DEATH AT THE DRIVE-IN PHASE 2 IS HERE!!!
EVENT ENDS THURSDAY NOVEMBER 5TH @3PM PACIFIC
- First up, you will have to be on Part 9 of Death at the Drive-in
- You will need to be at Scream Level 4 or Higher
- Play the New Event Phase to access ALL Content. With every new Event Phase there are “unlock points” for many items, so play through the Main Questline in order to see it all. I will Update Unlock points if any as I find them.
WARNING: There is another 24hr Timed Item in the Movie Projection Booth. This time it will be a Building Skin. Same kind of trigger point that the items BEFORE it once created will make it so the timer will start on the next tap in Booth. So if you are on a possible Timer Trigger for Slasher Cat’s 24hr timer… WATCH OUT. Don’t trigger that one either. This goes for Slasher Bait Lois, she is in the MOVIE PROJECTION BOOTH. So do not tap on her in the Menu or it will take you there.
Also, DO NOT REPAIR ESTHER’S CAR!! Not just yet anyway. It triggers Patty’s 7 Day Timer. So be prepared before jumping in.

When opening the game Connie will have a ! over her head. You can also just go tap on the Movie Screen to change the Movie to the New Phase Content and complete Part 9 of Death at the Drive-in Questline. You will also see Peter and Stewie now with a ! over their heads. (Not all Players will see the Questlines right off, it depends on WHO you already own)
Peter Starts the New Main Questline for the Event, Death at the Drive-In the Sequel… this also triggers the Vampires to start. Once you tap through Peter then will start another Questline, Meg Has a Friend… this will take you to Unlock Patty… so wait if you’re not ready, don’t start to repair the car just yet… SHE IS TIMED.
Connie Starts a Questline for her Witch Costume, Double, Double, Toil and Trouble
Stewie Starts a Questline for his Duck Costume, Scared Straight

Similar to the Launcher, placing this in the game will show a “Kill Zone Circle” around it. Once a Werewolf enters the Circle and turns PURPLE, tap the check mark to take them out.
Werewolves: You will start to see the details of the Werewolves when you reach A Questline will trigger by a ! over Peter AFTER Death at the Drive-in the Sequel Part 3, but the Werewolves won’t start to appear until A Questline will trigger by a ! over Peter AFTER Death at the Drive-in the Sequel Part 4. I got 3 right away.
Your Characters in the game will randomly turn into a Werewolf. This will NOT stop their timer if they are on a task, but you won’t be able to collect until you hit them with the Silver Cannon and turn them back to normal.
Characters that will become Werewolves: Quagmire, Mort, Bonnie, Joe, Connie, Brain, Carter, Stewie, Consuela, Cleveland, Jake, Buzz Killington, Kool-Aid Man, Snoop Dogg, Deadmau5, Weird Al
A Questline will trigger by a ! over Peter AFTER Death at the Drive-in the Sequel Part 4, you just tap on them and you will see the same screen like the Unholy Nuns along with WHO it is that is turned in the top Left Corner. You can put a Silver Cannon down at this time and wait til Werewolf is ready to be attacked. Remember PURPLE IS GOOD. Tap on the Check Mark when the Werewolf is going INTO the Kill Zone Circle and turns PURPLE.
Werewolves Payouts: The amounts paid out vary. It seems like I got 8-9 Sodas, but still testing it out.
VAMPIRES, BATS, AND GARLIC BOMBS
You will start to see Vampires Roaming your town now after starting Part 1 of Death at the Drive-in the Sequel. Tapping on them will turn them into Bats. But now, how to get rid of those Bats? Garlic of course!
VAMPIRE SPAWN: Watch your Movie Screen. Tapping on it will show you WHO pops out next, how many, and how long til that Spawn (right now Unholy Nuns & Vampires will swap as next Spawn)
HELP NOTE: Place TWO Squares of Road right at the Entrance to Event Area where the Nuns and Vampires come out. This will make it easier to keep them right there and tap them, then Bomb the Bats right away. 🙂
The Garlic Bomb Launcher Icon will show in your Lower Right Corner of the game as soon as you COMPLETE Part 1 of Death at the Drive-in the Sequel
Garlic Bomb Launcher: You will see a New Icon in your game for the Garlic Launcher. Tapping on it will pull up a screen similar to past events where anything in the “Cloud Path” of the bomb will be destroyed. So, MAZE TIME??!! (Still testing if they even stay anywhere, right now… NO 😦 More random like the Unholy Nuns, but if you wait… you can get more than one in an area. Especially if you do it AS SOON AS YOU TAP A VAMPIRE) You will want to make the most of each Garlic Bomb.
Garlic Bombs: Jerome OR Quagmire OR The Playground OR The Police Department OR Questline OR Buy Them
****The Bats break up after tapping a Vampire into groups of 2 or 3 Flocks of Bats Each. So you get roughly 2 or 3 Flocks of Bat groups from each Vampire tapped. Tapping on the Flocks of Bats WILL stop them for a few seconds and change their direction. So… you can keep tapping on a few to keep them in an area til you are ready.

