The Halloween 2015 Event, Death at the Drive-In, will be coming to a close today November 12th at 3PM Pacific, So what does all this mean to you? Let’s take a look…
BUILDINGS
ALL Buildings brought into the game for the Event will go away when the Event ends unless you purchased them from the Menu.
DECORATIONS
ALL Decorations brought into the game for the Event will go away when the Event ends unless you purchased them from the Menu.
CHARACTERS
ANY Character brought into the game for the Event not COMPLETELY unlocked and wandering around in your game as a playable Character goes when the Event goes. Remember, many of the Characters required a Building purchase first to start collection on them. This means you ONLY purchased the Building and NOT the Character. So if you have Materials you still need to earn for a Character and do not complete it when the Event is over, you lost that Character and all those Materials too. There is absolutely no way to continue working to get them AFTER the Event. Once Event is over, they are gone if not completed. So decide if it is worth it to you to spend Clams to complete their unlock … or let them go with the Event.
MATERIALS
ALL Materials tied to the game go when the game goes. This includes Movie Reels, 3D Glasses, Licorice, Ice Cream, Soda, Popcorn, Chocolate Bars, Cannons, Launchers, etc. ANY Material you used for the game you need to use BEFORE the Event ends. All will clear away once the game resets when the Event is over. So use up your 3D Glasses and other various Materials while you can.
MYSTERY BOXES
Mystery Boxes are linked to the Event, so if you wanted to take a spin in them one more time make sure it is BEFORE the Event Ends. ALL Mystery Boxes will go when the Event Ends.
MOVIE PROJECTION BOOTH
ALL 6 pages of items from the Movie Projection Booth will go when the Event ends. This means ANY item you did NOT get from the Booth for Movie Reels and pull into your game will go when the Event goes. Use up what Reels you can BEFORE the Event Ends.
QUESTLINES
Per TinyCo, the Side Questlines attached to New Event Characters AFTER they are unlocked will be able to continue after the Event. Any Questlines linked to the Main Questline or specific Event Only dynamics of the game will go when the Event goes.
AFTER EVENT??
With TinyCo, anything is possible. Many times a Mini-Event has quickly followed a Main Event Ending (either Thursday or Friday). I do not have any information or details as of yet to anything hitting AFTER Death at the Drive-In… and I will be at the new job a lil later into the evening… but I will have information posted to the site as soon as I can if something does hit. Just hang in there with me.
There you have it. Halloween 2015 is coming to a close.
Thoughts for what is next? I am personally hoping another District or something small and simple to give us a break. Looking to pick up any last minute items? Any Decorations you want to stock up on? Let us know.

I was waaaay behind in this event; only just unlocked the huge magnets. With 2 min to go!!
Got a couple of decos and Pink Brian & Consuela’s costume from the mystery box, Slasher Cat, Slasherbait Peter + Lois, Patrick, all of Meg’s friends, Death, Death’s Dog and had to shell out 70 clams for Death’s Mom. Her questline didn’t continue. Is this considered “attached to the main questline” or are there actions that can only be done during the event? Mom knows best questline was at part 1, wasn’t that advanced enough?
Thanks for all your tips and walkthroughs! Wouldn’t have got any of timed items without the guides!

I’m honestly not the type to complain about events. I have come to accept how these things go. But that being said I am so glad I came to the determination to never purchase clams or spend clams on any in game purchase since the Star Trek event. What a crock this whole event was. I literally had one single item remaining for deaths mom to completely unlock her and now she is gone from the game (it was my understanding that once you had the character “open” but still needed items to unlock them you could still do so ). I guess this is now not the case. The whole ice cream thing totally shut that down in obtaining the last remaining building to help with the drop in addition to deaths dog that I had running the same task non stop trying to obtain the two items. This only further validates my no more money decision. I love the game and I’m only playing and getting what I can, it’s just very frustrating when they make it virtually impossible with how they have laid it out to advance through the quest. The constant sideline of basic characters that were required to advance you were always in limbo being chased or werewolves. It’s just almost funny at this point like what the duece lol I guess I was fortunate enough to have obtained Patrick, Death and his dog as well as Meg’s friends. It just is week sauce not being able to get his Mom.

Overall I was OK with the event itself . I just really hated some of how they ran it. Things like the surprise timers, the week of almost no progress because every body was stuck as werewolves 99% of the time, the limited reels options resulting in piles of useless snacks.

