Hey there Slashers!
Many times with the New Events I see PANIC. Mostly due to everything is new and no one knows just yet how to get the hang of what is going on. Well, just as usual, here to help in anyway I can with some Basic 101 and detailed breakdown of HOW TO on the aspects of the Game Play.
For this post, I will be diving into the Unholy Nuns. Take a peek below for some Tips and Tricks to take out these ghastly scary Women!
Keep in mind that the pictures and stats are from MY game. Yours may vary, but you will at least have a good idea of what to expect. Just check YOUR game for YOUR stats on specific items.
WHEN DO I START SEEING UNHOLY NUNS?
First up, the trigger point in the Event. They will not appear in the game until you reach Death at the Drive-In Part 2. These are the NPC’s you will need to clear with Holy Water Balloons & Launcher. Let’s Dive in.
WHERE DO THE UNHOLY NUNS COME FROM?
They spawn out of the Movie Screen and then enter the game from the Event Area.
HOW MANY SPAWN AT A TIME?
Tap on the Movie Screen to see how many are set to come out with the next spawn. I have seen them vary from 2 to 4.
HOW OFTEN DO THEY SPAWN?
Tap on the Movie Screen to see how much time will pass until the next spawn. Mine usually shows over 1hour and 18mins.
HOW MANY CAN I HAVE IN MY TOWN?
Still verifying if there is a set number. Usually it depends on the Player. I have been able to have at LEAST 12 in my town at a time.
Now with those Basics out of the way, let’s look at Holy Water Balloons & Launchers
WHERE DO I GET HOLY WATER BALLOONS?
You will need to send Characters on Tasks to Collect Holy Water Balloons. You can also get them from Buildings. Here are the options.
Holy Water Balloons (ALWAYS): Peter Desecrate Graves OR Mort Lose Cell Phone Signal OR Chris Check Out the Basement OR Bonnie Wear Inappropriate Shoes OR Quagmire Investigate Weird Noised OR Crazy Joe’s Car Wash OR Joe Look For Murderers (New 10/6)
You can also see this information by going to the Movie Prop Shack and tapping on it. In the pop up screen locate the Holy Water Balloon icon with the “i” in a lil bubble next to it and tap on it. You can scroll up and down the list of Sources for Holy Water Balloons.
WHAT DO I DO WITH THE HOLY WATER BALLOONS?
You will use these Holy Water Balloons to create a Holy Water Balloon Launcher in the Movie Prop Shack to shoot down the Unholy Nuns with.
WHERE DO I GET THE HOLY WATER BALLOON LAUNCHER?
Tap on the Movie Prop Shack. Inside you will see a “Queue” area. Here is where you will create “Props” needed for the game. In this case, you need the Launcher Prop.
Once in this screen, you will see your Holy Water Balloon Count
Your current Capacity of Props you can have in your game or in Queue. Your CAPACITY is currently 8, and no way to increase it yet. Your QUEUE will only allow you to place 6 at a time to create. You will have to wait until at least 2 are done in QUEUE before you can make 2 more to hit the CAPACITY of 8.
Once you have at least ONE Holy Water Balloon, you will see the “NOT ENOUGH” below the Launcher has turned into a Plus “+” sign. Tapping on the “+” will create ONE Holy Water Balloon Launcher.
You will now see your Launcher timing down in the Queue below. You can only make one at a time, but the Shack will start the next one automatically for you once the timer is done on the first one. It will continue to make them until all you have in the Queue are done.
Once any one is ready in the Queue, you can tap on the Check Mark on the Movie Prop Shack to add it to your “OWNED” totals. It will now be ready for use.
HOW MANY WATER BALLOONS DO I NEED?
You will need ONE Holy Water Balloon per ONE Holy Water Balloon Launcher. These are a ONE TIME USE ONLY. Once used, they are gone and you have to Collect another.
I would suggest to get a lot of these if you are going to attempt the Week 1 Challenge as it requires 45. You still will want a lot to get Unholy Nuns, that pay out Popcorn, that can be traded for Movie Reels.
HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO MAKE A LAUNCHER?
It will take ONE Hour to create ONE Holy Water Balloon Launcher.
HOW MANY TIMES CAN I USE A LAUNCHER?
Once. Only one time and it is gone.
Now we got the Balloons collected and a Launcher created, let’s look at tracking some Unholy Nuns.
HOW DO I FIND AN UNHOLY NUN?
These Crazy Blood Shot Eyed Ladies will go EVERYWHERE around your town. They wander into nooks and crannies all over, so you will have to keep an eye out for them or use other options in the game.
