A new Knight is upon us. A land of Dragons, Kings, and R.O.U.S’? Wait a minute… WHAT??!!
A Grimm Knight in Quahog is now live in our silly lil games and with it some fun fairytale Characters, Buildings, and other various items will be joining our games. Don’t worry, it’s only a Flesh Wound.
A GRIMM KNIGHT IN QUAHOG WILL END THURSDAY, MARCH 24th, 2016 @3PM PACIFIC
***So far I am only seeing this on iOS, but am restarting Google Event is on Google now too- restart device to see if it appears. Nothing on Kindle yet. FYI… was informed that Amazon and Facebook usual delays (always behind) will cause you to most likely see it by tomorrow. Just wanted to give a heads up.
I will try to update as fast as I can, but with me at work… hang in there while I get a chance to play the game and update all the details. In the meantime, I will share some FAQ until I can confirm it live.
First up, the Basic Requirements…
- Players will need to have either Opted Out of Star Trek OR Wait til 3pm Pacific TODAY to see the New Content
- Players will need to be on Version 1.19.0 in the App Markets, so if you are not… go download it (or wait til it hits your market)
- Players will need to have at LEAST District 3 Unlocked and Al’s completed
- Players will only see this on the Mobile App Version, not Windows Stand Alone
- PLAY THE GAME! Items unlock in stages and as you progress, so if you do not see an item it is most likely you have not progressed far enough in the Main Questline to unlock it. Check details below for more specifics on unlock points.
Again, this is NOT fully confirmed info and more just FAQ. I will verify it as I can and update the post when I am able to get to my game.
STAR TREK OPT OUT
The Opt Out option is now live in the game. It is right next to where the Leaderboard and Enterprise Icons are in the Lower Right of the screen.
It will show the FIRST Pop Up…
*Then the SECOND…
“ARE YOU SURE?”
*Then the THIRD…
“ARE YOU ABSOLUTELY SURE?”
*Then it will Restart the game…
“ENDING STAR TREK”
***If it is like mine, it “froze up” just a bit while thinking then moved to the “Our Special Event Has Ended” Pop Up to restart it by tapping “GO”. Give it a minute while it does the same for you. Then you will see one more Reload Option screen to finalize it. ***PHEW***
If you want out of Star Trek and are 100% sure, as there is no going back, follow the steps on the Opt Out of Star Trek post to do so. Otherwise you will be jumped into the New Event at 3pm Pacific TODAY.

They will start to appear after completing Once Upon a Time Pt. 3. They will start to wander your Quahog Streets with the Characters. Just tapping on them will clear them.

This is kind of like your crafting area. It will be on the left side of the Castle. You can use Materials (like Magic Beans) to get prizes from the Bazaar. Looks like they also listened to our requests in crafting and you can make anyone you want at anytime you want that it available. No order to them at all. I also did NOT see a timer on the last item. I even waited a minute. Let me know if you see anything different.

DRAGONS
Dragons will begin appearing at the Castle after Once Upon a Time Pt. 7 (Though I saw mine hit while in Pt. 4). In order to attack Dragons, you will need Potions. They are similar to a “Boss” in that they will each require a specific amount of Potion to attack them, must be attack FIVE times to be defeated, and must be slayed in 24hrs to collect the full reward. If the Dragon is not defeated fully in the 24hr period, it will reset back to Full Strength.
As soon as the Dragon appeared in my game while in Once Upon a Time Pt. 4 (White Dragon behind Castle in Event Area) I tapped on the Dragon by his timer and DEFEAT THE DRAGON information popped up.

Is the Black Knight voiced?
I’m wary of spending a lot of clams so early in the event, but the Black Knight is very tempting. I love the FG episode he’s from. Given that he drops potions it seems like he’ll be useful beyond week 1. What do you all think? Does he seem worth having?

Sir Peter once unlocked drops them too. It all is up to how fast you want to start battling the Dragon.

Hi. Long time reader, first time poster!
Just to say that both Westley and the Black Knight are now voiced in my version. I haven’t unlocked Westley yet but tapped on him to see where I was with the items and got ‘In that case I challenge you to a battle of wits’. Only that and one other phrase so far. Only heard one phrase from the Black Knight so far, but I’ve noticed in the past that sometimes characters can be silent for days, even weeks and then come out with a bunch of lines. Happened with a lot of the football players.
Also did anyone else notice that a lot of the Star Trek characters had new lines for Second Contact, or did I just not hear them the first time around?

