TinyCo decided to drop a pretty cool update on us. Looks like I better put on my Zoot Suit and grab my Tommy Gun, cuz it’s about to go all Gangster up in here. 😉
In order to have the Update Launch, go to your App Market and download the 1.9.0 Version of the app. For those that experienced the “Idle” Consuela Error Pop Up, please force close and restart the app to clear it out. You will also need to be in district 3 and have Al’s unlocked as well.
The FatFather/ Mobster Event will End THURDSAY JULY 9TH @3PM PACIFIC TIME!!!
So far we have seen it on iOS, nothing in Google Play just yet so hang in there. Keep Checking. It is in Google now, may have to search or restart device to locate it.

TinyCo has dropped a whole lot of crime into our silly lil games. Lots to do, lots to look at, and this is just week one. Let’s take a look at the Basics…
Peter will kick things off as far as Questlines introducing you to the Event. Mob Mentality.

COOKIE COUNTER
This will be in the Top Center of your game. Cookies will be the Event Currency and used for many purchases so keep an eye on them.
EVENT MENU
Tapping on the Don Corleone Image in the lower Right Corner will take you to the Main Event Menu. There you can see all the Basics for the Entire Event.
Here is where you will see the Event Countdown Timer, Current Cookie Count, Featured Items for the Week, Basic How To, and Quick Link to in game FAQ.
We will have more on this in a separate post.
TROPHY ICON
This will directly link you to the Leaderboards. They are not active just yet, not til Monday. Once they go live, all actions prior WILL be counted into the totals. Your “MOB STATUS” is impacted by the Fedoras you collect and more. We will have more of a rundown on this in a separate post.

EVENT AREA
Over to the far right center of your game, you will see the same area reserved for Events now filled with many new and cool looking items. As in previous Events, all may not be in play right now but will be put into use as the Event Progress each week. More detailed info on each section in separate post, but here are the basics.
Here are some of the items you will see~
Copahavana: This is Don’s Nightclub. It is where you will hire the Goons needed to move up in the Event and go after your Rivals. The first Goon will cost 15 Cookies to Hire. It will take 30 minutes for them to be available. You will have to wait 30 minutes for the first to finish before a 2nd will start progressing automatically, and so on. You can hire up to 3 at a time to keep in progression. Or use Clams to speed the process. As you buy more RV’s you can increase your Goon Capacity of how many you can hire at a time by 3 per RV.
Sports Car: Not in use yet, will update when unlocks
Chihuahua Throne: Not in use yet, will update when unlocks
Mansion: Unlocks after Part 6 Mob Mentality. You will be asked to Upgrade the Mansion in Part 6, at which point you will see the PG area. Lol. Upgrading the Mansion is similar to Upgrading Levels in previous Events. As you get to the Next Level, more items launch into the game. Right now, it shows Cleveland Jr & Luchadors for Hire as the Next Phase 2. (Unlocks June 11th)
Brian Statue: Not in use yet, will update when unlocks
Stewie Statue: Not in use yet, will update when unlocks
CONSUELA’S SAFE HOUSE
This unlocks after Part 6 Mob Mentality, You will get a pop up telling you about her Safe House, once you tap “Ready” you will see an additional plot in the Event Area open up that looks like a Warehouse. It will have a GIANT ! over the Entrance.
Tapping on it, you will notice there is an Obstacle in the way you will need to clear in order to progress inside the area.
- “The Pinata Obstacle”: You will need TWO Goons to unlock it. (Goons at Copahavana Night Club). +10 Fedoras & 3 Mexican Candy (For Diabeto)
- “The Vicious Chihuahuas Obstacle”: You will need THREE Bags of Dog Food to unlock it. (Dog Food from Make Mort Retreat Cowardly- Uncommon) +10 Fedoras
- “The Forklift Obstacle”: You will need THREE Goons to unlock it. (Goons at Copahavan Night Club) +15 Fedoras & 3 Mexican Candy (For Diabeto)
Once you pass all 3 Obstacles, you will see the Sparkling Forklift loaded with a pallet of Lemon Pledge ready to tap on the Check Mark. Once you tap it, you will see the info about the Raid. How defeating Kingpin Consuela will earn you even MORE items.