For me, Death’s Mom’s quest line (Mom Knows Best) left with the event. Only used Death’s Mom, Death’s Dog, Death and Stewie. Couldn’t advance to get her without first getting Death and Death’s Dog so they can’t be the issue. And if Stewie is the issue, people who were not at that point in the game (District 8) would have been stuck in the event or after the event. None of the buildings housing tasks could have been a problem since you would have needed them in or out of the event. I held off doing it since Death’s Mom was on permanent magnet duty once I got her thinking it would be there once the event ended. Silly me. Led astray by TinyCo again.

I got all the Phase 6 items up until the Death+horse, but there isn’t enough time to get him and I really can’t justify using clams to get just a decoration. It stinks that the death+horse decoration was the 7th item because that’s the only thing from Phase 6 that I was actually interested in…besides the Pope, but I would never able to get him.
It stinks that I couldn’t get the Phase 6 deco that I wanted, but I’m not using clams to get it.

At the very last minute, I decided to spend all my hard-earned 3D glasses on bat colonies to make a little bat-infested forest, which is fun to watch. The teenagers spent most of the game watching movies to get the glasses for me, that seemed age-appropriate. Love Meg’s friends, they are so enthusiastic about everything.

I have had the Cyclops house for over a week and had 0 drops for Patrick Pewterschmidt and running shoes. I have had over 50 collections from the building and a complete failure to drop. It was the only item left. I tried to force a drop with my clams at the end but that failed too.
Is extra rare the new epic?

I would have liked a litter of bat kittens, but I guess she has to be an only child. I got up to part 7 of phase 5. Was nice to see Jerome out and about even though he was being chased by a car. I like the werewolf movie screen animated deco (from the glasses mystery box) and the bat colony. Love seeing Death’s mom wandering around! I really did get all the characters I actually wanted, and got all the phase 5 projection booth items except Freakin’ Hard Albert, despite the acute ice cream shortage. But I collected almost 400 reels in phase 4 before entering phase 5, so that helped a lot. I accidentally finished a timed challenge and suddenly ended up with the haunted kid’s room, which is fun to watch.
Just melted my last nun, sigh… Will use up the last few garlic bulbs on those pesky vampire bats now. Will have to look up advice on How To Train Your Slasher Cat, I fear for the life of little Bat Cat.

Is there a possibility of getting characters not got in the foreseeable future as I did not do well at this event due to taking too long to level up, I only got to phase 4 tonight but do not have time to beat clowns and I haven’t got many characters for the event.

It is always possible. All just depends on Readers suggestions, legal ability to relaunch, and IF TinyCo will do it.

So disappointing, they dont pro rate a character like the Pope for how many reels you have. I was able to get 845 but have no way to get the last 55. I could buy 3 20 reel packs for like 1000k clams? or buy the pope for 3600 clams??? speeding up the concession characters I paid clams for also cost like 300 clams each??? Come on TinyCo thats a bit overboard. Just disappointment is the word right now after all the time and effort the last month or so.

I think this event was the best of the year and it was absolutely terrible which tells you what I think of past events. This hasnt been a good year for TinyCo starting with the Star Trek event. Im glad this event is over and sadly, I am dreading what is coming next. I

hey everyone. will this update be a app store update and is there a way to delay it? i am 15 3d glasses from the abandonded hospital. also, are they prompt because if i cant get enough for the hospital, i would like to spend them on other things. what time do you suggest i give up on the hospital and cah them in for other stuff? thanx and have fun.

I hope we get a break. Working on unlocking Stewie and Carter. After unlocking the Maniac Pope theres really nothing to do but wait for the event to end. Wish I could give some of you my excess reels I have over 500 and tons of snacks to convert to reels.

First thanks Bunny for all the updates, I really enjoyed this event (it also being my first Hallowe’en here) and though I spent clams to make sure I got the ghostbusters costumes (geeking), I was surprised at how quick it was to get resources when playing regularly and have managed to get all the mainline prizes including Albert and the Pope

Well this event was cool overall and I’m happy with the handful of characters I got. I spent 50 clams on Deaths mom this morning because of 1 last plate, but I got back 20 for having the deaths. Then I was able to get to the next page minus hook-hand ofcourse, I never built up but just over 200 reels at one time, so the only timed item I got was slasher cat.
I never got ice-cream or magnets for some reason.I found this trade though 25 sodas for 10 reels that kept giving me 30 reels, sso i started making mostly canons.
I spent alot of time playing this event so i call it a winner,frustrating though as I missed everything several times.

