Hey there Slashers!
Many times with the New Events I see PANIC. Mostly due to everything is new and no one knows just yet how to get the hang of what is going on. Well, just as usual, here to help in anyway I can with some Basic 101 and detailed breakdown of HOW TO on the aspects of the Game Play.
For this post, I will be diving into the Character Slasher Cat vs the NPC Slasher Cat Chasing Lois!
It seems that some Players are confusing an NPC single task action with the actual Character you can unlock in the game. In order to help with this confusion, I am going to help you take a look at the two items and what their purpose is.
SLASHER CAT (NPC) & LOIS
This is JUST a task. Nothing more. A Feature that was added into the game to help you earn “Stuff”. In this case, more Popcorn. This in no way has anything to do with the Permanent Character. Think of the Toad Users last Event. Just a wandering item, that you use a Characters Task to clear. That’s it.
Now for the other details…
When does Slasher Cat (NPC) appear?
After Death at the Drive-In Part 1
How do I get rid of Slasher Cat (NPC)?
You will need to first unlock Slasher Bait Peter, he is the only one so far that can get rid of Slasher Cat. Once Slasher Bait Peter is unlocked, it is just a quick tap on Lois being Chased to trigger the Pop Up.
Tapping on “GO!” will take just a few seconds for Slasher Bait Peter to go to Lois, the Cat will disappear, and your Reward will pay out of up to 15 Popcorn. Pretty instant.
How often does Slasher Cat (NPC) appear to attack Lois?
This is random. It will vary for every Player. So just watch what YOUR game does and see if you see a pattern. I have not so far.
When does Slasher Cat (NPC) attack Lois?
ANYTIME! This means she could be in a Building on a task and he will find her and make her run around the game. As soon as you clear the Slasher Cat with Slasher Bait Peter, she will go back to where she was and what she was doing. So if she is done with her task, you can clear that too at that point.
Can I use Lois while she is being attacked and chased?
No. She can’t be sent on tasks, have her tasks checked off, etc until the Slasher Cat NPC is cleared away by Slasher Bait Peter.
When will Slasher Cat (NPC) Chasing Lois go away for good?
I have not seen any details or confirmation on this as of yet, so for now assume at least throughout Week 1 content.
Side Note: As the two have NOTHING to do with one another, unlocking Slasher Cat Character will in no way what so ever impact the NPC Chasing Lois. They are two separate items.
SLASHER CAT (CHARACTER)
This is an actual “Character” for the game. Complete with a Questline and Fully Tasked.
Where do I find Slasher Cat (Character)?
He is located in the Movie Projection Booth with the other items you can create with Movie Reels.
How do I get Slasher Cat (Character)?
You need to FIRST unlock all the items before him in the Movie Projection Booth, meanwhile you will also need to earn 100 
Movie Reels to unlock him
Is Slasher Cat (Character) timed?
YES! Be careful as the moment you create the Pumpkin Tower Building in front of him… ANY tap on the Movie Projection Booth will start a 24hr timer to get him. That means you will ONLY have 24hrs to earn all those 100 Movie Reels and unlock him. If he times out, you will not have another chance and he will lock up.
How long do I have to get Slasher Cat (Character)?
The entire Event… as long as you do NOT create the Pumpkin Tower & Tap on the Movie Projection Booth starting the 24hr timer after doing so.
As I am sure more items will be added to the Projection Booth as the Event continues, this is going to get tricky. So try to earn enough Reels for EVERYTHING on Page 1 of the Projection Booth before starting his timer so you are ready to get him when that opportunity arises. That is 216 Movie Reels Total.

Just because I keep having to repeat this over and over and over and over… ALL FAQ on Slasher Cat, Timer, and including his cost WAS in the game from launch of the Event… and probably still there if you have yet to unlock him. I just added more detailed instructions and pointed out more specifically HOW & WHAT he was triggered by to help Players avoid the trigger until they were ready. As well as how to get enough Reels.