Oh well started good, but now she old thing. 4 tries at archery and no singing swords. A couple of eggs and beans.
Seems like these events only progress well if you spend cash. The dragon is now leaving for the second time without me being able to attack it.
Sad, just plain sad. 😞

I don’t spend any cash (spent too much money on another game a few years back and severely regret it!!) but from the archery, my first try I got 5 swords and beans, second try I got 1 egg and beans and third try I got a fire swamp and beans I really believe it’s pure luck if that helps you any help! 🙂

Same problem. All I am doing at the moment is getting arrows for practicing archery but I haven’t got any singing swords yet, although in the archery it says the probability for them is high. Very frustrating.

Since this event started, whenever I go and visit my friends, the game crashes – didn’t happen with Star Trek. Checked that there isn’t an update waiting and there isn’t. Anyone else having this issue? Thanks for all your help 🙂

I’m having the same problem. Have a galaxy tab S. No problems with other games, no problems with any previous event in this game. I have no animated decos out and only buildings I need are out. I’ve tried ALL troubleshoot advice and yet still get the message “Family Guy has stopped working” when attempting to collect a clam from Ollieland or ANY of my other friends. After a few game reloads it collects as normal. My guess is that it’s probably an intermittent server issue as it’s not happening to everyone.

Hi Bunny, I think they thought the yes/no button for starting the event early was an option to keep the star trek event going longer. So they think the new event started without the option to confirm they wanted to start it.

I think they’re saying the game switched over to Once upon a time without requiring an opt-out and they’re frustrated because they were trying to get the Lois trek costume when it did.

So my game is currently a combination of 3 events.. ‘A Grimm Knight In Quahog’, however certain things trigger a change of towns, to go to the ‘The North Pole’ (2015 event?). To put the icing on the cake, if I change towns it goes to that Star Trek loading screen between towns, and the leader board for that event it still on my screen.. Despite updating the game. Am I the only lucky one?

Sounds like you are having some interesting glitches. If your game is saved, may want to try an uninstall/reinstall. Lol.

I don’t know about the rest of you, but I can’t play for more than 4 minutes at a time with out multiple crashings since this event started. Even going to Ollieland boots me.
Also those swords are terrible. My Premium account only needs swords to unlock Sir Peter, yet my 2 freemiums are both done with swords, but need everything else. Go figure.

Hi bunny, just an FYI in case you want to post this since people are already bringing out the pitchforks …lol. It looks like once you get to once upon a time part 7, Joe has a bean task for 12 hours. I’ve done at 3 times so it looks like it’s sticking around, not just the single time for the quest line.

It’s been over a day now since the timer on my dragon ran out and it dissapeared, and still a new one hasn’t shown up, I messages Tiny Co from in game asking about how long it shoukd take to reappear and if there was a glitch with it not returning and got a reply back saying that they couldn’t tell me the respawn time on the dragons, and that it’s working as intended and shoukd take awhile for it to return. If this is true then it’s going to take a long time to unlock Westley and get the items needed for the princesses, unless I use clams, have you heard anything different from them Bunny?

Others are reporting what I was seeing 12-27hrs on the return….however… in MY game it was closer to 36-40 hrs. All reported and seeing if it varies from White to Blue Dragon or if any other factors.

I kind of like the longer time-out for the dragon. It gives me time to replenish my supply of potions for the next battle without the dragon timing out before I can defeat it.

I’m sort of trying not to spend too many clams this early in the event but, the black knight is very tempting (and my bet is he’ll be useful beyond week 1, but who knows). Is he voiced? 🙂

Oh, I believe you may want to add for those potions, Westley has one for each of the three. I don’t remember them all offhand, I think Dinner with the Swansons is the fire potion since it’s what I send him on. Ruin romance for all men is lightning. And there’s one for earth that I cannot recall.

Is anyone finding the golden egg drop the bottleneck? Several archery practices have yielded only beans. Without the golden egg, I can’t move on to the dragon, right? My dragon was there, then disappeared and there’s no countdown timer for return (like everyone else has noted).

