Let’s tip toe into the Case Files for the final week of V Is For Mystery II Event, and see what all you will encounter along the way.
CASE FILE TASKS
These are basically your “Side Questlines” for the Event. The main thing is unlike Side Questlines from other Events, these are actually VERY important to complete as soon as you can so you may earn as many payouts as they are providing. These payouts in return help you unlock critical items for your Event progress…
HOW CAN I FIND THE CASE FILES?
You can get to the current Case Files Screen by tapping on the Icon in the lower right corner of the game screen.
This will in turn take you to a Pop Up Screen showing all the current available Tasks you have unlocked and/or completed so far.
You can still complete the first weeks Case Files, you’ll find full list of them HERE. To access Week 1 just tap the arrow in the Case Files Week 2 page.
WHAT ARE ALL THE CASE FILES TASKS?
These are the lists of Names & Part #’s for the Special Orders I’ve seen so far. Also listed is the is the reward you will get when you CLAIM the completed task. But please note this post is a work in progress, I’ll add the new tasks as I trigger them in my game.
Yours will vary, mainly because it is just trying to get the drops you need AND to complete 33/33 for now. So if you keep moving forward on one… you will possibly see MORE on that particular Task Name then I have shown below. So basically what you see will depend on your progress and th characters you buy or unlock. In other words, there may be MORE than 33 Task options available. It will vary by Player’s game progression and Task use on what YOU complete and see come up next.
Remember: You will only see a small amount of Tasks at a time and you will NOT see more until you complete ones there already and/or progress in the Main Questline, giving you access to the item/area you need to complete the Tasks.
Here is the list of what I currently see in my game but remember when you clear one or progress through the Main Questline, another will appear until at least 33 show up and are completed. But they will only show up if you claim your completed tasks, please remember to do that.
Addicts Tip: Please be vigilant when clearing tasks, buying items etc that you claim your Tasks in order to trigger the next one. Basically whenever you do anything check to see if you’ve any Claim File rewards to claim. Sometimes the Claim alert doesn’t appear as it should above the Case File Icon or it gets permanent,y stuck there, so go in and manually check this.

WHAT DO I GET FOR COMPLETING ALL THESE TASKS?
Each Week a New Bonus Prize will show up that you can try to earn by completing ALL the Tasks for that week. Here is what you can get during the second week.
Benedict Manor: At the end of Completing at least 33 Tasks for the second week as they trigger, you will see the COMPLETE Button turn into a CLAIM Button under the decoration in the Case Files Task Screen.

I might not get the bonus for all the case files since we have to do 3 of Brian’s tasks. These notepad drops have been beyond horrible. I’ve had everything else since yesterday and have gotten 1 notepad today from 5 moustraps

Just get as much as you can, as this means you use fewer clams to unlock Dr Watson if you really want him in your game. Do also remember that if you have Sherlock Stewie and Scottish Peter, you will complete a set and get 15 clams if you also have Dr Watson. Net clams outtake may not be material, considering that Dr Watson is a full character.

Well between the Joe/Mousetrap/Tennis racquet offer, and using 50 or so clams on speedups/item purchasing I got Brian in time to run through his tasks that just finished up. Pretty annoying that I had to do all that when I was pretty constant on checking every 4 hours but at least I got Brian and the bonus building. Once this all clears up it will look nice in my London area I set up!

So are we being required to go thru the new characters’ side stories as part of the ‘Case Files’? I always remember having lots of (full) character stuff left to complete after each event. Seems like a good idea, other than falling behind in their other tasks. (Am referring to Stewie Holmes, Scottish Brute Peter, and looks like a bit of Dr. Brian Watson, too in “THE CASE OF THE SIDE STORIES”) At least it ties things together.

I have to say, I kind of like having to complete the side stories as part of the game progress. Normally it annoys me that I have to finish those up before the next event, but having it as PART of the event takes away the annoyance.

The flaw is that they are requiring three tasks for Dr. Watson and they seem to have the drops set so it takes the bulk of the week to complete his requirements. It’s just for a (repeat) building that will just end up in storage but I think it is a good idea that isn’t being executed properly in order for people to be able to get everything that is available. I finished the tasks for bats and rats Friday. They could have thrown in some more of those because that’s what we are doing for the week. Three tasks for the end-of-event character to get the grand prize doesn’t seem very doable with the current drops that are being seen.

As long as they balance the numbers of item drops needed along with that. They’re typically needed continuously on tasks for the items just to keep up.