So if you do still do not like the way TINYCO “let you know” about how to get Slasher Cat… TELL THEM. Vent in WTD posts or keep it off the site. Any further vents on Slasher Cat will just go to trash. There’s no reason to destroy a helpful post that is here to HELP YOU. 🙂
There you have it. A quick Clarification of the Cat Confusion going on in the game.

I waited until I had 120 reels so I could buy the pumpkin tower and slasher cat back to back and thus avoid the problem with the timer. Buying the pumpkin tower went ok but when I bought slasher cat I just lost the 100 reels and got nothing.

I held off on getting the pumpkin tower because I wanted to save enough reels to get the tower and the cat at the same time. But I did go into phase two, but now it’s holding me back because I am having trouble getting enough sodas to get through the exchange of the new currency for reels. Any help to speed up the process other than spending clams? Oh yeah, and I accidentally unlocked the other 6 day timed challenge for Patty. So I need to progress and unlock Lois and the other stuff to help unlock her.

Just a quick question. Maybe I missed the answer somewhere on here. I’m holding off pumpkin tower and slasher cat until I’ve got enough reels…BUT…does that mean I have to hold off phase 2 as well? If I start phase 2 will I lose the chance to get Pumpkin tower and SCat?

I didn’t get Slasher Cat in time because I did put down the pumpkin tower, because I needed it to unlock brimstone to unlock Death character. I don’t think it was fair to have 24 hours from putting down the pumpkin tower to get the Slasher Cat. Next to impossible to get 100 reels in 24 hours.

The trigger still doesn’t happen til you went back though. You still could have waited and kept getting Reels THEN triggered him by going back into the booth. 🙂

This is a great site – and I should make it a point to check in before events like this. I had the same “surprise” on the Cat that a lot of people complaining have. There are better options than how that info was given to players – and going deep into the game for an FAQ is not really a great option. But it really has been drifting to a “money-grab” type of game, where it is unrealistic to accomplish certain goals or get certain characters without a lot of Clams being sent. So I made the decision to just do what I can within the confines of the game. Though the clam payout is a bit better than it used to be …

Thanks for all the info…question. Should I Buy? I’m at scream lvl 3 with the new week to start any minute now. I’m halfway to the pumpkin tower, but for the cat it will take another solid 3 days of grinding popcorn with all characters off their collection tasks for death. So do I save up or just say screw it, and unlock the pumpkin tower to get at the new act stuff. Does the cat do anything in this phase or in phase 2 that makes it worth the extra effort? I don’t really need another character to throw into storage, but if it helps in a significant way with this event….on the other hand it could take me days to get up to scream lvl 4 depending on how many scream points the pumpkin tower awards…

The trigger for ending the attacks seems to be completing part 3 of “Classic Horror Tropes” – so if don’t complete that if you still want the extra 15 popcorns.

Hi, first of all im sorry about my english, i will try to let me understand… ANY tap on the Movie Projection Booth will start a 24hr timer to get him. That means you will ONLY have 24hrs to earn all those 100 Movie Reels and unlock him. If he times out, you will not have another chance and he will lock up.
Reading this i was afraid because i think its too shortly time to unlock the f***ing cat only with unholy nuns, so obviusly you have to earn the reels before, but i see that in a past event ( valentines event) i get a beach gym and with it Chris Griffing can get 20 reels each 4 hours, so with it, its possible to get the cat in 24 hours almost if you don have reels earned!! Look in your inventory, maybe you have the beach gym and are losing time with the nuns. The action of chris in the gym is something like “training like a man” im not sure the exactly name i have the game in spanish. Hope this info can help someone..

Im not sure if yiu are replying me!! Yes im sure that itas an item from last valentines day event ( the item is the beach gym) and in all events after this, it help me a lot, all actions with Chris training like a man….. Im sure, it gives me 20 reels each 4 hours, always….. I can show you an image but i dint know where to post it….

