Bouncing by really quickly with a lil survey… this time directly from TinyCo themselves!
TinyCo is wanting to reach out to the Player’s and get some ideas and feedback in regards to some potential future Events they have in mind. The really cool part of all of this is they want to get some feedback from YOU on it.
I have attached a simple and quick survey below from TinyCo on those ideas. Take a few moments to go through and select the answers that best apply to you.

I think that it is really cool when we as Player’s get these kinds of opportunities to voice our thoughts on something BEFORE it hits our games, so definitely get involved and be a part of the overall game experience.

Hmmm. I think the survey might have been too targeted. It seems someone at TinyCo wants to do a sports theme and is just checking to see if any of the options would be worth the money and effort. I think a more broad survey might have been more effective. Something to gauge interests of most of the fans rather than specific portion.
They could have easily included other ideas to test what kind of events would be more popular. A couple that I thought of would be a gamer type event (they could include Tron and Pacman) or a Cultural event that includes stuff from all over the world (there are lots of options as Family guy has made fun to a LOT of countries and cultures). And I’m sure there are a lot of other kinds of themes that can be explored.
I’m not saying that a sports theme is a bad idea, but I suppose I was expecting some more variety from the survey and I think it was a missed opportunity to get a more broad understanding of what all the fans of the game are looking for. It would allow the TinyCo team to plan out multiple possible events rather that just one.

Not really. With THOUSANDS upon THOUSANDS of possibilities, that could become I nightmare. I know because we have done polls like that. It is always best to limit polls to specific questions. Then release others also with only specific questions. Too broad of a scope allows way too many variables and defeats the purpose of a poll. 😉

I definitely see where you are coming from, but (and correct me if I am wrong), it seemed like this pole was serving two purposes: 1) look to see if people would be interested in a type of event and 2) figure out what the people who are interested would like to see in the event. If the majority of people are against the event, I assume TinyCo will scrap the idea. That means that a lot of work will have been put into the second part of the pole with no payout to TinyCo. I would think a broad and general pole would be more useful, then another pole to gather more specific data about the types of events that sparked the most interest, saving work on gathering data that might not be used.
So I would start off with a pole that asked: “would you be interested in any of the following types of events.” And follow it up with a separate pole that asked: “which of these options would you like to see in this event that seems to be a popular choice.”
And of course, no disparagement to anyone. This is just me enjoying a good hypothetical brain exercise.

From a business stand point, it’s very useful. Answering both A & B for them. So IF A:people want it they will know B: who they most want to see.

for me, even if i like to see some american football, i’m not sure a event about this would be fun to European fan, as someone else said they prob can’t understand all the gameplay,
for me i’m a diehard fan of soccer or in Europe football, i’m a Bayern Fan, #miasanmia

Ummm, did no one else notice that under football Tiny Co. has the “Jacksonville Cougars,” not the Jacksonville Jaguars listed. That made me laugh and cry (as a fan) a little. . . just like the Jags!

with all the Back to the Future references on the show and this being the original movie’s 30th anniversary, surprised they never did an even for that. and yeah Star Wars is definitely the other “obvious” one but with it not being a Fox property anymore, probably trickier to get done.

the only possible event that this could produce that I would be interested in is Peter trying to combine all 3 sports and mocking them ceaselessly.
But that wont happen, all 3 are powerful brands if Tinyco are looking to use real teams/players, they will have to play nice and do what they are told.
Maybe I can finally take an event off?
Or even find the willpower to just stop playing…

NFL all the way. Lifelong Patriots fan (dating back to when they were terrible) and since that’s Peter’s team they will front and center. For our European friends consider it a great opportunity to see what makes Peter tick. TB12 !!!

Heres a crazy thought…how about a FAMILY GUY event??? Stick to things that are canon in the show. Maybe move the story along with rebuilding the town. Maybe add a new screen like when they did Star Trek. Start using cut scenes and BRAND NEW animation that could be made strictly for the game. That you could save in your game and replay anytime.
Basically I would love to see the content already in the game polished. Lets add noises and voices to all the decos. Change the sounds for tapping on buildings.
I will stop now as this is becoming a Dear Tiny Co, post.

sports that have little penetration outside the USA are of limited appeal to a global audience.
that said – in Oz Apple and Google have both put clam prices up by 40% in the last 2 months, so an event I have no interest in might be just the ticket for me to put the game down and save some $$$.

A sport event sounds pretty rubbish to me! Especially as those are very American sports that no ones plays in the rest of the world! I won’t understand a thing. Ah well, I can’t like every event so as long as it interests the masses I’ll just not stress and wait for a better one to spend my clams. 😀

Basketball is not a popular sport to watch in the UK and those were all US teams listed. I just know nothing about pro wrestling full stop! I was only commenting, I did say I had no problem as long as it pleased everyone else, no need to be mean.