Why did they change the way you get movie reels? I almost had enough for slasher cat and the pumpkon tower.. Now I have to get soda cups and pop corn.. thats not fair at all. It makes it harder and longer to get 100 reels for slahser cat

I haven’t seen them drop that many. I get about 8 sodas from them BUT I got 10 Popcorn each time I hit a nun and they appeared more often too. Bruce and Joe and Seamus should have Silver tasks also. I haven’t even got Slasher Cat leveled up to 6 yet to help out with that and Death his Brimstone needs to not be rare. His Scythes dropped more often then the Brimstone does and they were extra rare drop.

I just needed 11 more reels for Cat when accidentally pushed into phase 2. The bats weren’t much use for generating sodas, but keep on going in the main quest because once you get to the werewolves, you’ll hit your goal quickly. I think the change added a day to the time I needed to get the Cat since I had to start all over in phase 2. But I’m swimming in popcorn now so 60 popcorns plus 25 sodas to get 12 reels worked well for me. If I had needed more than 12 reels, it wouldn’t have taken long to get either 2×27 sodas or 2×25 sodas plus 120 popcorns.

What’s up with those bats? Every time I hit more than one, I get zilch, if I do them one by one, they drop soda. Is there any kind of sense behind this? Like you’re only supposed to hit one at a time? And as soon as you take down more, they stop paying out? Thanks!

In the meantime, I hit 6 at once and got 2 sodas, so that puts paid to my theory. But it still looks like the more I hit, the less the payout per flock. It’s gonna be a lot harder to earn the necessary movie reels than in act one.

LOTS going on. It is a visual Players chaos. Lol. I am a visual person… and yes.. LOTS going on. Takes a bit to readjust and get used to… but I am actually having fun taking out those bats now. 🙂

So, a tip for garlic tossers. Bats don’t stick to roads, but the vampires DO! You could try to stick to as few roads as possible, or even maze-like designs, and then massively tap vampires as they get together. You can also tap bats to make them stay still. Don’t give up, it gets annoying some times but you will eventually get good at it =D

I was really upset with this update, I was so close to slasher cat and the timer was started but I finally figured out this whole werewolf thing and the payouts are actually better since you can get up to 12 for a trade in. I bought slasher cat with 15 min to spare and spent about 30 clams to finish off the tasks. I wish the werewolfs spawned quicker like the nuns but they are not too difficult to hit once you get used to it. I ended up starting the timer on Meg’s friend but I’m gonna bust hard to finish her. So after about 15 hours ready to quit the game I’m better. You will not beat me tiny co 🙂

I’m surprised to read the werewolves aren’t spawning enough for some people. They are driving me CRAZY! I currently have 7 characters turned to werewolves, but it takes SO LONG to get just a couple of silver cannon balls, I can’t possibly keep up! So the tasks I have my characters doing TRYING to unlock things like death… It keeps getting interrupted. And if I get rid of the werewolf on 1 character, they IMMEDIATELY turn into a werewolf again!! I’m never going to get the Scythes needed for Death at this rate.

