Update: There seems to be a lot of confusion about Affection Meter Prizes & this Phase. As noted in the post below, you MUST have completed My Funny Valentine Part 13 to see anything from Phase 3 (except the Goat, he’s independent of Phase 3). This includes Affection Meter Prizes. So if you’re not getting Bonnie’s prize, check to see if you’ve completed My Funny Valentine Part 13.
Also, as noted below, Cupid won’t unlock until you’ve reached Part 6 of Can’t Buy Me Love. So until that point you won’t see his bench available for repair.
Hello There Clammers!
Week 3 of Valentine’s Day is now live! And just in time for the Oscars, it’s time to send characters on Movie dates! Ahh the perfect date…where you don’t have to talk to each other.
Back with more as we go through it…
Note: Cupid IS Timed! Once you repair the bench and find him, you’ll have 5 days to unlock. So proceed with caution! Cupid also REQUIRES the Cupid Statue from the Affection Meter. So you MUST get the Love Prize if you want to unlock Cupid. Again…if you get the Hate prize you will not be able to unlock Cupid at this time.
IF you’re close to the hate prize…you’ll still have a chance to get it in the Handmade Valentine Box. More details on it below…but if you go for the Asylum you can still win the Statue in that box.
First thing you may (or may not notice) is some changes have been made to the PDA couples…in how they look. From TinyCo:
“Enamored Couples will feature a dark-haired man with a dark gray shirt and a blonde woman with a pink shirt. They will also have pink hearts floating around them when they stop walking. Enamored Couples will stop and kiss.
Angry couples will feature a blond man with a light purple shirt and a brunette woman with a red shirt. They will also have purple broken hearts floating around them. Angry Couples will stop and fight.”
Also…you MUST have completed My Funny Valentine Pt. 13 in order to see Phase 3….

New Dating Options
The Casaroja Move Theater in the Event Area opens up a whole new set of dating options and prizes! Same deal as before. To send characters on dates just tap on the theater (or their task box) and pick two characters to send on a date to see their comparability. Each date lasts 4 hrs, and can earn you Love Hearts or Hate Hearts!

I now have completed EVERY task, and have EVERY prize. Yet all properties and characters are still spitting out handmade valentines. I currently have over 45,000 valentines. They REALLY REALLY need to have something to spend these on tomorrow or convert them to Clams at least. Like 1 clam per 250 valentines. I go back to Christmas and I just started and collected a few Gingerbread men in hopes of unlocking Jesus, but when he finally opened he was a whopping 15,000 gingerbread men. That was unfathomable at the time. I made sure to really get into this event to maximize my return, and now it looks like all I did was waste countless clams to get useless HMV’s and that is just like losing cash and that sucks. They should bring back some previous skins and characters or something for others in the same situation as me. Let’s be honest, IT COST THEM PRACTICALLY NOTHING. The character artwork has already been completed all they have to do is insert a little code and turn it on. If I eat 45,000 HMV’s they will lose a dedicated player. If only one person made a difference. I just hope they do the right thing and give us something to buy with all these hard earned HMV’s. Anyone else in the same situation? If so let me know.

So I need 200 love hearts to get hot Meg. I’ve been doing the 7 love heart dates over and over. Any other suggestions? I saw that the chapel gives hearts. Does anyone know how many? I had thought about using clams to speed up the dates, but I don’t know if it’s a lost cause at this point. Also, is the goat limited time? I really love goats but if he’ll be around a while maybe I’ll hold off.

Goat is limited. Chapel drops 10 at a time, so depending on how much you want to spend… it may be worth it to buy it and speed it up. Dates are costly to speed up. 24 Clams each. But weigh what amount spend would be better for YOU before you decide.

I’m going to start off by saying I started the game about 32 days ago and now I’m level 29 ☺️👏 I absolutely love The Valentines Day even, kinda sad to see all the cute stuff go😩 I have 3 days left to get Cupid on my timer, but the event ends tomorrow💔 I don’t suppose there’s gonna be anyways to maybe ask them to give us gamers until the 28? Or atleast still get the Valentine’s, Cupid and the Valentine’s box is there? I just really want him, I only need the statue, I got the Asylum before I even knew about the importance of the statue😩

I just want to say that the V-Day event was great. I had the time and resources (Rupert’s mystery box) to get everything that I missed by choosing the wrong hearts. Thank you Tinyco for taking in consideration that in between work and other obligations, there are fun, challenging games to enjoy without spending hours and money. Thank you to my fellow addicts for the laughs and guidance. And Bunny & Al, you ladies are the best! That concludes my Oscar speech. Lol. I now return you to your regularly scheduled clamming.

