As you have all started to notice, changes are starting to happen for tonight… Scream Levels being the main one of focus. (Scream Points doubled and even tripled yesterday)
With the New Phase 4 in the midst for this evening, TinyCo is prepping for its launch. This included a recent change to the Scream Point Levels too.
Now before you all FLIP OUT!!! Keep in mind that there will be MORE options to still get Reels. The Concessions shows 5 Different ones. So you will NOT have to rely on just Popcorn. You will have more options come with the New Phases. So yes, items take more to Exchange, but that is because a new one is offered and you may not even need the other one so much after a while.
Reels are here to stay the ENTIRE Event. You got plenty of time and lots more chances coming to keep earning them. 🙂
NEW SCREAM LEVELS
Here are the new amounts for each Scream Point Level. I am still verifying these and will update them all with the correct amounts once I have confirmation.
Scream Point Level 2: 20 Scream Points
Scream Point Level 3: 200 Scream Points
Scream Point Level 4: 350 Scream Points
Scream Point Level 5: 500 Scream Points
Scream Point Level 6: 750 Scream Points
Scream Point Level 7: 1100 Scream Points
Scream Point Level 8: 1550 Scream Points
Scream Point Level 9: 2100 Scream Points
Scream Point Level 10: 2750 Scream Points
STUCK ISSUE
For the most part, many of you progressed up fine. For some reason some of us (me included) did not. Instead, the Bar is “stuck” at the amount we last had vs the amount that should trigger the Level up. You can see mine is MORE than required but stuck.
TinyCo is aware of this already and looking into it. In the meantime, if YOU are “stuck” please report it in game right away. I will let you know when I hear more on it.
WHAT ABOUT POPCORN?
Keep in mind there are 4 MORE options in Concessions for Reel Exchange coming, so Popcorn will not be the only thing. Reels are Game Currency and are here to stay. So no worries, plenty more options coming to get them and who knows… maybe ones you will find easier than the Unholy Nuns. 😉
POPCORN EXCHANGE
Like I noted since beginning of the Event, the exchange rates WILL Change. These are the stats I posted previously… let me know if you see a difference. I’m verifying with them too and will Update changes verified. The ARE correct. If you see different double check your Level and report it if the amount varies.
The Current Exchange Rate is as follows…
- Scream Level 1 & 2: 30
Popcorns for 5 
Movie Reels - Scream Level 3: 35 Popcorns for 5 Movie Reels
- Scream Level 4: 45 Popcorns for 5 Movie Reels
- Scream Level 5: 60 Popcorns for 5 Movie Reels
- Scream Level 6: 80 Popcorns for 5 Movie Reels
- Scream Level 20: 105 Popcorns for 5 Movie Reels
Now a few important things to note, the increase is ALSO triggered by Death in the Drive-In Part 6. So if you hit that point BEFORE you Level up to Scream Point Level 3, you will still see an increase to the 35.

Also, for those of you that have not noticed… all the Balloon Tasks are 4hrs now and Joe has been added to the Mix.

I go to change the movie (I got the check mark over top of movie screen) but when I tap it says where the countdown was “must finish first” finish what’? I’m level 5 is the a quest that must be done ?

I am at level 6 (but I have almost 1000 points & should be level 7) but when I click on the movie screen it says I need to be at level 4 (I even have the level 4 check mark on the mission pop up). Anyone else seeing this?

Wow!!! Not freaking fair I clicked on the task that said “start the next movie” and instead of sending me to the tv it sent me to the place where u go to trigger the 24 hour timer for the cat now I can’t get it😩😭

I also jumped from 45 popcorn to 80 with no reason and it now makes slasher cat impossible given the 24 hour window and 100 reels required. Very disappointing.

aahhhhhhh, once I got the pumpkin tower I was so careful not to tap the event store, because you wondeful gals told me about the timer on Slasher cat. But on the train to work the train lurched and my thumb came down right on it. I tapped outside the frame to close it before it could load,
but I don’t know if had any effect.
Does the event store show a visible timer counting down once you start the timer?
I am 80 reels away and there is no way I can clear 16 nuns in 1 day.

I swear, if they don’t add tasks for additional characters this time and just continue to stick them onto the same ones I’m going to blow a gasket. With 4-6-8 hour tasks for multiple items on the same character events become just a lot of waiting.

