Hey there Slashers!
Many times with the New Events I see PANIC. Mostly due to everything is new and no one knows just yet how to get the hang of what is going on. Well, just as usual, here to help in anyway I can with some Basic 101 and detailed breakdown of HOW TO on the aspects of the Game Play.
For this post, I will be diving into just where in the Game you can get Scream Points to help you with your Scream Point Levels.
The Scream Points will be the Main Source taking us through each week’s Phase Updates. If you are a bit behind, do not worry too much. Wait and see how it plays out. Sometimes a day behind can be good so you can bypass any glitches, issues, and get a good idea of what is to come before YOU trigger it.
That being said, let’s look at WHERE we are going to get all our Scream Points from.
BUILDINGS
With the Buildings dropped into our games, they will help us get some Scream Points too. Here are the current payouts for them…

For 8hrs, you can collect 8 Scream Points a day if you collect at least 2 times.
If you do decide to go Premium, you can also earn up to an additional 222 Scream Points just for placing the 3 locations.

For 8hrs, you can collect 4 
Scream Points a day if you collect at least 2 times
If you place just the Quahog Moviehouse to start the Event and then Place Death’s Mom’s House, you’ll have 106 Scream Points.
DECORATIONS
Purchasing Decorations with your earned 3D Glasses will also help out to earn Scream Points for the Event by just placing them down once purchased. Let’s take a look…

These can add up really fast to your totals depending how often you send Quagmire to get the 3D Glasses (1/2hrs) and collect from the Quahog Moviehouse (5/24hrs).
QUESTLINES
With several Questlines running in our games, you have the option to earn even more Scream Points upon completing each part of them. Now these are fairly low, you can wait on completing many Questlines, some are for things you may not get, but I just wanted you to know they are there.

HOW MANY DO I NEED?
UPDATE 10/8: The Scream Level Requirements have now been changed. I will be updating the post with the NEW Scream Points needed for each level once I confirm them all.
Here are the current amounts for each Scream Point Level. This may change or more options added, but this is what is there as of this post.
Scream Point Level 2: 20 Scream Points
Scream Point Level 3: 270 Scream Points
Scream Point Level 4: 620 Scream Points
Scream Point Level 5: 1070 Scream Points
Scream Point Level 6: 1620 Scream Points
If you already Placed the Movie House and Death’s Mom’s House, you should have at LEAST 106 Scream Points and be in Level 2, on your way to Level 3. That is very very very very basic earning. Not including daily collections, Questlines, or Decorations placed.
For now, most your Scream Points will come from the Buildings and Decorations. Any concerns of course address to TinyCo. I will be putting up a Poll later to see where you are too on the Scream Points, so keep an eye out for it.
Basically… DO NOT PANIC!!! It seems it works out when the Update hits that many still find ways to move up and forward.
There you have it. An overall idea of WHERE to get all those Scream Points from for the Game Levels.

I thought I might have been missing out on character tasks that would earn Scream Points, but I see that there are none. I tend to keep any unused characters in storage (it really helps to keep things running smoothly by using less memory), and I really did not want to pull them out one at a time and check their task lists.
Strange how there are no tasks outside of the questlines to earn Scream Points, but I hope the TC Overlords are listening and add some…

My game is now buggy around ghost Loretta. When i clear her check it levels her to 7. And then crashes every timp me on her! I notified Tiny co. But for now i just cant clear that task!

Death’s Mom’s House triggers his Bonus… it’s Pumpkin Tower that triggers Slasher and needs Reels.
So if you’re not gonna buy out Death for clams… just place it and keep going. 🙂

I just got the pumpkin tower this morning and am down to 4 film reels. There’s no way i’m going to be able to get slasher cat in 5 hours with the amount of film reels required.

Hey Bunny, do you know if this is retroactive? All I have left is the pumpkin tower and slasher cat to place and everyone is ballooning it for those two. Am I crap out of luck? I’m a little under halfway to lv 4 and don’t realistically think I’ll climb up without quags churning out glasses for decos even if he wasn’t on balloon duty.