I’m only in Phase 4 and just got Deaths Dog finally unlocked. No chance at anything else with my own new job giving me only a couple 5 min Windows to check in it’s been impossible to keep up.
I’ve got 227 clams saved but gonna save them for something good during the Christmas event, whatever it is 🙃

Whelp, I’m playing the gambling game with Death’s Dog in a hour to see if I can’t get his mom unlocked… Currently have 45 clams, so just buying the last saucer is out of reach, but I figure I can gamble 6 times with what I have before she just gets spirited away…

Managed to finish up with the Maniac Pope with a couple of hours to spare. Whew! The movie exchanges got real bogged down at the end. All ice cream cones and zero liquorice (127 left and worthless). Only missed Buddy Cianci & Griffin house skins. Really wanted the Griffin house. Oh well. It was a loooong event with some unrealistic, lopsided and poorly timed quests. Minimum clams spent. Stayed away from all Premium charachters. Only wanted the Deaths, Meg’s friends and Pope. So all in all okay. Hopefully TCo learned some lessons for next event. Would like to see them get better not worse. The excessive greediness will kill the game. Balance is the key. Next……

It took a lot of work but eventually I was able to get all characters (except Slasher Cat) and all 3D glasses items. I think the key for me was letting individual character quest lines go to the wayside and focusing solely on reels and 3D glasses. Kind sad, I bought Maniac Pope on Monday but for some reason I’m still compelled to collect reels. I can’t stop. I’m up to 600…

Lame event. Too hard at week 1-3 and too easy at the end. I have about 2,000 reels left and nothing to spend it on. The only remaining quest: The Parades of Horribles is just time waster as it pays reels and I already have too much.

Glad it’s finally over. First event since the start I’ve not even come remotely close to finishing, despite playing multiple times a day, every day. Says a lot that they extended it and I’m still not past Death’s mom compared to all the previous events where I was able to stay on the current phase the entire time.
Far to convoluted and far to difficult. If I ever see another event that locks you out of characters by turning them into something or having them chased again, I’ll insta-uninstall.
While the characters, stories and buildings for this event were neat and enjoyable, nothing about the mechanics of this one were.

I actually fared much better than I thought I would. I was pretty much a week behind throughout the event (that confounded bottleneck that TinyCo is so fond of using these days), but still managed to get most of the items on my hit list.
I did have to strategically skip some Projection Booth items (the timed ones) and largely ignored the side quests. I also found it helpful to leave Peter and Death’s Mom running free as much as possible – Slasher Cat and the Possessed Cars appeared quite frequently, and having the means to get rid of them instantly was a big boost. Otherwise, I took all available characters and sent them on tasks for 3D Glasses (ignoring things like Garlic Bombs or Holy Water Balloons) and scored at least 1 of every item requiring them.
Strangely enough, putting the blinders on in this manner was a huge benefit to my overall progress. Maybe I should approach all of the forthcoming events with the “could-care-less” attitude – it just might keep me in the game…
Of course, none of my efforts would have made sense if not for all the walkthroughs and tips I receive from this site that enabled me to see what is coming and plot a decent strategy in the first place. So thank you very much for your efforts – it helps immensely. Keep up the good work…

Jaunt when you think an event couldn’t be worse then the last Tinyco prove you wrong … I think only 2 people in my friends list got the pope and I’m sure one of them is a hacker , why do they never learn! Make these premium useful in upcoming events

Totally ready for this event to be over. I just got Fat Guy Strangler Pewterschmidt guy….after two weeks of needing last pair of shoes. Get the bats off my screen, vampires gone, ghosts gone and all the other random walking people. I am ready to not see them any more. I do look forward to the next event that will frustrate me.

What customer service….? I had a problem with the projection booth that I left them a ticket on twice back in week three I barley got death, then it resolved itself. Then I moved on the problem started again now I’m stuck at week 4 and still have not got a response back from tinyco. I love my game but this is the first time ever they have dropped the ball on customer service. But atleast I got death and his dog so I’m sorta happy can’t wait till x-mas now!!! And thanks again bunny for helping us through the game and event I started back on the full moon event and would not have been able to make it through half of them with out you, you are the unofficial customer service sometimes. 😄😄

I have beeen pretty worn out by the demands of this game for the last several events and decided to play this event with little care for the prizes. It was much less stressful and made it slightly more enjoyable, but I will be a bit sad to see all those unlocked characters vanish.

