Quahog Halloween Walkthrough: Week 1, I Ain’t Afraid of No Ghost

Hello There Clammers!

Halloween has arrived in Quahog!  And Peter, in typical Peter fashion, has decided to tick off the dead.  In doing so Peter accidentally opens a dark portal in the Quahog cemetery and unleashes all manner of ghosts and goblins on the city…your job is to help round up these ghost, goblins and ghouls!

Of course TinyCo has armed you with a fun questline to help rid the dead of Quahog (and in some cases raise it)!  By following along with the questline you’ll learn the ins and outs of how to succeed at Halloween, and send the dead packing!

Of course you all know we’ll be here every step of the way to give you that little extra insight and support throughout the update!  So let’s get things started with our quick walkthrough for Week 1 of Halloween…and prove “I Ain’t Afraid of No Ghost”…only big dogs 😉

Halloween 2014: A Ghostbusting Good Time!

Hello There Clammers!

The time has come and the wait is over…Halloween is here!!!!!

More details as we go through them….but for now know that Peter kicks things off…and you’ll most likely get the popup saying reload for an awesome new event..

UPDATE BUNNY 730PM EST: For iOS and Android having crash issues, try again. iOS make sure you are on iOS 6 and completely updated. Android, make sure you download the newest update from the market and running on version 1.3.2.2 for the app. These should help with the iOS blue screen and the Android neighbor visits crashing. 

UPDATE BUNNY 215PM EST: Jailhouse Meg items should stop dropping now. A patch has been pushed from TinyCo. Please try force close/restart to clear this. 

As for the issue of the Spellbook/Portal sticking and not able to clear the task, they are working on it. 

We’re working on a spell to fix the crashing bug with the Spelbook. So far, yelling out “insectum reparo!” has not worked.

ANNNNNNNND They just pushed a patch for this. Try to force close and restart to put it in effect if you don’t see it. 

 

Update 11:55am EDT: Guys we’re working to get the info as fast as possible, but with everyone hitting the servers at once we’re getting the same connection dropped screens you are.  So we as that you be patient and give us just a bit of time to try and pull as much info as we can… 🙂

Also, there seems to be a little “hiccup” when Drunk Programmer Kevin flipped the switch (I guess it wasn’t sobered up enough)…and Android users will see different color tress but nothing else.  It’s coming, just be patient it should hit shortly.

So let’s break it all down shall we?  Remember…we’ll be updating THIS post as we go through everything, so keep checking back until you see the Updated and Complete in the title..

Play Store Update: Halloween Pre-Launch

Update 9 AM EDT: Update is also live on iOS now, so be sure to download it.  Any of our Kindle friends want to chime in to let us know if they have the new version too?

Also, some reports of crashing going on when installing the newest update.  This could be like Comic-Con where if you have an older device the game won’t run on it.  It’s a ton of content that requires a lot of memory and space to run…..so older devices that can’t support it will crash.

Hello There Clammers!

Much like with Comic-Con we’ve gotten ourselves a little pre-launch update for Halloween.  A new splash screen and icon but that’s it so far….

If this is like Comic-Con the “switch” should be flipped once #DrunkProgrammerKevin sobers up in the morning!  (for Comic-Con it was about 7:30am).  Once we see some new content we’ll get it up for you, but for now my suggestion is get some rest….you’ll want to be well rested for Ghostbusting in the morning! 🙂

Addicts Guidelines for Fun

Hello There Clammers!

Here at Family Guy Addicts our goal is to provide a resource to feed your Family Guy addiction for all things TQFS.  Bunny and I try our best everyday to provide you with the most recent and up-to-date info about TQFS, as well as countless tips and tricks for making your gaming experience better!  We do it because we love it…and we love having fun with all of you!

However, lately Bunny and I have noticed the general tone of the comments has changed.  Changed from fun to not so fun….

In case you haven’t already noticed, we like to keep the atmosphere here positive and the discussion open. We strive to have this place be an outlet where everyone can be respectful to one another. We know not everything is perfect. Nothing in the world ever will be. But as a community we can work together to make it the best it can possibly be.  Laughter is always welcome.

So with that in mind, and with the Halloween Event looming on the horizon, Bunny and I decided to sit down and write up the Guidelines that we follow on our blog and ask our AMAZING Community of readers to follow as well….