If you have a task, like the Questline or Weekly Challenge that has a “GO” option to get Unholy Nuns… tap on it to be taken right to an Unholy Nun.
Unholy Nuns are a source of Popcorn. Any Material that has a source has a quick link to that source. In this case, the Concession Stand. Just go to the Concession Stand and tap on it. In the lower Left Side of the information Pop Up, you will see the Popcorn Bucket with and “i” in a green bubble tiny by it. Tap on that. The small information Task List will pop up with a list of all the sources you can get Popcorn from. One of those is the Unholy Nuns. Tap on “GO” and the game will take you to an Unholy Nun wandering your game.
HOW DO I KNOW WHEN I AM OUT OF UNHOLY NUNS?
You will get a pop up on the screen when trying to locate Unholy Nuns by the tips above. It looks something like this…
Let’s take down an Unholy Nun!
WHAT HAPPENS WHEN I TAP ON AN UNHOLY NUN?
First, locate an Unholy Nun using tips above. Once you found one, Tap on her. She will stop moving for a few seconds. While this happens the screen will change and you will notice information pop up surrounding the Game Play Area. She will then start moving again.
Up Top Left you will see the information “i” for the Unholy Nuns next to their name.
Up Top Right, the Unholy Nuns HP Damage (which mines shows 25)
Down Below and to the Right, you will see a few things.
The amount of Holy Water Balloon Launchers “OWNED” by you. (How many you’ve created so far in the Movie Prop Shack and are ready for use.) The Damage each Launcher will inflict, which right now shows 25. The exact amount needed to take an Unholy Nun down completely
What Material you have a “CHANCE OF” getting for clearing an Unholy Nun. Mine shows PopCorn 1. So at least one will drop from them, though I’ve seen 5, 10, 20 reported.
HOW DO I ATTACK THE NUN?
Here is where the tricky part comes in. Have patience and give it a few tries to get used to it and what works best for YOU as far as tapping and placement.
Just after you tap on an Unholy Nun, you will need to tap on the “OWNED” Launchers to place one onto the Game Play Area.
You will now see a Launcher with the “Kill Zone Circle” a slight shade of lighter green appear on the Screen close by the Unholy Nun you just tapped on. Here is where you can wait and mess around with it for a moment to get an idea of the “Kill Zone Circle” for the Nuns. You can also get then hang of moving it around the screen.
Tapping your finger carefully directly on the image of the Launcher itself and dragging it around the screen will move it.
What you are looking for is the Unholy Nun to turn PURPLE. This means they are in the “Kill Zone Circle” and will be hit by the Holy Water Balloon and taken out.
They move fast, so watch and wait a bit til you get used to how they move. Watch their direction. Drag the Launcher in FRONT of the Unholy Nun so they walk INTO the “Kill Zone Circle”, not away from it. If they are NOT Purple, you will miss them and waste all that time to get Balloons and Launchers.
So in short,
PURPLE UNHOLY NUN GOOD.
Black Unholy Nun BAD.
Once you see an Unholy Nun go PURPLE, tap on the Check Mark and quickly Launch a Holy Water Balloon at them. Again, they HAVE to be Purple BEFORE you hit that Check Mark to be hit and destroyed AND be going INTO the Kill Zone Circle.
PURPLE NUN= TAP CHECK MARK
In the KILL ZONE CIRCLE, tap the Check Mark
Out of the Kill Zone Circle, move the Launcher back to in front of them or wait until they enter it
This is an Unholy Nun walking OUT of the Kill Zone Circle. Attempt this shot and you are more likely to MISS the Unholy Nun. Move the Launcher back to in front of her instead so she is just entering it, then tap the Check Mark.
WHAT HAPPENS ONCE I TAP THE CHECK MARK ON THE LAUNCHER?
If the Unholy Nun was Purple when you tapped it, you will see a Balloon launched and SPLAT the Unholy Nun.
They will melt into the ground and the Launcher will go underground and away for good too.
You will then get your Popcorn Payout for taking the Unholy Nun out.
If the Unholy Nun was NOT Purple, the Holy Water Balloon will come out of the Launcher and be wasted. You get nothing.
HOW MANY UNHOLY NUNS CAN I HIT AT A TIME?
You can only hit ONE Unholy Nun at a time with a Holy Water Launcher. There is no way around it. Only ONE will turn Purple, so make sure it is the one going into the Kill Zone Circle.
There you have it. The Basics of taking down an Unholy Nun in the game.