50 sodas for 10 film reels? Sounds good on paper but how it is implemented that is another story. Ok. So far on this phase the ratio of the spawn times needs real work. I don’t see how i or anyone for that matter is going to get 150 swarms of bats in 3 days unless we end up spending clams to speed things up. The soda drops are horrendous compared to the popcorn drops which those were dropping left and right and the prizes were obtainable for the first Phase and now I am nowhere near getting enough sodas for the second prize for at least another day it also doesn’t help that they started this Phase a day late and expect us to get 300+ reels to get everything on the second prize page before Phase 3 comes out because you know that going into the prize pages starts the 24 hour timer which I think is asinine to have in the first place. I really enjoyed Peterpalooza very much and last year’s Halloween event BUT unless things start to get better with Phase 2 and they do away with that 24 hour timer then I am almost to the point of sitting this event out and I was really looking forward to it also.

You actually need more than 650 reels to unlock everything on page 2. The only plus side to the timer is you don’t have to get the timed things if you don’t want to. Like the Buddy Cianci high school skin. It’s 300 reels! Yeah right. So you won’t HAVE to unlock that before you can move on to page 3. Know what I mean? Definitely pick and chose which timed items you want because you’ll never get them all. It’s just not possible.

So, if we haven’t got the cat yet, is it better to hold off on the movie upgrade until we do get the 120 reels? Or are they expecting people to be saving for both simultaneously? Or give up on it to avoid falling behind the main quest? CAN you even still work on getting the cat after the upgrade?

That is completely up to you, but just popcorn exchange is easier… but you will be putting yourself behind on other content too. I am still waiting on confirmation of the Page 1 lock out in Phase 2.

I noticed you have the character tasks for silver cannon balls listed as 5 hour tasks. My game is 6 hours per character task per cannon ball.. 5 hours would be great!! lol. those things are not easy to come by!

Thanks for the heads up on the trigger for the timed event for week 2 challenge. Now I can stock up on cannonballs and garlic before I finish datd-i ts pt2. Then use the soda and popcorn payoffs to save up for slasher cat :-).
Now if only id seen the warning about triggering patty before I fixed that damn car. Oh well.

well i had this big thing typed up but the page crashed or something so i had to start over. Meg’s sneak into a movie is a 2 hour task instead of 4.
Funny thing has happened to me all day. My scream level points have been jumping without me doin anything. this morning i had 338 points and was trying to gain holy water baloons without leveling up my scream rank. It got tougher as they added scream points to those tasks. but still i had enuf wiggle room i could just do holy water tasks and get a few in before it forced me to rank up. after i was all done i was doin stuff in other tabs and came back to family guy and i was still at 338 points. so i dont think it was lag or anything. 30 mins later i came back and now i was at 348. I dunno where those 10 points came from. and just a few moments ago i gained a bunch of points without doin anything between. not positive how many exactly but i went from 1/4th the way to next level to half. Gettin kinda weird here lol. still got some reelz to go so im hoping to avoid hittin the screen so i can take advantage of my now 45 popcorn only reelz

Did you use Consuela’s Vacuum to get rent? Using it collects from event buildings that drop Cleavers. This is why I now collect rent manually not tapping event buildings to I slow down Scream level progression.

Helpful trick I have tried out a couple times now. This only works if you have the Garlic Bomb Launcher option in the bottom right of your screen. When you log in and see Vampires coming out of the Drive In Entrance, tap on them to turn them to bats and then launch a bomb at the entrance as quick as possible. I have been clearing at least 7 if not all 9 flocks of bats that spawn. Maximizes prizes drops and saves on Garlic Bombs! Hopes this helps!

Don’t recall a character (slasher cat) needing to be at level 6 to help with item drops (cannon balls).

Store Character is NOT disabled for ALL characters, just seemingly the core ones (Stewie, etc.). Event characters are able to be stored for me.