I’ve spent a lot of money on clams in the past but this timed slasher cat really irked me. I think I’m done with this game. By the way I started the SC before you posted it so I didn’t get the hint before hand. Oh well. Thanks for all the help in the past.

Normally, I am willing to pay some clams to get a new playable character…especially if I get close to the end of a deadline or timer.
However, there was absolutely zero chance that I was going to spend over 1,300 clams (which would translate into spending some serious real world cash) to get Slasher Cat. I didn’t even get half of the reels necessary to unlock him. I bought 3 of the popcorn guys who generate tubs of popcorn…and I rescued Lois from Slasher Cat whenever I could. I was pretty successful at taking down the Unholy Nuns to get as much popcorn tubs as I could… but at 45 popcorn tubs to get a measley 5 movie reels, it very quickly became apparent Slasher Cat was just not gonna happen for me. Oh well. It’s not the end of the world. Onward and upward.
Was anyone able to unlock him without spending a ton of clams?

Yes… if did NOT trigger the timer and instead worked on getting Reels for him before tripping it.

How about a simple popup that says “This is a timed event – you have XXX long to finish and it requires XXX items, do you want to start this event?” Extremely easy to implement and would be very helpful in strategy planning.

Not so easily done as there is a LOT more built into it than that and each player games differently, could be days or weeks before they reach the point that the pop up was for. You can’t individually customize each game… so… see our site or in game FAQ

I don’t think it would be that tough to implement. There’s an event flag that starts the timer, right? Instead of starting the timer, you get that popup. Boom. Done. Same flag, slightly different outcome.

Feel free to join up with their team and program this “simple” feature into each and every players games to fit their game style and progress customizing it for over 1 million players. Let me know how that “Boom Done” goes. 😉

I assure you, even with my limited knowledge of programming, I could do this. I don’t know where you get “customizing it for over 1 million players”…my point is that it should be the exact same thing for EVERYONE.

You’re still missing the point, but I’m tired of the post turning into a TinyCo pitchfork and torch session. This is MY site. Not TinyCo. You think you can perfect THEIR game to make millions of people happy and not go bankrupt …by all means go for it. But enough of the totches. Keep complaints on THEM where they belong or off MY site. Go to their Facebook and have fun with the rest of the pitchfork and torch committee. Don’t assume it’s OK to come here and tear apart MY work that I do on MY own time from MY personal game to help others. This is a helpful site. I’m sure there are comments that are tearing down your work, and raising torches and pitchforks against TinyCo and possibly you, that I don’t see because you don’t approve them, and those aren’t acceptable, I agree. I think, however, that you are mistakenly conflating my comments, which are much more rational and measured, with those irrational angry ones. It’s very possible to like something, to be a fan of it, and to still recognize the flaws in it and note how they could reasonably be improved.

LOL – I have been a developer for many years and if they have the information to display a timer and the requirements (which they do because they display it right after you click the quest), then you could easily show this dialog box. It wouldn’t be custom for each player it would be tied to each timed quest. Just sayin’ 🙂

I am saying for Slasher Cat… an individually triggered item… not as easy as one would think to put ALL those needed details in and have it happen WITHOUT triggering timer. The “pop up” is the timer starting that is linked to it. Not what they’re asking for though. Just sayin 😉

Sigh, wish I had read this post earlier. I was so excited to have gotten to the last item of the first week’s prize selection. Making it timed to get him would be bad enough if it was a few days, but 24 hours? That and the increasing “price” of reels as you level up is just evil game design. This event may finally make me say goodbye to this time sink.

Accidentally started the timer on Slasher Cat so I guess that’s not gonna happen since 100 reels in 24 hours is impossible. Not very player friendly. That kinda stuff is getting really old.