This event offered some new interesting ways to play, dating, but they really dumbed it down, not as much fun as previous events.
Is it me or do the new “love” PDA couples males look like Spock?
I remember a challange and thrill with the Comic Con event and lesser amount with Halloween and Xmas. When you started there is George Takai but he costs a huge amount that you never think you can get so you keep grinding and thinking maybe I can get there maybe and you get him and feel AWESOME. This event lacked that sort of look what is to come, plus they made it eaiser as it went! The hardest thing to get might have been Ida in 5 days (not really but maybe 2 days, where as Tiegs took like 1.3 days, and Cupid took 12 hours).
Well it least it was kind of a cool event, but would it have been cool to send valentines to facebook friends like the xmas gifts during xmas?

I just realized (after reading these posts), that you dont use clams for the HM box! So, thanks for your post! I played my game, and had 6k hearts. I collected a bunch of stuff, but on the last box I could buy, I got the statue! That was some awesome timing for me all around! I really hope you get your statue! Good luck!

Just a quick one to everyone that is complaining about the cupid statue. Suck it up. I went the wrong way and only afterwards realised it was needed. My initial thought was get the building not the deco. Well played TinyCo. Well played.
With mystery box only at 1000 HMV’s my interest and involvement in playing the game peaked and a couple days later – low and behold – I got lucky and now (amongst other things) have Cupid.

One thing I would like to say, Family Guy TQFS was released as a standalone game. To the best of my knowledge, TinyCo did not state a requirement to read this site in order to be safe in your choices (or another site). The problem is, it has become that way. You have to read this site or another forum to look at what people have done, in order to not miss out by making the wrong decisions. There have been numerous occasions where starting a questline has imposed a timer, resulting in many people losing out on a character, as they did not know it was going to do that. I read people saying you stick up for TinyCo too much, I read people complaining etc. I can see both sides of this. I am glad forums help the community and me personally, I use them before making decisions. That said, a lot of people do not know about them or discover it too late. It is not fair saying you should of looked on the site to see what other people have done. I believe the game should be playable without having a forum as a manual. Now to some extent it is but game changing decisions (things that have an impact on getting or not getting, more importantly being able to get or not being able to get) a character should not be left to research on the Internet. You spend a lot of time working on this site and liaising with TinyCo so I believe you are too invested to agree. That said, this is my opinion which I am sharing calmly, unlike a few others on this forum. Thank you.

This is my thoughts on it. There IS FAQ which will give you a basic rundown of the game. All built into the game itself. As with ANY game I have played from the NES on up, it has always been and I believe always will be up to the PLAYER to figure out the game on their own. Plain and simple, where is the fun in the game if there is no challenge? Where is the feeling of success and accomplishment if everything is just handed to you? There are instruction manuals and other sources of help for those other kinds of gaming systems too (we are kinda like that instruction manual). We don’t have to do this. TinyCo does not ask us to do so. We offer all of our information freely while WE play the game. It is the same information ANYONE can get from just playing the game. We just go more in depth, spend the time, and spend the money to do so. So to say we do it for THEM??!! That’s insulting. If we did it for them, we would be just as vague, push to buy EVERYTHING, and support ONLY what THEY say. I would say the same for ANY gaming house out there. THEY do not have to give us any info. That is their choice. What I stick up for is MY opinion.
We are two individuals playing the game right along side everyone else. Just because we have opinions does no give cause for us to be accused of taking sides. If people saw the THOUSANDS upon THOUSANDS of emails sent to them on players behalf, I think that tune would change quickly. No to mention the THOUSANDS of dollars invested in our games and our site FOR the players so they know what is coming and to try and help PLAYERS save money and not waste it. So again, not sure how anyone would translate as US in it for THEM.
I will say what I always say…this is not a game for everyone. It is not a gaming style for everyone. It will be challenging. It will take time and effort spent. It will be hard at times. In short, if I wanted a game I just click and move on “brainlessly” I will go back to Candy Crush or other simplistic “tap and move” style games. THIS is the style I like. Old School. RPG.
I appreciate your insight and appreciation for what we do here. Sadly, I think many become accustom to the “instant anything” mentality that tech has instilled in minds these past 10 years. THIS game is anything but instant and I hope it never changes from that style. It would be a shame if it did.