Some phase 1/phase 2 comparison math: (Freemium)
3 guys to make silver bullets every 6 hours, so 12 silver bullets per day.
1 silver bullet is 8-9 (we’ll say 9) soda so that’s 108 soda a day.*
By the time werewolves spawn you’ll likely be close to if not level 6, so we’ll call it 35 soda per 10 reels.
That’s 30.09 reels per day.
During phase 1 we could turn in 240 popcorn a day (without counting saving Lois) which at 35 per 5 reels was 34.29 reels per day.
In phase 1 we required 116 reels to complete all non-timed events (ie: everything but slasher cat.)
In phase 2 we require 352 reels to complete all non-timed events (ie: not whatever the thing is that costs 300 at the end).
So our requirements went up (352/116) 303% while our production went down (30.09/34.29) to only 87.75% of what it was before.
In phase 1 you could attain your 116 reel goal in 3.38 days.
In phase 2 you can attain your 352 reel goal in 11.73 days.
So, devil’s advocate and say you took that extra 3.62 days of phase 1 and saved those reels for phase 2? You’d have made 124 reels (I had 69 as I didn’t play 24/7) and your 352 reels would become 228 which would then only require 7.6 days to complete…
*No Death yet and Slasher Cat skipped. If you have Death already you’re amazing, congrats; change the 3 to a 4 and follow the math to your result. 😉

i so regret clicking thst movie screen to go to supernatural, i havent even gotten my slashercat yet, and am at only 45 reels, using on ly popcorn was so much easier:(

I’m the exact same thought I was starting to do well and catch up but hit the TV it’s changed my way of getting reels which is looking impossible to get now 😦 I too only have 40-50 reels & still can’t get in movie projection booth as its going to hit slasher timer.
So doubt I will have slasher cat by this week which defo means no Lois & Patty well out the equation.
Those cups look like going to be hard to get only got 2 will take 27 for each 10films so going to need just under 150 cups just to get slasher cat 😦

Same here. I have no 5 reel option at this time. I have come to a complete halt on reel progression. I do love the garlic bomb feature, just hard to get the 27 sodas for reel payout through bats. I know once wear wolves start it will get better, just real slow movement right now. Happy playing all!

Werewolves drop more sodas, yes (roughly 8 a piece) but they’re not easy to get. There are only 3 (free) options to get silver cannon balls to shoot the werewolves with, and they take 6 hours a piece to do. So you really can’t clear all that many Werewolves a day. Death can also help with dropping silver cannon balls, but you need 8 (extra rare) scythes to unlock him, and my game keeps turning the characters I need to get Scythes into Werewolves! So I can’t get through the tasks needed to get them. Anyway, my point is you should really think about weather you REALLY want Slasher Cat because once you spend the 100 reels on him it’s gonna be quite difficult to get more reels for the page 2 content. And You need A LOT. Just thought I’d give Ya a heads up.

I think the scream level popcorn and soda rates for reels is not set in stone. Mine have been at 3 different exchange rates today,,all at the same scream level. It seems like they are still tinkering. Mine do match what is posted here now, but just don’t be surprised if they change again.

The videos are really short. Max 15 seconds each. You are always asked if you want to watch another one, and you can say no.

So if you start phase two does the option to get the items from phase one go away? I’m still saving for Slasher Cat and the Pumpkin Tower so I can avoid the timer. I don’t want to start phase two if I can’t get them anymore. But I don’t really want to fall to far behind either >. <

okay so those extra characters who can turn into Werewolves i just brought them out of storage.(Wow! how dusty they are LOL) i set them all on their longest tasks, so do they HAVE to be set on tasks in order for them to turn into Werewolves or can they all jus be out walking the town doing nothing?

Am I the only person that doesn’t have a button for the garlic bombs? I have to go to the consession, stand click on the soda (to reveal how to get them), then click go next to the launcher. So annoying if you want to tap them to keep a bunch close together!!

Bunny, suggest that they bring back Popcorn in exchange for Reels. TinyCo screwed up with the payout values for Soda to Reels and Soda and Popcorn to Reels.
Why should even convert 60 Popcorn to pair with 25 Sodas to get 12 Reels when I can just use 27 Sodas for 10 Reels? I can wait to get 2 more Sodas from Garlic while I’m making Cannons instead of Popcorn. If it was 15 Sodas and 35 Popcorn that would make a good exchange rate.
Honestly, I don’t understand TinyCo’s game model for this event. Its designed to make players not want to progress or buy decos in the game. I’ve done my best to set my game up to not increase in Scream points. I don’t have Quagmire’s house skin out and only have; Death’s Mom’s House, Murder Point, and Slasher Cat Cave out because they’re needed. Everything else is in storage to stop Scream progression. If I need them out of storage for a task I’ll do that, but back into storage they go instantly after.

