peter And The Masters of The Universe, Guys In Black and Kung Pow Quahog. Basically you will select a Character to battle, and as usual you will probably lose health and probably need to battle more than once to defeat the Vampiress. Then when defeated, you will earn Materials for the Event.

You will find the Vampiress wandering your sidewalks when she appears.

Tapping on her will bring you up the Defeat The Vampiress screen, which gives you all the battle information.

I’ve simplified the information from the Attack screen below.

Opponent Stats – Vampiress:
8 Health Points, 4 Damage Hit, Undisclosed chance of knockout

Characters You can Use Stats  (you can select only select 1):

Count Crotchula Peter  ~ 8 Health Points, 4 Damage Hit, 20% Chance knockout, Heal time 7hrs
Grandpa Munster ~ 12 Health Points, 4 Damage Hit, 20% Chance knockout, Heal time 7hrs
Lily Munster ~ 8 Health Points, 4 Damage Hit, 50% Chance knockout, Heal time 7hrs

The rewards you get will depend on whether you only damage her, this is counted as a defeat, or if you fully kill her, this is a success. Remember any damage you do to her will stay until you attack her again.

DEFEAT/ROUND Payout:
5 Silver Bullets

SUCCESS Payout:
1 Cherry Wood (Always)
24 Cherrywood Bats (Always)
2 Medallions (Always)
10 Silver Bullets (Always)

Cost To Battle:

1 Monster Manual (Uncommon) –  Get from Quagmire, Joe Study The Enemy, Count Crotchula Peter Do Some Research, Sleeping Gnome

BATTLE EXAMPLE

Battle Example: I tested this out using Lily Munster, but Count Crotchula Peter the Barbarian has the same stats apart from a lower knockout chance, so this applies to him also. The Vampiress and Lily Munster have the same Health Points  (8) and can do the same Damage Hit (4), so unless you get a lucky knockout blow you will need to attack the Vampiress twice to defeat her. Of course she also might get lucky and knock Lily Munster out. And of course then there’s the chance either of you could miss.

I attempted 2 Battles with Lily Munster and here’s my results…

Battle 1:

Lily Munster: Hit Vampiress -4
Vampiress: Hit Lily Munster -4

Battle Result: Defeat

Battle 2: (Note – Vampiress now  only has 4 Health as I hit her for -4 in the previous battle but of course so does Lily Munster)

Lily Munster: Hit Vampiress -4 (this takes Vampiress Health to 0 and she’s  defeated)
Vampiress: Hit Lily Munster -4

Battle Result: Success

Now you’ll see not only is the Vampiress is at 0 Health, but so are you and this means you need to heal before you can battle again. And Lily Munster takes 7 hours, this in my opinion is too long for a premium buy but I don’t make the rules. So you need to wait 7hrs unless you want to splash out clams to Revive your character. It costs 63 Clams to revive Lily Munster.

Now another point worth mentioning about your character’s Health healing  is it only starts to restore once it hits 0, so if you’ve 4/8 Health it will NOT go back up to 8/8 over time, it will only start to restore once you’re at 0/8.

Abraham lincoln

You will have to wait for him to appear before you can battle him and have one, preferably more, of this weeks event characters available. You really don’t want to be going into battle with him with only 1 character so concentrate on unlocking Count Crotchula Peter and/or Grandpa Munster for now.

Battling Abraham Lincoln is similar to defeating the Vampiress., he’s just tougher to defeat but dishes out better rewards, Monster Masks.

You will find him wandering your sidewalks when he appears.

Tapping on him will bring you up the Defeat Abraham Lincoln screen, which gives you all the battle information.

I’ve simplified the information from the Attack screen below.

Opponent Stats – Vampiress:
16 Health Points, 16 Damage Hit, Undisclosed chance of knockout

Characters You can Use Stats  (you can select up to 3 to fight home together):

Count Crotchula Peter  ~ 8 Health Points, 4 Damage Hit, 20% Chance knockout, Heal time 7hrs
Grandpa Munster ~ 12 Health Points, 4 Damage Hit, 20% Chance knockout, Heal time 7hrs
Lily Munster ~ 8 Health Points, 4 Damage Hit, 50% Chance knockout, Heal time 7hrs

The rewards you get will depend on whether you only damage him , this is counted as a defeat, or if you fully kill him, this is a success. Remember any damage you do to him will stay until you attack him again.

