Update: There seems to be a lot of confusion about Affection Meter Prizes & this Phase. As noted in the post below, you MUST have completed My Funny Valentine Part 13 to see anything from Phase 3 (except the Goat, he’s independent of Phase 3). This includes Affection Meter Prizes. So if you’re not getting Bonnie’s prize, check to see if you’ve completed My Funny Valentine Part 13.
Also, as noted below, Cupid won’t unlock until you’ve reached Part 6 of Can’t Buy Me Love. So until that point you won’t see his bench available for repair.

Week 3 of Valentine’s Day is now live! And just in time for the Oscars, it’s time to send characters on Movie dates! Ahh the perfect date…where you don’t have to talk to each other.
Back with more as we go through it…
Note: Cupid IS Timed! Once you repair the bench and find him, you’ll have 5 days to unlock. So proceed with caution! Cupid also REQUIRES the Cupid Statue from the Affection Meter. So you MUST get the Love Prize if you want to unlock Cupid. Again…if you get the Hate prize you will not be able to unlock Cupid at this time.
IF you’re close to the hate prize…you’ll still have a chance to get it in the Handmade Valentine Box. More details on it below…but if you go for the Asylum you can still win the Statue in that box.
First thing you may (or may not notice) is some changes have been made to the PDA couples…in how they look. From TinyCo:
“Enamored Couples will feature a dark-haired man with a dark gray shirt and a blonde woman with a pink shirt. They will also have pink hearts floating around them when they stop walking. Enamored Couples will stop and kiss.
Angry couples will feature a blond man with a light purple shirt and a brunette woman with a red shirt. They will also have purple broken hearts floating around them. Angry Couples will stop and fight.”
Also…you MUST have completed My Funny Valentine Pt. 13 in order to see Phase 3….

Casaroja Move Theater- In the event area, repair for 1,000 Valentines. This will enable Move Theater Dates
Vajberry Bar and Grill- 500 Valentines, 4hr Build. Earns 10 Valentines/8hrs.
Second Chances Chapel- 75 Clams. Earns 6 Valentines, 25xp/4hrs. Always Drops Love Hearts
McCounseling Center- 75 Clams. Earns 6 Valentines, 25p/4hrs. Always drops Hate Hearts.

New Dating Options
The Casaroja Move Theater in the Event Area opens up a whole new set of dating options and prizes! Same deal as before. To send characters on dates just tap on the theater (or their task box) and pick two characters to send on a date to see their comparability. Each date lasts 4 hrs, and can earn you Love Hearts or Hate Hearts!
Special Date Combinations can also earn you special Prizes! Here’s what you can win:

For 1,000 Valentines you’ll have a chance to get items you may have missed on the Affection Meter because you went the other way! It’s also a chance to get some items from the Event Area (like the Cafe)!
Note…there is currently a glitch ongoing with the Box where it won’t let you proceed. TinyCo has been alerted and they’re working on it! A patch was pushed to fix this!

To get Cupid you’ve got to repair his Park Bench. It costs 50 Valentines and takes 4hrs. Cupid IS Timed! Once unlocked you’ll have 5 days to unlock. To unlock Cupid you’ll have to get STUFF. Here’s what you’ll need:

We don’t have that info as there is really no “Grind”. You need Valentine’s, his statue, and Characters to do a task. So… you gotta wait til you play through the questline with Handsome Peter to first unlock his bench… THEN you can see what it will cost YOU to buy him out.

New payouts for the coffee shop dates. I’ve been dropping Carter and Babs in there over and over and have been getting 5 hearts like the guide here says. The one time I’ve done it after the update, I got 7.

I’m stoked that the couples have changed to reflect which ones give love and hate but it’s too little too late for me. I don’t want two of the asylums, but I am glad we have the chance to get past prizes so I can go for the Voodoo shop and still get Hot Meg now I need to scrap up 10185 in 6 days and hope they don’t release anything else for valentines like Benedict Cumberbatch and the mystery character Bunny mentioned in an earlier comment.

Well here’s an idea… Maybe you should have went for the love hearts instead of being love hating grumps going for the hate hearts.

Hey there,
So I collected enough broken hearts to get the asylum automatically, and I also got the cupid statue through the box. (Yay!)
However, I’m not seeing the option to let me repair the bench to get cupid. So if I get the cupid statue through the valentines day box, it won’t give me the chance to unlock cupid and it’s purely just for decoration?

It is a ways along in the Questline. The item is just one of many you have to complete. Clear the questlines to get him unlocked.

hmmmm…idk what route to take lol I just spent 5,000 Valentines on 5 mystery boxes and got all the buildings and the water fountain in the event area..Now I’m thinking would it be easier to keep going and spend the rest to get Hott Meg OR not…Cupid needs 1,000 Valentines tho sooo..I didn’t know the new mystery box was FFREEMIUM until I read this post again and some comments! I could have swore the first time I looked at the pop-up it said it costed clams or some sorta thing like that!!!! *DECISIONS, DECISIONS!!!* smh haha ❤ 🙂

Okay so I don’t see the Cupid Statue in the Homemade Valentine Mystery Box? Is it because I still have a chance to get it with Bonnie? They only appear once you LOST them. In other words… if you are on prize 4 HATE… once you win it, prize 4 LOVE drops in the Mystery Box. Same with 5.