Long time player – Angry now- first update ever to make me wanna rage quit & delete. Family guy has made me angry with this update – stupid timers
At least u had a few days I last update to obtain characters.
To get the slasher cat I need 100 film wheels .
It only takes now 4 hours to obtain then another hour to create so 5 hours to just try & hit a nun (singular) because they spawn apart .
Explain realistically how I’m to obtain this 100 wheels in 24 hours ???? Even as I lie in hospital With lno sleep & wifi access i don’t have enough time Without spending clams once again .
I’ve bought clams before & once enjoyed the game .
I’m considering to quit now like so many others I know inuding my husband who gave up 2 update ago.

Did you already trigger the timer? If not, then you have all the time you need until you trigger it.
If you have already, then yes… got to choose if it is worth it. The info was in the game from the start as to his timer and the cost. Sorry that you missed it. This is the first time they ACTUALLY Posted it was a timed item AND let us know what to collect AND let us collect it before putting it into the play screen area (like death, peter, etc). 🙂
Just know going forward if you choose to stick around, there will always be surprises. That is how these games function. To have trials and challenges along the way to keep players on their toes, in their game, and new ideas flowing. Standard practice. If it is not for you, and you do not like their style… there is nothing wrong with walking away. We actually suggest it. If you aren’t having fun, find something that will be fun for you. 🙂
Otherwise go into each and every game knowing their will be challenges and it will be up to you as a player to determine just how informed you want to be, how much effort you want to put in, and whether or not you want to spend… that will all dictate your game results. 🙂

I understand the new levels, but what I don’t understand is, with just over 800 scream points, I went from level 4 to 6 and now I need 80, yes 80 popcorns to get 5 reels … seems excessive to me to go from 45 to 80. It seems my game completely bypassed the 60 popcorn level. Not fair!!

I’m not seeing any new concessions. Can’t upgrade to movie and can’t see why. I’m just getting a finish this first and a egg timer. I jumped from lvl 4 to 6 just before 11pm UK time (which is just before the jump) was waiting to get 120 reels and on 83. Still getting 10 popcorn from nuns. I’m not happy at all.

I just lost 76 scream points after I used Consuela’s vacuum to collect from buildings. They dropped from 302 to 226. I guess I don’t have to worry about getting to level 4 and the increased amount of popcorn for reels. I reported this to TinyCo, maybe I’ll get my points back.

I think TinyCo were damned if they did and damned if they didn’t on this one. I guess they could have adjusted the popcorn rates at same time as scream points but possibly too much coding to alter in short time. Or maybe they have altered the rates on the new concession that will hit tonight. I must admit I’m quite excited to see what’s coming next, this event has certainly reignited my love for the game which did dip a little, although not enough for me to quit, during the mobsters event fiasco that saw glitch after glitch, tuba disasters and finally many locked out their games. i think they learned a lot from that by looks of this event.

this so crappy. I had been saving up my popcorn waiting to cash them all in for movie reels and then this bump in levels happened. had I cashed them in this morning I could have had over 100 reels, now I skipped level 4 all together and went from half way to level 4 all the way to level 5, now I have to pay 60 popcorn and only had enough for 64 reels. super sad.

Sorry, but that was a dumb move. There was absolutely no reason to save up popcorn. You are supposed to be saving up reels, not saving the popcorn. There is absolutely zero advantage to saving the popcorn.

I too have been leveled up to Scream L 5 (from 3). That’s all good and well, but the number at the bottom (on the cleaver) still says 3. If you tap on the movie screen it says “reach level 4”. If you open the screen that explains the event, it says level 5. Is this that “stuck” thing you were talking about? Should I report it?

What is the count on your meter? Is the number on left higher or right?

It says 5 (in the meat cleaver) and then 535 / 750. The meat cleaver (at the bottom) now also says 5, but on the movie theatre it still says “get to level 4”.

Movie theater is ONLY telling you the Level requirement. So you are fine. No worries. 😉

If your scream point meter is stuck you can try visiting ollie land and coming back. It worked for me and my meter is back on track now 🙂

Man, this “update” hurt my chances of getting the Cat earlier. I was on pace to get him soon (39 / 120 reels) and now the popcorn will take me forever to get the reels. I hope the soda will help in the exchange, but I see it being a double item collection. you will need 45 popcorn and 25 soda for 5 reels (example)

I had been consciously focusing on keeping below level 4 to keep the popcorn/film reels at 35, so this will push back Slasher Cat until tomorrow for sure, but should be OK as long as I don’t suddenly get to level 5.

