Update Alissa 10am EST: A LOT of you are commenting that you can’t get Cheryl, the bench doesn’t have a build option. The answer is…it will. Just keep moving through the questline, when the questline prompts you to build it you will be able to. Until then…don’t worry your game isn’t broken. Just collect to unlock Glenda and have fun 🙂
Also, a number of questions about when phase 2 will start. Remember, you must complete ALL of The Beautiful People questline in order for it to start (it’s 10 parts). Once you complete that the next phase will start. (and nope, you don’t have to have Ida for it to start)
UPDATE BUNNY 135AM EST: Received following info from.TinyCo in regards to Lois going on date issue…
There is currently a bug where if a player has nerd squatters and can clear them with Mid Life Crisis Lois, we had to disable the date action to prevent a different very bad bug where players cannot get Lois out of the coffee shop.
To help alleviate this issue, we’ve changed the quest to read “Have someone join Peter on a Coffee Date” as any date with Handsome Peter should completes the quest, not specifically Lois.
So now you can send anyone to clear the task until issue is resolved.
UPDATE BUNNY 1245AM EST: Reports from TinyCo of crashing from iOS users linked to Facebook. They are looking into it, so hang tight.
Seeing an increase in reports of unable to send Lois on the Date with Peter. Try a few things first…
1: Make sure Lois is free (Characters will NOT show up for the Date option while in a task).
2: Make sure you are scrolled to Lois and not one of her other Costumes
3: Try to trigger it from the task pop up in the Menu list
4: Try to send her from the Coffee shop, if possible
If all methods tried and still no luck, Contact TinyCo from your game. We reported it already too and will update if hear anything back.

From here you can pick and choose characters to send on 4hr dates! Depending on how the date goes you can either heart Love Hearts, Hate Hearts, Clams or prizes!
We’ll have a full breakdown on just how-to send characters on dates, but basically you pick and choose from the available list and they’ll go on a date for 4hrs.

The Perfume Sprayers have arrived in town as the new squatters for the event. They’ll walk around your town and the only way to clear them is through a character interaction.

Each time you clear them it takes 2hrs and you can earn an item for Cheryl, Valentines or Clams!

I was just wondering if anyone has been having problems with lagging? It just started for me today, and I also just got to the perfume sprayers today. Not sure if they caused it or if that was just coincidence. But it happens when I am zoomed out, it just kind of gets stuck between animations. I noticed that if I just keep trying to zoom in, it eventually does and then I can continue playing, but it’s not easy to play zoomed all the way in, and it’s nearly impossible to collect from the PDA couples.
I just contacted TinyCo about it, but I just wanted to check here first to see if anyone else has been experiencing it. I don’t think it’s my phone not being able to handle it because I’ve been playing since the game came out, so I’ve always had a pretty full town, and I even just put a ton of old buildings and decos in storage because I was completely out of room. Anyways, just thought I’d check in with you guys. It will probably be a few days before I hear back from them and u guys are always on the ball here. Lol

Many are. It’s the memory drain with additional live animations. We see it in many games we play. All you can do is try to limit outside actions, animated decos and buildings stored, strong signal for game to run on. Lots of empty storage on device. And NOTHING else running in device in background.

Awesome thanks! It’s just weird for me cause its the first time I’ve had it happen yet. I made it thru the stink bombers, and the mall Santa’s and reindeer and stuff without a problem. Maybe my phone storage is just getting too full. I might have to try and clear some room.

I have 266 broken hearts and waiting for the brookfield insane asylum. I’ve read it unlocks at the second phase, but how many hearts does it actually require? If I have too many hearts now, will the meter reset itself after I get it? What is the second phase- the theater coming soon? Also, what is the beautiful people part 13?

Actually…THIS right now is Phase 2. Phase 3 will be up next and unlock one or both of the next prizes (we won’t know til then). It will hit as it states in the game Event Menu, Thursday.
As it has not hit, we don’t know the requirements for hearts, so I cant say what will happen… just once cleared the hearts WILL reset to zero again for the final Prizes.

It all depends on who you have in your game. Do you own all the Characters in the list? It will also vary on what area you are sending them on a date to. See posts below

I thought I was making good time this event (had Glenda Saturday afternoon with just Arnold helping) and was ready for starting on Cheryl. Now I think I am looking at Cheryl start no earlier than 2 am. Usually am finishing character unlocks on Tuesday, so this is a little disconcerting for me to just be beginning one. Guess I cross my fingers and plow on.