Don’t stress it. See what new items come along with new phase and just keep YOUR pace that works for you. Don’t move forward til you’re ready. 🙂

I just reached level 3 yesterday and I’m wondering if it’s even possible for freemium players to reach level 4 in time.
Level 3 would have been a reason place to update but level 4 seems a bit too much, especially if we’re working on items for death and reels for slasher cat. At the moment I’m prioritising reels over items for death but it still seems like tiny I have us too much for one week.

Don’t stress updating the second it hits. Play at your pace. With new payouts it’ll go faster. 🙂

Isn’t this an undesirable update if you are trying to save to get Slasher Cat? And has anything changed inregards to getting him? I’m at 54 Reals and trying to figure out if it’s worth ignoring the ‘level-up’ option above the movie screen. Any thoughts?

I need just under 200 scream points to reach level 4, but I also need 16 reels to get Slasher Cat. It would be nice to get the reels before reaching level 4 and the price per reel goes up. With Joe having a task for balloons and everyone else’s time reduced by an hour I’m going to leave Peter free with the hopes he can save Lois a few times today. As soon as I get the reels I’ll buy bloody footprints until I reach level 4 (I hope I have enough 3D glasses). True, but at my current pace (and staying at level 3) I’ll have Slasher by tonight. Faster depending on how often Lois gets attacked. Without knowing how the next phase will earn reels (or how long it takes) I think I’ll stay the course. I’ll be a little late for the next phase to start but that’ll be ok since I won’t rush into something I’m not ready for yet (any timed items etc.). Now just hurry up with the next phase rundown post, will ya?!?! 😉

for the slasher cat, i’ve got a 24h timer that left today 4 hrs, is is mean that if within 4 hrs i didn’t get the 100 movie reel i won’t get this character?

So annoyed. Got up to level four and the mission comes up telling me to reach level five, press go and it opens the booth which starts the slasher cat timer. I now have a day to earn 51 film reels. What makes it worse is that it is now 45 popcorn to get 5 reels. So I need 495 popcorn, or 50 nuns in one day. It’s impossible! Why increase the amount of popcorn required to reels given?

Right now i’m not to impressed with these scream points, i only have 362 points and the second part is supposed to start today. I can’t play the second part until i reach level 4, which at this rate will be in two weeks. Sent my opinions to TinyCo but so far disappointed in this event.

I’m glad the scream points increased, but I just noticed this morning that it now takes 45 popcorn to earn 5 film reels. That’s an increase of 10 reels over what it was yesterday. Boo!

Thanks Bunny, new payouts will help a little, but I’m not going panic if I don’t hit Level 4 tonight as I’ve still got reels to collect and Death to work on. So I’m pretty busy in my game without the new content. I also have the feeling TinyCo are going to pull a Bunny out the hat when the new stuff hits and all the panic will have been for nothing and suddenly people will be saying they are overwhelmed. It’s a well worn path us addicts walk. But I for one am loving the event and as usual I trust in Bunny, TinyCo should really thank the heavens she chose to blog about this game.

Not sure where to put this as the topic hasn’t been breached yet, at least not anywhere i’ve seen… but Joe has a task at murder point that gives the bubbles/ballons/whatever they are. They slipped it in earlier thisnmorning or late last night. Just thought i’d share. Good luck all. 🙂

Hi I stopped playing this game because of the time involved in getting anything,now what do you know to get the grand prize you have to get the weekly items in order in 3 three days WHAT is this not a 3 day prize I’m on 36 of 45 been playing since the start now last 12 hrs at work won’t play lose everything if it’s a week 1 prize give us at leased a week so why should we give up the time plus only now have they changed the time to get the balls to 4hr from 5hrs but then your have to wait another hr to be able to use it, am I the only one that thinks this is stupid?