Great information as always Bunny. So I guess we all weren’t where TinyCo wanted us in the game. I am glad they finally realized their mistake and made the adjustments. Doesn’t make sense to have an entire block of players considerably behind in Week Two of the event.

W’ell, I was doing ok
given that I accidentally hit theprojection booth to start the timer for Slasher. After my first “wish I’d seen this earlier” (popcorn numbers increase with scream levels), I calculated how many cIams it would take me since I’d reached level 4 today. Now I’m suddenly at level 5 and need 60 popcorns to trade for reels. This truly seems unfair given the timed nature of the task I’ve been working on. I wanted Slasher to help get Death, so I’ve ONLY been focusing on getting Holy water-balloons. Slasher Bait Peter has not done anything on”Classic Horror Tropes Pt. 1″ and that’s been sitting idle on my list for 3 days! Their change in points needed to advance levels didn’t happen in my game until about an hour or so ago. Good for those folks who weren’t advancing quickly enough, screwed up folks playing by the previously stated rules and spending clams because they were focusing on a timed task to complete!

I don’t understand what happened…. I was a lv 3, about 3/4 of the way to Lv 4 and I’m working on my 100 reels. I log on, immediately it says I’ve completed a task, but I don’t know which and I’m rewarded with some clams and some hatchets… So many hatchets I rocket past lv 4 completely and am a lv 5 and now I need 60 popcorns per 5 reels. WHO does this help?! This was the first event in ages that was going well, and they just ruined it. Next they will make it easier to get reels (because people keep complaining) but all it’s doing is slowing us down for a few days. The only thing that REALLY needs to be fixed is Death’s styche drop rate.

I get that there’s more stuff that we can get reels with but the fact that I’m level 5 and need 60 popcorn to get 5 reels will take me twice as long really suck and I was so close to getting slasher cat, maybe even before the next event start which was perfect timing for me but now I have to wait until something else comes out so I can catch up on my reels. I don’t know y the changes cuz it was fine when they triple everthing.

Nope. Tinyco move me up 2 scream levels without any warning and almost double the popcorn needed for 5 reels, leaving me absolutely no chance of unlocking the character I’ve been grinding for the last 2 days.

Just a tip for next time when accidently tapping something , if you close the game and turn off your wifi it won’t save 🙂 did the same thing too but used this trick and it saved me. But it’s weird how they moved you up 😮

I’ve been bumped from level 3 to 5 and now need 80 popcorn to get 5 reels so slasher cat is impossible. This is the first time I’ve felt like giving up the game as it seems TinyCo just want us to spend our hard earh cash on clams.

Impossible when the timer is running and the new items haven’t dropped. I imagine there are many people who were unaware that there was a timer and triggered it unknowingly.
It can be said that they are at fault for not knowing. However having the exchange rate increase through no action of ours is indeed unfair.

I’m not happy with the bump either. I was doing just fine level wise (level 4 with about 3/4 to 5 now jumped up to 5 with one action already putting me over to 6) but now I have 24 hours to get 1600 popcorn to get Slasher Cat. At 4 hrs/job and 1 hr/crossbow clams are basically a requirement instead of an option to get him. Even Poppy doesn’t help at 10 popcorn/8 hrs.

Just to clarify my math, at level 6 I, like others, have an 80/5 popcorn trade rate. Unless the soda helps immensely, Slasher Cat will be impossible without clams.

I contacted them through the game and it took them about 18 hours to respond with “The next phase of “Death at the Drive-In” will begin soon. We’re just putting on the finishing g touches. Thanks for your patience in the meantime.”
Now that the soda is unlocked I still only have three hours to get about 80 reels. Not possible!