WWE has sucked for the last 10 years, so there’s reason for there to be a Family Guy event about it. The only people I care about in the company are Paige, Sasha Banks and Kana (Asuka).
I’d rather have a NFL or NBA event even though I don’t watch either.

Took the survey… I don’t know. Doesn’t seem to have much to do with the show outside of Tom Brady & OJ Simpson. The Cleveland Show had an episode with some b-ball players. I don’t recall any wrestlers.
I wonder how many clams OJ might cost? His actions could include ‘murder Ron’ (Meg outfit?) and ‘steal sports memorabilia’. Plus they can always steal lines from Naked Gun to help keep costs down.

If they decide to do a Sports event, I will finally get to take a little break from this game! I have zero interest in a sporting event. I answered “no ” or “not at all” to every question. They have already held an event that I did enjoy though, Peterpalooza, as music is my forte.

I’m not interested in the WWE at all and said so, but as I was scrolling The Rock appeared in the names, and I’m always interested in The Rock. Lol.

Oh I know sports are a part of the characters lifestyle but not enough for a long event in my mind, and by TinyCo asking our thoughts sounds like they are also maybe worried it won’t capture the imagination or our clams as outwith States most of us won’t know who any of the NBA o NFL players are and even the WWE isn’t the massive thing over here it was years ago.

I think for the licensing costs they couldn’t make enough back in clam spend to justify a mini event. The one plus in this survey for me is they are planning for the long term so the game will go on.

Easy triple no for me. Not interested in either sport and even less interested in a WWE event. While it wouldn’t be my first choice for an event I wouldn’t mind seeing a more old-school WWF event with wrestlers like Piper, Savage, Andre the Giant .

If they added a sports event as a mini event that’d be okay, but not a month long one. WWE is the stupidest thing ever to me (no offense) but it might be funny to have some wrestling skins for characters. An NBA event would be so boring for and football would stop being fun after a week or two.

Man I’ve been wanting a WWE event for a while now. it would be cool if they mixed in classic guys and not just the current roster. I would love to have the late Roddy Piper, Randy Savage and still with us Ricky Steamboat running around in my town

Ah sports, lol sorry but no… Even if I was, all of these are purely US sports that only few follow beyond your borders. Maybe soccer, rugby, cricket, tennis for Wimbledon (Serena in our games, anyone?), cyclism for the Tour De France, or even the Olympics, to name a few, would interest just as many?
As for my wishlist, after Star Trek, a Star Wars tie-in would have been amazing (OK, as you would say, awesome, lol) — there’s still time. The chance to bring in the Blue Harvest cast, too! There are many other tie-ups that would make me very happy, why not LotR/the Hobbit, Avatar when the sequel comes out, Avengers, X-Men… Oh wait, is there a pattern there? 😀 For the ladies, Fifty Shades of Griffin or Quahogton Abbey… featuring the British Griffins we’ve seen a few times, in an old-times-themed Quahog. The Jungle Book is coming out soon too, that could be fun!
It’s also nice to see non-US seasonal themes making it into our little games, like Oktoberfest or St Patrick’s day. Next, why not the Rio or Venice carnivals, the Chinese New Year (I forget, has this been done?), a colourful Diwali special (if only Apu lived in Quahog), or musical events (I enjoyed PeterPalooza) like muddy Glastonbury or trendy Ibiza with DJ Peter, David Guetta, Calvin Harris or Aviici (Deadmau5 is from your side of the Pond).
Ah well, you got me started, lol… But I can’t post without mentioning at least a mini Addicts event with you Bunny and the team and helpers as new characters!

As an european player this was very easy, not interested in these somewhat U.S.A.-only sports at all, I did not recognize even one name on the list.

I know it’s a stretch but what about a star wars one? They did do three “movies” . I don’t know if they have done it yet. They don’t have to use the same names due to copyright, but would be cool. Star Trek event was one of my favorites. I started on here roughly 9 months after it launched (around the time of American Dad).

Since American Dad has already been introduced to the game (and since AD will likely never get its own game), let’s continue the blood feud between the Smiths and Santa Claus, this time in game form! Whose side would the various Griffins join? That would also give newer players a chance to add AD characters to their games.
Thinking about it in practical terms, TinyCo is probably way too far into development of whatever Christmas event they’ve already worked out to change things now, so I offer it for possible future consideration.

Woo! Finally a sports event! Put extremely interested for NFL and NBA I would absolutely love to see either of them show up in an event with some star players. Personally I prefer NBA and would love to see my idol Dwayne Wade appear in the game. Hopefully the basketball option wins out I think that would be the funnest. Would be happy with NFL too but please no wrestling.