Weekly Challenges always have been and always will be just that… a Challenge. It’s an optional choice and risk YOU as an individual player have to decide to try for. Is it really worth it to try? If clams have to be spent will you want to? These are questions you’ll have to ask yourself with them each and every week.
I think Challenges are something to add extra interest to the game. Many players like Challenges. But if it’s not for you and you don’t like them… pass. Lots of other elements in the game to focus on. 😉

I should earn about 100 scream points a day with this new system playing at my normal rate (sorry, not checking in every 2 hours 10 times in a 24 hour period… this isn’t Star Trek!) 😉
And with my 3d glasses from just stuff (no Quag) I have enough to buy a minimum of 100 more scream points from decos which will put me lvl4 Friday, a day after 2nd phase release.
I prefer this as a freemium player so I can read on what the phase will bring so I can attack it with the most efficiency. If you don’t play at maximum efficiency as a free player you fall behind fast. Waiting a day to get a solid recon of what is ahead will save you time in the long run.

First time posting, love your site. Had to chime in when I saw this. It seems like at a 2-8 ratio for the bloody footprints, we would be insane to place any other deco to earn scream points as this is by far the best conversion. If my math is correct, 26 3D glasses spent on footprints would garner 104 points vs the doll villages 25 glasses to 30 points. This is how we’ll get to level 4, stragglers!

TY TinyCo employees; appreciate the help, esp for newer players with the events. Thinking about how players stress too much about this game, i.e. (that is) the players who don’t yet trust our Bunny and her blog, and the people who care about her at TinyCo. 😉 The fans of our game, and the sincere developers of this game, together, we will always have her back. Maybe not the the greedy owners, but that is another story. I don’t want no stinking scream points too fast yet btw, just sayin’, at least ’til I have my slasher cat. Much easier to acheive your goals with reels, if your are at a lower scream level. Just saying trigger happy people 😉

Thanks for the update Bunny. You are always the optimist. I have sent an email to Tiny Co asking for some help on the scream points. I have already earned all the freemium stuff except Slasher Cat (have him tomorrow) and the Bat Tree (tomorrow also). I have always been able to get through the first week pretty solid because I play a lot and then I start buying some premium items after I am sure the game is functioning as planned. If they don’t reply to my message, I will be close to a week behind as I only have 352 scream points. So, fingers crossed they add or alter. If not, this will be a HUGE disappointment.

My bet is in the ol’ good “Everything is working as intended” answer from TinyCo. I wouldn’t panic though, there is still a lot of time left, and as you can see TinyCo is already making some adjustments as the event goes.

Hmmm, I just unlocked Quagmire’s Haunted House skin… and it looks like it just replaced the halloween skin from last year. 😦
I wonder if the Griffin’s and Swanson’s skins will also be replaced later in the event. I hope not, since I actually earned those last year.

idk if this is happening all around, but when you hit the “collect all” button it’s NOT collecting and counting the scream points at all from the Halloween buildings. i’m not 100% that’s the case tho i’m waiting around in my game to collect again to see if that’s what is actually happening…

It won’t collect ALL items. If a BOX/Item or Checkmark is there… you have to do it manually. 😉

yushh i know that, but im talking Death’s Mom’s House or the Jack-O-Lantern Bounce House it will not give you the scream points if you hit the “collect all” button. You have to tap them individually to get the scream points.

The “collect all” button is automatically collecting scream points for me. I just verified in my game. The scream points went up after I hit the “collect all” button. I was expecting 3 scream points from one event building to add. It added 6. So it’s working. Maybe doubly so! (Probably more likely there was an event building also ready that I didn’t see).

It might have just been a delay – we’ve had that happen before. If you go do something else and come back, the counter catches up.

I’ve always let Consuela aspirate the coins and don’t collect them myself from the event buildings, but my scream points keep increasing. Either the cleavers are being aspirated (like experience points) or they fly down quickly on their own before I can reach the event buildings while looking for nuns. I assume they are being handled just like experience points, and I’ve never seen those hanging around buildings after Consuela vacuums up the coins.

