Borg Phaser Battles just patched. Ore should start dropping randomly.

Sorry for the delay on this one. Last few days I have been at the Hospital with my ailing Mother. Just got home.
In true TinyCo fashion, another late night/weekend release has hit our games. TinyCo did state they were going to be dropping all sorts of new things into the games to keep players already done busy for the extra week, and busy work they did indeed drop on us. Uhura, Borg Bertram Statues, and the one thing I requested… 7 of 9 is now in our game. WOOHOO!!
Give me a bit to go through it all, pull the stats and details, and I will update this post.
In the meantime, I got a dialog between Vulcan Quagmire and Uhura that triggered a task to unlock her. Followed shortly by dialog between 7 of 9, Picard, then Starfleet Peter. This triggered a timer, but I will need to clarify if that is for her purchase or ONLY for the questline it triggered itself. Will report once I get that clarified.
We now have TWO new Characters in our games. One from Star Trek: The Original Series and one from Star Trek: Voyager. Add to that mix some additional Borg Bertram Statues and there are now MORE options to spend your additional Dilithium and Materials on in the Replicator… or your Clams if you so choose. So what can each one offer? Let’s take a look.
FYI… No Voices on either one of the gals as of yet in my game. Will update if that is how they were intended once I get clarification. Both are now voiced. See their profiles for some phrases.
NEW CHARACTER
Seven of Nine: 265 Clams, Always drops Dark Matter (Let Her Hair Down, 18hrs)
Once you purchase her, a questline will be triggered. Seventh Heaven
Seven of Nine came along in the Star Trek: Voyager Series with a female Captain Janeway. She was born Annika Hansen, but the Borg got to her and had assimilated her. (Similar to Picard becoming Locutus.) Her and two other Borg’s crash landed on a Planet and were severed from the Borg hive mind. The away team from Voyager later discovered her. She continued to struggle with turning back to humanity, but did stay on with the crew. You can see more about her all throughout the Star Trek: Voyager Series.

She was an emissary from the Borg to help Voyage’s crew develop a weapon, made from Borg Nanobots to defeat the Borg’s new enemy from fluitic space, species 8472. In exchange for the weapon, Voyager was given safe passage through Borg Space while lost in the Delta quadrant. In the end, the Borg tried to double cross Capt Janeway and she returned the favor by stealing 7 0f 9 from them.
The bio you wrote pertains to a Borg call Hugh, a name given to him by Geordi La Forge.

You must not have watched the series that much… because that brief description is pretty much what happened to her. She was born a lil girl and captured with her family when their ship was exposed. She did crash and was separated from the Borg with other Borgs. She was later rescued by the Voyager Crew (you even pointed that out). And she did continue to have to battle her humanity throughout Voyagers Series. Here’s a few to watch. There is many many many more. 😉

Trying to get Uhura as I will not be able to get Kirk. I am not able to play that often and only once was able to beat level 3 Bertram. I prefer Uhura over the Joe “Pike” costume – well as its a full character and not “only” a costume…

Glad I waited with spending all my ore until the (formerly) last day of the event, so I did not spend all my green ore on borg cubes as I had planned. So now I just need 8 more green ores for Uhura, which should not be a problem.
Don’t think I can earn enough for the Golden Bertram Statue though, but we’ll see.
Spent 21 phaser energies on Borg Cube Battles, got zero green ore. So I’ll hold off using them, until maybe the drop rates get changed once more.
Oh, and I got Seven of Nine with my remaining clams.

I had 137 phaser energy. I hit the cube 3 times every pass. It got me one ore total. Ore is going to be tough for uhura.

Any ideas on what is going to happen to the Star Trek costume / character animations after the Enterprise goes away? I’m going to miss Picard’s facepalming, Worf trying on hats, Riker getting on the chair, and Quagmire’s….intimate Borg massage.

Aargh!, I’m such a fool! I crafted Uhura and right after the game froze and I kept seeing Consuela. I forced closed it, came back to see if she was still there and she hadn’t been crafted. When I went to craft her again I crafted another Data factory! It took forever to get those crystals and I stupidly craft the wrong item!
Just had to vent. Thanks ladies for all your hard work 🙂

Just to update, I contacted TinyCo and the lovely Breanna helped me and gave my back all my crystals and I was able to get Uhura! It helped my crazy brain relax! Thanks TinyCo and especially Breanna. They really didn’t need to help on my screw up but they did and I really appreciate that!

