Hey there Minions!
Phase 2 of the Romancing the Clam Event just dropped into our silly lil games. With it a LOT of cool new stuff and features. One of those very features includes sending Characters on “Dates”. Well, here to help break it all down for you.
First off, in order to be able to send Characters on dates you will needed to be to “My Funny Valentine” Part 1 and have completed the repair of the Morning Arousal Coffee.
HOW DO I SEND THEM ON A DATE?
This will be triggered in one of two ways…
You will get a prompt in the questlines to initiate a date… this is done by the usual way.
Go to the Characters task list and select the option to send them on a date.
You can also just tap on Morning Arousal Coffee and initiate the date from there.
HOW DO I SELECT A CHARACTER?
You will be able to select a total of TWO Characters to go on a date. The First Character once selected will appear in the box on the Left. If you decide to change your mind on them, just tap the X in the top right corner of the picture of the Character.
YOU CAN ONLY CHANGE THE FIRST CHARACTER!!!
Once you pick the first one, make your selection of a Second Character for a date. This can NOT be changed, so choose wisely. As soon as the Second Character is picked, the timer will start on the date and you either have to speed it up or wait for it to time out to start another one. (FYI, the initial Hint did NOT change in either location)
WHAT DO I GET FOR THE DATES?
If it turns out the Date was a Good Date, you will get Love Hearts.
If it turns out the Date was a Bad Date, you will get broken Hearts.
There will also be chances for other things too. Some combinations will produce more of the Hearts than another grouping. If you have a Special Combination, you can even get Materials, Decorations, and Buildings among other Rewards.

As you can see, you can win Materials and Clams too. Keep in mind though, you can only win the Clams ONCE. Next time you will only get the Heart Prize. Materials will vary on WHO you are collecting for.
CAN I SEND THE SAME CHARACTER ON TWO DATES?
Just as in the game, you can NOT send a Character to perform more than one task at a time. So if you want to send the same Character on a Date with a different Character, you will have to wait until they are done.
WHAT ABOUT A DATE IN THE PARK?
This is a side option and will be up to YOU to choose to take this route. A questline “A Walk To Remember” will trigger the option for you to repair the Romantic Thoroughfare” for 200 Clams. Again, this is optional.
UPDATE: TinyCo did confirm that if you purchase this, you will have a version of it for your town that you can keep once the Event is over.
WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE PARK AND THE COFFEE SHOP DATES?
Dates in the Morning Arousal Coffee will consist of mostly basic Characters and take 4hrs to complete.
Dates at the Romantic Thoroughfare will consist of more Premium Characters and take 2hrs to complete.
WILL THE PRIZES IN THE PARK BE DIFFERENT?
Yes. Again, the pair you pick will determine the Reward.

HOW DO I KNOW IF I ALREADY MATCHED A COUPLE?
There is a really cool tell tell sign in the game to let you know who you already matched and what the results were. Just select the First Character then scroll through the others.
You will see a Red Heart with an Arrow through it if the date was Good and awards Love Hearts. 
You will see a Knife stabbed through the Purple Heart if the date was Bad and awarded Hate Hearts. 
A more detailed and complete list of all the matches is coming up, so keep an eye out for it.

If you are in District 7, you won’t be able to. Glitch issue with her and the Wizard Nerds.

You have to get past that part for her to appear as a date option. Otherwise, she will remain locked for dates. Sorry. Locked out to avoid you not being able to play at all with the glitch the lock out is preventing.

I’m trying to send Lois and Peter for coffee but Lois doesn’t show up with the option of sending her to coffee and she is not currently on a task?!?!

I’ve been collecting broken hearts to win a particular prize, only every time after I collect the hearts, my total is different (less than what it should be). I had way more than 124 broken hearts, but it keeps going back to this total. Am I doing something wrong or is it the game?

You have not fully updated to Phase 3. Follow more questlines to unlock the ability to actually get the new prizes. Until then… it will keep resetting.

So I have 305 hearts on the bottomright meters all the way to the right but if I click the little cupid dude in the back it shows the meter in the middle and it has locks on who the character is and either prize..Am I doing something wrong like not sending the right couple on a date to unlock the next portion?

Nope, I just have Brewhaha and Fire Hazard Bed. Could it make a difference if you have Peter first and Meg second? Not sure which order I had them in the date boxes.

It shouldn’t matter at all. I still got the prizes no matter who was selected first/last. If you try again and still nothing, please report it to them.

Sorry but I still can’t find this anywhere…where can we find a list of the dating “clues” (i.e. He’s a nice guy with many talents and she likes animals) and their answers? I know there are a few unknown answers,Mobutu at least a list of “here’s what we’ve tried” would help instead of having to search through comments…

They randomly pop up and are only there to direct you on matches. They are NOT the same for everyone and don’t even clear right away. They are what they say, just hints. So it won’t matter at all if you make that match or not. It’s just an added fun quiz element.
Also, due to they are random and don’t clear… there is not a solid way of knowing the EXACT matches on them. Just everyone’s best guesses. So the BEST thing to do is to look at the comments. It’s not like you HAVE to get that match.

Ok hoping this is not a stupid ? Or already covered somewhere. Why arent all open characters available to go on dates? I had several of then open and only about 6 in the coffee shop to choose from. I have Lois available so I know it’s not the nerd glitch…

Just something TinyCo did. They broke them up that a small amount are freemium and a larger quantity are premium (for those who want to use clams to get things done faster). But still, not all characters can date. Just how they set it up

ok if I just posted this sorry so reposting it cause I don’t see it where there is a heartblinking and the cupid writing letters is that anything special cause everytime I click it I get error sign and game restarts

Try to force close your game and restart your device. If it keeps up, you may want to try further troubleshooting and/or contact TinyCo. That area just takes you to the current info list for the heart prizes.