They fixeD the issue. I Just purchased everything in the handmade valentine box and its all in my inventory now. Love the website by the way. Always helpful when the new phases begin. Any word on when the next phase for district 10 will drop?

I’m already not happy about cupid. I worked to get hate hearts because I don’t care if my Quahog is decorated at all I want the buildings that produce money or other stuff. So as soon as the next episode started I got the building because I had enough hate hearts. Now it is impossible for me to get a special character because they decided you need to get this one special decoration that you get only one shot at and if you miss it your out of luck. Now I feel like I was punished because I used some strategy to play this game.

They have a freemium Mystery Box in the game now. This will give you items you misses, so you still have the chance to get the statue required.

I bought 8 boxes (blew all my valentines) and I didn’t get the cupid statue. I got ALL the other decorations. I was very disappointed to see that Morning Arousal Cafe and The Theater are just decorations…Big decorations. Ugh. I really dislike what happened here. They should have let us know that the statue would be required for Cupid.

It is quite simple… what you DON’T win goes to the Mystery Box from the Affection Prizes. So if for Prizes 1-5 you get HATE, all the LOVE Prizes will drop into the Mystery Box as you clear that level. #1 Hate won, #1 Love dropped. #2 Hate won, #2 Love dropped. #3 Hate won, #3 Love dropped… on n on til you won all of one side and as soon as one the opposite drops in the box for 1000 HM Valentine’s

Sweet that the mystery box doesn’t cost clams and that we now have the opportunity to get the liquor store, hot meg, etc., with HM Valentine’s 🙂 Love it! I’m holding off on buying any boxes until I’m sure the glitches are fixed but looking forward to buying some. I’m waiting on the mystery box until I’ve earned everything I can earn myself. I assume/hope there are some items that won’t duplicate, like Hot Meg and the Cupid Statue. I’m hoping by earning those, it will give me a chance to earn something I don’t have.
I wish I had more valentines saved up now, since I’ll only be able to afford a few chances. I’m trying to relax more about this game, though, and not feel like I need absolutely everything.

I only have 1400 hv and will have to spend 1000 to get the theater. Unfortunately I instantly got the asylum, do you think I can still get enough money to get the statue? Is their a higher chance of the statue in the box or do all the items have the same probability?

I got almost everything in the box and haven’t bought any premium items in this event, I have all the freemium buildings that earn HV and have every character that earns HV working around the clock with a week to go it is possible to earn everything.

I bought a bunch of the gazebos. At 200 HVs each they were profitable after a couple days. I had almost 7000 HVs when the update hit, all from freemium items and just playing the game.

I bought the dove cage and valentine building skins(griffen, Quagmire, etc) didnt buy much decos withe the valentines and I play alot so it wracked up quickly over the span of this event. I bought out the box and still have 8k. I play on my phone so I usually play a bit every couple hours(collect on my buildings).

I read your comments, Bunny. I am still upset because I went for the Asylum. You said we are able to get the missed ones from Mystery Box. I am wondering if this is like a ruffle. Are we betting our chances to get the missed “Cupid Statue” or is it guaranteed that we can get the missed ones… I wish I had known better for this decision.

The only items that will appear in the box for you are ones you don’t have, as well as a couple of new ones. So you’re guaranteed to get something you don’t yet have. Nothing duplicates..

I think the mystery box is WAYY to expensive. 1,000 valentines per prize?! It might be okay if there were only a couple prizes but there are ELEVEN of them. I already tried three times and didn’t get it and now I only have 400 valentines left. This is almost impossible unless you’re super lucky! I had more hate hearts than the hate prize required so I was automatically stuck with it not knowing you needed the cupid statue to get the character. I think it’s bs

Once you get the OTHER prize… you get the one that you did NOT win tucked into the Mystery Box. So… if you went for hate and the Voodoo shop, you will get Meg dropped in the Mystery Box AFTER you win it.

After the patch whenever I try to move my ‘camera’ over to my road my game locks up and keeps repeating three frames of movement in a loop (like sliding right a quarter inch, then once more, then snapping back to position one.) Sometimes I can drag away and get it back, and other things still work, but I can’t shoo perfume sprayers or click on any of the buildings my townsfolk are flocking around. Anybody else having this problem?

By narrowing my camera in, apparently my perfume sprayers have collapsed into a black hole of erratic pink and yellow lines. As long as I keep my view away from them, I’m golden. Off to report!

I’ve had that too, mines worse when I clear the sprayers, most of the time they just arc and dissappear! Annoyed clearing sprayers is part of quest line as I darent do more than one at a time. Love everything else though☺

So the fastest way to get Hot Meg is to go the Hate route and then buy her from the Heart Mystery Box. I think it only takes 150 or 175 hate vs 350 love for Meg.

Only if u have thousands of valentines to spend. Theres like 11 prizes, each 1000 valentines. U could spend like 7k valentines and get 7 prizes and have not one of them be hot meg. Is it a chance your willing to take?

Will they be adding a way to get a crapload more valentines before the event ends? (like 99,000 cookies for getting santa in the Christmas event)
If not, I only have like 4000 valentines right now and I counted 12 prizes in the mystery box. So since I went for the insane asylum, I only have a 1 in 3 shot of getting cupid.

I was sure hot meg would be 500. 350 should be no problem. Actually none of this is very difficult. As a note, heart payouts on the coffee & park dates increased. Carter & Babs pay out 7now while Nathan & Felicia now pay 5. Those are the only tasks I finished.