Psst…psst…is Tinyco looking? No? Ok, I think I’ve found a little trick for summoning the Slasher Cat NPC. When Peter finishes his water balloon task, I send him on the 1-minute “Hide Lois’s Undies” task (under S&M Peter). Then I exit out of the game and hard-close it from my program menu. I wait a couple minutes, then go back in to my game, and there’s Slasher Cat chasing Lois. I collect from Peter’s quick task and have him free Lois before I send him back for more water balloons. No guarantees, but I’ve been using this tactic successfully the past 24 hours or so.

I still cannot clear any nuns 😦 I have emptied out almost my whole city, tried doing only tasks indoors, and restarting. Ugh this is frustrating because I have 2 days to clear the 45 nuns with 50 water balloons on reserve but I am unable to clear one single nun 😦

Man!!! Now I wish I had gone against my personal preference NOT to get hints online ahead of time. Because Slasher Cat is going to be impossible to get now that I clicked on him! Geezus Chrites! I can’t believe they set such an unrealistic goal on that stupid cat! With all the tools I have unlocked (not purchased) I can bank 56 reels in just over 20 hours. WTF? So to hell with the cat, I’m putting tasks toward unlocking Death.

Once you collect 100 reels for Slasher Cat, and buy him within the 24 hour period… do you now own him? Or do you still have to collect items to own him at that point?

Ahhhh, it’s the questlines that are getting me! I don’t collect from buildings, nor do I have any deco, and I was wondering why every time I looked I would have more hatchets! Just realized, have to be on level 4 for the next phase, and I am stalling on level 2, because 45 popcorns to get the movie reels seem a lot. Decisions, decisions; move on to get to the next phase, or collect reels for The Cat? Decisions, decisions!;-)

Thanks Bunny and Ren. I looked at your link Bunny and it says 30 popcorn for 5 reels for level 1&2. I am on level 2, and I need 35 popcorn tubs for 5 reels. Should I report this? Glad to know that I can move onto level 3, and still only need 35 tubs.

I’m doubting more and more that Slasher Cat NPC appears randomly. Can’t get predict it just yet, but me and my girlfriend have noticed several times that the cat comes at the same time. Latest just now, approximately 20:11 CET.
(btw, what does NPC stand for?)

None Playable Character. Just a random Image of a Character or item that shows in the game along with Characters, but does not have Character functions.

Actually “Non-Player Character”. It’s pre-video game RPG language describing a character played by a Game Master (Dungeon Master in D&D) as part of the story presented to a group of dice-rolling Players. Not arguing with Bunny. Just droppin’ some etymology for the youngsters…

Noticed again that the cat came back to both of our games, exactly six hours later. And then six hours again after that.
Last time I cleared him a few hours after he appeared, so at 14:10 CET I’ll know if that broke the six hour pattern.

So, that was pretty precise. Again six hours later, the cat showed up again. Nothing random about that ;-).
It’s not 100% exact though, it may be a few minutes off. My best guess is that TinyCo starts to release the cat to all games at for example 14:00, and then it takes about 15 minutes to complete and reach all players.

Maybe i screwed up but I have my scream up to 4 now and it takes 45 popcorn for 5 reels….Question….will Slasher cat disappears after the first week or do you have to manually start the next movie?

Well I cleared slasher for the first time this morning and within 20 minutes after assigning tasks to all my toons slasher cat is chasing Lois again. What a joke!
So no chance to get anything out of Lois for another 6 hours or so.

That is how it will be. It’s meant to help you boost getting popcorn. Popcorn is vital to getting reels

This keeps happening to me too!!! Lois has been utterly useless since he started appearing. She can never get a task underway for more than an hour before she’s being chased, and usually Peter is locked up in something else and can’t get her out of it. Worst of all, she is one of the few who collects that stupid extra-rare item for Death. It’s not like I can afford to have her off that task.

She’s still on the task. Peter isn’t needed really for anything else and getting popcorn from cat is better than getting a balloon.

So this really sucks for people who didnt know with no warning… how are you supposed to get it if you just triggered it right away?