Wrong. The Dragon has nothing to do with the Golden Egg. You can still attack him as long as you are earning potion. Dragons go away from 12-27hrs

Do NOT kill the Blue Dragon!
Payouts:
White Dragon:
31.1 beans per potion spent (435/14)
.7 scales per potion spent (10/14)
1.6 hats per potion spent (22/14)
14 potions total to defeat (at 4 hours per potion, that’s 56 hours with 100% drop rate).
Blue Dragon:
31 beans per potion spent (930/30)
.47 scales per potion spent (14/30)
1.5 hats per potion spent (46/30)
30 potions total to defeat (at 4 hours per potion, that’s 120 hours with 100% drop rate).
Right now only Sir Peter can get you potions and he gets you at best 6 a day with 100% drop and 24/7 playing.
When you get a Blue Dragon just skip him, spend the next 24-48 hours (whatever the cool down is) and collect potions waiting for a White Dragon.
Blue Dragons aren’t even economical to kill if you have Westley AND the Black Knight helping, but anyone who already paid to get both of them is also paying to speed things up and doesn’t care about strategy anyway.

Don’t forget the multiplier. It says you get x amount of beans, but it is actually a LOT more than what is noted.

I just got a message back from Tiny Co. They said the Dragon cool down is randomized between 12 hours and 27 hours.

For action: Chris/Quagmire play with arrows…do i need to have arrows or something like that? Because im not seeing those options. And for a freemium player each bean is important, because its too slow to get beans at start.

So the Joe Carriage really doesn’t drop anything for the event? Not even beans? Just an expensive decoration? No build time or drops are indicated in the bazaar, either.

It is a Decoration, so nope. Just looks. But you do NOT have to get it if you don’t want it. If there was a build time, I listed it next to the item. So if nothing listed, no build time. 🙂

So we don’t have to get everything in the Bazaar? I was a little unclear about this.. I know we have the option to get the items in whichever order we want, which is a new thing with them, but most events we’d have to get everything before we could see the next phase’s content.. It’s not like that with this one?

They were not all required for the Questline. I think it is more what you want to make for drops, but definitely not forced to get them or get them in any order. Love it. 🙂

Question about the Bazaar buildings: are the item drops supposed to be “always” or merely a chance like sending a character out on a task? My jousting field dropped two helmets plus beans the first time I collected, but the most recent collection only gave me beans. Trying to figure out if this is a glitch or intended, since that may have a big impact on which building I unlock next. Thanks as always for your hard work!

They are not. They are just coded the same as the drops are listed in the Event. So if they are Rare, they will drop Rare.

According to TinyCo’s FAQs Tom Tucker is supposed to have a task to earn beans but I can’t figure out which one. Sorry I didn’t scroll through all the comments and it wasn’t listed in the info part of the post.
I keep all buildings & characters in inventory unless they are needed for an event so maybe the bean earning task is hidden.

Make Up News For Fun – takes 24 hours and rewards 15 beans and 3 ‘Honor’ points. Seems a long task for little reward

I’m confused – why are they now giving us duplicate characters instead of another outfit for main characters? This started out as a good joke with Retep and evil Stewie as you could argue that they were their alter egos or something, but I think this idea of creating multiple characters of the same person isn’t a good idea, they need to stick to outfits. Make better use out of what you already have rather than adding more fluff.

Let me put it this way… I am tired of SOOOOOOOOO many costumes for Peter. He is always used every event so even if he has a cool costume, I rarely see it again. I actually am happy for a new Character vs yet another Peter Costume.

What do you mean? Retep and evil Stewie are separate unique characters. Same as bitch Stewie/Brian or the dog multiverse versions. Bunny is right, Peter has way too many costumes and he will only get more and more till the end of this game. As a character that’ll be overused even in a single event, I’d prefer to have two peters too.
Plus I would actually argue that sir Peter is a separate character as a story character. Not something Peter has actually dressed up as like a pirate or hooker. Or himself in cutaways like anime Peter. I would even say that if they ever recreate Star Wars Peter(Han solo) or one of the Stephen King stories they did, that those peters should be separate too. Even his lookalike ancestors like black Peter or something.

