This post is for open conversation. Pretty much anything and everything goes (as long as it still follows the Addicts Site Guidelines). Feel free to chat it up all you want.

When you get to see this week’s Dr.Who ….they make reference to the same “baddies” having visited us back in the seventies, …..well I remember it, and those things terrified a 7 year old

I laughed so hard at that part. I am loving they are bringing more the elements of the Original Dr.’s back into the series. Loving watching it so far.

OMG! Just watched the latest episode of The Walking Dead, and what a shocker of an episode, I’m not gonna say what happened and spoil it, but I can’t believe what happened :(. So far all 3 episodes of season 6 have been amazing so far, it just keeps getting better and better.

I forgot to mention I had to look up what a crock pot was lol. I call it a slow cooker. I bought my first one recently but unfortunately only made a stew in it so far 😦 I wish more people posted in the open thread – I like talking to people 😛

Striking everyone on WordPress. Some sites worse then others. Some disgruntled readers decided to use it as a reason to attack me for “blocking” them. Gotta love it. Instant pitchfork and torches towards Addicts when things go south.
Way to break the system. It’s your fault for not doing your weekly list. 😉

Getting back to the game, it would be awesome if all characters had regular 4, 12 and 24 hour solo tasks. It would be a lot easier to manage the game especially for those not involved in the current event. Especially Vinny and Mr. Washee Washee who cap out at 6 and 8.

Anyone check out the “Supercut Star Wars the Force Awakens trailer”
Some people took all of the SWTFA trailers and edited them into one seamless Supercut trailer ,, it is like 3:40 seconds long and it is totally AWESOME.
I am 43 so i saw Starwars in the movie theater when i was 4 1/2 so for my 5th birthday I got to pick out 5 Star Wars action figures,, they were my most prized possessions in the world, the house could have burned down, and as long as nothing happened to my action figures i would not have cared.
The three originals films are gold,, the three prequels are @#%@
But this 7th film looks like it maybe a return to greatness for the franchise, (Thank God George Lucas) passed off the reigns to a writer and director who still have sound minds intact.
If you have not seen the Star Wars Supercut Trailer, you really should check it out, it will get your pulse racing.

Agree on the Prequels. Some cool aspects, but… Hayden annoyed the frak out of me.

I feel like he overacted in lots of scenes. I never really understood all of the hate for the prequels. I certainly prefer the Original Trilogy, they are much better films, and the prequels aren’t great, but I enjoy them as do quite a few people I know. To be fair, I imagine it must have been quite difficult to write the stories, as they needed to address the main story and try to have new stories for people. I am sure they cancelled the EU so that they could write their own, but it must have annoyed all of the writers as well. The SWTOR writers always had to work to try and stay canon, the Yuuzhan Hong Wars could have made for an interesting film. Dragging it out over three films would probably have been boring, but it could have been good as one of the spinoff films.

He just got under my skin so much with his portrayal. WAAAAAAAAAAAAAY too whiney in my opinion. I wanted to smack him. Lol.
I loved the effects, graphics, etc. But it was hard to stay excited on many parts of it.

LOL Yeah, I hope that the new films(including the 3 spinoffs) would have the storytelling of the Original Trilogy, and the effects of the Prequels.

The Prequels sucked because the films were more about merchandising than being true to the story. Lucas was running around with dollar signs for eyes for all the money he was about to make.
The reason Hayden sucks as Anakin is that Lucas wrote the character that way. He was a whiny brat with mommy issues. If you watch The Clone Wars animated series you’ll actually see Anakin and the Prequels done right. Anakin is nothing like he is in the movies because he and the series has the heart of the Original because it was created by people who were fans that grew up on Star Wars and Lucas had minimal involvement on it.

Sorry, covering several things in this post. I get what you mean about making as much money as possible. I have never hated the films, but I certainly think they are a lot weaker than many films both in and out of the series. I disliked parts of the prequels, but I enjoy them overall. They certainly pale in comparison to the Original Trilogy, a lot of people I have seen haven’t justified their disliking them as you have, they merely say that they hate them because everyone else does. I wasn’t sure if I would at first, but I enjoyed TCW. Whilst I didn’t like things such as the Battle Droids, I felt like they were too childish, I felt that the series was very enjoyable overall. I have seen very little of the original one from the early 2000s, but it never seemed to have much success, certainly not when compared to the reboot. I agree, the stories on there were better, as were the portrayals of the characters. It’s a shame it is no longer canon. There were so many great parts of the EU that were made redundant as soon as they cancelled it. SWTOR often seems to break the canon, as did TCW, but they tried to keep it in canon, it must have been very annoying to find that their efforts to modify everything to stay in the confines essentially became a waste. KotFE seems out of place, I wouldn’t be surprised if they wrote it because they are no longer canon anyway.
Have you ever watched Rebels? I watched one or two, but I wasn’t as interested in it. I think part of that was because I was disappointed at it replacing TCW, and that a lot of the details about characters and stories sounded like clichés.
Also Bunny, did my other comment go through? I posted one hours ago, but recently all of my posts don’t show up at all, there is nothing saying under moderation or anything similar, they are just missing until approved. If not I’ll just summarise here, I am just not sure if they are going through or not anymore.
Did anyone get tickets for The Force Awakens? I managed to get 3D tickets for the midnight release. As I’m in the UK, I also get it a day ahead of most people which will be good. I’m a little reluctant about Battlefront, but hopefully it can live up to the name. Even if it is a complete rehaul. I have always been a massive Star Wars fan, I loved the EU especially, the stories and characters were great, and I died a little on the inside when it was cancelled. I can see why, but they could have just made the post episode VI content into Legends, as well as anything new and conflictive, and left everything else, especially as lots of things were written carefully to keep within the confines of the EU. I really enjoyed the EU, I was quite surprised that TCW is no longer canon. I often find I get somewhat territorial with Star Wars, I know a lot of people that say they are massive fans and know everything, when they have only seen the six films(assuming TCW doesn’t count) and know a couple of facts about the films. The majority of them had also never heard of the EU. I’m fine with the fan part, I just get annoyed by the ‘know everything’ part.

I have noticed WordPress “hiccups” a lot this week. Comments not posting, emails not working, etc. My suggestion is to hit Post again just to make sure the comments went through. I know outside my Admin system, that is what I have to do to get it to post.
Otherwise you did have a few comments already post to Open Thread.

Hmm, now that you mention Star Wars – fingers crossed for a Star Wars event in tqfs. Wouldn’t be too crazy to hope for, with all the mocks we’ve seen in Family Guy

Initially I was upset with the prequels and may never watch the first one again. That being said I think as a whole the trilogy is better than anyone would care to admit to. I think the greatness of the original trilogy as well as other movies of the time is it was limited to technology. …which meant they had to rewright or use brilluant tricks. The problem with technology now in days is you can put anything you want in the film and never have to rethink scenes because of it. In short I’m saying technology has made many directors and writers lazy…instead of focusing on story they hope the bedazzling effects are good enough #HanShotFirst