I didn’t started the timer before I saw this too.. 😦 Like most things, it is obviously meant as a way to get you to spend money on clams, but I can’t imagine why they would think it would be worth $50. Oh well, no slasher cat for me.

I was more than aware that I should be carefull not to trigger slasher cat’s countdown before I had stocked enough film reels, BUT that didn’t stop me from triggering it by accident early this morning when I was still half slept. Well, no slasher cat for me neither.

I finally understand where this character comes from lol! He hasn’t aired yet that’s why I didn’t notice 😛 Seems like we’ll see Slashr Cat and slasher bait Peter and Lois on October 25th at 9 on ‘Peternormal Activity’. Cool that the event is kind of giving us an early preview.

This is similar to the valentine’s day event earlier this year. The kool-aid man’s girlfriend, Glenda Vagimire…and maybe a few others… but yea, they showed up here at around the same time as the show aired. This is really neat to have “previews” of future releases… now, if we could get Star Wars…. 😉

Here’s my main question – if one is building up reels but accidentally unlocks the pumpkin tower before wanting to, and therefore doesn’t get slasher cat in the 24hrs allotted (despite playing all the time) do you think the reels will transfer over to the next currency for the game (i.e. if I have 78 reels will it become 78 soda pops)?…I’m asking since you have more experience with past events to know what they tend to do. I’m quite pissed right now about this!! I play constantly and totally forgot about the timer because I knew it was 100 reels so I didn’t click on the prize area to check on it – they really should have put a timer on our “to do” list area that helps remind us as we’re playing…so we can see the countdown WITHOUT having to go into another screen that we have no current use for…yeah, I’m heated…like I said lol

I think I’m progressing quite well in this event, I created Quagmires Haunted House, and now have around 16 Film Reels banked, and will get another 5 in an hour. So now I’m going to leave creating the Pumpkin Tower until I have enough for both the tower and Slasher Cat, because knowing my luck if I create the tower now I just know I’ll accidentally end up tapping on the Movie Projection Booth.

Enjoying this Halloween event! Different from the Ghostbusters event last year but fun, nonetheless. And Death coming to Quahog, finally, is a plus! Glad there’s plenty of time to unlock him.

It’s nice that Lois’s timer keeps going while she’s being attacked. A few times she’s been attacked and as soon as Peter is free to clear her she goes back into the house and immediately get the check mark. With the payout an instant 15 as opposed to waiting 5 hours (plus the hour to create) for 10 it’s tempting to keep Peter free just to clear slasher cat. But without knowing when the cat will return and Peter needing to do so many things it’s probably not the best strategy. Especially since I’m in the middle of the timed challenge to get 45 nuns. With the quest to place the items from the projection booth I have to remember not to tap go after placing the pumpkin tower. Do not tap go do not tap go DO NOT TAP GO!!! 😛

Does anyone know where he’s from a real film or an episode cut away I’ve never seen him before but I did not watch the early seasons(as I don’t find them funny).

So, I saved her this morning around 8am, only for her to be chased again about 3 minutes later. Saved her and set her on a 8hr task. She was hijacked already by noon. I wanna say every 2-4hrs. Hard to tell since I’m checking every 5 hours to optimize balloon pay out.

If Lois is assigned a task she’ll still complete it even though she gets hijacked by Slasher Cat, so put her to work immediately before he comes back.

216 reels at 35 popcorn per 5 is 43.2 (so 44) turn ins which is 1540 popcorn.
So if you play 24/7, churning out those 10 popcorn an hour it’ll only take 6.42 days.
Not terrible actually. Especially when you get an occasional bonus 15 from clearing Slasher Cat.
It’s doable as a freemium player, though more likely that we’ll unlock Mr. Cat next week (if we choose to go for him).
I personally am going to skip him as 100 reels is 3 straight days worth of reels and that puts me unlocking him midway into week 2 (as I’ll unlock the Pumpkin Tower on Wednesday).
A better use of those reels seems to me to be advance on week 2 so I don’t continue to slip further and further behind on the content and thus missing out on the final week (or two!) of the event.
All the Cat gets you is 1 more extra rare chance at a scythe for Death but Death is a PITA to unlock anyway so no worries for me.
The key for the entire event is still to put your 5 characters on water balloon duty 24/7.

