Well someone turned up the heat in Quahog! No it’s not the crazy heat wave we’ve had here on the East Coast…nope there’s fire in our tiny Quahogs!
With the all new firefighter event there’s brush fires to put out, house fires to clear, fire creatures to battle and lots and lots of always drops!
Of course it wouldn’t be an event without a TON of questlines…so let’s take a look at all the freemium questlines you can expect during this first week of the Firefighters Event!
Fire in the Hole Pt. 1
Chris starts
Extinguish 10 Brushfires- Tap 10 Brushfires to clear them
Completed Task Earns $65, 45xp

Since I got fireman Chris already and his task line is finished, I’m trying to decide after I unlock the 3rd pole (just need 1more axe) if I should start hording gas-Cans or start earning jaws-of-life.
The real question is what will semous need when he gets released,
I’m guessing it he will take gascans & JawsOfLife and he won’t be as easy to get as Chris was.

Ugh. My kiddo accidentally hit the 4th firepole buy bttpn and blew 150 clams. Now I am back to 21 which means I will never be able to get Cleveland. Any way to get those clams back?

Message them from your game. It is completely up to them what they do, but I always use this thought when writing to anyone… “kindness goes a long way”. So just ask nicely. 😉

Im finished with all quests so want sheamus now. I have no motivation to earn hats or jaws of life as those boxes give no new characters. Infact both boxes have the same content which im sure is wrong.

No. It’s right intentionally. (See main post)
It’s offering option to get items for a premium AND a freemium player. Premiums get drops from Fire Dog Brian and Fire Chief battles, both clams costs. Freemium get Jaws of Life from Fire Captain battles.
So a Mystery Box that is accessible for ALL instead of just clams. Pretty cool idea. 😉

Really disappointed that Brian is a premium character. I have done all the other tasks and am slightly, no wait, really bored of this quest and it’s only a few days in. 😔

I’m mostly enjoying this event. I like the amount of questlines & love the guaranteed drops! Bit annoyed about the false advertisement of Fire Dog Brian but I’ve sent them an in game message regarding that. So far 7/10 I think 🙂

I, too, am bummed that Firefighter Brian costs clams. I spent my clams on opening another fire pole thinking I’d need to stock up on items for Brian. Whoops.
I did unlock Chris and just finished the final task, so just waiting for Seamus.

Not really feeling the love for this event. Seems like a lot of work for some skins we’ll forget about a month from now. Better than nothing, but it’s not keeping me up at night.

The firestarter doesn’t like kids. Keeps torching the playground, the preschool, and the junior high. And yet pervy Herbert’s house remains untouched ((I would let it burn).
Jerome attracts arsonists. Twice he has been trapped in a burning building (the marine center and the yacht club).
Is it my imagination or does the Burn Me Once House put itself out if you ignore the flames? It didn’t ignite when I first placed it (as it is supposed to do), but I think that was because there were already fires elsewhere. I have it right next to the firefighter training academy, and I’m reasonably sure I ignored the fact that it was on fire the last time it went up in flames because I needed to focus on other fires. I figured it was already gutted anyway. But the next time I came into the game, the flames were out. Did the trainees get worried about the fire next door and give me a freebie?

In the past… Latchers change buildings after a certain amount of hours. These appear to be similar. They jump to another location if left too long.

That explains why I’ve had a feeling that other buildings put their own fires out sometimes. I was only sure of Burn Me Once since I very deliberately let it continue burning. I was about to start making lists of burning buildings to make sure I wasn’t losing it entirely. Thank you for confirming that although my steel trap of a mind rusted long ago, it hasn’t entirely disintegrated yet.

I’ve unlocked Chris and opened the third pole. I’m at the point of building up gas cans, which means, I’m using 12 extinguishers every hour. However, I’m only getting 4 brushfires every 2 hours. What has been your experience? Is there a specific spawn rate for the brushfires? I did check my current version (1.8.5). Also sent this to TinyCo. But, I think they’re mad at me. I told them Elaine gave me a question to ask them.

Hmmm. I know that the amounts vary by player. That’s what they told me. I have seen on average 5-6 popping up at a time in my game when they appear. At first it seemed like every 5 mins. Now that I have got Chris and completed the questlines, it seems maybe a lil longer. But I am always getting a lot. I do go a few hours not in my game, so that may happen.
I have noticed that they appear one over another also. I don’t have many sidewalks in my town, so that may be a factor of the overlap. When I do get them after not being in my town for a few hours (takes a few minutes for them to pop up) then they keep coming til the MAX of 12 hits my town.