I would suggest Players continue to do the same too. I think it worked out OK … until they had to adjust the Scream Levels. That tossed us all in odd directions for the exchange.

The 60 popcorns plus 25 sodas for 12 reels will actually help me recover from my accidental toss into phase 2 when just 11 reels away from getting pumpkin tower plus Cat. Otherwise I would have to accumulate 54 sodas for 20 reels. Lucky me…. I’m drowning in popcorn (which is so sad because in phase 1, I’d have the overgrown Cat bouncing around my town by now) but only have 6 sodas from the bats and it will be 6 hours before I have a few more garlic bombs to try for more. Will take a while before I will get to the werewolves who drop loads of sodas. I’m going to have to get really good at bat hunting. They should sell bat decoys (like duck decoys) to lure multiple flocks into the sights. Maybe bottles of bat pheromones.

I had Lois’ timer stop when slasher cat was chasing her. I had 1hr and 20 some odd minutes left when I logged off 4 hours ago. I logged on and slasher was chasing her so I cleared him real quick and guess what… she still had an hour and 20 someodd minutes left. Perhaps a change since phase 2?

This update is super buggy – every time I try to contact support the game crashes (iPad version). I want to ask in particular about garlic bombs – I’ve had several occasions now where direct hits on the bats yielded nothing at all. Surely that’s not right?

Aw man. I was under the impression that if we didn’t trigger the timer for slasher cat we would be able to get him once we were closer to 100 reels. I didn’t realize that once phase 2 started he would go away 😞 bummer. Any idea if when we start the timer on Ester will we have 7 days from the time we trigger the timer or just until phase 3 starts then she goes away…?

1. The popcorn and soda trades for scream lvl 4 match up with mine. 2. I have clam t.v. also and I’m super happy because this is the first time I have gotten it. 3.I have an awesome way to mass bomb bat swarms. First I made a 2 by 2 road square and removed all other roads. Then I surrounded it with fences. Then I waited until the next group of vampires spawned and they went in the square and stayed. *Last I tapped them quickly and switched to garlic bombs quickly and shot at them and got 8 bats with one garlic.*
*this part is hard to do because once turned into bats they started to go through the fence and I just barely missed one. (now I just need to save up for slasher cat and do many other things including getting death lol) Also thanks about posting that slasher cat has a timer, because that could have gone really wrong really fast. (Sorry for long comment)

I’m just wanting to check a couple of things.
1. Are the second page rewards locked until you finish the first page, because all my rewards are locked. I can get everything in phase 2 apart from the rewards right now (I’m at level 5 so shouldn’t have a problem).
2. Is anybody else having serious problems trying to get hold of reels and the food stuff. I was having really bad problems for the past week trying to get popcorn, but with the added demand of getting soda (I’ve had a grand total of one so far) this is going to be utterly impossible to progress or get anything out of this event whatsoever now. Am I doing something horribly wrong here or is this just impossible for a free player to get anywhere with. I don’t expect to get everything, but I’d expect to be able to actually do something other than just occasionally shoot at a monster and get nothing out of it in the end.

woke up this morning, and most of my main earning characters are now werewolves, so I have 8 werewolves and very few options..

I’ve been purely freemium, am still in phase 1, level 4 (stored almost everything that could raise scream points to slow that down), and am 11 reels away from getting the pumpkin tower and the Cat. That means one more save of Lois by Peter or two melted nuns…. I have 6 launchers in queue and 9 holy water balloons waiting. So definitely it should be possible to get through phase 1 freemium. I have everybody possible on holy water duty. Are you just missing shots at the nuns? You can practice by hitting the x instead of the check until you can do it fast enough to launch while she’s still purple. I tap the nun with my right hand while poised to hit the launcher button with my left, moving my right hand finger to about where the check mark will be and tap it fast. If I hesitate, I hit the x to cancel and try again. She has to still be purple when you tap the check mark or she will move out of the range of the launcher and it gets more complicated trying to catch her (too complicated for me).
You can also first practice the nun tap followed by the launcher tap with an empty launcher. Then practice with a full one, hit x until you feel ready for a real nun melt.

