Hey there, Investigators!
Who wants to go to a Dinner Party on some remote Cliff? Have Random people die off then spend the rest of the time finding out WHO DONE IT???!! You ready to play the detective? Or are YOU the murderer?
With this new The Hauntening event, we also get some New Characters. Characters like the actor and namesake of Quahog’s High School, James Woods!
OOH a piece of candy!
Let’s take a look at what James Woods can do in our silly lil games.
James Woods is a Character added during the 1st Case of The Hauntening in 2016. As with (almost) all Characters in TQFS in order to unlock him you’ll have to collect lots of STUFF.
First though, you had to get the Blue Car in the Event Area repaired so you could get him out. It costs $1000 & is Instant Unlock.
With him now visible in front of the Blue Car, you can tap on the Lock Icon to see just what is required to bring him into your game.

Have Sheriff Peter Abuse His Imaginary Power, 4 hrs
14 Pieces of Candy (Uncommon): Sinister Staffing
4 7 Crates (Uncommon): Clear Poltergeists
11 Cards (Rare): Quagmire Let the Gerbil Loose OR Quahog Sheriff’s Station OR Hollyweird Video
6 Pairs of Peter’s Pants (Extra Rare): Lois Practice Tai- Jitsu OR Joe Go Undercover OR Jerome Host Happy Hour OR Haunted Mansion
Once you had all his Requirements checked off, the Unlock Icon appeared over his head. Tapping on it brought him into your game as a Character.
He does come with a Questline, Into the Woods, more on it in a later post.
James Woods does come with a complete set of Tasks! Tasks that will help you earn $$$ & XP.

**Note: Within an Event, tasks may change and vary as the Phases come and go. So some of these tasks will be temporary. Others may be one time use. Some will stick around even after the Event. We won’t know until the Event Ends.

Crates became nonexistent the past 2 days. Must of cleared 12 poltergeist and could not get the final one. Fortunately it was only 23 clams to finish the final one. Good luck everyone.

JW crates are too hard! I’ve cleared 12 poltergeist and only have 1 crate after checking my count. They are not Uncommon as stated. I am now stuck with a storyline waiting for JW to complete it.

The uncommon drop can be slow I’m afraid, we’ve seen that in previous events, we are reporting back your comments on drops.

I have to admit, I haven’t been playing very much these last few months but as soon as I heard James Woods was available I immediately jumped right back in. Aside from Mayor West, he’s the character I’ve been most hoping would show up in game. And maybe it’s because I’ve been away for a while but so far this event seems to be progressing at a reasonable pace. I don’t feel at all compelled to spend a bunch of clams just to keep up. (Which was a major factor in me all but abandoning this game as of late.) Good job TinyCo. 🙂

Have not gotten a single crate from the poltergeist. I have taken down 8 of them. Anyone else having this issue

Double check the counts. I NEVER saw an actual icon, but next thing I know… I had them all. I was shocked. Lol

20 poltergeists taken out and still need two crates. Drop rates are absolutely atrocious!! No help from TC as got their parroted “drops as intended” reply.

I have noticed voices seem to be missing on all free character last 6 months or so never used to be the case. Shame his voice is awesome and I think you could buy him ages back.

I’ve had the Area 51 (14-clam drop) advertised twice, but I can’t find it to buy it!

What part of the Main Questline are you in?

I just loaded my game and saw a pop-up window that showed a bldg called Area 51 for purchase for 250 clams (pays 14 per day until Nov. 4). When I click on it to get it it disappears and it is not in the shopping cart nor inventory and no clams were spent. Is this happening to anyone else? I also updated to the newest version 1.29.3 and still have the same thing happen.

Case 2 won’t til next week. How they release content… this is a new one for all of us. I guess they still had more to do… but didnt want to drop it all at once.

Hello, i’ve unlocked sheriff peter and just placed sinister stuffing, so i hope to get JW before time expires. I play in total freemium way and Mr. Woods would be my 100th character (and the one i was waiting for since i began to play!)

I don’t have a task for Sheriff Peter called “Abuse his imaginary friend”. When I tap on the task above James Woods it takes me to the Sheriff Peter “Investigate” task. Is this the right one?
