During phase 1 of the event you’ll find Ida Davis and bring her back to Quahog! Working your way through Ida’s questline will help you earn additional Valentines to unlock more content from the store.
So what are we waiting for? Let’s take a closer look at Ida Davis and the questline you’ll encounter once unlocked…
Remember: Ida is timed. Once you “find her” you’ll only have 5 days to unlock or she’ll leave your game forever.

Peter starts
Repair the Park Bench- 50 Valentines, 8hr repair. Once you clear this repair you will start Ida’s timer. You’ll have 5 days to unlock or Ida will leave your game forever.

Is there any way to prevent the beer bottle issue with Herbert?
I crafted one of everything in the Brewery (except the Hops fountain, which was not in any quest line), and have crafted the two ChumbaWumba. I have finished all of the Pautucket Brewery questlines. (although I still have one ChumbaWumba walking around for Stewie to remove)
1 Can anyone confirm, do I need to craft (at least) one each of everything, or do I need to craft every single item, including all multiples, to stop Herbert from dropping beer bottles?
My big problem is not beer bottles – I have plenty. The tap handles and bubbles are holding me up.
2 And if you have to craft everything in multiples, does anything happen when you are done?
3 Can you then put the Brewery into inventory? (I cant now – too important!)

As long as the item is needed, it will drop. Some of the Brewery things have limits of Two… so it will still drop til you can’t earn that anymore. We are in talks with TinyCo about this one and suggest highly that players voice their opinion on it to via in game messaging.

I have not started on Ida yet, but when I do I plan on using this strategy – I hope it will work. I already built the Tunnel of Self Love, and I already repaired the bench, but I did not click the checkmark to collect it and start the 5 day timer.
My plan: I will start the characters on their tasks listed above for Ida’s items. That should take 6 hrs. Then, before collecting the completed task checkmarks, I will click the repaired bench to start the timer. Then, collecting the characters should, hopefully, drop the items and give me a head start. Can anyone confirm this will work?
(If not, would clicking the bench to start the timer a few minutes before the character tasks end allow the characters to drop items?)

It has in the past. As long as you repair the bench FIRST…then tap on the Characters.

I don’t regularly watch Family Guy on TV so I was unaware of Ida Davis and her role on the show. What I did notice is that she is one ugly lady. And then I went to her FaceSpace page … She’s a dude!! Too funny.

I thought I would chime in on the handbags. I don’t have the new district yet, so the beer bottles are not interfering with my handbag drop rate. Despite this I only have 4 handbags in 2 days with Herbert and Jerome going constantly. The drop rate sucks no matter what apparently.

Same here. I’m doing a little bit better, but after two days, I only have 5. I don’t have district 10 so beer bottles aren’t an issue.

I unlocked her just a half hour ago and it was kind of an annoying process. In the beginning Jerome or Herbert didn’t help at all and when i collected other items, there were still 9 more handbags left. Then it went well but the fact that Herbert’s task giving two items was a bummer. But i have to say that it’s not that expensive to unlock Ida with clams either, so as a last chance people can go that way.

Valentine’s Founding Father drops all three items needed for Ida. I bought the skin and am hoping it will fill in the lack of purse drops. 3 days to go!

So this may be a stupid question but i guess you can’t start getting the drops before clicking the check for repair bench? I used to be able to collect the items before unlocking some characters…

I was lucky because I only started playing FGQFS recently i’m only just finishing district 6 so I had no handbag problems with Herbert. The handbags were still double the amount of time than the medals and the pills but still got her in 2 and a quarter days.

I had to spend 30 clams to unlock Ida 😦 couldn’t risk not getting her/him the free way due to the crap drop rate on handbags
I hope TinyCo take note of a lot of these comments and don’t open phase 2 with multiple item drops on the same characters, especially for the brewery crap that no-one wants!!!

Absolutely Disgusted by the handbag drops, or lack of. Been running Jerome and Herbert non stop for 3 days, yet have only 3 of the 12 bags needed. Getting 9 more in less than 2 days ain’t happening. Herbert just keeps puking out beer bottles when he drops anything. These multiple item drops are BS, especially on a timed venture. This will be my first failure in unlocking a “freemium” character, and it’s not from lack of effort. Sucks Big Time!!! Severely Disappointed in TinyCo on this one.

Ah should have checked here first, thought it was just me having problems with the Handbags, poor old Herbert and jerome need a break they’ve been performing the same task over and over since I built the bench. Herbert has dropped bottles, but not 1 bag, seems like Jerome is doing all the work of 2. He must be sick and tired of darts by now. I have all the other items but only 4 of 12 of the bags with 2 days to go. Not looking good, may have to use my hard earned clams to complete the task.

Maybe I did something wrong but I had to have Ida dance twice to get her up to level 2 so she could do Part 4. I didn’t see a smaller task to take her up to the next level

Nope that’s what has to happen. Sometimes with the character Levels it takes a little while to get them to be able to complete their questline

Wow I did not realize I’d a was causing so many people problems. I was lucky and got her in 2 days. I finished all quests now so just collecting hearts until the next phase. Good luck to all of you and I hope handbags drop for you!

Hey everyone. I just started playing a few weeks ago and I still ding this game to be very confusing. This might be a stupid question but how do I “find” Ida to unlock her? How do I repair the bench? I’m sorry if this is a obvious question but I couldn’t figure it out. One other quick question. The next prize on my affection meter is either kool aid mans girlfriend or big mouthed dolls. Which one is a better prize? Is kool aid mans gf a playable character and what are big mouthed dolls? Thanx and have fun.