In 3 days I will have dark matter enough to get only one between Capitain Pike costume for Joe or Uhura, I cannot decide (yet), what would you pick, considering the event will almost be over by then?

My personal feelings… I always go for ANOTHER Character. Costumes for the main Characters I rarely see as the main Character is normally in their own skin doing tasks and questlines. That is my thoughts anyway.

Well, I guess I’m done with my quest for stuff. My game has not been able to load due to an error ‘decoration_startrekf in buildings ‘ for over a week now. I have written tiny co four times with no reply and after spending hundreds of dollars spicing up my little city with characters and buildings it really makes me sad that they don’t have the time to let me know anything. This site has made the whole game much more enjoyable. Thanks for everything while it lasted.

I finally got Kirk. Now to work on Uhura. Outside of the impossible task of getting Synthesizer Ore she shouldn’t be a problem. I still have close to 8,000 Crystals though I’ve been delaying getting Joe. Even after I’m close to halfway to getting what I need for Uhura. And if all else fails I’ll put it into the Rupert Gifts.
Also I just might get Seven Of Nine just through Clams earned during this event. Lois has been dropping them like crazy going on Borg Cube trips and all I need is 115 Clams more. That’s only 23 more times. If I do get very close, like under 50 Clams, I’ll just spend $3 to buy her.

Can confirm that shooting Borg Cubes drops Synthesizer Ore… just got 3 in this manner. If it helps anyone, I found that they seemed to drop when I was hitting MORE than one target, particularly the small asteroids. Also, on one of the drops I didn’t even have to destroy the cube, just dropped on first hit. But, be aware that the drop rate seems to be uncommon/rare.

Just when I thanked Tinyco for extending the event they go and **** up the event again by adding new impossible characters to get. Okay, I could get 7 of 9 if I wanted to spend real money to buy clams but there is just no way possible for me to get Uhura. The synthesizer ore drop the entire event has been utterly horrible. I only finally got Kirk because of the extension and lowered requirements. Its just not possible for me to even get halfway to the 50 needed before the event ends since Bonnie only drops them about 1 out of 5 times, Troi and Quagmire even less, and the super rad cargo bays even less frequently. I dropped 10,000 dilithium crystals on mystery boxes yesterday and will have at least 10,000 more by the end of the event so those aren’t an issue. Nor are dark crystals since I’ve got plenty of those. But synthesizer ore from the start are next to impossible to get.

How are you getting all these dilithium crystals? Thanks to the extend I can still get Stewie, Picard and Kirk. Problem is; I’m now 2 items shy of unlocking both Stewie and Picard. However, I only have 3000 dilithium while I need 4000+8000 for both.
I have been grinding non stop and have all the other non-clam stuff. The dilithium payout is just very weak. I used to get tons of crystal thanks to the tribbles but those times lay in the past 😦

I have personally been farming the borg cube, it only takes 1 hour and it drops either clams, nothing or crystals, mostly crystals myself it may differ for you, you do have to sacrifice the questlines a bit seeing as you need peter, lois and quag but I’ve been able get at least 5 thousand crystals per day and with the clams I won from the borg cube I just sped up the time and got even more tries per day.

Well i assume these characters weren’t even going to show up since the event should be over. I thinkbeggars can’t be choosers and we should just be appreciative that it was extended so we could get what we were hoping for. And if you get extra characters cool, if not, cool.

Its a cool idea, but I feel duped releasing this after the box for 500 dilithium a pop. I spent all my event currency on them because usually that means nothing new is coming. Oh well trying to collect enough dilithium killing bertman again. Guess I won’t finish the story.

Its best to have 2 characters (Troi & Worf) task end 5-10 minutes before the hour is up with the third (Quagmire) after the hour, so you’ll never run out of Borgs. I’ve run out of Borgs many times because for some reason it isn’t set up to where when 3 characters are removing Borgs the game spawns 3 Borgs to replace them.