Ok good points. None the less, the bigger issue is, we have what about 150+ characters now running around and let’s face it most of them are useless when certain events start, like evil Stewie and Retep, they have no tie in and their actions/tasks don’t warrant rewards for the event goals. My point? 6 months from now I’ll have 15 different versions of Peter walking around doing nothing to help me towards the event goals.
aka Sir Peter has no actions to help with a Star Wars goal per se. I’d rather keep ONE Peter with 300 costumes who during events is always used for event tasks. It just makes more sense and saves us the eye sore of that many more characters walking around, and I’m no programmer for sure but I know it will start to be taxing on the games servers memory or space wise for all the additions for thousands and thousands of users.
But hey, I don’t make that call. Just my 2 cents worth and I respect yours .

I’m trying to build the castle and every time I try it says I have to wait to clear land. I have cleared one new block of land and have 2 clearing. Doesn’t matter where I try to put the castle same message comes up. Anyone else? Any idea how to stop this from happening?

Let me ask you this… WHAT are your workers doing right now? Did you send them up to the top top clear land? If so, see bottom of this post on the land. The workers are just like any Character in the game, one task at a time. So if they are in use clearing land… you will have to wait til they are done, speed them up, or hire another worker.

HUGE QUESTION: Does anyone know if I purchase the Old Lady’s Shoe House for 1 clam (since I have 248 magic beans), will I retain my materials but still get the building? This is of utmost importance seeing as how this was exactly the case during the Big Game event when players sped up winning a game but were able to retain materials which carried over towards the total needed for the NEXT game. I have 48 min left before I earn another magic bean! Lol….thank you Bunny for your help as always! 😀

I decided against purchasing a building for 1 clam. Even though it’s only one, each clam is SO hard to come by for Freemium players (like myself), so I passed up this option and went with Bunny’s advice. 😀
After I took her advice, TC messaged me back informing me that even if I had purchased the building with clams that my magic beans would be reduced by the amount needed for the building. So, Bunny was right (as always!) to err on the safe side and not to use my precious clam, lol.

It’s cheap because yes, it will use up what materials are there PLUS clams. If it were always full clam price, then it wouldn’t use those materials.

Does it seem weird that Peter doesn’t drop anything? I could really use his help (or any other additional character’s help) with beans (and arrows, while I’m asking). 🙂
P.S. How did TinyCo find out how to lure me back after I quit playing?? And not just to resume playing, but I was even compelled to buy clams already for this event. I bought 600 (and had like 90 on hand) and am already down to 160! Which leads to my next question — Do you think the golden-egg goose is worth purchasing? My concern is that things in the Bazaar require eggs currently, but what if eggs are valueless next week?

Eggs can be won from Archery… so you can see how those go and if you still REALLY need them maybe decide. I always like to wait and see after a few days up to a week of play.

I think there is a problem with archery not giving gold eggs. Archery lists a “high” chance of giving a good egg, but I’ve had Peter train in Archery 4 times and have yet to have gotten a gold egg.

The ‘high’ chances for archery are an out and out lie. I’ve now done the thing 5 times. Payout? 1 egg. 40 beans*5. Oh and zero swords, so no real progress on the main quest line.

So the only way you can get potions is thru Sir Peter – unless of course you want to pay 300 clams for Black Knight? And defeating the dragon is really the only way to get enough magic beans to do anything like unlock Westley or buy the Bazaar stuff. Not gonna get there with Jerome giving me 2 at a time and everyone else having something else important to do. So frustrating how there’s always a bottleneck like this in these events.

It will start to speed up as you unlock items. Seems slow at first but it’ll pick up. Gypsy Cart costs you nothing and is dropping Beans. Along with questlines n tasks too. You’ll get there. It’s only ONE day in a month event. Don’t stress finishing in one day or you’ll be miserable 😉

The gypsy carts each give 35 beans per day. The poofable Knights give 3 each. Finishing up Star Trek quests gives a few beans after each part completed (I assume this is deliberate to encourage us to clear out our queue). I think you get beans from archery practice also (need four arrows). Several regular characters have bean-collecting tasks. I’ve already collected enough beans to get the jousting field (100 beans, 1 egg from archery practice) and am getting close to the 250 beans needed for the old lady shoe but will probably use them to get Westley/Buttercup’s Farm instead to get potions for dragon fighting. In other words- relax and just play! It’s way too early to predict bottlenecks although my guess is the potions, assuming we need to have a big stock before starting a dragon battle. I don’t even know how many items get dropped at once from event buildings, for instance, and that can rapidly change.