So… I’m still on the time challenge to clear 45 unholy nuns… BUT! being waaaay to enthusiastic, I already launched the second movie. And now werewolfs appear in stead of nuns. Can I somehow go back to movie 1 so that I can complete my time challenge? (Also… although the second movie is playing, I can’t seem to unlock the soda to movie reels section. Any idea why?)

I can’t make any more anti-nun catapults. I have plenty of water balloons, and an empty prop shack queue, but it won’t let me produce any more. Aaaagh!

What’s your CAPACITY? Can only make them 6 at a time in Queue til you hit that.

My capacity is 8, or 8/8 as it says. The problem is all of the queue is empty, and when I try and build some more catapults, it says NO!

Because your Capacity is 8/8. Use one of the OTHER 8 props you already made. The amount “OWNED” is listed right above their image in the Shack.

Remember, Capacity is TOTAL in the game. Complete & ready for use plus Queue (if any) added together

I’m glad that I found this website, thank you for sharing!
However, my capacity is 8/8, the queue is empty, but the “owned” is ZERO, and I have like 40 balloons waiting. I tried to tap on everything I saw but just can’t use any prop to clear the nuns. I have been stuck like this for a couple of weeks already.. I am so close to giving up any kind of challenges in this game 😦

If your Capacity says 8 out of 8 you own 8 of something. Not necessarily the item you want. How are your Silver Cannons? Or other props?

My town has not been spawning any unholy nuns. When I tap on the movie screen, the Visitor Timer always starts the count down from 05M 31S. It also gives me the option to instantly release 3 unholy nuns for one clam. I tried it but nothing happened. Is anyone else having issues with the unholy nuns?

If you are timed and they do… tell me right away. Timed items should never stop. They should continue as Balloons, Nuns, and Launchers look pretty permanent Play. Tell me if you see differently

Thanks for responding so quickly! I was hesitant to upgrade, because I thought the new movie changes the “monster.” Like, instead of nuns, we would get werewolves. Not sure if I’m typing my thoughts right, lol. I’ll update once we update the horror flick.

Funny thing is Players are screaming and complaining it was. They WANTED to keep low levels for Popcorn exchange. Lol.

WTF. Why did my conversion rate for popcorn to movies jump from 45 to 80. Really WTF. Trying to get slasher cat in time, I’m on track, and this happens. Not cool tiny co. I’m not Happy. 😦

Now now… I giggle that everyone immediately jumps to being “screwed”. Take a look at your Scream Level…
They adjusted the requirements. It is a good thing. The New Phase drops TODAY. Need to be on Level 4 to go into new content. 😉

I just checked and it looks like everyone’s balloon tasks have been reduced from 5 to 4 hours in length to match the time for Joe Swanson. This is in my game, anyway.

Hope this helps some. I started the unholy-nun quest less than 48 hrs ago. I pre-saved water balloons and pre-maxed my CAPACITY AND pre-maxed my QUE for launchers, BEFORE triggering the unholy-nun quest. Now I only need 3 nuns to complete the quest, with a full 24 hours left on the timer! 🙂 And this is from someone who works and cannot play at all at work. No lunch break playing for me. No wifi at work. 😦 My old timer advice, to all new readers of this blog, is to wait a bit and ALWAYS read the blog and comments BEFORE choosing your plan of action. Try not to be trigger happy! Patience and pre-planning is key! I play mainly freemium. I haven’t spent money on this game since the mafia event. And for this event, all I have bought so far is the little popcorn machine. And that’s only because I love Halloween. Good luck everyone!!!

I’ve had that “building” for a few days and it’s just now that he can use it.

Joe started dropping water balloons for me while looking for murderers. Very nice plus, since it’s a 4hour action. I usually send characters who have no useful actions on 4 hours errands, and he dropped them without me even knowing it would help.