Yeah, the Collect All button didnt originally collect the Scream Point and you lost them.
I had the same problem earlier. Even if it is supposed to be fixed now, Im too scared to lose any more so I always collect them manually before hitting the Collect All button.

I’m so gutted I would have had enough scream points to be at level 4 if this had happened earlier. This morning I got the dolls and bat tree before they changed payouts. Missing out on over 100 scream points. Are they going to give us any extra for people who have already made purchases on decorations and placing buildings.

First….I wanna say a huge THANK YOU for all that you do on this site for us. You guys are players just like everyone else, you experience the same ups and downs as the rest of us and to boot you spend tons of your own hard earned money just to help us all out with tips, tricks and walkthroughs….yet you never vent your anger or frustrations like many do. That takes alot of restraint and I highly commend you for that! You guys always keep the posts coming with advice for us all even during times where weather is difficult, or something causes internet to be troubled. You have contests that again you give prizes out from your own money. A huge, HUGE THANK YOU to you and your team!!!! It doesn’t go unnoticed and thought I would take a second to let you know that. I do have a quick question pertaining to the game, I looked around didnt see the answer so I figured I would ask. With Quagmire’s task to earn 3-D glasses, how many glasses does he earn from that task? I ask because since this mini-event started I have had him on back to back Holy Water Balloon earning tasks so I could keep those rolling in so that ultimately I could gather enough movie reels in advance so I could buy everything including the Slasher Cat. But I figured I would ask so that when I’m done stocking up that I would know how many 3-D glasses Quagmire earns from that task. Thank you in advance for your help!! You guys are awesome!

I normally make it thru the first week of an event on time. But, I guess, with this one, I’m kinda behind. Still on level 2. Nowhere near getting death. And need 70 reels to get slasher cat. At least I know not to open him till I get the 100, thanks to your dedication. The next 24 hours should be interesting.

Thank you for all the time you take to make these posts. It’s a huge help every event! 💟 I personally hold back buying decorations until as late as possible in events In case they increase the payout. I also put “extra rare” tasks on the lower priority list of things to do since they many times increase the drops to “always” behind the scenes as time goes on. Knowing the patterns does help. However, without this site there would be no way to anticipate these 24 hr “surprise” clocks though so thanks again! I also find the complaining comments to be useful. Helps me gauge where I’m at with the rest of the community. If everyone is behind they will make changes so just wait for them!

I see, thx for all the fast info. I’m kinda glad I didn’t spend any 3d glasses and I figure if I play so much and spend a decent amount of clams and I’m still around 300 points then I’m pretty sure the majority is the same as me and that tinyco would have to do something or else only u girls or the rich and spoil will advance next week. Everyone else will have to wait aND tinyco will be behind on whatever they have scheduled which I think will not go good for them. So yeah, kinda thought they would pull something like this or make more characters with task to get the points quickly. Also the fact that u kept saying don’t panic means u probably know something so I trusted u, thx.

I usually am always waiting for the update and ready to move on. I was really nervous since I just leveled to 3 today and have 322 scream points. I too am working on slasher cat movie reels in addition to clearing 45 unholy nuns. Thank you for posting all this helpful info and it sounds like a lot of us are going at a similar pace. That is normal. Auto is ONLY coin. Never Materials or Character Task collections.

Actually it does collect the cleavers from Halloween buildings..I noticed it on Monday because I thought I wasn’t getting them at all. Now I check the total before I hit the vacuum and check it after and it always increases by the amount I would have received from the buildings…thought it was weird and told tinyco, but didn’t hear anything back.