Just follow the questline…it will guide you. The bench is in the Event area when you can repair it you’ll see a hammer floating over it, tap on the hammer to repair it. We won’t know on the prizes until they’re released, but it appears they’re both decorations.

Are you collecting for Beautiful Peter, yet? I have test account at a low level to see how the early levels interact and Ida’s bench is there, but no hammer above it. The account hasn’t unlocked Lois, yet and she is a crucial character to have for this quest. If you can’t get beyond a certain point because a character needed to finish the questline is missing you won’t be able to move forward.

ALISSA problem I have got charecters I haven’t got in facespace constantly reminding me how I failed to unlock charecters it’s comicon and Halloween charecters and its sad seeing my failings pop up constantly make the nasty face book siloettes go away 😫

It looks like TinyCo took my suggestion of awarding 1 Clam for completing quest lines. I’ve noticed with this event Clams have been popping up more. So far there’s been 3 Clam awards.

Don’t understand why it’s been so easy to get the rare items quickly but the uncommon handbag seems to hardly drop even though had both Jerome and Herbert constantly on tasks to get it.

I think they must have somehow reversed the settings by accident because it is statistically impossible to have all the rare items but none of the uncommon ones…

I’m surprised Brian doesn’t have much to do with this. Or Quagmire. TinyCo should really look into the characters and find correlations because I have Brian and Quagmire being useless at the moment (well, Quag is collecting 20 Valentines every four hours, but still).
Loving the event though. So glad they changed the tasks to make things more interactive.

Today when I started my timer for Ida, Herbert and Jerome’s tasks for her no longer have beer bottles with the handbags. Thanks TinyCo!

Thats odd, I’m still getting beer bottles from Herbert. Guess I’ll go check the play store for an update. I’ve already forced closed and restarted it and that didn’t remove the beer bottles for me. 😦

Noticing the same unbalance as everyone else – had no problem with the military ribbons or the “rare” pills, but still have issues with the “uncommon” handbags especially since Herbert keeps dropping useless beer bottles instead.
For each thing TinyCo does right in an event (like adding the couples animation, showing the upcoming prizes) they always seem to have something that they hope will just frustrate people into spending clams before time runs out (like characters dropping useless items or items at a far lower rate than they should be).

I’m a freemium player and whenever there is a timed char I always fret that I’m not gonna be able to get all the items in time,but I have never missed one.so even tho I’m worrying, I know I’ll end up getting Ida.

Arrrgh, those handbags are almost impossible to get and I’ve had Herbert and Jerome constantly on task! I’ve gotten more of the “rare” hormone pills. I wish they’d give us at least one more freemium character task to earn them!

Grandpa and his beer bottles are not helping. Makes no sense to have him helping if he is needed for something else. Also a waste of him when you don’t even need beer bottles anymore.

The handbags are proving a real challenge. Herbert keeps dropping beer bottles (for the brewery zone), which I do not need. If only that final chumba wumba became available, then I could buy it, and Herbert could produce handbags. Please tinyco release the final brewery chumba wumba. Or recognise that I have 50 redundant beer bottles, and do not want any more.

Well on course to get all of Ida’s items except the bloody handbags, only got 2/12
I still think it’s crap that Herbert has the same task for Ida’s handbag AND for Pawtucket Pat’s bottles, I’ve already crafted enough to finish his quest line so I don’t want anymore crap from the brewery!!!
I feel a clam purchase on its way to finish Ida off by the deadline, shud get it down to 40-50 for the remaining handbags

The handbag drop seems to be the limiting factor. It’s only an uncommon drop, but it’s a 6-hour task and they assigned it to the same task Herbert uses to drop beer bottles for the brewery. He has always dropped bottles instead of the handbags so far, so it’s really just down to Jerome. When they do things like that, do you think they’re intentionally nerfing the drop rate, or do you think it’s just a lack of proper testing?

I’m with the others on the handbags. I have collected everything but 5 hand bags. Only having two players able to have the chance at getting them plus Herbert having the same action for beer bottles and handbags makes it a bit more difficult. It looks like it’s going to be cutting it close, I have two more days on the timer and 5 hand bags to go. I was hoping to be done before the update tomorrow.

Still having handbag issues, 3 days in and constant play, even with setting Jerome & Herbert on the tasks during the night I have only 4 handbags. Herbert dropping so many beer bottles has thrown this challenge of course for me and think this might be the first time even with diligant play I will fail to beat the timer 😦 But I’m going keep trying. Wish me luck fellow addicts.

Same here. Though the drop rate appears to have improved in the last 24 hours. I went from needing 7 to needing 1. Here’s hoping I get the last one in the next 10 hours left on Ida’s timer. Otherwise I’ll end up spending clams.

I have already unlocked Ida and Im on the last part of the quest line but Im still having a little trouble with the love /hate people i wish it was easier to tell which couple gives red and which ones gives purple

If you wait and watch the couples when they stop to kiss, you will see either red hearts coming off of them or purple, broken ones. It takes a little while of staring at them like a perv, but they will either make out or she will slap the crap out of him. Hope this helps!

Hey it took me a second too. In order to watch them easier I delete most of my roads so I could watch them easier. Keep your eye on one couple and after they kiss she will either slap him and you will see Purple Hearts or she will kiss him longer and you will see red hearts. Hope this helps!

Just started the last stage of Ida’s quest line. And on the last step of Arnold’s questline. Now just to get those damned hate hearts to get the liquor store. Looking forward to tomorrows update to see what else they have in store for us.