I am happy for the folks who have benefited from the change, but per unusual, whenever they do a mid game “fix”, I get a set back! I had already made level 4, without spending a single clam, and had gathered 109 reels, one set of popcorns away from 114, and was on target to get the Pumpkin Tower and Slasher Cat in two more cycles of “create water balloons, nail nuns, exchange popcorns for reels” early this evening. I signed on to collect the latest set of water balloons, and when I went to exchange the popcorns for reels, I noticed I was now on Level 6, and instead of having 35/45 popcorns, it now shows 35/80!!! So now I am behind, and that seems to happen with every “fix” they do.
I know it is never really an issue for you, as you play so far ahead that you rarely benefit from a “fix” but it is so discouraging when you constantly are set back from fixes, not propelled forward!
Anyway, I am looking forward to seeing what is next, and what earnable character is now available, as it will dictate if I am going for a characters, or finishing up on Death and questlines.

This is a bit off topic but I’m not sure where to post it. Given that you play on multiple platforms – have you tried the new iOS version (9) with FGQFS? I’ve not been upgrading my iPhone or iPad as I don’t want to add problems but my employer will be pushing me to update my phone soon. Have you seen anyone successfully testing on that OS?

Something really weird just happened. I logged into the game and I’m still showing as scream level 3, but suddenly I get the quest reward popup for reaching level 4… and then immediately afterwards the one for reaching level 5! The game now thinks I’m level 5 and wants 60 popcorn for 5 reels, but the level at the bottom right still shows as 3…
This happen to anyone else? I swear I didn’t do anything to try and trigger this to happen. I mean its kinda cool I’ve somehow managed to get to the level 4 requirement in time for the update, but bizarre as well.

Okay…colour me confused. This website is NOT an official Tiny Co site, right? Because a whole shaw k of things happened in my game, with NO explanation, but your site seems to know what’s going on. While I’m glad for your site’s existence, what kind of game company does things like this without communicating?
So was this normal? I went into the game this afternoon; I’m about halfway through level three, collecting reels to get Slasher Cat (haven’t started the timer yet). Suddenly I see three Meg conversations about her party (with Chris, with Peter, by herself), and suddenly reels cost 60 popcorn buckets instead of 35, my axe blade says I’m on level three but less so, though clicking on it shows I’m about two thirds through level five!
Is this what you’re describing in the above post – that we’re forcibly propelled to higher levels at the company’s whim?

It’s called I’m an Addict. A gamer in tune to the games I play. I pick them apart to the bones, have done so since I could game. I share those details I find with other players.
I also get in touch with game houses so I can communicate issues I see or things I think will make game better for all. I have a very highly respected response with the game houses (FOX too) and they respect my opinion and both our Addicts sites. They see what we do and want to help players too. I’m a “go between” voice many times.
Majority of what I do though… comes right from the game. I pull and verify all stats my own. Play through events my own. Pull and clean pics from my games. Etc.
The change…It’s called game play adjusting. If Players are not where they should be… they listen to players and will lower requirements so you can move forward and not get behind in an event. The Scream Level was unreachable for most to be on 4 by tonight’s requirements so it was changed for the Players benefit. Now many can access tonight’s content.
See the post again. There are 5 items in Concessions to exchange. Popcorn won’t be only one. 🙂

Mine said 3 at the bottom of the screen but the concession stand said 4 and was charging me 45 popcorns instead of 35 😦 for five reels. I was at 384 points and had been safely well within level 3 before they changed requirements this afternoon. But then I hard quit the game and went back to it, and it now said 4 at the bottom of the screen as well. So sometimes there’s a delay in that display, it’s happened in other events. Don’t know if that’s your problem, though.

I’m at Death in the Drive-In pt 9, and still at level 4 and it’s telling me I have to turn in 60 popcorn to get reels??

I wasn’t quite happy being jumped from Level 3 to 5. I was intentionally not spending Clams on the House of Masks because of its Scream Level Boost… now instead of me getting Slasher Cat today with the 31 Reels I need… I have effectively doubled the time because of higher popcorn. If not more if I reach higher Scream levels before completing it with whatever may come out today …
Great that there will be more options for Reels on the way, but there’s also likely to be MORE prize pages requiring MORE Reels. It’s already being straight hectic on acquiring Death because of his need for Reel items. Slasher Cat’s obscene amount of Reels combined with increasing amount of popcorn needed…
This is the 1st event since I joined a year ago I am “worried” I won’t be able to be ready week by week. If Death is needed at all Week 2…. I’m buggered.