Thanks 😉 This is actually the first time I ran out of Borgs that I can think of. Maybe because I hadn’t really needed Ore much, since had a stockpile from room swapping all the time during the first few phases of the event. Also because I did not build multiple Romulan Bars like many others. Had a pretty strong feeling Ore would come into play later. Thankfully, now just need about 20 to finish everything up.

WTD: It *says* you can get synth ores from the Borg Cubes, but I’ve tried 5x at different times of day, used up 15 phaser energy, and NO synth ores! TinyCo seriously needs to make them drop every time, if they’re gonna make us get 50 of them for Uhura alone!

Out of curiosity I wonder if I missed something. A lot of people are commenting about a lack of green ore.. is there something that cost a lot of green ore that you spent it on? I cant think of anything ive spent it on besides upgradEs. We’ve been able to collect green ore since week 1 or 2 of this event.. I have more green ore than anything Else? I’ve sent bonnie on the task every 6 hours.. she’s been the best at dropping it I think. am I missing something? Lol. I don’t buy decorations unless a quest calls for it.. maybe that’s it? Idk!

Many people, myself included, lamented how Bonnie wouldn’t drop ore for days at a time. Perhaps that’s the reason.

I made a bunch of Romulan Ale Bars in the replicator, since they give dilithium (only 20 per 16hr but if you have 18 of them, it adds up). Did that a few days ago when they said to spend our stuff or lose it…then they put out Uhura. Grrrr!

And yeah, WHY did they change the sampled voices of Scotty and Kahn? I guess it must be the rights issue? Bunny? Alissa? I presume we’re not getting Bones (DeForrest Kelly) for similar reasons.

The sound clips were just place holders. I wouldn’t have minded them but many complained her and elsewhere their quality. I’m not sure the legalities on the use of original voices, but I’m sure they had to go through many handlers to get what they could.
I just know in my personal dealings the struggle to get one phrase approved let alone 5 other 10.

The synthesizer ore says it can be had from destroying the flying Borg cube, but in the last 15 times I have destroyed it, not one ore has dropped from it.
Troi and Quagmire have been after the Borg constantly, but without them dropping from the flying Borg cube also, I fear I won’t get enough to take care of the quest line (data’s factory) without sacrificing either Pike Joe or Uhura.

Stopped fighting Bertram, he goes back to clawed, new stuff comes, need 255 more dark matter now. Yeah, that sounds about right for my life. Ughhhh. Well, hopefully if they do release more characters (where’s Wesley?) no more dark matter is needed. But as of right now, the amount needed, albeit likely unattainable for me to get everything.
On those lines, why not make another boss that drops 75 dark matter? Yeah, that’s all.

The extension allowed me to get joes costume as well as kirk as I wasn’t going to have time for both, I promptly then stopped collecting anything or battling Bertram and worked on quests… Boy do I feel stupid now as I have to start on level 1 Bertram!

I love that they added new stuff for the extra week, though i think that’s a lot of clams for a non voiced character. Whoopie Goldberg couldn’t have been cheap to cast and she cost less.
I do hope that this is a teaser for next year, maybe a voyager event. Cmon, captain proton skins for tom paris and harry kim, janeway having an action to “violate prime directive for coffee”, the doctor to switch himself off..

My main concern for getting Uhura, is getting the synthesizer ores. Dark matter and Dilithium is not a problem. I’ve just spent about 30-35 phaser energies attacking the Borg cubes and none of them dropped any synthesizer ores. I’ve contacted TinyCo to confirm if the drops are working or not. Just wish they made the synthesizer ores easy to drop just like the transporter energy…

If you remember from a past interview they said that they always have more content than they end up releasing for events due to time, but plan on eventually adding at later events.
I guarantee these were drops initially cut from the event due to time. Stuff that was created and just not implemented.