Agree that this event took a tail spin near the end. I think the extension only added to the problem and challenges weren’t easily achieved. I spent a full week trying for one plate for Death’s mom with both Death’s dog and the building. Magnets were too spread out as well with less than a 50% success rate. I finally just bought Death’s mom hoping to get one or two of the horsemen…only to find out I HAD to clear the 5th page first??? Even tempted to buy Pinhead, but not worth it no…..need a break…..

This event has been brutal. I am weeks behind. I have 2 characters I am going to lose because the game refuses to give me the drops I need. Not fun at all. Hopefully they give us a break after this.

I have hundreds of items for reels but I can’t use them because the amounts to get the reels is completely random. They needed to just pick a number for each item or combination of items and stop changing it. Probably there worst event to date.

I barely managed to begin the last phase a couple days ago. I’m glad this event is finally ending. Hopefully, next one will be a more relaxed event, I need a rest.

I never even saw page 5 or 6 in the concession stand. All the trading in film reels stuff wash mess and made it impossible to catch up once I got behind. Unless I wanted to use clams. Sucks because I really wanted Deaths mom

I don’t want to sound like a rant, but the bottom line for me is, I’m glad the stress has ended. I’m very disappointed in not being able to get hook hand Albert nor the maniac Pope, but at least I’ll be getting that cool dragons den. I think we all need just a little break before jumping into some new event or a district. I still need to unlock Cleveland’s ex.

Bummer. I was hoping you might have heard through the grapevine that we might get one more extension. I’m a little over 170 reels from unlocking Hook Hand, but because of how rotten the exchange rates have been I can’t justify spending the clams to speed through creating catapults, cannons, etc., especially since I have no magnets in reserve. Looks like I’ll have to decide this afternoon if I want to trigger Phase Six and get the first few decos in that phase or gamble with the exchange rates after all.

I think this event went well. I managed to get ALL of the free characters without dropping a single clam (including Slasher Cat, Hook, and Pope). It was a hard battle, but it was possible. Glad to finally have Death and his mother in the game as well, that was exciting to see they were going to be in the event when it started.
Thanks Bunny for all the info you have provided thru out the event, it was a HUGE help and made it possible for me to plan out my moves smoothly.
Any plans on posting an after event poll for this event or no? With end results stats? Would like to see how far everyone got and stuff.

If you do a poll can you try to differentiate between Premium Player results and Freemium Player results? I play every day at least every 4 hours and only got through Week 4 of the event. I would be interested to see how far players progressed that didn’t spend any money this time around.

That is difficult as the poll is combined. So I cant say “this side said this and this side said that”. In order to get more accurate, I would have to do TWO separate polls and even then… it is a Matter of IF the person pays attention and fills out the right one. 🙂

How was it possible to get the pope without clams? I’m in the same position as Katy above and Skydude below, the event created an icecream roadblock so how did you acheive 2000 extra reels, I don’t see how it could be done even without sleep.

Although I think we are in the minority, I am with you and enjoyed this event. I wasn’t as lucky as you and played constantly, spent a small amount of clams to advance which I got back. I wasn’t able to get Hook or the Pope, but did get Slasher, death & his mom and 2 of Meg’s friends. I also completed all of the timed challenges. Earned lots of buildings/decorations and I think 100s of corn hedges which I am happy with, although I am a glass 1/2 full kind of person :). Of course, I would never have made it that far without the addicts. Thanks as always!

How did you manage to get Hook and Maniac for free??? I managed to get Hook with crafting some items with clams and I haven’t gotten anywhere close to being able to unlock Maniac Pope to get reels for him? And I play all throughout the day when possible!

Without spending a single clam? Honestly, I can’t get that too match. I have bought the Sour Milk which give ice cream every 8th hour, I have had my alarm on for “important” things in the night, but still will end up being 400 reels away from the Pope. I can’t see how it would be possible to get all without any clams.

This is how… SKIPPED the OTHER “Premiums” aka “Last Booth Item” and save the Reels for the last two instead. It COULD be done by holding back updating the Movie Screen to maximize your use of items before updating. Then Update and move fast again a slight delay to maximize. Honestly if I did not HAVE to get each item in the booth and instead picked which of the 6 last items I would get, it could have been done. Phase 3 and 4 were a bit easier on the Reels.

I also skipped everything which weren’t a character that would complete a list, and thus gives me clams. Anything else I never even tried for as I didn’t care about those.