- Stars: Bad Cockroaches
So you will again see 3 Obstacles in the way to get the next “RAID” complete. More details in another post coming.
COOKIE TRUCKS
These pop up around Mob Mentality Part 3 and will be driving all over your streets of Quahog. Tapping on one will trigger a pop up letting you know you need to hire Goons as well as showing the count of how many you currently have available (#/1). Still verifying Spawns on them, much like previous events they will most likely vary by Player. In my town, I saw 5 right away. Remember to Train Goons in the Night Club to attack them.
My Payout was 5 Fedoras & 25 Cookies for taking one down.
Remember, the Goons are in the Copahavana Nightclub for Hire. 15 Cookies each and 30 minutes (one at a time) to process.
CHARACTER TASKS
Take a look around as you will see there are many of those prior Event Characters that will be helping with the drops (like Star Trek ones). A complete list coming soon of those that will help. So if you got some in storage, now is a time to check.
Star Trek Characters dropping Fedoras may have been a glitch, clarifying that now along with WHO is supposed to help on the drops.
UPDATE: Star Trek Characters dropping Fedoras (Mob Rep) WAS a glitch. So you will not see them pay out.
BASIC RUNDOWN
Your goal for the Event will be to collect Cookies and Fedoras along with training goons to take down Rival Gang Cookie Trucks & Safe Houses. This will help you not only gain items within the game, but also on the Leaderboards.
After Mob Mentality Part 1, Here Comes the Don will trigger asking you to Become the Fatfather. Quagmire will start Part 2 of Mob Mentality. Peter Part 3 of Mob Mentality where you will need to earn 25 Cookies (prior earned will not count)
That is the basics for now. More still to come as we play through it all. There is a LOT of really cool stuff. WOOHOO! So keep an eye out on the site for more posts and details coming soon.

It’s funny how they substituted drugs for cookies. It actually makes sense why Diabeto and (possibly) Cleveland Jr. are in this event as characters. Cookies are pretty fattening after all. 😉

You know what would be nice? A list of what characters will be needed and what ones are useless so I can put them away. Also I basically just had to put all the stuff I earned from the last two events away to make room for this event. that is a good reminder of why I shouldn’t spend any money on clams

This is AMAZING! I was hoping that they’d release yet another event that rewarded us with buildings and other placeable items to put in the already crowded and limited space that we have in the game. Totally got my wish!

So let’s see, i guess give an inch take a mile. This leaderboard means only 5000 players can hope to get Corleone no matter what, no exceptions. They probably won’t even allow clam purchase for the character after the event.

I heard people saying that their game won’t load because it has an error loading “clevelandJr”! If I recall, he had some shady thing going at some point in the show. Can’t remember if it was for Godfather.

I’m curious how the leaderboard prizes will work. It looks like if you’re ranked in a particular range, you get that prize. But do you get all prizes below your rank as well? Can’t wait to see… this is looking pretty fun.

This is ridiculous another big event and no more land, I have no more space what so ever this is getting silly! I contacted Tinyco not long ago about the lack of new land and was told they’d be more released with a new event but alas nothing. Seriously beginning to get fed up now with this game, more land is needed Tinyco need to get their act together! Is anybody else getting fed up with this!? 😤

Thank you Bunny for the reply and I can see what your saying I do need to be patient but it’s been a really long time since we got land and that wasn’t much no where near enough I’ve been on this game since the beginning and spent quite a bit of money ( something I won’t be doing any more) and don’t see why I should have to put buildings away I’ve worked to get! I’ve had a response from Tinyco with regards to land and alls they have said was they would pass it on, I explained there are many gamers needing more land and the response was land gets released with districts not events so I won’t be holding my breath for land, Tinyco just don’t seem to be listening, more land should have been released before this big event began in my opinion that is just common sense!

First imoression, I like the look of the event and the fact that the Star Trek characters are involved (even if only in a small way).
Though there is one thing that looks stupid too me. The leaderboard prizes. Heres the problems I can see happening (unless they change it a bit)
1) the top places will be taken up by cheaters and reviewers (like yourselves, who need to spend a lot of money to help us out :P) practically making it impossible for ‘normal’ players to get any of the griffin houses. On top of that the freemium players have nothing to aim for really as their place will mostly be decided by how many people buy the clam buildings that produce cookies
2) you can only get 1 prize. Say you want Stewie, that means you cant get any other prize (including the godfather) and if you’re going to well you’ll have to slow down your progress to stay in the right ranks. Which seems like the exact opposite of what TinyCo should be trying to get us to do
What I (might just be me xD) would prefer is what the simpsons did, which was a community prize. Where instead of working against each other to get 1 prize, everyone works together to get as many as possible. Right now they are promoting everyone to keep their strategies to themeselves so you have the best chance of getting higher up. Which again, seems to me the exact opposite of what they should be aiming for.
In short
-Cheaters will win the best stuff
-promotes not talking about the game+maybe making you force yourself to slow down
-freemium players have nothing to aim for, it will be decided for them
Again, thats just my first impression on the leaderboard prizes. Maybe I’ve got the wrong of the stick or tinyco will fix it.