But if you stayed behind… you would still only have Popcorn to get Reels and not new item and still new things to collect and still behind, right? It’s OK to hold back to a point… but moving forward might be helpful. Tonight will tell. 😉

I agree, yes, it is good to move forward… At the right strategical time. As soon as I were to get enough Reels at the 35 Popcorn Rate, to get the “necessary” 120 Reels(I know my habits…), I planned to get the Tower, Slasher, and then House of Masks to get the Level 4 Boost needed for today. Nice, tidy, clean. Playing the Game as TinyCo designed it….
This lowering of it like this because of lack of early available scream points to non premium (semi or full) players, it destroys the strategy they had planned and seems like a clear fold on their part. I just wish this change would have been attached to the new movie. Something like that. Like…
“Boo! Movie 2 has upgraded your scare staus! Enjoy the boost! ~Death ”
Something like that… I will work with it though and keep pushing for Slasher Cat ‘s more expensive reels at the new (at least currently) harder level.

But there again is an “if” of things in play. If they did have it preset you may already be at a lower level but higher popcorn requirements (as it looks like that’s the balance with the change)
So I still see players having issue with exchange. So I revert to what I’ve said since launch… more items coming so don’t stress the popcorn. Not only option. 🙂
I know it’s a shock depending where younare… but in Long run it had to happen. Prefer it done now and not last week of event when players are too far behind to even help. 😉

I got this update and when it bumped to level 4 and cleared the task the it opened the event shop triggering the 24hr timer on Slasher Cat. With only 14 reels don’t think I’ll get this character. I already messaged TinyCo and hope they’ll do something about it.

Will the wild cat still be available to get if we upgrade to phase 2? Because right now it’s going to be another 36 hours worth of killing nuns before I have enough to get him and the pumpkin tower.

Just do NOT start the timer. Watch the Somebody scream tasks and don’t tap on them. Also watch new questlines, they may trigger it too.

Did they also remove 3d glasses? In my game Quagmire just lost that task and the theater no longer shows a chance for them.

Yup, me too. Have 380 cleavers, Movie will not trigger. Menu says Lvl 4 380/500. The cleaver button on lower right still says 3.

Ok, I just got a reply from TinyCo. They told me to Force Close my app. Then re open it. I went to My App Manager, and Force Stop. Re-opened, and it worked for me.

I see a cleaver marked 2 above the movie screen. Is it too early to hit it for the next phase? I haven’t changed the picture yet, not knowing what that will do to my Quest for Cat. Will wait for instructions from General Bunny.

I was wondering what had happened, 2 hours ago I was a Scream Level 5, and when I logged in again just a few mins ago I had jumped to Level 7 and now need 80 Popcorn for 5 Reeks!

I currently can’t get into the game at all. I reported this error message in game “Unable to open file usage stats file,” which has been a constant problem and now I get a message saying there’s a problem loading game data even after I’ve erased my saved game. I’m hoping the the update today will solve the problem.

I have 53 reels now and thanks to you am holding out on getting the pumpkin tower! Will the new movie coming out wipe that away? I’ll need it for Brinestone crafting (15). I know you said the cat will still be there. Its taking me a long time to make 120 reels. 20 for the tower, and 100 for the cat! I’m getting impatient…LOL!!!!! I’m excited for the next movie!

So do you guys know if there is gonna be any other way to get the slasher cat? From the time you place the item before him he is timed at 24hrs. And I know I’m not the brightest bulb in the box but quick math says even if you max all tasks it’s impossible to earn him in that time frame with out spending clams. And it becomes even harder as you progress normally earning scare points and leveling up? Have you covered this already and I missed because this doesn’t really seem fair to me.

You do realize that he is STILL 100 Reels… the Game Currency… here to stay? Just like in this very post, no worries. You’re overthinking it. You still will just get Reels collected to 100 to get him. 😉

I’m quite pleased about the new scream levels, but I had just placed my pumpkin tower and calculated that I should just be able to collect the reels in time as long as my level wouldn’t go up. Something else happened instead. Fingers crossed for the new concessions to be quick popcorn machines 😉

Playing freemium up until now and I’m sitting at 114 reels, 2 more exchanges and I will unlock the Pumpkin Tower and Slasher Cat, hopefully in next 12 hours. And as I say not a single clam spent, saving them for any premium characters I may like. So don’t give up you can do it without clam spend. I’m also about half way with death, he’s down to 600 clams to unlock, but I will grind away to unlock him freemium, even if it takes another week.