Thanks for your kind thoughts. It’s just how my mind works. Do all I can to help all I can. Or at least until Alissa yells at me to stop working so hard and has to lock me out of the site to get me to stop working. (YES, she WILL do it too!. It’s why I adore her. We watch out for one another. 😉 )

Sometimes the wildfires are so close to a burning building that it’s hard to pick them out from the building flames. You have to look for the tall column of smoke that looks more well defined than building smoke. Just to make us work for our fire extinguishers.

Mine started out like that too, but now I never have more than 1 fire at a time, and when I put it out, I don’t see another for an hour or two. That rate isn’t going to make it possible for me to progress on this. I just did unlock the 3rd fire pole last night and as of this morning I need everything but the suspenders for Chris — I *was* OK on fire extinquishers until I started very rapidly depleting them for lack of getting new ones. Still need almost all of of the gas cans and almost all of the axes. Drop rates keep consistently killing me on these events!!

Arrgh!! I put out the one and only brush fire this morning at 7 AM and collected my one fire extinguisher. It’s now 11:24 and I haven’t seen another brush fire since. I’m about to completely run out of fire extinguishers with my next batch of firemen in an hour (I’ll have enough to make 2 of them, leaving one pole that can only be used to make a chief), and after that I’m SOL. Yikes. Looks like I’m about to be dead in the water as far as this event goes.

Woohoo! Mystery solved! This is what I get for having a huge town which is a jumble of buildings wherever I can jam them. I thought I had eliminated all of the pieces of street except for one strip in a very open area to make this kind of event (and the Star Trek event) easier to manage, but there was this one tiny square of street hiding behind a large building, and all of my brushfires were concentrated on that one strip except for one occasional straggler which might make it to the big strip now and then. The building was large enough that the smoke was even obscured. I just happened to see one little bit of movement at the top, a plume of one smoke that was barely peeking over the top and a few pixels of it moving enough that it got my attention. Now I’ve collected all of those and killed that street piece and they’re popping up regularly where I’d been expecting all this time. Now I have some catching up to do because I had just exhausted my supply completely.

Same here!! If even that many. At the rate I’m getting brushfires now, I’m quickly depleting my supply of fire extinguishers and I expect to completely run out later today and will find that extra pole to be useless since I’ll only be able to make a single firefighter every 2-4 hours. I still need a bunch of stuff and at this rate I’ll be lucky to get just Chris before the event ends.
I’ve contacted support but I’ve never in the past gotten a response from support whenever something like this happened.

I was lucky and was able to pair up Fire In The Hole Pt. 5 and Hotter Than Hades Pt. 2, so instead of creating 12 Captains I only had to do 7 to complete both.

Hi. So i take it after you have unlocked sexy fire man chris then that’s it for the event? You need clams to unlock fire dog brain wel you do on my phone. I don’t really see the point in the event if u need clams to get any further. You look at tapped out and they got a event but u don’t need donuts so u can keep the hame going. I’m very disappointed in family guy they bring all these new buildings out but no where to put them coz there is no land. So disappointed in fam guy, whats the point in the event if u gota buy clams to get u further with the event.

Here’s something TinyCo could do for all of us, make the Quahog Unemployment Office building a lot lot bigger, we’ve all got so many redundant characters roaming around that they’re going to need somewhere to go 🙂

It’s a tedious event. In disappointed that Brian wound up being a premium. He is the only one I really wanted. I got a ton with star trek though so it’s ok and I am looking forward to the next event. Wish this one was over.

I’ve enjoyed it so far…took another commenters I believe suggestion, training just simple firefighters which only take 1hr all day long and sending the longer task of next level firefighters over night. I have finished all the questlines above, and have firefighter Chris. I must admit, I was looking forward most to Brians skin, and very sad it is clams. I wanted to earn it. Other than that, items dropping nicely.

Overall this whole event has been a disappointment. The jokes are stale and the activities boring.

I have just had a new pop-up in the game which explains the material earning methods which should help anyone confused. It also says that you need materials for Firefighter Chris and Seamus, so Seamus should be freemium. It was expected I guess, given that Brian cost clams.
In addition to my buildings yesterday, the Bird Sanctuary and Old Timey Log Cabin were both on fire in my Quahog and they are right next to each other. I am in the middle of earning items for Olivia as j recently entered district 11, Vinny and Stewie are going to go back to prehistoric times, and Stewie’s current task is to learn how to make fires, maybe he is responsible for all of these fires! I really hope that the building he comes out of when he is finished then becomes locked by a fire. 😛

You can’t get Brian’s unless you’ve saved up 210 clams. So far, Chris’s costume is easily achievable. Seamus’s hasn’t release yet, so can’t say for sure on that one.