TinyCo’s been busy the last couple of days posting spoilers and hints about what’s to come for Halloween 2014….

First, they teased it on Twitter…and Bunny wrote a whole post about that and speculation for what’s to come.

Then we got a Pink Brian Sneak Peek….have you unlocked him yet?

Endless Summer Ended, Not Kool!

Update 11:00pm EDT: Looks like Kool-Aid Man is back in the game!  You now have 24hrs to finish collecting him.  This MORE than makes up for the time glitch many were experiencing.  Good Luck!

Update 2:40pm EDT: Per TinyCo: “There was a bug that caused him to end at local time, rather than PDT. We’re looking into bringing him back for 24 hours, so players can finish him.”

They’re working on it…for now if you’ve experienced this glitch and haven’t yet reported it…send in an in-game ticket so they know exactly who is impacted.

Oh and Kool-Aid Man is now Voiced!!!!

Busting in with a quick glitch report that MANY of you are reporting on…the Kool-Aid Man’s Quest is GONE!  Kool Aid Man Train 90's Style 4

According to many of you the ability to unlock Kool-Aid Man has disappeared from your game.

Not Kool.  Not Kool AT ALL!

So here’s the deal…Yes, Kool-Aid Man was supposed to end today (9/30).  BUT he was supposed to end at 3pm PDT, which is in (just under) 9hrs from now.  However, it seems there’s been a timer glitch in many games causing him to disappear at 3pm local time NOT PDT.  So if this is the case for you…report it to TinyCo.  (info on contacting them here)

Bunny and I have also reported this to TinyCo (we reported this last night…as soon as our New Zealand  friends started reporting the quest ending), so as soon as we hear something back on it we’ll let you know.  In the meantime, it’s important that if you’re experiencing this glitch to report it to TinyCo as well.  They need to see the reports coming from multiple places and not just us.  So make sure you send in the support ticket….

Character Overview: Tom Tucker

Hello There Clammers!

With the introduction of Family Guy: The Quest For Stuff there’s a whole cast of characters to unlock in your rebuild effort of Quahog!  These overview posts are designed to give you a quick breakdown of the characters, how you unlock them & their tasks so you can play FGG more efficiently!

Of course there will be those players who don’t want to know the details of unlocking the characters so for that reason we’ll post all of the details below the fold.  So if you don’t like to know what’s going on before you play don’t click read more…CAUTION SPOILERS AHEAD

Now that District 9 is FINALLY unlocked it’s time to take a look at the characters of the Downtown District.  Tom Tucker is the first character you’ll unlock in the Downtown District.  It’ll take a bit of hard work collecting all the STUFF you’ll need to unlock him, but there’s no rush to get him.  He’s not required to move forward in the questline and unlock the other characters in the District.  So take your time with him and have some fun 🙂

Quest for Stuff Quick Walkthroughs: District 9 Part 3…Mayor West

Hello there Clammers!

We last left off our walkthrough Stewie and Brian had just freed Vinny…in hopes he could lead them to their missing Plutonium!  Of course Vinny just swindled them out of a bunch of stuff…oh and he got  a new house built out of the deal!  Only to tell them Mayor West had the Plutonium.  So we restart our quest with Mayor West…and finding out what HE knows about the Plutonium…

This will be a little different than past District walkthroughs, since it will be released in stages.  So, we’ve covered part 1 here and part 2 here,  now we’ll pick things up with part 3, where we’ll unlock Mayor West…and a whole lotta Taffy!

Unlocking characters and items in the Downtown District will take a lot of patience, as the list of “Stuff” required to unlock is longer and the quantities of each are greater.  Take your time, try not to get frustrated when the items don’t appear.  Try a different task to unlock the item, or try working on a different item.

So let’s pick our walkthrough back up with Brian and Stewie and the hunt for the missing plutonium…

Season Premiere Open Thread

Hello There Clammers!

Tonight is the Season Premiere of Family Guy!!  And what a special season premiere it is…as The Griffins travel to….SPRINGFIELD!!!  We’ve been waiting months for this much anticipated crossover event, and it’s finally here!

We figured a special Open Thread to talk about the episode would be fun to do tonight.  So here’s YOUR place to chat it up about The Simpsons Guy (or anything else that comes to mind)…you know we LOVE hearing from you!