This is my POINT exactly! It’s also a little contradictory though to the posts saying players should have researched what to do before making choices. While this site provides the answers, it also removes the entire challenge from the game. Yes I know people are NOT forced to use it, you are NOT forced to do it, it would be more rewarding if people HAD to discover the answers (as you said).
I believe companies like TinyCo (and all of the others) rely too heavily on the fact sites like this WILL offer solutions to issues like NOT being able to see into the future and NOT knowing if I you click an item, it will start a countdown. If you do NOT take an item, you will NOT be able to finish a quest line.
I believe something in between would be vastly superior. I mean a game where the player did not require a site to play effectively. A game where the forums were used for community posts and not WALTHROUGH guides (which are required in this game, if you do not want to waste money, as you said)
I cannot agree that this is challenging. Time consuming YES, challenging NO. I can list many challenging games, on numerous consoles from the Atari 2600 to the modern day ‘Next – Gen’ consoles. This game has very little challenge and is more of a time sink which is what I love and hate. Many of us play because we are stuck in the routine and many of us even like that.
On a lighter note, maybe if you were not sending “thousands upon thousands” of emails on players behalves, TinyCo would be able to respond to my support tickets in less than a month lol.
To clarify I Do use this site and I Do appreciate what you guys produce. I just have an opinion on it being a necessity for smooth progression.

Apologies if I’m being intrusive with this reply, I actually do recall getting a message in-game that stated we would need the Cupid Statue to unlock Cupid. Though I don’t know if that might have been something added later as a result of user complaints.
I’m not too upset with Tiny Co about it, though. In my experience, they’re really good about realizing what went wrong with each event and changing it int he future. In this case they may have wanted to have one prize required for Cupid for players that wanted him, and then repeated a possibly popular item from Halloween for players that didn’t. They may not have put in enough foresight to realize that not all players would realize they need the statue or that they might not have enough Valentines to get the box enough times.
So I wouldn’t be surprised if, assuming they go with this pick-and-choose format again, they’ll rethink including a required prize in the future: It’s turned out to be a detail that didn’t work out as well as they had hoped. And since I’ve seen even tiny changes that Tiny Co has made compared to past events (Everything from how many characters have actions that earn items to the complete format change of the V-Day event), I trust that they’ll keep improving it with feedback like this in the future.
Was it a bad choice in hindsight? Yes. It’s also something they are probably going to learn from and change in the future.
And at the same time, I do agree with Bunny that a key part of games is supposed to be figuring out what to do on your own. Or at least it was in the past, before the Internet made it so easy to look up sources like this. Most likely companies count on these sites to pass on information because there isn’t a single game in existence that doesn’t have some form of a walkthrough. Every game has an official printed walkthrough, or a fan-made guide online. Those who are confident in their choices (And I mean this in the most respectful tone possible) make them without a guide and accept the consequences of doing so. Those that second guess themselves go to the Internet to find a site like this guide to ensure they won’t make a bad mistake. It all connects to how you play games overall, really.

I have 1400 hmv and need to get the statue from the box. I haven’t given cupid 1000 yet cause if I dont get his statue I’d rather have an extra item. Do you think I should give him the 1000 and then go try for the statue or keep trying for the statue. I’ve tried 3 times and got the fountain, coffee shop, and the theater. And in my last post I said how I felt they dropped the ball. You replied that its not their fault we went after prizes blindly. I read many other post where people were wondering when they were going to announce what the prizes were cause the couples kept coming and nobody wanted to waste heart opportunity, a lot of people had problems with lois and others going on dates leading to not being able to win certain prizes. I cannot afford to pay for clams so my margin for error is small. In hindsight my opinion might have been a little harsh, but can you not see my point also instead of just sticking up for tiny co.

We are NOT sticking up for TinyCo in anyway shape or form. I was pointing out a fact in everyday life. It is difficult to place blame on something that you chose to willingly go into blindly. We all did not know what they did. We all knew there would be NO info on what they do until it’s released in the game (no gaming house is obligated to tell you all their surprises or game methods. That would ruin the game completely.) We all knew the risk of going for one over the other. You did not have to do it. You could have waited to see what each item was needed for. It would be the same as you assuming what their next event is right now, doing things in your game on that assumption, but then getting upset when it actually comes it… it was not what you thought or wanted. Make sense? It is not fair to get upset at someone or something that had nothing to do with YOUR personal choice and decision. Including us Addicts who are ALWAYS here to help our fellow players.
Regardless, you now know what you need to do to continue on in the game (with all the details we always provide to help). So how YOU proceed again will be YOUR choice. You can try to get through the questlines and see when you get to Cupid if it will be worth it to you to just forget the statue and instead see if there is a minimal Clam buyout. Or if by then you have enough to try another Mystery Box and then again, if you don’t get the Statue… figure out just how worth it is to YOU to have Cupid in your game. Will you still want him 3 months from now? Will it matter to you? Will you regret not getting him? It all comes down to your choice and your game play on how it will play out.