Anyone else stuck on a loop with the movie? It said I have 5 minutes for more nuns. I came back 6 minutes later and it still says I have 5 minutes. Haven’t had any vampires and I’m stuck on the 2 quest

I kept it on the supernatural movie screen and let it count down from 5 min 42 seconds to zero. I went to the normal screen and went back to movie screen to find it at 5 min 42 seconds. It’s been all morning. I have 2 nuns no vampires. I’m on iphone and kindle so I don’t see it as a device issue.

Thank you, bunny, for clarifying the awards on the garlic bombs. In the game it says you “always” get a soda from blowing up the bats but I didn’t get any out of three tries. Now I know it’s just a possible result. You should work for TinyCo it seems like you know more about the game than they do! LOL

I’m a little confused on the bats. I know it’s random, but I cleared 2 bats and got 7 sodas and then cleared 4 bats and only got 1 soda. Had anyone noticed if you get more rewards for clearing more bats at once, since that has not been my experience so far?

I don’t wanna influence Your game, but from the comments I’ve read about the new exchange rate for reels, unless building we already have pay out in boo coup amounts, it’s not looking very good for us Freemies. That is my opinion and I have been known to be a little dull when I shoulda been sharp as a tack( which it felt like I was at the time, until it’s pointed out to me and then I get called out besides!!!) I repaired the car and started the timer for mega pal, but just to get to Slasherbait Lois is looking insane from my point of view but I’m sure it could be done, just not by me. Since I’m about to get Death unlocked and that was what I wanted, I’m gonna walk away from this at the end happy enough! Good luck!

How on earth have you gotten 6/8 scythes for Death? They never drop for me. I’ve gotten 1 out of like 50+ attempts. A 2nd one did drop, but the game crashed and when re-opened, it didn’t drop again. (Yes, I sent a in game message about it)

Well hollywoodcory, the truth is I am in a badly deteriorating relationship, and instead of trying to patch a sinking ship, I relieve my anxiety by playing this game prolly more than the average bear. And since it’s highly likely if and when the divorce happens she will take all the money and property, so hopefully I will atleast keep my old iPhone 4s!!!!(I am just kidding of course) I think they did that to set me up, because I used the 50 clams I got for unlocking Mr. Weed and finishing that set to buy the last few Brim stones I needed, all that is left is the scythes, and after all this time I am still stuck on 6/8!! And truthfully, I went after Death with everything I had because I wanted him that much so now it’s a waiting game to see when the last 2 fall!!! Keep plugging away at him tho and good luck, I think we are gonna need it the way it’s looking! Haha

Oh man. I hit the timer for patty and am not even finished collecting for slasher cat. I still need 30 more reels and probably won’t be able to get Lois on time. Dang it. They have too many timers going at once.

My main concern is the spawning of the Vampires for the challenge and the rest of the phase. I have only had one spawn of them since the phase has gone live all it has been so far is the nuns. 300 reels for the Jr. High skin and timed? seriously? I am starting to have flashbacks of the Mob event all over again.

Got tons of vamps., nuns, wolves, zombies and even oomph loompas! One crowded burg. Gotta get more garlic! Thats my grief. HINT: I turn all vamps to bats ASAP and let them roam. I place the target view finder at an intersection and wait. The bats travel mostly on the roads. If you watch the 4 way intersection and time it right when lots of bats will be entering you can wipe out a lot. My best has been 12 flocks in one shot. Give it a try . And Patty seems truly impossible. That’s a drag!

You’ll save a ton of garlic if you gas all 12 bat swarms with one garlic as soon as the vamps exit the drive in. I have almost 100 swarms killed from just today with 10 garlic in the chamber. Just tryin to help 🙂

I like that a wide variety of the regular Family Guy characters are involved. I like the variety in the way this event is played (especially the way to dispatch bats and unholy nuns).
Now if only I could stop unknowingly clicking on timed things before I’m ready… But I’m 2 for 2 so far in launching them. Wish there was a warning.