Let me help with those thoughts, there is SPECIFIC details on the Leaderboards (more to come when it’s live) that they will be monitoring “cheaters” and if there are players showing tendancies of “cheating” they will actually be banned from the Leaderboards.
No worries, they do listen and are weary of all those concerns and are completely addressing them. 🙂

Normally iphone games leaderboards are full of cheaters making them useless so its good to know they’ll be checking.
Funny that the thing most people were happy about ( old characters actually helping) turned out to be a glitch and got stopped. I think everyone was excited to see they had finally listened. Just waiting for the next event with a double land glitch xD
I like the look of this event. Its good to see they tested the new mechanic out before the event (Hiring firemen/goons) instead of coming up with a great idea but then taking a week to fix it (like in the star trek event). Hopefully this event goes smoothly 😛

Ugh! Another month long event so soon? I like events and all, but not one after another..I am still kinda new to this game and trying to work on other stuff..this doesn’t help when I am more focus on an event trying to get all from it where I won’t be able to later on :(.

I have been playing since the start and I’ve learned that 90% of all event items are useless after the event. also most events will only use the first 10/15 characters. Which you probably already have or close too which means nothing is vital too get.
So my advice would be if you like something in the event (ex. Character or building) , go for it, put everyone on the tasks etc.
If you’re not too intrested in the god father just play the main game and put the spares on the tasks. Anything you get is a bonus.
If you’re like me and want to collect everything in the game, then like me you’ll learn thats impossible. If you play a lot you can get all the freemium stuff but TinyCo have a LOT of premium characters/buidings so you’ll likely always miss out on something. For instance consuelas costume will probably be hard to get for fremium players and many will likely miss out. I used to hate that but now I’m used to it and unless I love the show/film I’m not too bothered about missing the main prizes anymore 😛 oh and you’ll never have enough land to put all the stuff down anyway haha.
At this point its just becoming a wall of text, so I’ll just finish it off with, just relax and play, if you like the game you’ll eventually catch up :). (Well until you reach the brewery/blimp they take ages haha)

Still no new land? Where am I going to put everything that I’m going to get in the event? Already have all of the Star Trek crap crammed into a corner.
I really hate this game sometimes. How can ‘Tapped Out’ have a huge amount of land and keeps adding more, but we haven’t had a new plot in ‘TQFS’ in months.
Spend a little less time on events, guys, and a little more on your game being able to run without crashing when adding something as trivial as land.

I’ve been blowing up my land after every event and just putting out the main buildings to keep the world moving. I love having a beautiful Springfield in TSTO but for some reason I don’t get into it here. I think I got tired of chasing event items down on my carefully placed streets.
I guess I’m just emotionally dead inside. Lol. I do enjoy earning all the stuff, though.

I am unable to connect, despite closing and opening the app again. getting the “could not connect to server” error, and seems to be no way around it. Playing from Europe if that has any bearing…. help 😦

I “hired” a goon to go after the cookie trucks – the goon came to life after 30 minutes and he’s wandering around in my town flailing at nothing – where are these cookie delivery trucks?

In the start, just the questlines will help. As you unlock more and more and progress you will get more opportunities to get them. Like in Raids and Cookie trucks.

I addressed this with another player, they will be monitoring the Leaderboards for “fair play”. Those abusing it will be banned. They have many thoughts and concerns of the Leaderboards in mind when they set them up. 🙂

It isn’t just about cheaters. Worldwide leaderboards where the winners receive useful prizes are vile.
Even if no one cheats at all, we all must now compete against the handful of teens and college students who have an ungodly amount of free time, and can play the game 22 hours a day. And, as Matthew pointed out, it becomes a contest of who’s willing to spend the most clams. (High score tables in 80s arcade games ceased to be interesting once the games let players pay their way to high scores.)
Also, take a moment to consider, mathematically, what it means to be in the top 100 scorers (or even the top 1,000) in a game played by *millions*. It’s an absurd, virtually unobtainable goal.
Leaderboards can be fun, to show off your progress to your friends. Showing off decos or other bling can also be fun. But when a leaderboard ranking is a way to get a game advantage, such as winning skins and characters, it’s just a constant source of frustration and resentment.
This dramatically reduces the quality of the game in my eyes, and I’m sure it will only get more prevalent in future events.