First off, I always enjoy these events, especially as I’m in the midst of District 12, and once that’s finished, then it’s really just coming to play the events. Second, I know TinyCo puts an **** of work into these events, and so wants to get the most mileage out of them.
BUT, having said that, I wouldn’t mind if they were a wee bit shorter, say two to three weeks. Honestly, if I never see another friggin’ load of roving bats, I’ll be cool with that. After two or three weeks, it just feels repetitious.
Overall, still love the game and check in at least 10-12 times per day, spent about $60 or so since starting (I came in with about a week left in the Star Trek event.) But just wanted to voice an alternative opinion 🙂

I am with you on another district, and more land, rather than another event right after. If we do however get another event, hopefully it will wait a few days so I can concentrate on getting the mayor in district 9, and won’t have my characters chased by a car, a cat or transformed into werewolfs like in this event.
Annoying though, that I am “only” 500 reels away from getting the Pope, but can’t make it.

I started with Kingdom of the Full Moon and may have just ended with Halloween 2015. This was a terrible event.

Ha ha same so been playing a year half lol. I wasn’t too keen on how the nuns and bats stuck around when they were useless and this made my game very slow and Lagg I think. People checking their game 10 to 12 times a day whoa! I okay in thrn toning before work in my lunch then few times after work not unlocked week 6 only 2 ?gifts unlocked and none of the frigid hard things nit even got death’s mum

I might have actually been able to get Hook Hand Albert, or finish the last page of items, but for the complete reliance on ice cream cones in the last two weeks of the event. I have literally hundreds of the other items that I have been unable to use.
There were aspects of the event that were interesting, but way too much bottlenecking in various places. Thank you for your coverage of the event, it definitely helped make things somewhat more bearable.

Totally agree, everything seemed to be ice cream cones and something else, but you had to complete a full set to get a new batch of items to be traded for reels.

I have never been so glad to see an event end! Barely got into week 4 and won’t be able to keep any of three characters I have up. Thank you SO MUCH for all of the great event information you posted and for doing this blog! Hopefully Tinyco will be more reasonable with the next one.

A few weeks ago I felt like I was way behind in the event. So I stopped playing and haven’t logged in since. I am kind of happy the event is ending today as I really did feel like this was a very hard event to do.
Anyway, I have played fgqfs since day 1 and I have to say the last few weeks of not playing is renewing my interest in the game . I am looking forward to seeing what tiny co has in store for Xmas.
I have not given up on the game, I just took a much needed break.
Tiny co does an excellent job, especially with their customer service and this is one main reason why I will be returning to check out their Xmas update when it comes out.
With that said, I also wanted to say thanks to the addicts team for all the hard work you all put in to both your sites. The community very much appreciates it 🙂

You’re very lucky if you’ve gotten good customer service. My experience has been less than satisfactory with lack of response and the “as intended” mantra, even when the game has glitched out. Would say you taking a break from a major event like this one did you a favor, but I suppose to each their own. I too look forward to Christmas, I only hope we all don’t get a lump of coal in our stockings and a Bah Humbug for our efforts. 😛

I just have to say that I’m very excited for this as I had left the game until this event was over. Hoping for more normal things to come. In my personal opinion this event was a convoluted mess. I’ve been playing this game since the very beginning and this is the first time that I simply gave up. Thanks for all you do.

I loved the event, but I could not win any items past Death’s Mom (despite playing very frequently all day long and even buying all the premium horror characters). There were entire levels I’ll never get to experience, which makes me really sad. I wish it had gone on for two more weeks.

I agree. Too much was still to unlock for me. By design they should have it where every person can experience the new items/upgrade without having to bottleneck or pay. My dad and I always battling to see who comes ahead with the same amount of money…..usually. I could not justify the 175/250 clams for the Snack helpers and due to that I never got half the items in week 5 let alone even see week 6 stuff. I don’t like the idea of being locked out of content. My father was able to get to the end with his premium purchases. Before I though it was just strategy to avoid paying to get full access to an event. This one felt if you didn’t invest enough you never stood a chance to unlock most things. Sorry didn’t mean to seem like a rant just wanted to agree with you and wished there were at least 2 more weeks.

I agree with the two weeks more. I just made out with the dragon den and about 100 points for the scream level away from moving up to level 16. I just wish i could have seen the ending. I love this game and thankful for the countless hours of fun. Please know though without this site Bunny, it wouldnt be half as fun as it is. Your help is so appreciated by me and the countless others that feel the same. Your posts are not the average walkthroughs, you put your fun self into it and i love it. Much thanks as always.