So Crazy Joe’s car wash…..does it only drop one holy water per 18hours? Can’t find that info anywhere, and since 1 popcorn seems to equal 10, figured it was worth asking!

Hi Bunny, and thanks for all your useful info! I have a theory that might prove completely wrong: but regarding the mysterious maximum-amount-of-nuns-in-town-limit, I’m starting to wonder if it has to do with which district you have reached. I am at District 6, and I’ve had 6 nuns roming around since yesterday, they don’t increase in numbers. You mentioned somewhere that you can have at least 12 nuns, and maybe that’s because your way ahead in your game progress? 🙂 Just a thought.

It does vary by Player. Starts around 4, have seen reports of up to 14. So just go off what YOUR game allows. 😉

I just recieved peter costume saved max on balloons just started 45 nuns quest 1 reel shy of the the pumpkin bouce house, 3 days until next movie. No way will I get to the next movie in time, but loving the horror motif.

So I noticed that if the nun you clicked on walks out of the kill zone circle but another walks n at the same time your water balloon will still hit that one instead. Then I tried clicking on a nun but going elsewhere on the screen n discovered you can pick out any nun while in the targeting screen. I find it helpful if my first nun starts moving quickly. I can just hunt out a still one.

Yes. You can move the target to any Nun you want to. But still… only ONE will go Purple so watch which one does so you don’t miss it.

Just a comment for the game developers; I like the nuns. I like them a lot!!! Perfectly challenging for some newer players. Easy for old-timers and challenging for some noobs. Thank God We don’t have to build mazes!!! They move slow enough for most to hit! 🙂

Let’s revisit possible answers. For me personally, I did NOT hit two UHN’s with one shot. However, this is not to say it will not work for you, or that perhaps the game developers may change it so that you can hit two UHN’s with one shot. Good luck!

How full of “stuff” is your town? Try storing some things to cut down the RAM use and help your device. If continues… report it to TinyCo from your game.

Mine does too. I basically can’t progress in the game anymore. I nuked my town and it still crashes when I try to use the balloon launcher on the nuns. Reported it to tiny Co when it crashes. Is there another way I should contact them instead? I’m on Android.

P.S. I always get ten boxes of popcorn per melted nun. I don’t see how anybody could get through it with less, it takes three or more melts as it is to get five movie reels and I can’t get more than five holy water balloons every five hours, and it also takes five hours to get the launchers for them. So even with an assembly line going, that’s just one melt per hour. I think the number in the box says just 1 popcorn, though. Unless it’s a Roman numeral I and means something else.
I actually delayed putting Quagmire on his “go to the movies” task for the main questline to keep him getting holy water balloons. Silly me, the movies task only took a minute or so… Quagmire was back on balloon duty almost right away!

Did they simplify nun melting? I wasted three shots a couple of days ago (poor eye to hand coordination) but since then it has just needed me to hit the owned launcher icon near the bottom of the screen, nun goes purple, then I hit the check mark, and she melts into the ground in her way to Hell… No aiming or adjusting needed, it seems automatic. So I’m wondering if I’m just incredibly lucky or if they simplified the process since you wrote this description? 5s iPhone, iOS 8.3.

If you place it right as soon as you tap on her and she stops those few seconds… yes… you can make a quick attack. But some are not as quick.. so I offer the additional help.

One thing I do that might be helping with the quick attack is that I use both hands- tap the nun with my right hand finger, tap the launcher icon with my left hand finger so she goes purple, and tap the check mark with my right hand finger. Maybe that speeds it up enough that I don’t have to aim the launcher (which would be a problem for me most likely, I have a terrible time dragging some buildings and decos at least). I must have been doing it one-handed when she kept getting away from me de-purpled before I could shoot.

That works if you are super fast. I’ve missed twice doing it that way, better to have a little patience and move the circle to where the nun walks into it. Bunny knows best!

Well the nuns can drop more then 10 because I hit one and it dropped 20 of the popcorns but I think it is very rare that it happens.

Wow seriously detailed post. Thanks for all the helpful info as usual. I was wondering if anyone else can’t get into the projection booth? I can play every aspect of the game except for when I tap the projection booth my game crashes.

Please Report it to them from your game. All I can offer is try some basic troubleshooting to see if it helps.
