So far I’ve checked out over 100 characters from Tan Lines and all have the 8hr task GO FOR GOLD which drops 1 Medal. The only characters not showing at are those from the current event.
But remember the task isn’t at the top of the task list so you’ll need to scroll down in the characters profile to find it. I have asked support if it could be put to the top. But this is the task your looking for, even although it doesn’t show the Medal icon it does drop 1.

I’ve been doing the Go for the Gold tasks for a long time now and have never received any medals from it. Only getting medals from unlocking characters. I never see any medals drop when the task is completed, just a number 1. Which means absolutely nothing to me. Please help, thanks.

You don’t see the medals drop, but they add to your medal count in QHS screen, so check your medal total, not trophy, before and then after you collect.

I have been using the Go for the Gold tasks and have only received medals from unlocking other characters and never from the tasks. I’m gonna keep sending them and they keep dropping 1’s as opposed to actual medals. It doesn’t even show a medal next to the 1, like its $1 or something,

I think a really elegant solution would be to store characters in tan lines and then send them on the Go for Gold quest from inside there, especially if you could send them all at once and collect them all at once. This would keep them from interfering with the normal game and make it more manageable.

Most annoying will be the ever increasing quest list as the characters unlocked don’t have there equivalent buildings as such Dia De Los Muertos Conseula’s first quest can’t ever be compleated if like me you bought Conseula with medals and so you don’t have Conseula’s house.

Yeah I’m talking to support about this, I’ll update you as soon as I get an answer. There was supposed be a fix to have the buildings in the store but something gone wrong obviously.

Igh I don’t have 15+ minutes to spend doing these tasks. Why can’t there be a faster all in one way? Similar to how The Simpsons can send multiple characters on specific timed tasks at once.

There’s no visual drop but they should add to your total, check your total before and after collecting from tasks.

why won’t tier 3 unlock? I have already unlocked all of tier 1 and 2 am I doing something wrong I have 2000 medals to cash in

I’m getting my medals. They end up in my medal stash despite not seeing them drop after my characters finish their task.
They DO NEED to select a different location for them to gather their medals from. It really impedes the timed event because you spend 15 minutes getting medals and the timed event characters do not drop first. It’s really annoying having to hit the Griffin house 150 times to find the timed event characters.
Also, why can’t the go for the gold task be moved to the top? I realize the developers want you to have to ‘search’ for the task, but again, very annoying.

I agree, it’s a great concept to get old missed characters, but having to manually send 300 individual tasks is crazy. There should be a send all button, like the unemployment office in the Simpsons game. Also there should be a dedicated building to send them to, not the griffin house where curRent event tasks get buried in the deluge.

Yeah, this doesn’t seem thought out. If I take 200 or 300 characters out of Tan Lines, then after the 8 hour task is up, I’m going to have to go through each and every one individually to select their Go for the Gold task again.

I have had 50 characters going for gold, but have yet to receive a medal. Is it supposed to be random or something? If so, I have pretty poor odds

This is madness. I now have over 300 characters “going for the gold” at the Griffin house. I’m all for the concept of this feature, but why make Tan Lines completely obsolete and create a bunch more work?

Not to mention keeping event tasks separate. I just sent two characters on an 8 hour boondoggle rather than their event task as I plunged through the 85 I had pulled out of Tan Lines just immediately scrolling down to the 8 hr task and as I slid the task I’m realizing aww, man. They are supposed to be doing that other thing.

I do not believe that the situation requires such drastic measures…
Each Rank costs a total of 2100 Medals for all 4 characters (assuming you need all 4) and there are 122 Ranks – for a total of 256,400 Medals.
Now even if you sent a mere 200 characters just twice a day, it would take only 641 days to reach that amount – before you even reach Rank 100.
Plus, there is always at least 1 new character/skin to unlock per week during Events, which is an additional 1000 Medals per week – which means reaching the total amount will go by that much quicker.
Lastly, these numbers are assuming you have absolutely zero characters and would need to purchase each one (and I assume that if you already have 300 characters, that this is not the case). For example, I only need 125,400 Medals over the next 2 years to acquire all that I am missing – which will be a breeze…
Tan Lines has been obsolete for quite some time, and this changes nothing. The amounts required for this new feature are completely reasonable (given the timetables), and realistically doable for most players – even without emptying out Tan Lines to “Shining-level” proportions.
But if you want to make more work for yourself by sending 300 characters after Gold Medals every 8 hours, you will probably end up bored sick within 6 months and complaining about how there is nothing to do.
Spare yourself. Take your time, because we have got plenty of it…