Agree and Disagree. They always have an event currency Mystery box i. The last week, the fact they didnt release it means they knew for at least a week it would be extended + there were no pop ups saying “its the last week, dont forget to spend your stuff” until the extension. Which again makes me think they knew it would be extended.
I agree some of the stuff was planned but because of time constraints they werent going to release it (Uhura).
7 of 9 makes no sense to me though. Tng and tos were the only star treks even referenced this whole event, why did they all of a sudden add a voyager character with the quest description “the Voyager CREW join Quahog.”. Makes me think she was stored for if they did another star trek event and they wanted a clam character for no reason so just added her now. No idea why they skipped Crusher mind… His mum is there and he is a pretty main character everyone knows but nope, just ignored this event.
Also the gold statues, I wish they had them in every event, I like collecting them as a reminder of what Events I completed. But they always cut them because of time :(. Good to see they got added this time.
So I agree some of the new stuff was going to be cut, but I know almost for certain that they knew it would be extended at least a week before.

D’oh! Nothing against Voyager but I was really hoping for some DS9 love. Would love to have had Sisko and/ or a Defiant deco and maybe an appearance by the Cardassians.
Also the 7 of 9 task implies there are more to come from Voyager(?)

Although Seven-of-Nine is from the Voyager series, she was added to fit the “Borg invasion” theme of this event. If the Dominion and shapeshifters had invaded our game then we’d get DS9 characters. Star Trek will likely be an annual event so maybe the Terok Nor outpost will arrive next year.

I’m glad they added Uhura but I keep looking her going WTH?! They made her head freakishly huge. Is it me, or is her head just way too big? And the boots, they don’ fit her right lol. They need to be tighter against her skin. I always notice the shoes. Haha. Poor Uhura. 😦 Maybe I will msg. TinyCo and see if they can fix her. She doesn’t look so good.

It’s cool they added new stuff for those of us who were finished but I was finished Wednesday and started using my extra materials and stopped battling Bertram because I don’t like waking up every four hours each night so as not to loose his level
I therefore and missing a lot of energies and i was pouring all the Dillithium i had into the mystery box
Before this new stuff came my plan was to get everything from the mystery box then go back to making more borg cubes to add to the five i already have assimilating my Quahog :p lol I might just ignore the new stuff and continue on that course
Also, is anyone else’s borg cubes in the space battle not giving the synthesizer ore? Mine so far are not

I thought the event was pretty much done since TC rolled out Ruperts mystery box, and the extension for playing catch up (for those that needed it) and I ummmm kinda got click happy and spent all but 1,000 DC.
I just had to get lots of huggable fur balls! Oh, and a red shirt guy (Still trying to get one) and I made a few extra Borg cubes, AND NOW I find out I needed the DC and other gems for NEW items e.g., character and replicator stuff! Just my flipping luck lol.
Looks like I need to get back to giving Bertrim MANY more beat downs plus some!

I think it might be important for me to advise everyone that I think theres more characters coming, I got 7 of 9 straight away, but theres other characters I would’ve rather seen than her if im honest. But her quest line stated “the voyager crew” which is giving me a clue that more of the voyager crew will appear.
Uhura is a somewhat kick in the teeth as I used my resources on Kirk but id rather get Uhura than Joes Pike outfit. I think im gonna only be able to grind Uhura that’s it.
Btw I could be wrong about the more crew surprises, but its just a feeling I get that theres more characters/replicator stuff to get after this as theres 5 days left.

There is no way I’m going to get Uhura because of poor Synthesizer drop rates. I still need 10 to get Kirk, so 50 in 4 days is impossible. It looks like I’m going to have to resort to the swap room trick where the game gives you a complementary drop for making the room.

I am glad for new stuff, but I thought that the event was ending so I spent lots of Dilithium on boxes and other decorations. I still want some items from the mystery boxes, and now all of the new items. I was going to add some donuts to TSTO, so I’ll probably add some clams to buy the new character and keep some for speeding up battles. I need to beat Bertram a lot, but thanks to having my 2nd operation in 3 months, I won’t be able to go to college, so I’m more likely to be able to get the items. Now I just need to be prepared to spend a lot of clams speeding up actions and buildings as well as grinding tasks to get the last materials to get everything that I can.

I think it’s nice that these were added. I know many people wanted something to spend their resources other than just crystals on, and so they paid attention to the requests. If people already spent all their crystals on the mystery box but have most of the other materials, they now have something to do this week. If they have none of the other materials, they should still be able to get some things, like the giant golden tribble, which is more than they could get if the content wasn’t released,
