There’ll be a lot of jingling going on, but hey I’m not taking about bells, but from all the quarters 80’s Gamer Brian will be carrying as he drops into Quahog in a quest for Arcade machines to play.
80’s Gamer Brian is a fantastic looking new Character Costume for Brian added during Phase 3 of the Quahog’s Not So Silent Night Event. He is a prize that can be won from opening the freemium Ghostly Gifts or the Premium Pac which costs 70 
clams per try.
He does come with a questline, Token Dog, we’ll have more on that in a later post.
80’s Gamer Brian does come with a complete set of Tasks! Tasks that will help you earn Stocking Stuffers and Dream Points.
Let’s take a closer look at 80’s Gamer Brian’s Tasks:

I finally got Brian today. I’m done with everything in this event. Just waiting for week 4. No idea what I’m going to do with 14,000 stocking stuffers. There’s nothing good to buy with them. There’s nothing else to do until week 4 actually starts.

Just got to wait two hours for normal Brian to stop eating Garbage to get an animal skull for Lorretta which I’ve nearly got and I’m very close to unlocking 8 bit Lois too all good

I’ve got 5 characters working around the clock collecting ghostly gifts. After opening well over 100 of them, still no 80’s Gamer Brian for me. Glad to hear that some are getting him.

I’ve had 8-bit Lois since Saturday… I have been getting about 1-3 Blue Boxes every 2 hours = around 20-30 a day, but I still do not have Gamer Brian 😦
Will Next Week’s tasks unlock without getting him?

I am very addicted, I opened tons of boxes and no Brian but today I was opening just a few boxes, (I had sent all characters to complete quests instead of getting boxes, so I had only few) thinking I’m never getting him but all of the sudden there he was! Keep courage everyone.

Glad you got him. Just opened another 7 tonight…..now I’m up to about 30 with no 80’s Brian! When you a “ton” …..just curious…..how many do you think you’ve opened?

Same here opened over 40 with nothing but junk I don’t need. Messaged tinyco asking what the deal is and I just want to finish the questline for update and at this point hate the useless skin. There reply was that don’t worry keep trying and it will happen. My thought is its a horrid idea to tie the questline up with a task when you need a non dropping item. I have so many of the ghosts I could never use them all.

I estimate I’ve opened 36 (approximately 6 per day for 6 days, some days are better, some worse), and haven’t seen him yet…I’m at the point in the quest line that I need him to continue, so hoping I’ll find him soon…ugh…

Just got him – took an additional 12 boxes over my initial estimate, so approximately 48…whew…now to send him to task to be able to update the portal when that is available…I suspect he wasn’t available in the game until the last few days…and I was a child of the 70’s, in college in 1980, so I knew people who looked like that…I was the hippy type, so no wraparound glasses for me…

Yes… stay optimistic! After a great amount of stress the last couple of days finally things fell into place- got Lois this morning and just now got Brian’s costume from the cubes. Lois’ drop… coincidence? Who knows?! Whew! And only 8 blue stewie bucks away from finally getting evil monkey into my game!!! Good luck all!

I scored Brian today and have had monkey kong since day two of this week and having gotten Lois a couple of days ago all working on the boxes. Even with four characters going for them it seemed like drops were a bit low. But now I am a day out of the portal upgrade and I am ahead of the game waiting for the rollover. Using this time to work on getting Pawtucket pat taken care of and clearing out other character achievements. Can’t complain being a free player (though I was complaining to myself earlier in the week). 😉

I messaged support about the inconsistencies in that this costume for Brian has a 12 task for the ghostly gift and instead of a 2 hour like the other 5 characters their response was oh we are sorry he was not ment to drop thoose at all then the task disappeared from him…. I earned him from the ghostly gift box 2 days ago

Ok, so… after so many failed attempts im now saving all my ghostly gifts until im on the main questline where i need 80s Brian, hopefully that helps my chances of getting him.
Had PacMan and Kong all week helping get the gifts but got no luck 😦
Still this is good news that at least someone has got him, Tigger? anyone else???

I’ve not won him as yet, but poll is showing some have won him in Ghostly Gifts, so hopefully that gives you sme encouraging to keep at it.

I hit main questline part 8 by which time i had 12 gifts saved up, the first 10 spawned nothing but ghosts and lots of barrell boxes but then, on the penultimate box before i lose it and ragequit, there he was!
FYI to others i lost count but easily opened way over 100 before getting him so stay patient!
Now waiting for week 4 to start with over 5k SS saved up… feel sorry for anyone who fell for TinyCos con of offering event currency premium buildings
ps – good luck Tigger hope you and others get him soon/eventually (if you can keep trying into week 4 and beyond).

Do we need to put him out of the relaxation area to get a chance to unlock this costume or will it be directly added to inventory

Shouldn’t have to pull him out, as if you win him should take you to Al’s to create him.

I didn’t need to do that. Quite surprised to win him early on and also very pleased that you win him outright – no collecting to do. He soon stops dropping ghostly gifts though, perhaps at the end of his quest line?