I have my scream up to 4 now and it takes 45 popcorn per 5 reels so math is different. Not sure how to keep the scream down…didn’t do anything special except place a few bloody footprints..about 14 scream points

Lvl4 already? Ouch! I’m still lvl2 thankfully. I am doing zero quests and just producing water balloons with my characters which might be why.
I am 10 hours away from the Mushroom tower so it’s not as though I’m terribly behind there.

i’m not understanding how to complete “Death At The Drive In Pt.7” Have Lois Break Up Love Birds because i put her on that task after i finally unlocked Slasher Bait Peter, jus went back into my game and she’s being chased by Slasher Cat again Lol i’m confused on how long this is gonna keep happening…
And! i jus wanna let other FREEMIUM players like myself, who are also freaking out tryin to get that skin, know that once Slasher Bait Peter is unlocked, a few things get done and completed pretty fast so everybody needs to CALM DOWN!!!(Like that BK commercial wit the chicken”having”chicken fries again LMAO!)

No worries. Just like noted here, she will be chased no matter what she is doing, but once you clear the Cat… she will go back to her task. So you can clear her check mark. Just keep clearing the cat when he shows up.

yes i figured it out finally(ahduuhhh moment lmao). so after Slasher Bait Peter clears Slasher Cat from attacking Lois, Lois autpmaticslly goes back to the task she was doing BEFORE he attacks her and i’m guessing she finishes up however long Slasher Cat was attacking her does that make sense now?! i think so LOL😂😔😐😶

Is it safe to build the pumpkin tower as long as after it is built we don’t go bck to the movie screen or should u not build the pumpkin tower at all until ur ready for slasher cat??

What about unlocking death? It’s giving me a 24 window to get stuff for him. Is that only to get the special holy water balloon weapon or do I need to get all his stuff in 24 hours before I lose him?

In reference to Slasher Cat:
It wasn’t that Lois being temporarily hijacked was a sense of panic….more of a severe inconvenience and annoyance, especially for new players. Sure there’s a might bit of crazy chaos going on this event as usual, but this I thought was a bit much. Glad you guys are here to offer up a roadmap and Q&A as I myself didn’t know she’d go back to her task afterwards. Thanks for the input and hard work.

There was all sorts of panic related to many things… but all focused on the Slasher Cat(s). So I offer clarification to help. 🙂

I have got to where I need 26 reels for quagmires house. Hope I’m not falling behind. Getting reels are such hard work trading in over 8-10 hours worth of tasks to get 5 at a time. I hope they increase the payout when the other concessions unlock.

Thanks Bunny; unfortunately my slasher cat locked up before I could get him. Not sure why he’s timed for only 24 hours. I would think till the end of “round 1” would be more realistic for most of us; after call, we don’t get a new monster for a week right?

I wanted to give everyone a heads up. Do not place Deaths House until you’ve unlocked everything at the concession stand aside from Slasher Cat. You get a 24 hour timed event that is difficult to compete without the cat cave and pumpkin tower

Yeah. I haven’t noticed a pattern for him attacking Lois yet either. I had thought it was every two hours BUT sent her on her 4 hour teach piano task and he didn’t attack her during that time and then I sent her again on it right after it and she got attacked during that time so I think the pattern is random. Oh well, a quick (that is if Peter isn’t on a task) way to get 15 popcorn so not going to complain about it.

With a payout of 15 popcorns, that’s better than putting Peter on a holy water balloon collecting task (5 hours), which ultimately gives 10 popcorns in my game at least. So on the average, if That Darned Cat shows up at least every 6-7 hours to torment Lois – no loss keeping Peter free to save her.