I kinda hate that they released more land like this, right at the start of a new event. I didn’t even realize you couldn’t clear land and build a building at the same time, so now I’m stuck until one of my builders finishes clearing a plot of land that I didn’t really even need. I just didn’t have the event in my game yet, and had 11,000,000+ coins burning a hole in my screen, so I figured I’d start some land-clearing while I waited for the event quest line to hit me. Won’t ever make that mistake again…

He means that you can’t defeat the dragons without unlocking Sir Peter, Westley or the Black Knight. You can only defeat the dragon because you have presumably used clams to unlock these guys already. If you don’t use clams it’s going to take at least a day or two to be able to get potions and defeats dragon.

That’s fine. This game is set up in steps for a reason. Not everything will unlock at once, it is meant to take a lil time to move forward. Then as you pick up speed, everything else starts to pick up too. 🙂

I think it’s nice of TC to award hats to both Lois and Buttercup when the dragon is defeated. TC could have split the total between the two of them. 22 hats were awarded for the first dragon and they each got 22.

They don’t each have 22. You are only seeing the count of hats you have total. For instance, say you have 100 and both princesses show 100.If you tap the green check for Buttercup (b/c she only needs 100), Cinderella Lois will show a count of zero, because you used the 100 total you had.

I’m not sure if it works that way.. I could be completely wrong, but I think it just shows up on both because you can chose who to use them for first.. but if say you got the 100 hats needed for the princess, and you tapped the check mark.. I think it would subtract those 100 from Lois’ hats. So you’d have none. I don’t think you’d still have 100 hats to count towards Lois’ 200.. But like I said, I could be totally wrong about that. Will be curious to see once I have enough for Buttercup..

^^^^ correct. Same with ANY Character. The running total will show, but once you tap the Check mark to use them the amount used gets subtracted.
For instance Sir Peter n Westley, both will show running total of Magic Beans but once used for other building and Decorations…the amount will change until you tap the Check mark to pull it to THAT character for us.

Be careful. In the past, they’ve done that when two characters are both collecting the same item. If it’s the same in this event – you only have 22 hats (so 22 hats are potentially available) but you can decide to use them for either character to unlock them. Whichever fair maiden gets that item tapped first will get all she needs and the other then just has any leftovers. For instance, if you have 22 hats and one needs 15 hats (so a check mark appears over the hat icon) and you tap the icon with the check mark to clear it, then you will see the 7 remaining hats available now to the second character. So don’t tap until you’ve collected everything for the one you have decided to unlock first (or wait until you have enough for both).

I got the Grand Fairy Tale Library yesterday and this morning I used the vacuum to clear everything. It also cleared the library, which I was expecting I would need to clear myself, like with any building that has an item drop. I wasn’t paying attention to how many clams I had, so I don’t know if I got them or not. Can anyone who used the vacuum confirm they got clams, using it?
Also, does the dragon have some sort of hidden multiplier, like Borg Bertram? The top level was listed as paying 625 anti-matter, but I was actually getting 2,500. Last night I had around 200 magic beans, not quite enough for Buttercup’s Farm. This morning, after clearing characters and defeating the dragon once, I had more than enough for the farm, Jousting Field, and Old Lady Shoe. This is a good thing, of course, but I’m not sure where all those beans came from. I’ll be sure to pay more attention in the future lol.

I didn’t clear the library with the vacuum but it did just show a coin above it like a normal building. When I tapped it the clams popped out. I’d guess you got the clams from clearing with the vacuum since it does the same thing as tapping the normal buildings. I expected it would show the item box above it or even a clam in a box and was a little anxious for a moment that it wasn’t going to drop.

On part of the clams, I recommend keeping a tally if you’re worried, but I watched mine when they had The Giving Tree, as I accidentally used the vacuum feature a few times before collecting from the tree. Once I started paying attention to my clam count after using the vacuum, I did see that everything was correct.
I have also used the vacuum feature once already, on purpose, since purchasing the Library, and the additional clams were added correctly to my clam count.