Can you confirm if the collections for Cheryl are still the same as listed above? I am not at the point of collecting for her, but I noticed that TinyCo has provided the requirements on their site (updated 1 day after your post) that have different tasks.
From their website:

Maybe they have just forgot to list that Clearing the Perfume Sprayers drop all items. Then newly added, for extra help, the Arnold and Pawtucket Pat tasks. And then swapped out the Caring Caricatures (HV purchase) for the Liquor Store (Affection Meter) as the “freemium” building. And maybe they just dropped Jerome.

If you take a look at Arnold’s task… that one IS Clearing Perfume Sprayers… so already there as it is for Cheryl, Glenda, and him. And if you look at the Perfume Sprayers pop ups, you will see the chance of those being drops as a possibility.
Caring Caricatures is a building, so you will NOT see task for it. It is the building payout. It didn’t show in its purchase as it was required BEFORE you got the chance to even repair Cheryl’s bench. So many won’t see it til they get to the point of unlocking her. At that point the chance to drop will be there as you collect on the building.
I have the task for Jerome, just sent him on it in fact. Still there. Once you collect them all, you won’t see the Material icons anymore. Task is still there.

Hi there. How often do the perfume sprayers appear in the game? I’ve just run out of them. Also, is the next hate prize just the Asylum or do you think it will be a Valentine Skin? I already have it and as I have every building since the launch of the game I have so many buildings in storage so, much as the statue is lame, I would rather get that than get a duplicate building. I don’t need it for in game cash as TinyCo refunded me for missing cash & instead of crediting me with $100,000, they refunded me 3 times with $10 million each time. I asked them to take it back but they said it was in my game now so I might as well keep it. I now have over $33 million so I don’t think I’ll run out of cash somehow. Shame it wasn’t clams lol. Anyway, if anyone can answer these questions is appreciate it as I would hate to find out the prize was a skin and I missed out. I got stuck with bumper cars as I was clearing couples during update and am frustrated with that. I can no longer say I have every building. Thanks and thanks for a great site. Keep up the good work.

Grrrr. This quest is getting long & annoying. Still don’t have the bench unlocked & am on part 7 of the quest. Do you know if part 8 involving mort is either the 10 or the 14 hour task? It would be nice to get that started so I can move on to part 9, which may be the part that unlocks the sprayers & Cheryl’s bench. BTW, completing the Chris & Herbert date before part 7 triggers does not complete the requirement in advance.

Why can’t all the characters date? My characters are free and they still are not available to date, nor is it in there action logs, for example quagmire isn’t available to date ever! Some other characters like Jillian or Bonnie, i don’t have many women as it is.

It is the same as not all Characters can do a task to earn Materials. It is just random. As far as Quagmire, he participates in the dates as his alter Glenda Vajmire once unlocked.

Remember though…the event is not over… Beautiful People may STILL continue in the next Phase 3. It has happened before. 😉 (Beautiful People started it off in Phase 1)

The next reward for collecting hate hearts is the brooksfield insane isylum, which I already have. It would be nice if they had something new. And the love heart alternative is just a deco.

I say wait until the update hits. I have a funny feeling about the Cupid statue. Tinyco doesn’t do things randomly or without some careful consideration. There is a reason why that insane asylum is paired with Cupid, of that there is no doubt.
What makes me believe that even more is because everyone who has it has mentioned not wanting a duplicate, and it’s still there.
There is an agenda and I think we should just wait it out.

The item is locked though- even with over 100 hate the meter is stuck in the exact center between love and hate.

Is it just me, or is Stewie’s Mystery Box pretty weak this event? The “rare” prizes seem hardly worth it. Plus I got farrrrr too many Valentine’s from the Brian Box. Sometimes 5 times consecutively hoping to get clams just ONCE. Learned my lesson on that.
The rest of everything has been awesome though. The dating adds a whole different element to the fun!

I was on Part 8, but every time I read through your guide, my brain said, “yep, your on 9”. It finally clicked and I felt like a dummy. I was having Internet issues the night of the update, so I kept thinking my game didn’t update correctly. Thanks for the info. I know it can be challenging getting asked the same question a billion times. You guys do a phenomenal job.

I don’t know if this has been addressed or not, but I can’t get to phase two. My game updated (my max level changed) but nothing else appeared. I’ve contacted Tinyco and haven’t heard back yet. I’ve tried deleting my game and reinstalling it, and that didn’t even work.

Interesting twist to the event this week, love it so far and fyi the new year tower has been patched and is no longer giving clams 😦 but I completed the collecting 4 times 🙂

I don’t have no perfume sprayers in my town is something wrong or do u need to get to a certain point in the event to unlock them

Progress through the questline, they’ll unlock as you move through it. Once Glenda is unlocked they should popup