There is still an Individual Prize board that you will NOT have to compete against anyone but yourself. Adding others into the mix is just an alternate option. It has no merit on your game.
All games out there will always offer additional options for players. Whether it is Premium items or alternate playing options. It is all up to YOU on how you want to game. All in how YOU look at it. I just see it as a “side option”, nothing more.

I’m pretty ‘meh’ about mobster stuff in general, so I was more excited for the Star Trek event than this one, but I do loves me some new content anyway. I to am hoping the leaderboard thing doesn’t mean I’ll loose out on prizes, because I’m a completionist and get discouraged if I can’t complete. 🙂 Already know I want the cat though; I’m a total sucker for the kitties.
And now I want girl scout cookies… damn you, TinyCo!

Okay, this event might have a fairly large bug in it for Kindle users… I need to play around with it a bit more to make sure. After updating and getting the event started, I closed the app to discover that EVERYTHING on my Kindle appeared to be gone. Nothing in my carousel, nothing in my app list… Going to the app store showed that they were apparently still installed, but it took rebooting my tablet to get everything to show back up.
I’m hoping it was just a fluke, because something like this can really freak people out.

Okay, perhaps it was to do with something else…? Tried opening and closing the app and found no repeat incidents like I had earlier stated… Up to you ladies on approving these or not, but it could help to inform or possibly get others who experienced this too to chime in.
On the plus side, it appears they may have fixed the exit crash I’ve been experiencing since the Star Trek update.

Could be divine Intervention, I did the same thing in the star trek event and accidentally bought a planet. Turned out to be the most helpful thing I did, and by the end of the event I earned back way more clams than I accidentally spent.

It would be nice if we got additional land with bigger events like this, I have almost run out and I’m sure I’ll need to store several things to make room for this.

It makes me sad to say but I think this is when I delete the game from my devices. I love playing it but the lack of any new land to place all the things you work so hard to get has taken the fun out of this game. I appreciate all the info and fellow players i have met on this site. Maybe one day in the future I will return.

Still going through the characters, but Quagmire has a hat-earning action as do most of the star trek event characters.

When I first updated it looked like all my Trekkies were dropping Fedoras. Now they’ve all completed the tasks I had them on, and sending them back out, none of them had Fedoras showing as a reward…

Double check your app market and make sure you are up to date. Also try force closing and restarting your device.

Hi – when I set my Star Trek characters on actions at the start they were supposed to drop fedoras – none of them have and now none are showing fedoras in their list of actions.

I’m glad there isn’t much for clams now. I may buy the most expensive cookie machine, I found it really helped in Star Trek. Speaking of which, all Star Trek skins and characters can earn fedoras, I think they replace the XP, or perhaps with it. Diabeto looks to be a character, I don’t like the idea of the leaderboard. It is a nice idea, but I’m sure I’ll lose out on several nice items. Well this looks like it will be fun, hopefully I won’t be tempted to spend too much.

Don’t bother. If the past is any representation of what the events are like you will only find it useful for the first week and then regret it. I bought currency generators for most of the previous events and always regretted it.

I found it very useful for the Star Trek event, I would not have had as nearly as many items if I hadn’t bought it. Also, I imagine that it will certainly help more this time as I’m guessing it would impact the leaderboards, with more cookies you’ll probably be able to complete more tasks and get more fedoras to rise in the leaderboards.

Is it just me or is it going to be unfair? I see leaderboard prizes. Does that mean you can’t earn all the prizes unless your on that place?
I see freemium players easily losing g on this one.

Probably not… it looks like everyone’s going to be ranked, and if you want everything, you’ll have to rank high… which means playing like a madman. The highest leaderboard prize I’d like is the Don Corleone character… and you have to come in the top 10,000 for that… how easy that’s going to be remains to be seen for now, though.

I’d blame the Captain kirk character in our games. He looks and sounds an awful lot like General Mortars (check out National Lampoon’s Loaded Weapon 1 if you don’t know what I’m getting at).

Confirming this update is live in Google Play. Of course, since you Ladies consistently precede the updates, I’ve stopped checking my game and just refresh this site to see when new things launch. 🙂