One each per Task (at Common rate) and I would definitely suggest getting a good stash piled up of each when you can as you can see you will need various amounts for the Dragons.

I do not have a separate post yet, but if you look next to where the Magic Bean Requirements are in this post under the Characters… you will see the current ones I have come across so far that have a Magic Bean task so far. In the Bazaar it says that Old Lady Shoe should always drop arrows. I have had two drops and have not yet received any arrows. I reported it to TinyCo so let’s hope it gets solved quick.

On the IOS version, it actually says “Always Drops” for the Old Lady Shoe when opening the Bazaar. It doesn’t for the other buildings.

Actually, I haven’t bought the shoe from the bazaar yet and I just snapped a screenshots of its in my bazaar shop it does show always and an arrow, which was what made me feel like the arrow bottleneck I’m experiencing as a Freemium player this event was going to be ok once I saved enough beans and got the shoe building! If it’s not dropping them always then us Freemium players are not getting very far on training archery runs. I’ve sent bonnie and Lois on their tasks for arrows 4 times each and have just 2 arrows so far. It takes 4 to train archery one single attempt. This will be a problem. If you’d like my screenshot I’ll happily send it to your email.

I’m trying to go through all of my Leftover Star Trek character questlines and I’m Having a bit of trouble with Manchild Onboard Pt. 2 because it says the task requires the turbo lift. How I am supposed to finish this questline? The turbo lift was in the separate Star Trek play space.
Also, are the Star Trek characters/buildings supposed to be earning magic beans?

I happened to send Starfleet Rupert on a 1 Day task right after opting out of the Star Trek event so his task is in the Turbolift, which is actually invisible in my Quahog but it drops 20 beans every whatever interval it is (like 16 or 20 hours or something like that).

The Star Trek characters are definitely dropping beans as they complete tasks for their questlines.
This should be deliberate since there are so many questlines for Star Trek. Have to clear up the queue to make room for the event. Best way to encourage this is to give out current event currency.

I do not know if it is coded to limit the drops. Like once you hit X amount of clams it drops no more.

You’d still end up with the same amount of clams at the end of the day. It might be useful if you wanted to shift your timer around (8am & 8pm for example).
I think casual players should avoid this building unless something changes. If you can’t collect 2 times per 24 hour period for the majority of the event, then you won’t make any clams. Unless you want the building anyway and would spend clams/time for it.

I don’t think it will make a difference. You get 6 clams per 12 hours. If you speed it up at 6 hours, you pay 3 clams for 6 clams. that means that you can get 3 clams in 6 hours or you can get 6 clams in 12 hours. You can also get one clam in 2 hours or 5 clams in 10 hours. All you would be doing is changing when you get clams, not the total amount of clams gained in 12 hours. I suppose you could use this to your advantage if you know you will not be available in 12 hours to collect it early, which would reset the time so that you could collect at two different times during the day.
The main consideration that I would point out is that you should be careful to collect as close after the clam requirement goes down as possible. The further you get from the mark, the less total clams you will get in the end. So, if you are going to collect early, make sure it’s right after the times that would have a reduction of clam cost: 2, 4, 6, 8, 10, or 12 hours so that you can get maximum payout for the building

Is there a list of relevant characters for each event? I have a lot of them in storage and only bring them out if they perform specific actions to gain event loot. I know that currently Jerome, Mort and Louis have actions to get stuff. It would be nice to have a list, rather than go through each character individually and check.

In this post, I noted the ONLY Characters that drop Magic Beans constantly and actually have a task for them right next to the Magic Beans requirements. NO ONE else drops them daily (I will check again today to see if any new when I get home). Once the Event is in full swing, I will do another post of just the Characters… but that list is pretty much it plus the 3 you can get (Sir Peter, Westley, Black Knight) who I also noted in this post drop them once you get them.
There are a few odd ones out that ONLY dropped them for ONE task during the Questline, then the task went away. Those are listed in the Questline run down. Make Sense?

Some were for just a bit. More of a “trickle” over effect. Probably because “event coding” was still linked on them to pay out “event currency” which right now is Magic Beans. Once that coding is gone, they will go back to