And if you send in more than one character to attack, which I recommend if possible, his damage will be split across them. So if you’ve 2 characters fighting him he will hit each for 8 damage instead of 16, unless he misses or does a knockout blow.

DEFEAT/ROUND Payout:
10 Silver Bullets

SUCCESS Payout:
6 Monster Masks (Always)

Cost To Battle:

2 Cherry Wood (Uncommon) –  Get from clearing Vampiress

BATTLE EXAMPLE

Battle Example: I tested this out using Lily Munster, but  as I say I recommend using more characters if you can, I just wanted to pull information for the site quickly.  Abraham Lincoln has much higher Health Points (16) than Lily Munster who has 8 and he can do a much stronger Damage Hit (16), so unless you get a lucky knockout blow you will need to attack Abraham Lincoln 4 times to defeat him using just Lily. And of course he’ll wipe you out each battle, so you’ll need wait to heal between attacks. So you can see why attacking him shouldn’t be your priority just now, concentrate on getting a character to attack the Vampiress, as you’ll be able defeat her easier and of course this will let you build up some Cherry Wood for when you can attack him.

I attempted 1 full kill with Lily Munster and as predicted it took me 4 attack battles to defeat him and spending a couple hundred clans to get through those as I needed keep healing Lily for not only these attacks but for attacks on Vampiress to get Cherry Wood. So unless your clam rich please just forget him for now.

Battle 1:

Lily Munster: Hit Abraham Lincoln -4
Abraham Lincoln: Hit Lily Munster -16

Battle Result: Defeat

Battle 2 & 3: These were a complete repeat of Battle 1. In that I reduced Abraham Lincoln’s health by 4 points each battle but he wiped me out both times.

Battle 4: (Note – Abraham Lincoln now  only has 4 Health as I’ve hit him for -4 in 3  previous battles)

Lily Munster: Hit Abraham Lincoln -4 (this takes Abraham Lincoln Health to 0 and he’s  defeated)
Abraham Lincoln: Hit Lily Munster -16

Battle Result: Success

Now you’ll see not only is Abraham Lincoln at 0 Health, but so are you again and this means you need to heal before you can battle again. And once again let me remind you Lily Munster takes 7 hours to heal or it costs 63 Clams to revive Lily Munster immediately.

Now another point worth mentioning again about your character’s Health healing  is it only starts to restore once it hits 0, so if you’ve 4/8 Health it will NOT go back up to 8/8 over time, it will only start to restore once you’re at 0/8.

There you have the overall basics to get you started through the first Week of the New Event. Where are you so far? Anything particular you like the most? Suggestions or tips to fellow players? Let us know.

Munster Mansion isnt coming up as an item to purchase with my masks, but I need it to complete my task and go onto the next phase. When I go into my Haunted Mansion, it shows I earned everything it has available. Am I missing something? I contacted help and support within the game and havent received a response yet.

  6. I don’t mean to be a downer but I was kind of hoping there would be some new game play since it was a Halloween event. I was hoping due to the glitches and the delay it was because there was some new game play element that was going to be introduced. Same old, same old.

      • Following up on the various Appliance store buildings not showing up in the inventory from the “A Look in the Rear” event, just like Alex Thomas noted, I too have found them in my inventory in the “All” section (all 5 buildings in question are nowhere to be found at all in the “A Look in the Rear” section though), as you can see here:

However, when I select one of the 5 appliance stores to be placed in my town, I am not at all able to place these anywhere as it is gives me a red colour under the building wherever I try and place (as opposed to the usual green colour under a building which signifies that it can be placed fine), as you can see here:

Is anyone else having this problem?

RT, could you notify Tinyco/JamCity regards this so that they may fix this problem as it’s a real pity the buildings are available but cannot be placed anywhere in the town?

        Thanks