Similar to a lot of others it seems, I still need a bit under 300 scream points to hit level 4. I’m at 323 Scream Points right now so I have a long way to go before getting to level 4. If I set my alarm for every two hours so that I can collect every time a building is ready (68 possible in 24 hours) it will take me another 4 days to get there. I just started working on the movie reels for slasher cat. I figure that is going to take me 3 days to complete so I’m really running behind. This is the first event in a long time that I’ve not spent any clams. I’m just not into slasher movies. If there was a “buy 600 clams, get 50 movie reels” deal, I might bite but, for now, I’m saving my money.

Bunny, tripling up these building payouts 24 hours before the update is due to come isn’t even going to make a dent. People who have the premium buildings are probably close already so those aren’t much help. And so many comments I have seen have people just now reaching level three. Sorry, I know you don’t like negativity even when it is reality, but this is flawed. I know they did something and they should receive that credit but even simple math shows that this can’t help most of us because for six days we were fighting an uphill battle. Reality is that most of us might reach level four sometime this weekend, but we are still behind in the event. Have we learned nothing from the tuba debacle? I embarrassingly play A LOT and I only got to level three today and I have every building working (I am not even trying for Slasher Cat) and aren’t using Quagmire for balloons so I can use him for 3D glasses and decorations just so I could try to get to level four because I didn’t want to miss out on new content. I have learned from past events that once you get behind, you are cooked. TinyCo knows what they are putting in the game. Why can’t they figure out simple math and set the plateaus reasonably? This is 1-1/2 years into the game. I don’t want it to be simple but I want it to be possible. There is no defense for their constant poor math skills.

Instead of complaining… think that there is no reason you have to update the second the next level is launched into the game. It is nice to… but not a have to. You can keep going and get there when you do. So realize also there is a reason they do what they do and it all works out anyway. Maths skills have nothing to do with it. You are where THEY want you to be. Plain and simple. 😉
Otherwise… take it up with them and stop using helpful posts to vent. There is always a reason the play is the way it is. 😉

The good about it now is that they have upped the payouts. Yes we may be behind on this part but levelling up should be a lot easier after this week. Think positive 😉😉

Woo Hoo!! I just went to check what time each of my scream point buildings would each finish – it looks like they have trippled the number you get (1 goes to 3, 6 is now 18)!!! Thanks TinyCo!!

there IS a counter sort of…when you go to purchase a 3D glasses items, it was say…for example you want the bat tree… 12/20 / but you have to click on the little “i” where the item is

i’m sorry that was really unclear…i’m at work and i rushed. you go to the shopping cart, and click on the green “i” in the lower left corner of the box that indicates which object you want to purchase. the side box opens up, and it tells you how many of what you need that you have. example again the bat tree, if i click on the “i” it says 12/20 so i have 12 of 20

Help… i just got to slasher cat on the prize list and he requires 100 rolls of film or whatever but has a 24 hour timer on him. Does that mean that I only have a day to unlock him… is that even possible… I’ve been playing religiously and i dont think that I’ve acumulated 100 rolls of film in 1 day (if i hadn’t been using them) Arrrrggggg!!

This kind of things are really mediocre. Death and its new action for instant purchase? OK! FINE! They do have to pay their employees. This attitude sucks though.

I’m not panicking, but I won’t make it to level four tomorrow. I have 321/620. So with the bonus ones from death’s house and the movie house,it’s taken me the entire event so far to get the amount I now need in one more day. Hmm

It’s not help when half way through they change the rules. It’s frustrating and people that actually buy the clams feel ripped off.

Half way through? We are 6 days in a Month long event. That is no where near half. As I state every single solitary Event… do not panic… MORE always comes. It is NOT a change, it is the way the game goes. Things increase as the game play does. We have seen items double and triple payouts all the time. It is very common for Events.
If you want to complain… THIS is not the place. Take it to What The Deuce posts or to TinyCo. We are the Addicts. Respect our site and the time and effort we put into our posts. You want to complain, take it to those that make the game, not tear up a helpful post. 😉

There isn’t a counter 😦
All you can do is use your Decorations to get an “idea” that you have at least that much. Suggest a counter to them. 😉