I appreciate an opinion…but the comes a point when we tire of hearing we are in it for TinyCo. We are not. We are now and will ALWAYS be in it for US…the PLAYERS. It is why we spend OUR money and OUR time on the game to help YOU players out. So to say otherwise is an insult on us.
I am sorry you feel I was sticking up for them. I was just stating an honest fact from my experience. They do not monitor every action of every player. That would be impossible. I was trying to relay that it is not their intention to mislead players. They had no way of knowing in advance HOW far ahead players would get on collections of hearts.
I am just trying to help in a way to get you to see a bigger picture. Look at it from other eyes. Had you waited even just a slight bit, you would have had the information you needed for the statue and able to make a more appropriate decision on what would be best for you and your game pace. No company will every release all their surprises for their game… if they did, there would be no challenge or surprise.
The Lois issue was something they DID focus on. There was a major reason she was disabled and they caught it prior to the release. Had they not did what they had done, MANY Players would have not even been able to play the event and instead been completely locked out of the event all together. Again, a view I take on the PLAYERS behalf. Had they just said oh well and went with it… all those people out of the event. Just think. Instead, they found a way around it to keep them in. Yes only a FEW things missed, but still playable. To me, THAT is doing something good for the players and WE as players benefit.
All I ask is really try to see things from another view. I realize you may speak out of anger and frustration, I get it. But know we are ALWAYS here to help the best we can. You may not like our opinions or feel different, that is fine… but please do not look at our differences as an outlet to insult us. That itself is really just not fair. I am sure you agree on that. 🙂

It doesn’t make sense to pay for cupid till you’ve got the statue. If you buy the box and get something else…you’ve gotten a new item. If you pay for cupid you get nothing…the 1k for cupid only counts if you get the statue first.

I do not have enough valentines at this point to win the cupid statue. 4 days left for cupid, 4 mystery boxes later and no statue… Is there any other way to get more valentines? I have all my characters on task around the clock to earn more valentines to earn a CHANCE at the statue.
TInyCo… Please give more options for cupids statue or more ways to earn valentines. It’s infuriating that I wont get a free character because I chose one prize over another. 😦

There is no option for me to buy him with clams. All that appears is a floating bubble over his head looking for the statue. There is no other way to unlock him. Please tell me this is a glitch and there is a “Clam Buy Out” option.

Where do I find the handmade valentines box? I haven’t won rupert from any previous quests so does this mean I don’t have this option.
I’m currently on phase 2 just have funny valentine part 13 to do, don’t know if this would affect whether I have this option either.

The Mystery Box is a part of Phase 3. So you need to complete Phase 2 (which you just did) and start the Can’t Buy Me Love questlines and you will see it pop up. You can also look in the Event Menu (heart meter icon lower right) and it eventually pops up a link there too in the tabs.

I have no idea what I’ve been doing. I’ve only got 5041 valentines. I need 300 hearts on the affection meter to get Hot Meg. Can I make it? Any tips or advice?

You can make it just keep sending characters on love dates to the cafe and theater…I just send Chris and Connie and Bonnie and Joe repeatedly on that task and the hearts build up

Finally got Cupid. At first I was worried I wouldnt be able to get his statue at Rupert´s Mistery Box. But nine attemps later (9 of 10, by the way), I finally got it. I´ll keep collecting hearts and valentines, just in case TinyCo has a surprise for the final days.

I had already passed the Cupid affection meter prize level and chosen the hate prize. What can I do now to wasn my Cupid statue since I have already passed that portion?

Your only option is to try to win it by using Rupert’s gift boxes at 1000 valentines a piece. Everything you didn’t choose will be in there, so that you have a second chance to get it.

So I just realized that, well I haven’t finished all the My Funny Valentine quests so my affection meter doesn’t move for me to get Bonnie’s prize. But, I would collect all the hate hearts and come up with a total number of 134 hearts. But after all the PDA couples disappear, I would go back to the meter, and it brings me back to 124. Is there any way to fix this? It has been happening for a couple days now

You kind of answered your own question. It will keep dropping to avoid a massive issue with having TOO many hearts for the next prize until you complete My Funny Valentine, start Can’t Buy Me Love, and have it move on to the Phase 3 prizes.

The two Clam items drop 10 Hearts.
She won’t show until you LOSE her. In other words you got to win one to get the opposite to drop in the Mystery Box.

I started trying for the hate love prizes as soon as I saw what they were. I mean a building over a statue easy choice. Oh but that building cant help you get cupid, after I made the wrong choice. This whole event has seemed like tiny co let their b-team take the lead and the dropped the ball. Man I hope I can get lucky and get the statue in the prize box. Question, should I try now before I win hot meg while theres one less prize to win or after I get her?

That’s why they made the Mystery Box so YOU can choose your own path. Then decide if you want the rest. It was all players choice as to what they went for. They aren’t responsible for people getting so far ahead that they win the Prizes blindly. Everyone knew the risk that if you go for a prize before knowing what it did, you’re changing the unforseen.
As for Meg, how fast do you earn LOVE Hearts? If it goes quickly, then just get her.

Win the prize blindly? That’s a really odd defense…very far reaching. I didnt unlock the cupid until today…i won the hate prize a couple days ago.
Are you saying that whenever we do anything in this game from now on we should wait until the last minute in case its a situation where tinyco blindly hits us with a consequence?
You do realize that right? The only way tinyco was able to allow players to blindly win a prize was to BLINDSIDE them.
Everything on this game has a time limit….the rush mentality is created by these companies because with time limits they can impose fees for catching back up..
So lets see what happened…
I blindly picked a prize having absolutely zero knowledge there could even be a consequence to picking one…then i got blindsided with information after the fact…now i can choose to purchase valentines buildings in an attempt to earn enough cards to get a statue they was blatantly the lesser of the 2 gifts i was to choose from….
You think that was all a coincidence? Lol…i dont mind pay to play…i mind getting suckered though

What she’s saying is you started going towards hate with out knowing what either prize did. As soon as they unlocked (phase 3) it was released that you need the statue for Cupid. If you were close to hate before then you went in blindly..

I just finished collecting for the Cupid statue but the insane asylum didn’t turn up in my mystery box prizes. I’m a little concerned now as I thought I understood that the opposite prize from what was won would be in the prize box for purchase. I dont know if I have enough time to reach 350 hearts for Meg and figured I would go hate heart way then purchase Meg but if she doesn’t turn up in the mystery prize box is there another way to get her?

Has anyone gotten a clam drop from getting rid of the perfume sprayers? It says it should drop valentines or clams (and materials if you don’t have Cheryl), but as often as I send Ida and Glenda on this task, I’ve never once gotten a clam drop. Any luck out there?

Ugggh im in the same boat I’ve gotten everything you can get including from the hmv mystery box and I am sitting at 25,000 and gaining 1,000 every 12 hours… I am messaging them in game so everyone else should join me, with enough people speaking up I think we might get it 😄😃😝😁😇😼🙀😹👽

I contacted tinyco, asking a long list of questions, throwing in some well deserved compliments to help “butter em up😉”
My questions included (these questions pertain to EVERYONE)-
1. grouping the valentines day characters into their own group for some free clams.
2. LAND, I don’t know about anyone else but I could use about 100% more land so I can properly design my town without it looking cluttered. I specified that the new land did not necessarily need to come with new districts but either way is nice.(I am a completionist therefore the amount of things I have to decorate with is a lot)
3. Excessive amounts of extra HMV, I know a few players are struggling on this subject but I also know there are a few players with amount that seem crazy (anywhere from 5-50k) to spend on trees and heart walkways, so why not come up with another Rupert mystery box so we can use up those extra HMV.
there answers were as such-
1. At the moment they aren’t in there own group but we’re discussing it.
2. There’s more land coming. Many of our updates add new districts along with new land, so expect quahog to expand soon!
3. I will suggest another valintines box to the team! They’re a great way of using up event currency!

Until the “suggestions” are live in the game, there is no need to post them. As far as Districts… the same. We all know with a new District comes new land, but kind of pointless to post on something that does not yet exist as everyone wants it NOW. Lol. When the new District and land hits, we will cover it fully. 😉

How on Earth have you got that many valentines!? I have been playing a lot during this event, purchased the clams + valentines offer, am progressing well with the tasks, and have bought all items in the freemium box. Have got enough left for Cupid, but will then need another 1000 for the last hate prize assuming it appears in the box (this will be easy enough). Sounds like you have just played or spent too much!

All I did was buy the item the drops 1k hmv every twelve hours on like day one of the event,thinking it be like the comic con event and others since where I was holding like 1k of the event currency by the end and couldn’t get the mystery box items.. I knew if I bought that one item at the beginning of the event I’d have enough for the mystery box at the end…. Now I’m sort of upset I bought it cuz I would’ve been fine without I i think… Hopefully they throw in another mystery box here so I can spend the remaining hmv I have

Do I understand the Cupid walkthrough correctly, in that all you need to do is send Peter and Glenda on their 12 hour tasks, along with 1000 valentines and the statue, and he is yours? No collecting 12 of these and 10 of these, etc…
